You know how in the early days of the internet, you had to pause long videos so that they could fully load to avoid it freezing and buffering?

Can companies stop removing that feature, please? Not everyone has good or consistent internet and that feature is still needed. My partner and I just rented a movie because we've been wanting to watch it, and it wasn't on any of the streaming services available in Australia. We paid $6 for it, and we can't watch it because it freezes every few minutes, and it doesn't appear to allow it to load ahead of time, since pausing did nothing.

Youtube does it now too, it'll only load a little bit ahead, so we still end up having to pause and give it a second on longer videos. Even if you leave it paused for an hour it'll still only load a few minutes ahead of where you are.

Tech companies, streaming platforms, entertainment companies, whoever, if youre going to force people to use online streaming to access your stuff, at least make it actually usable for folks outside of US cities, we dont all have speedy/stable internet, stuff like this is still needed.

Luke takes after Padme and Leia takes after Anak- NO. Luke takes after padme until a situation gains any kind of stakes and then he employs anakin's tactic of solving problems (breaking shit and diving headfirst into trouble), and Leia takes after anakin but she employs padme's problem solving tactics(diplomacy and patience until the situation becomes very, very dire).

Also just characterizing luke as padme and leia as anakin is disrespectful to all characters involved lmao. It becomes 'luke is a soft mannered boy who cannot do confrontations' and 'leia is a ball of rage who's gurlboss and closer to the dark side' when like. Padme and anakin are not like that, first of all, and also it's giving 'one emo twin and one preppy twin because we cannot portray different enough characters without highlighting surface traits to the max' energy in those cheesy sitcom movies.

Let them both be fiery and gentle and girlboss and soft and whatever else! The characterization comes from when they show these traits, not from which traits make up their whole personality.

it's not only the studio executives it also agents who hold productions hostage with extortionate and unreasonable demands for their talent, leaving little budget for crew. The budget is often there but the 'talent' and their various consultant fees for their mates and PAs and pets and accomodation demands use it all up. Now I'm being kind and putting the blame here on greedy agents looking for commissions rather than the talent themselves but these actors walking out of premieres in 'solidarity' could maybe re-examine their own cushy contracts and demand pay transparency for their crew idk

I always end up loving Undertale AUs then being dissapointed with how the fandom portrays them. That, or I find something in the canonverse that disappoints me.

(rant ahead, prepare for my opinions. keep in mind some of my headmates may disagree or have other opinions as well. If youre gonna comment being butthurt, just dont read this.)

Firstly, Flowerfell is such a lovely AU, but a majority of people ruined it by turning it into a Frans story. Like...it was never intended to be Frans. It was meant to be Frisk lighting up the dark world that is the fellverse by proving WITH THEIR LIFE that kindness is enough. Their bond was platonic and lovely, and heartwarming, and everyone swarmed all over it insisting it was frans (which is disgusting anyways, considering Sans is an adult.) like...i want more dunkle flowerfell Sans content please. its sad to have to check and make sure flowerfell art isnt tagged as “frans.”

And then a majority of the fandom made Underfell Papyrus and Sans have a terrible relationship. like, sure, playful insults are one thing, they even do it in classic Undertale...but why are people obsessed with them having an abusive relationship in fellverse?? It would be so much more logical for Sans and Papyrus to rely on each other and be close, considering not much else would be going for ‘em. Sure, their affections probably would be laced in aggresion but...still affectionate, yknow??

And then in Underswap, 90% of the time it just feels like a stupid body-swap situation + their persoanlities get magnified like 400% more than usual. Theres very few people I’ve seen make Underswap entertaining and interesting (i think maybe four or five people at most,) two of which is missholoska and catboymoments. ‘Sides that, the AU is just boring and kindaaa offputting with how most of the fandom portrays it. (if you disagree, thats fine, but this is my opinion)

Horrortale is great, its just how they portrayed Papyrus’s downfall that throws me off (more on that here, written by William.) That and the fact that they havent broken the barrier yet despite like...so many humans falling down. Seriously, where are the human souls going, WHY ARENT ANYONE KEEPING TRACK OF THEM??

Glitchtale...I could rant FOREVER about how the fandom treats Betty as a character. Especially when they ship her with other characters...like...um...she has no chemistry with any of them. The only thing she really did during her time knowing them was manipulate her way into their lives to kill them and control them. She doesnt care about any of them, and has no backstory with them either.

Surprisingly, I have no gripes with what ive seen of other AUs i enjoy, BUT that might be because I missed the bad stuff. Idk.

it still amazes me nintendo added matchmaking to X rank to make them fair fights, and then didn't add it to the other modes. turf war whatever skill and comp doesn't matter until the last 30 seconds anyways but anarchy is legitimately unplayable half the time because they refuse to Not put me on a team of three heavy splatlings and a luna or something stupid like that
