And here’s that companion piece, which I wrote right after the other, in the hopes that I could post them together eventually.  They were both written on May 12, 2015. I’ll let you read it first, then add on a couple more notes at the end, since there’s definitely something to say about what happened after.

“now, cache away” Sorry for that title, that's a bad pun. I watch a lot of RuPaul's Drag Race. It should have been enough for a grown man who spends a significant amount of his conversations bemoaning the use of social media and condemning anyone who grants credence to it as "retarded" that I said, "Yes, I will do what you want me to and shut down this blog about you that you don't like." Right? I said I would and I did, immediately. I password-protected it because I'm still at R's house, across the country from my desktop computer, on a dying Chromebook, with no good way to archive what I've written. Those who know tumblr know that a password-protection is as good as it gets to private. You can't even see your own page, if you don't enter the password. Not long after we hung up, maybe only an hour or so later, I got a text from the Beast that said, "Despite the situation, it was lovely to hear your voice." I deleted it. (I'm sorry, was I talking to myself when I said, "I can't be your friend," twenty times?) Several hours after that, I got another text that read: "Belle, I can't believe I have to say this but simply putting a password on your blog so that I can't see it but your followers still can is not the solution. You need to take it down." After a little silent seething, I wrote back to inform him how tumblr worked and that I was insulted that he thought I would gaslight him about something like that, after I told him I'd take it down. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the asshole if we ended the conversation civilly, after I SAID I WOULD TAKE IT DOWN, and he went back to look at it, to check to make sure I'd done what I SAID I WOULD. "Belle," he responds, "I was not trying to insult you. I don't know how tumblr works. Thank you for the clarification." Oh. Well, in that that case, it's definitely fine that your response to your own ignorance was to assume I'd spitefully wronged you further and bring that to my attention. That was a week ago, we haven't spoken since. But remember when I told him that I could tell someone was being shady and digging through every single entry from the hits I got on my IP TRACKER? Apparently, he didn't. For a week, Fall For Fables was just password-locked. I really did think that would be enough (for now) until I figured out what to do. Yesterday, I noticed it had eight hits from an IP address I didn't know (I keep all those I do know labeled so I can sort friend from foe) from Florida. This only struck me as weird because I'd been noticing that, with the password up, it was not logging hits from people trying to access the site. (I know this for fact, I had a friend text me and ask me about it and his IP did not show up as tracked.) So I check and the reason they're showing up as hits, now, is because said Florida IP person has used Google to get to the blog and look through cached versions of a few entries (my nonreciprocal praise of him, my tattoo, playing a nameless "character" in The Devil’s Carnival 2, and what he said about R). Unfortunately, those are still accessible. Fortunately, I've had people do something similar before on my main tumblr, thinking that was a way to circumvent my IP tracker and utterly failing at being able to do so. So between that, the few times this visitor tried to click back to the main page of Fall For Fables and could not, and the two hits to my main tumblr from the same IP, I had to assume this was the desperate act of yet another shady fangirl. So I did what I normally do, screencapped it, and posted it to my main tumblr to remind the thirsty bitches that I see what they're doing and shame on them for it. But this brings up a new issue of...if the cached versions are still accessible, will people still look for them? Will the tattletales still run crying back to the Beast and let him know they're still seeing all of it? Given that the last time he didn't understand how a site worked, he thought it best to yell at me for it, I thought it best to do what I could to minimize the likelihood of this. Because, maybe this is weird, but I don't really want to get dragged again for something that's out of my control. So fortunately, there's a way to remove cached pages from Google. I submit the request, it's granted. But I am nothing if not thorough in my counter-stalkering, so. As much as it pains me, I realize it's time to actually shut down. At R's suggestion, I moved all of my entries to Dreamwidth, a site we use for roleplaying, which is based on a tried-and-true journaling system that, miracles, really understands what "private" means. Protip, on that note: "private" on tumblr just means it doesn't automatically show up in your blog. Posts are still accessible to people with direct links. Drafts are accessible to people who have links. And passwords don't protect you from fucking Google caches. I didn't not know any of that, but it wasn't anything I've ever really had cause to think about until now. So, the more you know. So everything is archived, along with their tags, for the fabled (see what I did there) day that I can figure out where to actually put all this stuff without inviting the immediate threat of attack. Which means it's time to clean out the tumblr. Deleting everything was a little sad, brought back the "I am silenced, I lost" sort of feeling that I'm really trying not to have. Reminder: do I want to lose more hair? No! So do what it takes, for now, to prevent the thing (Beast-induced stress) that you know makes that happen. My new course of action is to just leave the tumblr itself up, unlocked and empty. That way, a) no one else can have the URL and b) I can also record the IP visits I get, inevitably from a few friends (to whom I can privately explain the situation) but mostly from those who sought to muckrake. I also changed the sidebar gif to the gif that my original gif was meant to evoke. Because, as it says, "no1curr". And today? Success. Three hits recorded. Who/where from? THE BEAST. Once again googling something specific (the IP tracker does not allow you to see which keywords logged-in visitors are using, which is hella frustrating sometimes), and trying to go to a link to an entry (this time, the SDCC 2010 recap). That didn't work for him, obviously, so he punches in the address to the address bar. Which also got him nowhere. So he clicks on my archive. And there's nothing there, either. So he seemingly gives up. By the way, guess where he was, this past weekend? If you guessed Florida, for an event, you'd be correct. Digging for dirt where I told him there wouldn't be any, then coming to my mainblr when he couldn't find anything. Wow. This sure is occurring. I can hardly wait until I have to start taking screencaps. Oooh, gurl.

And then.  I couldn’t tell you, for sure, if it was that whoever initially “tattled” on me kept following along and alerting him to what I was saying or if he was doing the stalking himself, but my IP tracker - that I initially set up to hunt down people who were stalking me because of some inkling of my relationship with him - would show hits from him looking at any little post in my mainblr that might be (or usually definitely was...) about him.  And, like clockwork, I would receive a follow-up text from his best friend, the one I (mistakenly) called “Chris”, asking me to please consider Terrance’s feelings and position, to please be careful with what I say online. This went on until some time in December of that year.  I made a post around the anniversary of our breakup, drawing parallels between Jessica Jones and my relationship experiences.  I got another text from “Chris” with the same refrain and I felt like I’d finally hit a wall.  The same wall that Terrance had yanked me into when I first realized I had to delete everything in the first go-around of this blog if I wanted him to leave me alone.  So, I changed my mainblr username and blocked Terrance through every possible outlet I could think of.  I also blocked every single person following me who I thought had any sort of Terrance connection.  I even went so far as to delete almost every single Repo! or TDC-related post from ALL my social media.  I effectively erased myself from the narrative.  I thought that would solve the problem, for good. Maybe a couple days after I changed it, he found my new username (possibly by happenstance, while I have to assume panicking and digging through tumblr for any other possible thing he could play the victim to, based on the links he found it through), and dug through the most recent things I’d posted since changing my username to confirm it was me.  I posted all those screencaps to my mainblr, to make sure everyone understood why I’d changed my username to begin with.  I also posted a follow-up post, with screencaps of him looking at that post.  I like to think that embarrassed him enough to make him quit looking because he hasn’t really since. I’d link all that for you guys, too, since it was ultimately pretty funny, but I know it’s only a matter of time before he finds his way back here and I think it’ll be funnier to watch him scramble to find all the Mean Things I’ve Said About Him On The Internet rather than hand him direct access to any of them.

Long story short: After Jojo’s post on Josephine McCarthy accusing Keyframe (because that’s all he can do these days, make assumptions and “commentate” on the bronalysis community because he’s that of an nuisance) of “breaking copyright laws” because she’s selling shirts with her fan art on it and taking a neutral stance mind you on the matter (basically saying it’s sort of a grey situation when it comes to selling fan art of existing IPs), the fucker decided to again, decide to commentate on us.

Also apparently he says “bronies are breaking copyright laws” because of the fan art and shit.

Hey puto McCarthy, if that’s the case, then so is everyone. Including that once shirt you had that parodied the Straight Outta Compton movie logo.

But please, do enforce how bronies are bad for doing fan art and that equals copyright breaking.

Anyway back to his video.

So again, Josiphine thinks that Key’s breaking “copyright laws” (and that’s there’s no grey area either by some logical reason) because she’s selling shirts with existing IPs on it. Now here’s the thing, that within itself would be a problem..if she was selling it as her own.

She doesn’t own the MLP brand nor any other brand that’s being sold, and it’s fan art at that too.The fan art doesn’t look exactly like the show’s style too.

That’s what prevents it from being C&Ded to say the least because it’s not merch from the show itself.

Now I know Ephrom heard of the Jan Animations controversy that lead to Jan having to cancel Button’s Adventures because copyright.

JAN’S WAS THE FUCKING EXACT TO MLP.

THAT’S what bothered Hasbro. Button’s Adventures looked EXACTLY like the show’s style and that’s what prompted them to go full blown Corporate on Jan.

Yes there are also fan animations that look like the show too, but Jan’s was getting immense exposure because it looked so alike to the show.

Key’s more stylized perspective on the characters and pretty much does fan art of them.

One of the other problems with Jan’s project was that he acted like he owned Button Mash.

Look at him getting pissed off at the fact Button’s cameos and later on in the MLP Mobile game. He flat out acted like he owned Button Mash despite the fact all he really did was popularize the character (before the C&D ruined the Mash and lead to Derpibooru developing some sort of hate towards him).

Ephrom also says there’s no “grey area” for artists to do commissions for fans who wanna see their favorite characters done by them.

Again, are you saying fan art is bad in general, because if that’s the damn case, then not just Hasbro, but ANY corporation would have shut down any convention that sells fan merch/fan art and by some extent, they would have started shutting down all artists who commission.
