My Incorrect Universe #97
*At Avengers HQ*
Loki: I don’t think we can mansplain, manipulate, or malewife our way out of it this time.
Bucky, cracking his knuckles: manslaughter it is.
Me, spritzing them with a water spray bottle: hey! no! bad!
*meanwhile in Mirkwood*
Me: I can't believe you tried to assassinate Thorin!
Thranduil: Well, 'assassinate' implies it was politically motivated. I tried killing him because he is a dick, so technically I tried to murder him
Me: ohhhh
Elrond, his blood pressure rising: THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT ANY BETTER-
*me whenever Loki and Bucky misbehave*:

MASTERLIST OF THE STORY
Chapter 25: Grief.
“Hi,” Y/N told the therapist when she opened the door to her office.
“Y/N,” she responded with a nod. She took a seat and the doctor did the same thing, opposite to her. “Tell me, how have you been? It's been a while, ever since the accident happened.”
“Yes, it's been a while…” She sighed. “Can I be honest?” The doctor nodded. “I'm in the best moment of my life and also I feel like I'm about to fall apart any second.” She admitted, and Dr. Lee hummed.
“Okay, why do you say you are in the best moment of your life?” Y/N smiled softly.
“Nobody knows this yet, but I'm in a relationship with Loki. You know Loki, I've talked to you about him.” She paused. “Well it's not specifically a relationship but we kissed, multiple times now.”
“Mhm, you did tell me about him. And how do you feel about that?”
“Great! It's… he is great and I… really care for him.”
“Mhm,”
“So, yeah. I have that going on, and Tony and Pepper told us a few days ago that they are getting married, which is very exciting. And in general, they are all so great and I love them so much and I'm so happy.”
“And why do you say you feel like you are going to fall apart any second?” She asked her, with patience, as always.
“Well, sometimes happiness feels bittersweet to me.”
“Mhm, how?”
“Um, I just… feel so angry when I feel happy, and also when I don't. I think this is a lie or am I ever going to feel something else than sadness and pain? But it all comes down to not being able to feel what I feel without it being clouded by a bitter feeling, like I'm rotting from the inside.”
“You are angry.” The doctor told her.
“Um, yes?”
“Yeah, you are angry, but you don't express it and you haven't been expressing it for a while, so you feel as if it's destroying you from the inside out.”
“Yeah…” She said, confused. What she was saying was true, but how could she express her emotions? They were fatal, horrible things. “How can I change that?”
“Well, first you are honest with yourself, and me.” She nodded. “Why are you angry?”
“Because…” She sighed. “It's not a why, it's who I'm angry at.”
“Go on.”
“I'm angry at my family for everything they did while being alive and I'm also angry at them for leaving me with all this pain to carry on my own.” Tears started to gather in her eyes. “I'm angry at the universe, for all this mess, for giving me the greatest gift after the greatest pain of my life. I'm angry at myself, for being angry, for feeling so broken after I tried so hard to put myself together again; for being so ungrateful.”
“Y/N,” Dr. Lee told her, “you are not ungrateful, nor are you broken. You are grieving, and this is what grief does, it makes us feel angry, then sad, then grateful, then spiteful and many more things, in a nonlinear way, which makes it more confusing.” Y/N nodded, wiping her tears away. “We are going to work on this okay?”
“Yes,” she answered, sniffling.
The rest of the session they talked about many things, including her birthday, which she didn't want to celebrate. When she got back from it, she let everyone know that she didn't want to celebrate it, and to please treat it as a normal day, which everyone understood.
When the day came, they only smiled at her as they always did, and carried on with their chores for the day, which relieved and hurt Y/N in equal measures. God, grief was confusing.
                                                -----------------------------
Y/N was sitting down with Pietro and Nat when her phone rang.
“Hello,” she said.
“Y/N!” It was Sarah.
“Oh hi! I didn't see your name on the caller ID.”
“No, I'm calling you from my house number.”
“Oh, okay. How are you?”
“I'm great, I was wondering if you'd like to come to my place tonight to have a sleepover.”
“A sleepover?” Y/N asked.
“Yeah, I know we are probably too old to have a sleepover but I never did it when I was younger so I thought-”
“Sarah! I would love to! What time should I be there?” She interrupted her.
“How about seven?”
“I'll see you at seven then, bye!” She exclaimed, excited.
“Bye!”
She hung up the phone and smiled at the speedster and the spy.
“I have to go get ready, I'm having a sleepover tonight!”

[please blacklist spoiler tags: #loki tv series spoilers, #loki series spoilers, #loki spoilers]
I need to talk about the Avengers.
I just want to express how much I hate that the Avengers aren’t on the hook for all their time travel nonsense bc they were “supposed to” do it and Loki is on the hook bc he wasn’t.
I mean, I am glad that they addressed it right away - that Loki was inadvertantly caught up in the Avengers' time meddling, and that apparently they were doing what they were supposed to and that's why none of them were on trial, but - there are two things going on here that I have issue with. One is, of course, the scapegoating of Loki once a-fucking-gain, but the other is that there's a legitimate problem inherent in framing the Avengers' deeds as The Right Thing So There Are No Consequences, especially because it directly leads to Loki (and only Loki) being scapegoated since, apparently, someone's got to answer for all of this.
Why Were The Avengers Supposed to Undo the Snap??
Of all the possible options they could have gone with (such as reversing time back to just before the Snap happened), going back through time to gather the stones and use them to undo things five years later is, like, one of the worst?? Best case scenario, it implies that the TVA is ridiculously incompetent in managing the sacred timeline and worst case scenario, it implies that the TVA is ridiculously adept in managing the sacred timeline, if their goal is to have it be the worst possible timeline anyone could end up in.
The Avengers may have done an arguably good thing in undoing the Snap - I don't disagree that those people should've lived - but they also royally fucked over a lot of things in the process and left Earth (and presumably many many other worlds) in total post-Snap chaos while fucking off to die be with their families and/or start new lives.
This goes back to the plan itself. One of my many issues with Endgame is that not only is the plan convoluted and, frankly, stupid, but also I have a real problem with the concept of the Avengers just saving the world as they see fit, regardless of whether or not that's actually the best thing to do. (If the Russos hadn't done such a shit job with explaining what the Accords were actually supposed to do, then maybe this could have been addressed somehow - like, okay, together we may have the brains and resources to carry off this plan but does that mean we're the ultimate authority on whether or not we should? Maybe we should check with, like, the UN or something about this? [and it’s entirely possible the UN was mentioned and I have forgotten it bc I’ll be honest, I watched Endgame once and have bitched about it ever since.] I digress.)
The narrative in Endgame and into the MCU beyond plays like the Avengers only care about saving the world when they stand to personally gain from it (they want their friends and family back, they want to feel like they didn't fail, they have unilaterally decided that what they want is the Best Thing for everyone) and once the Good Deed is done and the smoke clears from the battlefield, there's no concern with saving the mess of the world they created.
TFatWS addressed so many of the problems with the post-reverse-Snap, which implies that the MCU (both in-universe and out) is aware that things are fucked up now. People's lives were literally ruined by what the Avengers did. Refugees are displaced. Humans are coming back to a world where they've been dead for five years and their loved ones have moved on and their homes have been sold and their bank accounts have been closed and they have no jobs. And that’s just on Earth. Yet no one (again, both in-universe and out) feels the need to hold the Avengers accountable for any of this.
Plus, what about the people who died as a result of the Snap but not from the Snap directly? What about the planes that fell from the sky when the pilots turned to dust? The cars that crashed and collided when the drivers poofed? Etc. Like, fuck all of those people I guess?
And who, exactly, is "supposed to" clean up the Avengers' mess now that the actual Avengers are either dead, old and living on the moon, or retired? Is it on Sam's shoulders alone (or, rather, Sam and Bucky's)? Is Peter Parker (yknow, the 15 year old Nick Fury went and recruited bc there was no one else) supposed to be fixing things?
The TVA takes responsibility for none of this. They sit back in their nightmare DMV-esque office and claim that all is as it should be but my question remains: please explain to me how the outcome of the post-Snap universe is ultimately satisfactory to anyone besides the Avengers?
There's also the fact that Loki figures out right away that the Avengers were engaging in some time travel shenanigans ("the cologne of two Tony Starks is hard to miss” lmfao Loki you snarky shit). Loki recognizes that there's been an opportunity created of which he can take advantage, but he isn't responsible for creating it. The Avengers messed up and created that opportunity so, even if they were supposed to be doing what they were doing, there are still no consequences for the fact that they made a mistake that allowed Loki to then branch off and create a new timeline.
Let's also say that we accept that the Avengers were supposed to undo the Snap exactly as they did. Okay, sure. BUT:
- Was Steve, then, also supposed to decide to fuck back off to the 1940s and marry Peggy (which created two Steves, right? The one who was married to Peggy all along and the one who was in the ice?? The TVA is just okay with two Steves?)?
- What is the actual point of Stephen Strange having the time stone and using the time stone both to gain the advantage over Darmammushumuuyourmom (I’m sorry, I can’t remember his real name) and to look at all the possible timelines to figure out how to defeat Thanos?
- How is it possible that there are 14 million potential timelines in which the Avengers failed if the TVA’s entire thing is that there can only be one true ring timeline to rule them all? The fact that Stephen can look ahead and determine so many outcomes based on the choices they're making would mean that people do have free will and that their actions aren't automatically dictated by what's “supposed to” happen. They had to make the right choices in order to get to the one timeline in which Thanos failed.
- What’s the point of Stephen having to protect the time stone, anyway, if there are presumably a few others in Casey’s drawer?
- On that note, if there are a lot of infinity stones hanging around in the TVA’s desk drawers, what makes the original six the specific, correct ones that Thanos had to collect in order to pull off the Snap and why is it then those specific six the ones that the Avengers had permission to go back through time to get in order to undo the Snap as the Timekeepers intended?
- And actually, in fact, if there’s only one sacred timeline and anyone who fucks it up without permission gets “reset” (aka made nonexistent, along with their timeline branch) then, again, why does Stephen have to protect the time stone? Either anyone who steals it was supposed to, or their timeline gets eliminated and the theft ceases to matter.
- Less significant but also still kinda significant is how Agents of SHIELD figures into all of this. The TVA knows that Loki killed Coulson but they don't know (or don't care?) that Coulson was brought back to life and proceeded, with his team, to go on and get heavily involved in time travel and going back and forth and bringing people from the past into the present? So the TVA is okay with Daniel Sousa leaving his timeline but not with Loki leaving his?
... I have literally confused myself with all of this, so if anyone followed my train of thought here, congratulations and maybe you can explain it to me lmao.
But here's my ultimate point: the sacred timeline that the TVA is tasked with maintaining is not sensical or linear. It's full of gaps and holes and people taking matters into their own hands to determine both their own fates and the fates of others. As a result, a lot of people suffer kinda needlessly based on the events in said timeline, and apparently it's perfectly fine for all of this nonsense to occur so that everyone else has some element of control -
- but Loki is literally the only one who is told uh, actually, no, you are supposed to live a shitty life and die a pointless death and there's not a goddamn thing you can do about it bc it's supposed to happen.
What in the actual fuck kind of logic is that???
Thus, either the TVA (and the Timekeepers) are grossly incompetent, or else they're extremely competent and also really fucking shitty beings who just enjoy the needless suffering of others.
And somehow this is all Loki's fault!!
And then Mobius has the fucking audacity to say, to Loki's face, “you only exist to prop up everyone else and you, Loki Odinsonson Laufeyson mischief god and king of space lol, do not have any inherent worth or value as your own person. You were born to be a scapegoat and you will die a scapegoat and there's no getting around that, if we have anything to say about it.”
To quote Loki, in a very twisted way - yes, it's funny. It's absurd.
Does, uh, does this make sense? At some point I crossed over from meta-writing into straight up ranting and so, well, here we are.

Imagine Finding a Way to Save Tony
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side Note:   This is long but I wanted to establish your character’s background and develop relationships!
Warning: If you have not seen Endgame, there will be spoilers!   Y/N=Your Name, F/N=First Name, L/N=Last Name
Tony Stark x Reader. Platonic!Reader x Dr. Strange, Platonic!Avengers x Reader. The Reader does have an age gap but she’s still over 18!
One last note: This takes place between Dr. Strange, Civil War, and Ragnarok while ending in Endgame.
You traveled with Captain Marvel throughout the galaxy, just before Thanos arrived. Along the way you learned you had a natural ability to magic so as Carol went out and saved the universe from every danger that showed it’s ugly head, you stayed back and learned all that you could from the strange masters.
Healing was one of your abilities. It used a mixture of light magic and water. But this wasn’t just any water; this water came from the most sacred place in the galaxy. A place known as the Sanitatem. Here, the magic users master the arts ranging from minor cuts and scrapes all the way down to severe burns and essentially bringing someone back from the dead.
Your journey separated you from your life long companion as a distress signal radiated among the ship you came to know and love.
“I’ll see you soon, (Y/N). You’re going to do fine.” Carol mumbled with a sad smile. You gave her a firm hug, fighting the tears that threatened to fall.
“It’s just the Masters of the Mystic Arts. I’m already a Sorceress of the Practical Arts, how hard can this be?” You weakly joked.  “Besides, I’ve been meaning to stop by Earth; the Ancient One is said to be there. Maybe she can teach me the last of the magical arts.”
Carol hugged you firmly one last time. Once the two of you said your goodbyes, you departed with a silent spell; Ianuae Magicae.
Earth was everything you had imagined it to be. Or at least how you remembered it to be before the Kree Empire took Carol and inadvertently you. Following the distress signal, you met up with Dr. Stephen Strange inside the New York Sanctum. His face grim, his lips in a thin line as if he was chewing on them subconsciously.
“You must be (Y/N) (/L/N), I’ve heard many things about you.”
“Good things I hope.” You mumbled sheepishly.
A smile pulled at the corner of his lips. “Good things, yes. I called you here for a reason, (Y/N). Earth will be needing your services when Thanos comes.”
Your eyebrow quirked up. “Oh? In what way?”
Dr. Strange smirked. “If I told you, it wouldn’t come true.”
You rolled your eyes playfully. “Ah yes, time mumbo jumbo. Don’t wanna ruin any surprises.”
You paused for a moment, looking over your shoulder to the big city behind the two of you. “I have a feeling I’ll be meeting someone here. Someone...important to me.”
Dr. Strange hummed. “Come, you want to learn the Mystic Arts, correct?”
Your eyes shinned brightly. “Yes. I’ve heard nothing but mysterious things about the Ancient One and her students.”
You chattered excitedly to Dr. Strange as he lead you through the Sanctums and finally to Kamar-Taj. Over the months, you trained along side your newest friend and mentor, Dr. Strange. You weren’t up to his level, nor did you think you would ever be but that didn’t phase you or him. You both knew where one of you were stronger in the Mystic Arts, the other was stronger in the Practical Arts. Eventually you would end up fighting along his side when Dormammu arrived; helping Stephen seal him away and gaining the Infinity Stone.
Although your training was complete, you stayed with Dr. Strange learning more magic than your heart knew how to handle; your daily tasks included helping Strange categorized any and all mythical threats on Earth.
Then one day, you met him.  It was an accident, honestly. You were out trying to locate some greek demigods that accidentally destroyed a minor part of a museum last night and had no intentions on meeting anyone when in the state of daydreaming, walked face first into the one and only Tony Stark.
The two of you got along almost immediately. Your emphatic abilities picked up on almost every distressing emotion this poor man has subjected himself to. It was overwhelming to you but still you couldn’t help the blush that formed across your cheeks when he started using some stupid pick up lines and witty conversations.
Your dates were romantic, and over the top just as he was. Every day brought a new adventure between the two of you and arguments were far and few in between. Eventually you were brave enough to tell him the powers you had, and he immediately told you he was Iron Man, and thus was already used to the strange and unusual. You wanted to mention you already knew who he was, considering everyone does but you kept it to yourself.
You found yourself blabbing a lot to Stephen about your new relationship with Tony. You couldn’t contain yourself.
“So you’re in love.” He said almost flatly. He walked around you, looking at maps of the multiverse.
Your head snapped to look at him; eyes wide. A new emotion flooded you. One you weren’t one accustomed to since being with Tony, and Stephen. You were scared.
“...Yeah...I guess you could say that.”
“(Y/N), you know that’s a dangerous game to play in our work. Especially with what the outcome is supposed to be.”
“There has to be a way.” You nearly yelled and stood up quickly from your chair. “I can’t...” You were breathless.
You moved through rows and rows of books; some of them were just as ancient as the building was. Stephen appeared next to you, a look of forlorn on his face. He brought you into a bit of an awkward hug in an attempt to comfort you.
“I can’t lose him, Stephen.” You breathed into his shoulder.
“I told you getting too close would be disastrous for you.” He joked weakly. You shoved his shoulder lightly, pulling away from him.
“I know I can’t change destiny but I have to try.”
Stephen didn’t stop you. You wouldn’t let him even if he tried.
The months flew by. You were getting closer and closer to Tony by each passing day, eventually moving in with him. You met some of the Avengers through your travels. You took a big liking to Wanda, and although Natasha was a bit weary of the age gap between you and Tony, she eventually warmed up to you, as did Clint. Steve seemed nice but he was troubled about something. You wanted to ask him about who this Bucky person was, but seeing the pain in his eyes the ache in his soul, you decided not to. You met Thor when he came barreling into the Sanctum declaring he was looking for his father, Odin. Stephen was more than glad to show him the way.
On a rainy night in the middle of spring, you found yourself slow dancing in the middle of Tony and your’s shared living room that overlooked the Big Apple, the lights were dimmed, the music was soft and slow. Your head was laid on his chest, listening to his heart beat. You were content, but something lingered in the back of your mind. Thanos was coming; you could feel it in your bones. But there was something else that bothered you. Tony seemed nervous.
“What’s wrong, love? You seem nervous.” You whispered softly to him.
“Me? Nervous?” He scoffed softly. “Never.”
You raised your head to look at him. A smile poking through his nervous demeanor.
“You know you can’t lie to me.” You breathed. Raising one of your hands from his lower back, you cupped his face in the palm of your hand. Your finger tips just brushing through the ends of his hair. He leaned into your hand, his much larger hand cupping your smaller ones.
“Y/N, I have something I’ve been meaning to say...for a while now.” He pulled you apart from him. You remained where he left you, as you watch him move to his bar. He took a swig of what you would assume is whiskey then watch him come nervously back to you with one of his hands behind his back.
“Y/N, we’ve been through a lot the last couple of years. Steve doing his thing with Bucky, that thing with Loki and New York, and now finding the Infinity Stones...” Tony sighed deeply, his free hand taking one of yours.
“I have loved you since the moment you walked into me,” He teased, his eyes glimmering with playfulness. You scoffed loudly. “Hey it was fate, okay?”
You went to rip your hand from his, but he tightened the grip around your wrist.
“In all seriousness, Y/N, Marry me.” He blurted out.
You stood there in shock. Your mind reeling with emotions. Then you started crying. Tony seemed taken back.
“A simple no, not today would’ve worked better.” He pulled you close to him, the pain of rejection radiating from his chest.
“N-no,” you bubbled out, “these are tears of joy. Yes, I’ll Marry you Anthony Edward Stark.”
He flinched. “Why did you have to say my full name like that?”
You looked up at him with wide, bloodshot eyes. The both of you started to laugh uncontrollably. His forehead resting upon yours as you resumed dancing in his arms once again. He slipped the very impressive rock on your finger.
“I love you Y/N L/N. Always have, always will.” He whispered to you.
The two of you shared a kiss just as thunder rolled in the night sky.
Finally the time had come. Thanos was upon Earth. You spent many nights worrying if Tony was ever going to come home. It was futile. You trusted Stephen Strange even though he kept the events a secret. You knew his methods, you knew his magic. He did this to protect the timeline. Still, your heart was aching. You lost your best friend, and your lover all with one snap of Thanos’s fingers.
You sat with Natasha in her office, watching her trying not to have a mental break down. The meeting had ended, the remaining Avengers were taking control of any minor problems that had arrived since Thanos wiped off half of humanity. Her emotions were well hidden but the sadness crept into your brain like a drug.
“Y/N! Natasha! You guys may wanna come see this!” Steve shouted over the earpiece. The two of you shared a look, and immediately ran outside. The sight had you on your knees in tears.
Flying down from the sky, was not only Tony’s ship but Carol Danvers herself. She was the first one you hugged, the tears pouring onto your shoulder as she clung to your body.
“I have missed you so much.” You choked.
“I’ve missed you too.” She mumbled as she let go of your shaking form. She brushed the tears from your cheeks, and hinted over her shoulder.
“There’s someone else you may want to see.”
Tony came wobbling down the platform. His weakened frame was supported by Nebula’s taller robotic frame. It didn’t even click in your brain he had no energy, no strength to support you but you ran to him anyway. He tried as hard as he could to keep you from collapsing on him.
“You’re Alive.” You mumbled over, and over again. Tony said nothing. He held you close to him and to both of you that was enough.
Five years would pass by.
Five years of Thanos’s destruction. You and Tony were married now. You had a beautiful house in the middle of the woods far from society. You had a daughter, who may have looked like Tony but shared your affinity for magic. She was talented that much you knew. You couldn’t wait to train her in the Mystic and Practical Arts.
Then the fateful knock came. You saw them arriving just before they came knocking at your door. An argument occurred that night. An argument that you knew would arrive sooner or later. You had hoped for later. Much later.
“They need you, Tony.”
“You need me. Our daughter needs me.” He struggled over his own emotions. The turmoil battled between his wants and his needs. Tony just invented time travel, the opportunity to fix everything had come.
You stood and moved slowly over to him. His pacing was making you anxious. You placed his hands on the his cheeks, and smiled softly at him.
“Stephen put his trust in you that you would fix this mess, and I trust him and you. We’re going to win this, Tony.”
It took a lot of convincing that night but when morning came, the Avengers were loosely back together.
The fight with Thanos was crippling but the odds were stacked against him this time. Steve became a broken bleeding mess, Tony was almost the same way. Natasha was dead, and you...you were clinging on to the last hope you had. Your powers swirled deep within your core.
It was now or never.
Just as you raised your hands to release the ultimate power that swelled within you, portals opened up behind you. Tons of them too. You looked behind you, and smiled the biggest smile you ever had in years. Your friends, the Avengers that once vanished into thin air, were now here along side you and your comrades.
You looked to Stephen. “I found away.” You mouthed. You pointed to the chain around your neck. A single vial hung around the chain and laid on your chest.
“I hope it works out.” Stephen would say to you.
“I know it will.” You countered.
During the battle, Tony found his way to the gloved hand that carried the infinity stones. You fought along side Wanda, and Peter, making sure no enemies would attack your reunited family.
Noticing the end was near, you ran to Tony just as he snapped his fingers. The light was blinding and the force was felt across the multiverse. Thanos and minions vanished into nothing just as humanity did years ago. You caught Tony in your arms just as he crumpled from the burns that etched his body
Peter joined your side, his face etched with worry. “Your going to be okay, Mr. Stark.”
You smiled weakly at Peter. “Everything’s going to be okay, Peter. I promise.”
Stephen placed a firm hand on Peter’s shoulders. The two of them back off a bit allowing you enough space to prop Tony up on the rock behind him. You took the vial from around your neck and clasped it in your hand. You focused your powers to the vial; a light blue light shimmered around it, engulfing your hand.
Tony eyed you a bit wearily. “We’re going home together. All of us.” You told him firmly.
You placed your hand on his cheek, and focused on the burned skin surrounding your fingers. The water flooded through his veins, glowing a warm white light as it healed the torched wounds.
“I’ll need to take you to Sanitatem to fully heal your wounds.” You whispered to him. “But this should heal the worst of them.”
Tony pulled you close to him.
Peter  nearly sobbed as he raced to join the now group hug.  You gave a watery laugh as the three of you were smooshed into the bear hug.
You helped Tony to his feet as the newly rejoined Avengers return to the current day Earth.
“Lets go home.”

The Competition of Misdirection Ch. 9
Nina’s POV
           “Can I talk to you for a moment?” Bucky asked me.
           “Sure. What’s up?”
           “Can we go somewhere-,”
           “Nina, suit up. We need to calm a group of people in Brooklyn. They’re trying to create a chaotic cult hell bent on destroying Los Angeles. For simply existing,” Tony cut him off.
           “Okay. Be right there,” I said. I turned my attention back to Bucky. “What did you need to talk to me about?”
           “Nothing. Go. You’re needed. It can wait,” he said. I smiled and placed my hand on his shoulder before leaving. This was the first day of a long week. We got back late, and I’d been too tired to approach Bucky to see what he wanted. The next day I wanted the chance to tell him how I felt. I found him in the training room and decided to help him spar.
           “About yesterday. What did you want to talk about?” I asked. I dodged a punch but failed to spot him sweeping his leg under me. I landed on my ass, getting up to face him again.
           “Pay attention to my movements. I wanted to say that I-,”
           “Can we train with you two?” Nat interrupted. She was accompanied by Sam, both dressed in workout clothes.
           “Sure,” I said. I didn’t want to be rude and keep them from training. There went my chance of saying anything.
           “Go on. What were you saying?” I said to Bucky.
           “Never mind. I’ll tell you later,”
           “Oh, there won’t be a later. We’re supposed to train with Strange again today,” Sam said. He blocked a kick to his ribs.
           “Also, Wanda wanted an impromptu girls’ night,” Nat stated. Damn, no time to squeeze in with Bucky, I thought.
             “Did Stephen really ask you out?” Tony asked me. Another day, more distractions.
           “Yeah and I turned him down,” I replied.
           “Really? I thought he’d be your type,”
           “I don’t like him as anything more than a friend,” I tapped my foot impatiently. I wanted to see Bucky. Too bad he’d been taken on a mission with Clint.
           “Loki tried kissing you too, right?”
           “Why so curious about the two magic users making a move on me?” I spat out.
           “Why are you upset? I thought you’d be happy about being pursued by potential lovers,” Tony said. He waggled his eyebrows at me, annoying me more.
           “They’re not who I want,” I muttered.
           “What?”
           “Nothing. When are Clint and Bucky supposed to be back?”
           “Tomorrow night. Why?” someone else answered. I turned to face Steve.
           “No reason. I wanted to talk to Bucky about something,” I said.
           “You could call him,” Tony suggested.
           “It’s not something I want to discuss over the phone,” It was getting increasingly difficult to confess everything. When we usually had time to spend together, it appeared as if this week, we were too busy to get any in. Someone wanted us all of the time, leaving none for us to be alone in the same room…or country. All this was doing was making more nervous.
           Tomorrow night turned into two more days – Clint and Bucky returned at midnight on Friday. A note was slid under my door an hour later.
           ‘Meet me on the roof. 3 a.m.’ it read. Two more hours. I could do that.
 3 a.m.
           I pulled my cardigan tighter around me against the chilly New York air. I heard the door to the roof shut and turned to see Bucky walking towards me.
           “Hi,” he greeted me.
           “Hi,”
           “Alone at last. I’ve been dying to talk to you,” he said. He wrapped his arms around me. Bucky was warm and I tried to push my body closer to him. He laughed and rested his forehead on the top of my head.
           “I wanted to talk to you too,” I told him.
           “You first,”
           “No, you,”
           “At the same time, then,” he suggested. I nodded.
           “I love you,” we spoke in unison. My breath hitched and I stepped back to look at him.
           “What?” I asked him. I needed to hear him say it again.
           “I love you. You…you love me? Please tell me I didn’t imagine it,” Bucky said.
           “I love you. You heard correctly. I always have. You’re the one I told Strange I am in love with,”
           “Come here,” I walked back to him and he leaned in to kiss me. Our lips brushed against each other, the moment tender and beautiful. Time stopped and it was only Bucky and me kissing on a rooftop. When he pulled back, he touched our foreheads together, holding my hands, our fingers entwined.
           “Can I take you on a date? Officially?” he asked.
           “Yes,”
           “Good. Tomorrow night. Horseback riding and then dinner,” We walked back in, sharing a kiss before going to bed.
              Stephen Strange had enough of the competition. He had been rejected and he had been fine with it. He planned to tell Loki he was done. Maybe he’d get a chance with Nina. Maybe if she found out Bucky didn’t like her the same way she liked him. He still had hope. Stephen only wanted the best for her. He didn’t want to compete anymore. Stephen would put an end to it. There would most likely be an argument between them. He didn’t expect for the one person he grew to like to overhear everything.
             Loki still wanted to play games, though she had turned from him. He didn’t think the competition was over. He thought he could still win it. He didn’t care. He knew he could win her over. He wanted to beat Stephen Strange and take Nina from him. He didn’t see the signs pointing away from him. He miscalculated how she felt about him. Loki didn’t know about Bucky, didn’t see how Nina looked at the soldier. He didn’t expect the other sorcerer to put an end to the competition. What would come after would shock him.
 Nina’s POV
           “Where are you two headed off to?” Steve asked. Bucky and I were about to go on our first date; horseback riding and then dinner afterwards. Not that we wanted anyone to know. Not yet.
           “We’re going to have a little fun. It’s been a while since we spent time alone together,” I told him. I linked my arm with Bucky’s arm; it wasn’t anything different from our usual antics, but it held a special meaning to our hearts. Steve raised his eyebrows, scanning between the two of us.
           “Are…you two going on a date?” he asked.
           “Maybe. It’s not really any of your business. Don’t wait on us for dinner. We’ll be gone for a few hours,” Bucky said.
           “Okay, sure. You lovebirds have a good time. Date or no date,” Steve said. I guessed he had his own suspicions about what we were up to. It almost seemed as if he wanted the date to happen, even though we hadn’t confirmed anything. He crossed his arms over his chest, winking as we waved goodbye and walked out the door. We rode down to a stable in Brooklyn and rented two horses for two hours. As we rode, we talked about when to tell out friends about us.
           “I say we wait until tomorrow. We have the time for ourselves tonight, but I don’t want to wait too long to say anything. Steve already suspects something, so it’ll only be a matter of time before everyone else catches on,” Bucky stated.
           “Good plan. No one can keep a secret for too long before everyone else figures it out. Besides, I have a desire to kiss you all night. I doubt anyone wants to witness it,” I said. He grinned and reached over to grab my reins. He pulled us to a stop, leaning over to kiss me. Sparks shot through me and I shivered from it; in a good way of course. He kissed me once more, pulling away to peer into my eyes.
           “I love you. I’m glad to be able to take you on a date. I’ve wanted this for a long time,” he told me. I linked my fingers with his.
           “I love you too. We should have done this sooner. I shouldn’t have kept my love for you a secret. I guess I was afraid if I told you, you might not have felt the same way,” I told him.
           “We’re doing it now. That’s all that matters. I’ve been waiting my entire life for you. If it were up to me, I’d marry you now if I could,” My lips parted slightly open in response. We’d only started dating, but I knew our love had grown for us to be soulmates. I wanted to marry him as well, but I was in no rush.
           “Bucky, I…”
           “Relax. I’m not asking you now. I want to wait for the right moment for it. For now, we can take things slow. Enjoy each other,” He brushed his free hand over my inner thigh; heat flooded through me, wetness pooled at my center.
           “Indulge in passion,” he continued, whispering into my ear. My breath hitched and it took everything not to speed back to the stables and take him right there in this moment. Instead, I cleared my throat and met his eyes.
           “Just so you know, I would’ve married you today if you wanted to,” I said. He blinked, his jaw dropping open in surprise. I smirked and propelled my horse forward, daring him to a challenge to chase me. He took it and we sped back to the stables, anyway, bringing our time to an end.
           For dinner, we opted for something simple; burgers, fries, and beer. We figured we were already going to be a little dirty from riding horses and didn’t want to be too fancy. Afterwards, we decided to stroll around the city holding hands and enjoying time together. The thoughts from earlier returned and I wanted…no, needed to get him back to the compound so I could “indulge in passion” so to speak.
           “Is everything okay?” Bucky asked.
           “Yeah. Why do you ask?”
           “You’ve gone quiet and you keep staring at me like-,”
           “I want you to touch me,” I blurted out. I gasped at my outburst but stood my ground as his eyes widened.
           “Sorry. I-,” Bucky cut me off by kissing me. He pulled my body flush against his, clutching my shirt, one hand brushing against my skin. His tongue sought and found entrance to my mouth; fiery electricity spread through my belly, then lower; my hands threaded through his hair, taking hold to tug him closer if it was even possible. We broke apart, breathing heavy.
           “Back to the compound, then,” he said. We turned around to get to his motorcycle and rode back home. We went around to the back entrance; sure no one could see us and up to my room to continue our passionate night.
  The Next Day
             Stephen Strange stormed to the compound. It was time to put an end to the competition. There was nothing else to be done. There would be no more hangouts unless they were platonic in nature. Nina’s feelings were made clear. He didn’t want to play games anymore, though he never had. No more sabotage. He was content to be friends with her. He needed to stop Loki from going forward with it.
           “Hey Strange. What are you doing here?” Tony greeted him.
           “Loki. Where is he?” Stephen replied.
           “I think he’s in the lounge. What’s this…about? So, you’re now gone,” Tony said, sighing as Stephen bolted past him. Loki, upon seeing the other sorcerer stalk towards him, got up from his seat and met him halfway.
           “Come to fight today? What’s your plan to get her out of the compound? Museums? No, wait. It’ll probably be some-,”
           “We’re done. It’s over. I don’t want to do this any longer,” Strange said, cutting him off.
           “Forfeiting already? I didn’t think you’d give up that easily. Did she bruise your ego that badly? Poor Stephen Strange. She hurt your feelings,” Loki taunted.
           “No. I just don’t want to be in it anymore. She deserves to be happy with someone else,” All the arguing brought an audience. The rest of the Avengers stood around the room, staring as the two sorcerers screamed at each other. They were too busy watching them, they didn’t notice Bucky and Nina come in from a date earlier that morning.
           “Come on, Strange. I want to play more. It’s entertaining coming up with different hangout,” Loki said. He flashed a devilish smile, showing all of his teeth.
           “She’s not meant to played with. You can’t mess around with her feelings or her heart. The competition is over, Loki. That’s final,” Stephen snapped.
           “What competition?” a voice asked. Nina asked. Silence encompassed the entire room, freezing everyone in their tracks. Stephen Strange turned around to face her…

♡thorsthot’s writing challenge♡ 5k edition
yooo! so the first time I did this, I was at 2.5k followers back in 2018. 2020 we at 5k baby!!! but no deadass, I'm very grateful, especially for the people who have still been here even when I'm being an asshole.
I found it really fun when I first did this. I got to read fics that I normally would never read. Even though I don’t read fanfic now, I still want to show appreciation whenever I get the chance. And what better way than to host a writing challenge?? under the cut you’ll find the rules, and the various prompts to choose from!
Deadass, just have fun! (and lets hope this doesn’t flop lol) if there’s any questions, feel free to ask :) reblog this to boost, if you’d like
♡ rules ♡

has to be a reader insert
♡ formatting + tags ♡
fics should include, a word count, warnings, and your prompt
if you’d like, you can add a summary (it’ll help me when making the masterlist)
for the love of all things holy, please, add the ‘read more’ function to the fics.
must tag me in the fic + use the tag #thorsthotfive and #thorsthotchallenge (so that I can find it if it gets lost in my notifs!)
♡ how to + what happens when you enter ♡
send me a message or ask highlighting which prompt(s) you’re going to use and the character you’re writing about
for example; “movie dialogue #4 w/ wade wilson” or, “situational #7 w/ bucky”, etc
when you enter: you’ll get a reblog (likely more than one) + a paragraph of feedback that highlights what I love about what you wrote
you’ll also be on the special 5k writing challenge masterlist placed within my own masterlists.

Stan Lee University (Part 9)
Prompt: What would the Avengers be like in college, more importantly, what would they be like if Y/N existed around them?
Word Count: 2110
Warnings: drama, language, betrayal, adult content (not smut, but it’s like TV-14 rating...)
Notes: This is based on a HC from @carryonmyswansong. They helped brainstorm and write part of this series. In this AU, no one will have powers, everyone is a normal human. Beta’d by @carryonmyswansong
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, you woke up really late and decided to go get some lunch. You were starving and you left your dorm, in search of food. You weren’t sure if you’d go off campus or just go to the cafe and grab a sandwich. You figured you’d decide once you stepped outside.
Just as you were about to leave the lobby though, Loki walked in, holding a bouquet of colorful flowers.
Must be for a girl he met last night, you thought with irritation.
His eyes found you and he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Ah, Y/N. I found you.”
“Oh, yes, because I’m so hard to locate.” You rolled your eyes and started to walk by him.
“Wait, wait,” he said, stepping backwards and in front of you. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry about last night. I was drunk and an ass.” He pushed the flowers toward you. “For you.”
“You think you can just hand me some flowers and you acting the way you did will just make this all go away?” you demanded, flabbergasted.
“No. That’s not it.”
“Then what? Because I can forgive being drunk if you were just a lot to handle, but you went and kissed other people on our date, Loki. That’s pretty shitty.”
“I know it is. I’m.. I realize you weren’t trying to stop the game or having a good time, but I took it personally. When I drink, I turn into a dick.”
“That’s a poor excuse,” you said, starting to walk around him again.
“I only did it because I wanted to kiss you.”
Your eyes narrowed and you turned, your hand on the handle to leave the lobby of the dorms. You spun, your gaze on his. “What was that?”
“I wasn’t trying to do it to kiss other people. I was doing it because I’d hope you join and it would be an excuse for me kissing you without making things awkward.” He peered at you with such apology, you were actually starting to believe him.
“A guy that flirts like you doesn’t exactly need an excuse to kiss your date. It’s kind of all part of the experience,” you commented, the annoyance gone from your voice.
“Yes, but, you’re rather intimidating,” he informed with a tiny smile.
“So I’ve heard,” you muttered. “But why didn’t you stop when I didn’t want to join?”
He sighed. “I hoped, stupidly, that you would join anyway. Maybe you’d get jealous, or change your mind. Idiotic, I know.”
You screwed your mouth to the side in thought. Maybe he really wasn’t that bad of a guy. Maybe he was just trying to kiss you without rushing things.
In a swift motion, you grabbed the flowers and reached your hand up to his neck and pulled him down into a kiss. His lips were short of freezing, but you didn’t mind. They moved quickly, after the initial shock, his lips firm and precise on yours. The kiss was quick, but filled with promise.
You let him go and grinned.
“Wanna go get lunch, you idiot?” you asked.
“Ah, just what a man loves to hear, insults on being asked to a date.”
“Well as long as you don’t make out with anyone else on this date, we’ll be okay,” you assured laughing as you put your arm through his.
---------------------
“You’re giving him another chance?” Natasha asked as the three of you sat in Clint’s apartment.
“Yeah. I mean, he was a dick but it was for kind of a cute reason.”
“Or a stupid reason,” she muttered, taking a sip of her water.
“Well, if he’s really a jerk, he’ll show his colors again.”
“Are you sure?” Clint interjected. “You were pretty upset last night.”
“Yeah but I was just being over emotional.”
“What about that one guy, in your lab?” Natasha mentioned and your stomach did a flop.
“Who? You mean Stephen?”
“Yeah, what’s happening on that front?”
You snorted and shook your head. “He made it clear he didn’t want to date me. I asked him to the party and…” You shook your head, stopping the statement. “But then at the party he was really sweet and I drove him back to school and… I don’t know he’s too hot then cold. At least Loki’s sort of consistent.”
“Yes, consistently an ass. It sounds like you need to tell both guys to fuck off,” Nat remarked.
“I second that,” Clint said.
“It’s easy for you two. You’re practically married, you two are perfect. But for us single folk, it’s a little harder.”
“You act as if your choice is an asshole or a dick,” Nat noted disdainfully.
You shrugged. “I’m just saying, this campus is small. I’m going after the few guys I didn’t go to high school with. That’s all.”
“Well don’t settle. College isn’t the end all be all of the dating pool.”
“Again, you two can’t lecture me,” you sternly said before laughing.
-----------------------------------
Three more weeks passed and Loki was more affectionate and on a fast track to becoming your boyfriend. The two of you got lunch together every day, and spent nearly every evening in your dorm discussing books and movies. Not to mention Loki showing up before Lit class at your dorm just to walk you to class.
When he actually tried, he was very romantic and sweet.
Stephen on the other hand was still very on and off, and frankly it was driving you mad.
Sure, Loki seemed better, great even. But something about Stephen. He seemed more grounded, more mature, he knew his life was heading in a certain direction and he was working to get there. That was always something you’d admired and wanted in a life partner was a guy with goals, ambitions, and the drive to make it happen. Bucky didn’t seem to share that. Sure, Bucky was going to school for engineering, he hoped to do something with prosthetics, but he lacked maturity.
While Loki was smart, funny, and entertaining, he lacked the seriousness you desired in a guy. Stephen might’ve been hot and cold, but there was just something about when the two of you had such close moments that you couldn’t write off. Especially that sense of trust. You didn’t quite have that with Loki, but it was there with Stephen.
But the fact of the matter was, Loki was putting forth effort to be with you, to be around you. And so far, all Stephen had done was give you his number, and that was just for the physics project. And the hand graze when you reached for the worksheets. And the staring at you then smiling.
Damn him.
No, you were with a guy who was actually trying, you thought, trying to convince yourself. If Stephen wanted to be with you, he would’ve said something by now.
Loki was lying on your bed, his head at the foot end - as usual, when he patted the space next to you. “Come on, we’ve got three chapters to get through tonight,” he encouraged.
“Are you sure we aren’t just going to end up making out?” you asked incredulously with a grin as you climbed onto the bed. That’s usually how it went for you two. The homework would start, but then ten minutes in, you two would be making out - rather heatedly.
The last time this happened, he had his hand up your shirt and his other hand traveled to your pants but you stopped him. You weren’t sure you were ready for that yet.
“It’s highly likely, darling,” he cooed as he kissed behind your ear, making you shiver.
You let the feelings wash over you of arousal before your senses snapped back.
“Okay, if you’re going to be here, you have to behave.”
He raised his hand in surrender and oath. “On my word.”
“Good.”
The two of you started to read, you got past the first chapter, swapping off characters, when you suddenly read a line about desire and lust.
“And their hands just wouldn’t stop. They wanted them to, they needed them to, but the fire was building, growing…” Your eyes drifted to Loki’s who was already trained on your face.
Like a switch was flipped, you two lunged at each other. In a split second he was on top of you, his hands moving through your hair, your mouths colliding almost violently. He was between your legs quickly, grinding on top of you.
His hand moved up your shirt to cup your breast before he nearly attacked your mouth again. You we're already panting as you grabbed at his shirt, your legs wrapping around his hips.
He took the hint and helped you pull his shirt off. You figured he would help pull yours off, but in a twist of events you didn't see coming, he grabbed at the hem of your shirt with his teeth and pulled up.
Well if you weren't aroused before, you sure as hell were now.
He leaned up and you ripped at his belt as if your life depended on it and he watched you with lust blown pupils. In a swift motion, his belt was off and you were making quick work of his pants.
Now that he was in his boxers, he tugged your jeans off quickly, his fingers digging into your flash as he drug them down your legs.
He left you in your bra and panties for just moment while he kissed you again, trailing the kisses down your jaw, neck, and cleavage.
“I need these off, now,” he ordered huskily, pulling you up to your knees. He helped you with your bra, throwing it across the dorm. His hands trailed down your sides, leaving a searing mark on your skin. He kissed all the way down your torso until his nose was nestled over the sweet spot, resting above your panties.
You let out a nervous, aroused laugh, making Loki react. He smirked before reaching up and throwing you onto your back, before removing your panties.
He followed this by diving down between your legs, his tongue working quickly over you, making you gasp and cry out, your hand flying to his hair.
“Holy shit, Loki,” you panted.
He laughed but kept up the attack on you.
What followed was Loki practically worshipping you as he paid attention to every detail of your body. You returned the favor as best you could, your hands and mouth working over his pale, toned physique.
By the early morning, after round three, the two of you were utterly spent. When you were done, you both laughed as you grabbed water from your mini fridge for both of you.
Without a word, you two settled down in the bed and you felt happy. Finally, you were moving on from Bucky, and you weren't thinking about Stephen.
So maybe Loki wasn't the most practical or business driven. But he was kind, funny, gave you the time of day, and you had a lot of similar interests.
----------------------
Early the next morning, you woke up, long before your alarm went off, around 5 am, it was still relatively dark out. You smiled, hoping to roll over and greet Loki, but when you turned, he was nowhere to be found. His clothes weren’t there, and there was no note, his side ice cold.
You frowned. Maybe he just went to the bathroom. Or maybe he was out getting coffee.
Rolling to grab your phone, checking for messages, you found one from Loki.
“Thanks, now do me a favor and lose my number.”
For what seemed like eons, you stared at the text, reading it over, and over, and over again. This couldn’t be right. This just… This had to be a joke that you two would laugh about. Loki would come back, stating it was a joke.
You didn’t do this. You didn’t do things like this. You weren’t a one-night stand kind of person. You’d only been with Bucky, and the only reason you were okay with friends with benefits with him was because at one time, you’d been in love with him. You thought you were falling for Loki, that’s why you did this. That’s why you gave yourself to him completely.
But now… Now he just used you for a piece of ass? All that sweet talk and complimenting and the flowers was all just to get in your pants? You felt so cheap.
How had you been so blind and stupid? You knew Loki was a player, that’s why he was flirtatious but you just thought maybe he was interested in you.
Guess not, though.
endgame post
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS BENEATH THIS CUT
[Update] I made a Youtube review (still spoilery though). If you wanna support what I do, please consider buying me Ko-Fi
Firstly, there’s no after credits so don’t bother waiting around for that. Three hours is a long time to be holding your pee. Second, bring tissues. I was crying from the moment the title sequence rolled.
The main thing you need to know is that there was time travel courtesy of Scott Lang and the Pym particles in this film and a tonne of pop culture references in terms of time-travelling and it was all
Tumblr media
The gist of the Time Heist was that they were gonna go back into time and get the Infinity Stones before Thanos could get to it and they figured out that if they hit the right year, there were already three stones on Earth (Mind, Space & Time). So our heroes split up into three teams to Pokemon Gotta Catch’em all.
Now, we’ll start with my favourite, the love of my life, Tony Stark. My man. We got them right that Carol Danvers definitely brought Nebula and Tony’s space ship back to Earth. There is a five year time jump in this film that saw Tony and Pepper get married (which regardless of how you may swing on Pepperony, YAY!) and have a child together, Morgan H. Stark who, let me tell you, I would die for because she is the perfect copy of Tony and I would not be surprised if one day they did a Young Avengers roster and she is there. Tony Stark having a child of his own and it is glooooriuuusss.
Steve Rogers got rid of the beard, and honestly I missed it ngl.
Let me just say that I adore, adore, adore them for not letting the Stony reunion be just a push by. They let it breathe and matter and it was every angsty Post-Civil War fanfic brought to life. They allowed Tony to lay it into Cap that this was what happened when you didn’t listen to me when I told you I saw this coming. There was a reference to the suit of armour statement from Age of Ultron and Tony laid it into Steve that look at what we lost because you tore us apart and it hurt so good my friends, so good. But over the course of the movie you could see them slowly relearn to trust and depend and be a team again and it was great. When they said that Endgame was a Stony event, they meant it. I live for this. I love it.
Tumblr media
Thor got a beer belly and it’s as if the writers underestimate the powers of our thirst for this man. I would still ride him like no one’s business. He’s let himself go, feeling the survivors guilt weigh on him because he aimed for the head and not the arm. The Valkyrie survived Thanos’ raid on the Asgardian refugee ship and New Asgard is formed, probably, where Odin told Thor to remember the view. Thor, Korg and Miek are running a roommate situation where the Wifi is free, and Thor fights back Online trolls.
I think we all knew going in that Clint Barton was gonna be the Ronin and they certainly didn’t disappoint. They gave us a bit of Hiroyuki Sanada’s character fighting with Clint and that was great. But it honestly made me want to say SO dark you sure you’re not the DC Universe?
Natasha has always been a character I was always a bit miffed with the writing about. There have been many complaints about the inconsistencies of her characterisation and those weren’t unwarranted. That being said, I am at peace with where they took her in this movie.
Hulk and Bruce Banner managed to find some zen where Banner’s consciousness could exist at the same time as Hulk’s body.
I’m so happy about the way they treated Nebula as a character and you could tell that Karen Gillan was given a lot of room to stretch out and breathe here. As one of the effects of travelling into a timeline which had her past self, Future!Nebula shared the same network with Past!Nebula which allowed Thanos to access her memories and to be aware of what the Avengers were planning to do. Which, Oh No.
So what happened: The heroes split up through time and space to get the stones. Steve, Tony, Scott and Bruce all go back to 2012 during the Battle of New York, where Bruce goes to convince Tilda Swinton’s Sorcerer Supreme to give him the Time Stone, Steve goes and intercepts the Mind gem (still in Loki’s glow stick of destiny) by convincing Sitwell and Rumlow that he was all Hail Hydra, which gave me all kinds of Hydra!Cap feels, Tony and Scott get to go for the Tesseract. Shit happens, Bruce succeeds by telling the Sorcerer Supreme that Strange gave it willingly to Thanos which clues her in that there might be more to it, and Steve battles himself for the glow stick of destiny
Also, there is much mention and appreciation of Steve’s ass. America’s Ass. Yes, indeed. That is a nice derriere. Premium grade American Ass right there 🍑💦
(I’ve been waiting hours to use this gif :>>>)
Tumblr media
Tony and Scott screwed the pooch and they lose the Tesseract while Loki, who sees an opportunity, snatches and bails. So I guess that’s how they get to slip into the planned Loki series for Disney+. Tony and Steve then jump back to the 1970s where they can get more Pym particles, for more jumps and where the Tesseract will be both at the same place, the secret bunker facility we saw in Cap2. Steve chances upon Peggy’s office there and spends some time looking at her from the shadows, while Tony bumps into his dad who is freaking out about Tony’s impending birth. He manages to give his dad some advice on becoming a dad, and they gave us a nice closure for Tony who hugs and thanks his dad for everything he has done.
Rhodey and Nebula go to Morag to intercept Peter Quill right before he gets the orb with the Power Stone. They both succeed but right before they can jump back, Nebula is paralysed by Ebony Maw hacking into her memories and she figures out that Thanos knows the plan. Rhodey jumps back, but she doesn’t and is captured by Thanos, Past!Nebula and Gamora.
Clint and Natasha travel to Vormir and is soon acting like self-sacrificial idiots who battle it out to throw themselves for the Soul stone. Clint manages to clear the ledge, but Natasha is the one who pulls a switcheroo and tells Clint to “Let me go” which :<<<<<< So she dies and Clint gets the stone.
Thor and Rocket go to Asgard circa Thor The Dark World to get the Reality gem. Soon, Thor bumps into Frigga who immediately tells him that she knows he isn’t her son and that the future must’ve not been kind to him. She gives him some words of comfort and wisdom and tells him, despite his insistence that she knows what is going to happen to her, she doesn’t want to know, and honestly this movie gave Frigga the character fleshing out in five minutes what two movies couldn’t and I fucking love it. They are also successful and right before they leave, Thor calls for Mjölnir, and is pleased to know that he is still worthy when she answers.
Our heroes all come back, plus Nebula but they all soon realise that Nat isn’t coming back. They waste no time with assembling the stones with Tony’s nanotech gauntlet (I was kinda bummed we didn’t get to see more giant Peter Dinklage but I guess season 8 of Game of Thrones was a big thing huh) and Hulk-Banner takes it upon himself to do the snapping because he is the strongest avenger and it damn near kills him (remember this).
It works, but before our heroes can enjoy the sweet taste of success, we figure out that Nebula ain’t our Nebula and is Past!Nebula who has impersonated our Nebula to open up a portal for Thanos to arrive in. Thanos decimates the Avengers facility and we enter the final battle.
Thor, Steve and Tony are the only ones not currently trapped under rubble and they all try to hold Thanos off from Clint who has the gauntlet and the stones.
Thor becomes pinned down under Thanos who is trying to stab him with Stormbreaker when Steve picks up Mjölnir and knocks him a new one and we get Thor saying “I knew it!” and let me just say that by this point I was screaming. Really. This was a comic book payoff and I love it. #SteveIsWorthy
This battle bit made me so anxious, like, holy shit I was worried for the safety of all involved. Then we see that Steve is the only left standing against the legion of Thanos, but wait! We see the Strange’s magic circle portals and it shows the arrival of all the other heroes who were snapped. So we have Black Panther coming in with the Wakandans and Bucky and Sam who goes “On your left” to Steve, the heroes on Thanos’ home planet (PETERRRR) and also, Pepper in her own armour!
We get, fucking finally after all this time, to hear Cap say “Avengers Assemble!”
The ensuing melee sees them all try to get the gauntlet to Scott and Hope who are standing by the Pym van to try and get the stones back in time where Thanos can’t get them, and we get to see Peter finally get his hug from Tony and ngl I was crying.
All through it all our Nebula convinces Gamora that she’s changed, and that they have to stop Thanos, and our Nebula kills Past!Nebula when she tries to kill Gamora.
It becomes a whole monkey in the middle situation with everyone passing the gauntlet off to another teammate and we see Peter activate Instant Kill, which is awesome, and then just when shit was about to get worse, get Carol coming in to get the gauntlet coz she’s the star quarterback here (i honestly feel like she was only here for the beginning and end so if you’re only watching this for her, i’m sorry?) and Peter asks her how's she going to get through all of that, all the women Avengers come up and Okoye says, “Don’t worry, she’ll have help” which just, ❤️
When Stephen Strange came back into the fray, Tony had asked him whether this is the one time they succeed and he says that he can’t say it because then it becomes real. So, when it seems like Thanos was going to get another shot at the snap, he makes eye contact with Tony and lifts up a ☝🏼which.
Tony makes a roll for the gauntlet, but Thanos pushes him back, tries to snap but. Nothing happens. We turn, and see that Tony has the stones melding with his gauntlet, and as he prepares to snap his fingers, looks Thanos in the eyes and says “I am Iron Man”
Tony lays dying on the battlefield as Thanos and his legion are dust in the wind. Rhodey, Pep and Peter all say goodbye and are with him to the end and fuck y’all I thought I did my crying in the cinema but as I’m remembering this scene I’m tearing up again holy shit.
We get a funeral where Pepper and Morgan lay a wreath on a lake which had the Proof That Tony Stark Has A Heart reactor from IM1 laid on it. The funeral is a who’s who of the MCU and we get Harley Keener back, which is, yay, but also :< Happy asks Morgan what she wants to eat and she says cheeseburger. Which. Fuck. Tears Happy up as he promises to get her all the cheeseburgers she wants. And ensures that I won’t be touching a cheeseburger within the next year. So many callbacks to IM1 which was the movie that started it all and I can’t even.
Clint goes back to his family, looking like he’s hanging up the bow for good this time, and Thor hands over Kingship of New Asgard to Valkyrie and boards the Guardian’s ship for a future instalment of GOTG.
Steve is charged with being the one to get the stones back into their own timelines. Right before he goes, we get a callback to Cap1 with “Don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone” “How can I? You’re bringing all the stupid with you”, they prepare to pull him back but he misses the jump point. Sam, Bucky and Hulk-Banner panic for a moment before Bucky spots a man in the distance. They approach, and Bucky tells Sam to go talk to him, and we now see that it’s an aged Steve Rogers who had decided to stay back in time and is very much at peace and happy with it, Sam tells Steve that he doesn’t know how to live in a world without Captain America, when Steve hands over the shield to Sam and tells him that he’s it now. Now I cannot wait for the Falcon and Winter Soldier series.
The final scene in this movie was of Steve and Peggy dancing in their living room in what looks like the 1940s. Honestly, if I hadn’t already gone through a pack of tissues, I would’ve started then.
Cameos (at least the ones I picked out): Ken Jeong as a security guard in the San Fran warehouse where the Antman van was parked, Yvette Nicole Brown at Camp Lehigh, James D’Arcy as Jarvis (Which I was super stoked by because JARVISSSS), Joe Russo in a therapy circle with Steve (also made me real happy coz they kept a gender drop uncensored in my screening), and finally who could forget Stan Lee’s cameo all bedecked out in ‘70s flower power.
This movie was a lovely bowtie on 22 movies and 10 years of the MCU. Was it everything I wanted? No. It was more. Am I happy with what I got? No, I do wish some things ended differently but I knew they were coming. Nothing good lasts, and everything had to come to an end some time. I’m still unpacking my emotions tbh. The credits had all the OG6 signing their names, and the fact of the matter is, I have been so very changed by the MCU. The past 10 years have been amazing and I’ve been proud, and always will be proud to call myself a Marvel fan.
I honestly don’t know where they’ll be taking the MCU as a whole from this point onwards because it seems like there will be ripple effects from the actions of this film will be felt for at least the next ten years. Far From Home is the next MCU movie and I’m sure they’ll be dealing with the direct effects of this film so I’ll be looking forward to that. I’m elated, I am heartbroken, I am a glass case of emotions.
Movie Review: Avengers Endgame
I’m already tagging it with like four different spoiler tags, but just in case someone who hasn’t gotten to see it yet forgot to block spoilers, review under the cut:
The short of it first: I love this movie. I, however, also hate this movie. There were many wonderful things about it and many things I disliked or that upset me. Overall however, I think the balance made for a perfect ending to the MCU. (Which, makes me feel really weird about the fact that there will be... more MCU.)
Fair warning, this review will not be in any particular order, more like... what comes to mind. Because there was just so much happening in it. So I’ll bolt the particular hero each section will be about, for easier navigation.
First things first, we gotta talk about the time paradox. Look, I know it’s not a plothole, it was very much intentional, they set it up from the moment Bruce met the Anient One, however it still drives me insane that they killed Thanos from 2014 and... it changed nothing in their time.
If Thanos from 2014 is dead, he can never even go and collect the Infinity Stones and this entire reality should cease to exist. The Ancient One’s explanation on how removing something from the past leads to a split timeline makes little sense to me, because it first and foremost should change this timeline.
I know it’s most likely meant to set up the multiverse - the x-Men, it’s going to be used to work in the X-Men, probably also the Fantastic Four. But the lack of explanation as to why changing your own past does not affect your present time was rather... frustrating for me.
Same goes for “Loki escapes punishment in 2012 with the stone”. How did the stone end up in the 70s then? And what impact does this have on the Thor timeline? Will he wreak more havok? Or change to good earlier?
For a movie working the primary angle of time-travel, answers about the paradox created were... too scarce for my taste.
IRON FAMILY
That being said: My Tony Stark stanning ass is absolutely living for the fact that Tony just... solved time-travel in one night, casually, like it’s nothing.
And as such, I gotta talk Tony first, don’t I?
I am now 100% the Tony-Nebula friendship that everyone was expecting after Infinity War and in the reality I will be accepting from hereon out, Nebula and Tony get to stray friends.
Though, a dynamic I did not expect to absolutely love and stan is Rhodey and Nebula! Oh, that was so good. Generally, Rhodey in this movie was so good. He is usually just treated as the add-on to Tony and in this movie, he was... so much more than that and seemed to stand on his own a lot. (Yes, he’s still in this section because he is still part of the Iron Family so sue me.)
At first, I was honestly frustrated that Pepper was just... The Wife And Mother and seemed to have so little... input into things. Like, support, brainstorm along with them, anything. She deserved to be more than that.
I genuinely don’t have an opinion on Morgan. Like, yay, Tony got to be a dad, but also she was just such a generic Child with no defining personality traits, which granted, there was no time in this movie to establish that, but having no time is not an excuse for shortcomings.
What really broke me was Peter though. Peter being the reason Tony invents time-travel, even though it could mean losing Pepper, losing Morgan, losing his own life - Peter is what pushes him over the edge into helping. And then the reunion. The hug, the confusion on Peter’s face. And gods did it wreck me when Peter cried over Tony’s body.
I mean, generally, Tony’s death wrecked me. I’m starting to cry again as I write these words. I fully admit that it was perfect. There is virtually no better way to have Tony Stark go out than by him single-handedly in the most literal way possible saving the entire planet and the universe, with his last line being “I am Iron Man” as he wields the Infinity Stones - seriously, if you watched this movie and still try to post Anti Tony shit, I have to wonder what movies you even watch because this entire damn franchise literally rests on his shoulders, holy shit.
It was... It was the most perfect ending for Tony possible. But I still hate that it ended. I wanted an Ironheart movie where he mentors a potential Riri Williams for the future of the MCU, I wanted Tony cameos in future Spider-Man movies, I... wanted him to get the chance to grow old and see his daughter grow up.
But holy shit that funeral. Everyone. Just... everyone. Even Harley. Which, admittedly, I only figured out after wrecking my brain for an hour trying to figure out who that lanky brunette kid was that stood around alone and then remembering that Harley should have had a cameo in this movie too and--oh. That... that was really a deep dig for the Iron Man stans and I wished it had been a tiny bit more prominent. Like, having him and Peter talk, even just for a brief moment, about Tony, to remind us who Harley is and what those two have in common. That’d have been a nice touch.
TEAM ANT
Scott being the one to come up with time-travel as the solution was kind of hilarious to me, considering he isn’t a scientist and he has never encountered time-travel before. (I mean, Stephen literally introduced time-travel to some of them as a thing that is possible before.)
Legit, one of the two only times I cried in this movie was when Scott searched for Cassie’s name on the memorial and then was reunited with her. Paul Rudd played it so well and so heavy with emotions, it was amazing.
Hope, well, due to having been dusted, she got a shorter end of the stick. Which, in itself, should not make me salty because obviously did the dusted ones not play a huge part in the movie - but the fact that she was dusted to begin with, seriously, they dusted more female characters than they did male characters and there are already so few female characters and I am still salty that in a movie called Ant-Man and the Wasp it was entirely about one Wasp getting un-fridged just to then have them kill off two Wasps.
I have to admit, I have a certain saltiness that while Hank got a cameo in the 70s, Janet again was not deemed important enough. She got a non-speaking role to just... stand there during Tony’s funeral. That’s it.
TEAM CAP
Steve. Gotta admit, this movie brought me back to St0ny. Civil War completely killed that ship for me, but I really, truly loved how they worked Steve and Tony together again in this movie. From the first confrontation when the ship lands, to Tony screaming at Steve in the compound and them then slowly rekindling again. Because the emotional outburst was needed and deserved and had it not come, something would have felt... cheap.
I’m not sure how I feel about how they solved things with him and Peggy. Honestly, I’m so tired that Peggy post the first Captain Marvel is literally just Steve’s Love Interest, even though she was so much more. When she appears, it’s only to dance with Steve or to be sad about Steve and it’s... frustrating. And I don’t know how much they just changed her life by having her and Steve get married in the 70s. Not to mention, uh, what did Steve do in the past 50 years? Just hide out at home? Since Captain America’s face is kind of recognizable.
Look, Steve and Peggy getting married and growing old together, being happy together, is absolutely the dream ending for Steve’s storyline. Genuinely. But this was too big a thing to be so casually handled. The ripple-effect that two Steves in one timeline have, the implication that this Steve really did give up fighting bad guys, during four decades where no Captain America was there to help, it’s... so very, very vague. I know there was no time to dive into this in full length, obviously, but that doesn’t quite excuse it.
I love that he handed the shield off to Sam though. He is easy to establish as the new Captain America since we all already know him and honestly, the only two options would have been Sam or Bucky - and... please just let Bucky retire, that boy’s been through too many decades of shit don’t force him to live up to Steve now, so yeah, Sam is the better fit there.
That being said, Bucky. I liked that Steve handed the shield off to Sam, but I was missing a proper Steve-Bucky reunion. Bucky nudging Sam to talk to old!Steve and even before that, after getting undusted, there was... nothing. After 75% of Steve Rogers’ plotline in the MCU being centered around Bucky Barnes, the least they could have done would have been a proper, heartfelt reunion and a last conversation between the two. So Steve didn’t want to tell Sam about the marriage? One more scene. One where Bucky sits down next to Steve and Steve tells Bucky about his life with Peggy, even if just shortly, but... that was something that was missing, for me.
Clint was... there. I just... I don’t know, man. He was out there murdering criminals for five fucking years and they couldn’t track one archer during all that time and now he’s supposed to go back play house with Laura? I honestly, genuinely would have preferred that they killed him off at that point.
Also because Natasha deserved better. They fridged her. They took the only female member of the original team and basically killed her off for the others’ man-pain. Seeing those five guys crying about her at the lake felt like really nothing but fridging. She died so they could have the stone, she died so Clint lost her - that was literally the only note on that. She died so Clint would lose her. That’s the definition of fridging and it makes me mad, because apparently during those five years, she was like a leader to everyone else.
I was, honestly, ready for them to spin off a female Avengers team after this movie. Led by Natasha. And that they did her dirty like that makes me mad.
Wanda was also in this movie. She was badass, that’s something. (This is literally the nicest you will ever hear me say about MCU!Wanda.)
WAKANDA
They really did Wakanda dirty. Mainly so because they did them dirty in Infinity War already - aside from Okoye, they literally killed off every single significant cast-member from Black Panther.
Shuri, I’ll hand it to you they had to kill off because otherwise Steve and co would have had an alternative to go to instead of Tony and thus they wouldn’t have brought the team together as they planned. But the way she was treated after? She didn’t even have a speaking role in this movie, damn it. Not even... one line... She and Peter never got to interact. She got a bit of action, but not much.
T’Challa at least had a speaking role, but also suffered from having been dusted in the previous movie and thus only getting ridiculously little screentime.
M’Baku! He had one scene. He ran through the screen once. That was it. That’s just... ridiculous. He didn’t even get a major throw-down or anything.
And Okoye? The only undusted one? I am genuinely disappointed that she was not part of the team. They got the whole gang together, but the gang didn’t include anyone who wasn’t an OG Avenger or a Guardian. Valkyrie and Okoye should have been brought onto the team too.
Never mind Nakia, she didn’t even get a cameo at the end like the queen did. She was just like... Sharon Carter and Jane Foster: Not found. And yes, I get it, you can’t get all 200 MCU cast members, that doesn’t make it less frustrating when key characters are just... missing.
THE ASGARDIANS
The humor around every Bruce and Thor scene was... very Ragnarök. That’s not a compliment. It’s jarring, considering that this is an Avengers movie and I would have preferred their regular characterization over that one-off movie one with its... strange, cringey humor.
Seriously, they did Bruce so dirty. He was little more than a punchline. He’s a genius scientist, but now he’s a poser in the body of the Hulk who rather takes pictures with fans? And who completely screws up time-travel - but don’t worry, it’s hilarious so it’s okay.
And I better not start with Thor. Look, I approve of the fact that he grieved, that he was shown to not handle shit well. But... the extend in which he didn’t handle shit well was... not satisfying for me, but that’s a matter of taste I suppose. I didn’t like that he killed Thanos off just like that when Nebula was right there - and yes, Thor lost a lot, but Nebula would have had the right to kill him off and Thor took that away from her.
I did love his conversation with Frigga though. That was... incredibly well-handled and very nice and exactly what he needed to get at least most of his shit together again.
Though it really frustrates me how... ridiculous it was that he didn’t save Frigga. What makes anyone who got dusted more worthy of being saved? They died too. They were killed off too. It was a legitimate kill. But here, you decided that going back in time to save them is okay. When Thor however gets to be right there and have the chance to also save his mom... that’s a no-no? Why? That’s bullshit. You are altering things, saving people who died, but you get picky about what people get saving? Fuck off.
Valkyrie was... why was she not part of the team. They went and picked up Thor for the mission. They sent Bruce to pick up Thor, Bruce who knows Valkyrie the best after Thor. Why would he not also take her with them because they could have needed the backup?
And I don’t know how to feel about her as a king either. Maybe... Maybe let the Asgardians vote? Try democracy if you say you no longer have monarchy? You can’t just... appoint the next king like that.
Where exactly did her pegasus come from, by the way? I mean, did they have time to save the stables in Asgard too...? Just, where?
Also on the note of characters who didn’t make it into the movie I’d like to give honorary mentions to Sif, who I love and dearly miss and also would have wanted to meet Valkyrie.
THE GUARDIANS
Same as with Cap and Bucky, I was salty that Rocket and Groot did not get a heartfelt reunion.
And that Quill getting to see Gamora again was handled as a joke despite just how... emotionally loaded it could have been.
Drax and Mantis were... also in this movie, I guess. Some of the dusted characters came out shorter than the others.
Also, I really don’t know how I feel about Thor joining the Guardians, to be quite honest. Not... my favorite idea, because him and Quill have such a bad, obnoxious dynamic and it was already annoying during Infinity War and now during Endgame and both had like... five minutes of it. An entire movie with it would just give me a fucking migraine.
FEMALE AVENGERS TEAM??
And also, on the note of a female Avengers team - that group-shot of every female hero looked really fucking epic, I had tears in my eyes when Okoye repeated Natasha’s words from Infinity War; She’s not alone. That was... that was a bit much for me, but personally, I found it really undersold.
They took the time out of this movie to show us a shot we have all already seen. That big epic “first time of all the Avengers in one scene” shot.
They had the time for that, but they didn’t fully give that to the girls. It was clear they were trying to recreate that moment with the female Avengers, but it was such a split-second image - the least they could have done then would have been to give it a proper spin, to pause, to really show it off. Show off what female heroes Marvel has to offer right then and there.
And yes. They absolutely had the time for that. They could have just cut the damn shot that we have all already seen in favor of this new one, for example.
And since now seems to be as good a time as any, let’s talk about Captain Marvel and her hair. I love it. It made my lesbian heart really very happy.
Part of me hated that she was off-world for most of the movie, most of me knows on a rational level that the had to have her off-world or else things would have ended too quickly. And I liked how they explicitely pointed it out in-universe too, through Rocket and Carol.
Stephen was also in this movie. Not very much due to having been dusted and not actually doing a lot, but him telling Tony what to do was... It made me cry some more. And I guess Wong also got a brief cameo.
IN CONCLUSION:
So, on the overall, I complain a lot about how the dusted ones came short, how certain emotional scenes could have been deepened.
There would have been an easy solution to that. Make one more movie. Make this finale a trilogy instead of a two-parter. There were so many characters with individual plotlines in this movie and they deserved to be heard. Endgame should have been a two-parter in my opinion.
Also, I don’t like the five years time-jump. I just... yes, yes, big tragedy, lots of people dead, but somehow I find it incredibly unrealistic that five years into the future, the world would be slowly turning dystopian and no one moved on even a little bit? Life... Life would go on, somehow. And this made it look like it just didn’t.
I’d have had an easier time had they put this one year later, but I guess then Morgan couldn’t have been an adorable girl and would have just been a screechy baby so they needed the time-jump, huh.
Still I think five years was too much on the overall. Clint out there, murdering criminals for five years without being caught by the Avengers?
But yes, in the overall, I really did enjoy the movie. While some things came to short, they still put a pleasant amount of focus on the emotions and dynamics. It was heartfelt, emotional, sad, it gave Tony and Steve both the end they deserved. It did however still include a lot of things that didn’t sit right with me or that I thought were fault and I do still require a more elaborate explanation on the time paradox.
The total sum of this movie however was the perfect ending for the MCU. Which... is actually kind of a problem considering there is more MCU happening? And while, yes, I am totally here for Captain Marvel 2 and Black Panther 2, I... honestly... am basically done with the rest? And those two mainly due to the quality of their first movies and the fact that they happen isolated. Space and Wakanda. Not... yet another story in New York but this time without the Avengers you know and miss now.
All right, ya’ll, I saw Endgame! Major spoilers will be under the cut so if you’re on mobile and it doesn’t work, SCROLL, SCROLL, SCROLL. Also, blacklist ‘a4 spoilers’ and ‘endgame spoilers’!
Overall? I loved it. There are a few things that REALLY bothered me/disappointed me, which I’ll talk about. As a star rating, I’d say 9/10.
First for the things that bothered me so I can get that out of the way...
Complaints:
- Thor & Loki: It’s no surprise to some of you that Loki is my favorite character (with Tony in 2nd place), and I adore the Thor & Loki bond. So I wasn’t happy at ALL that Loki remained dead, nor the fact that the Loki and Thor bond was completely erased/forgotten. Thor didn’t mention him ONCE, and instead focused only on the bond with his mother, which was, admittedly, beautiful. But the fact that he didn’t think of his deceased brother at all really felt like a disservice. I think it was supposed to be inferred that that what’s Thor’s so depressed about during the film, but it wasn’t TALKED about and instead was played for laughs. Thor’s PAIN was made to be humorous because he let himself go and had a beer belly. And yeah, I can see how at first that can be slightly funny, but it’s really not, if you think about it. Thor was so consumed by depression that all he did was drink himself almost to death. He was a wreck during the whole film and was made to look like a drunken idiot, except for the ending. Making him gain weight just to make him ‘funny’ also rubbed me the wrong way. Being ‘fat’ is nothing to be ashamed of, or funny. Thor’s characterization this movie was a big minus for me, which was disappointing. Him leaving at the end with the GotG made some sense, though, and I’m hoping this will lead him on a path to maybe trying to find Loki, in the past or otherwise. Quill trying to find past!Gamora... maybe it was a hint.
- Going back to Loki, he showed up in flashbacks from Avengers 2012 which really made my heart swell. Him rolling his eyes at the Avengers, waving ‘bye bye’ to the Hulk sarcastically when he had to take the stairs, taking the opportunity to snatch the Tesseract, not once but twice, and disappearing to God knows where? LOVED IT. It was so nice to see him again, no matter in what capacity. Though I still wish he’d come back for real, ESPECIALLY in that battle at the end. It wouldn’t have taken much more screen time, honestly. They could’ve just shown him arriving with the others at the return, have him fight side by side with Thor, and address Thanos. Maybe hint at some possible control, imprisonment, torture from Thanos? It could’ve paved way for the Loki series. Although, I guess this 2012!Loki disappearing with the Tesseract can achieve that, too, but it would erase all of the development Loki has achieved, and I loved the development. I loved his path to redemption. If they do this, I want a redeemed!Loki, who has a place among the Avengers, not a villain again.
- Gamora not coming back. I mean, I loved seeing her as her past self, but again... she died by being killed by her abusive father. It leaves a bad taste.
All right, on to everything else!
Things that I loved:
- Nebula and Tony’s friendship! I loved their dynamic a lot. Nebula taking care of Tony, and sitting him upright? My heart. <333
- Tony’s reunion with Steve. Omg their dynamic was FANTASTIC this movie. No leftover resentment from Civil War. It really made me love their friendship that much more.
- Tony’s reunion with Pepper!
- “I lost the kid. I lost the kid.” The first part I got choked up, of many.
- omg Scott coming home to see 5 years have passed and his daughter is a teen? omg I couldn’t even handle that. I loved older Cassie, though!
- THOR GETTING TO KILL THANOS FOR REAL. OMG I CHEERED. It didn’t help his vendetta, though, and once the revenge was complete, he had nothing left, which makes sense. His hate for Thanos was what drove him in Infinity War. He fell into a huge depression once that was taken from him. And why I wish, again, that this hadn’t been used for laughs!
- TONY AND HIS DAUGHTER!!! omg dad!tony was the CUTEST AND SO WAS MORGAN. Tony’s my 2nd fave character in the mcu, so seeing him happy, living life with his wife and daughter? perfection. The “shit” scene was both hilarious and sweet. “Go to bed or I’ll sell or all your toys” and Morgan laughing because she knows he won’t. <3333333333
- “I love you 3000″
- Clint and his family!
- Natasha saying that her family is the Avengers.
- the time travel was well utilized, even if it makes my head spin a little. XD
- LOKI LOKI LOKI
- “that is america’s ass” lmao
- steve saying ‘hail hydra’ and it WORKING
- tony and steve just KNOWING how each other thinks and using that to formulate the same plan, of going back to grab the tesseract? genius!
- There was so much foreshadowing in this movie at the beginning and middle of how this was going to end. Tony was unwilling to help at first because he didn’t want to lose what he had gained, and Steve kept saying he was over Peggy but by looking at her in the past, it was clear that he wasn’t, and that was where he wanted to go. I’ll touch on both those things more later.
- Tony getting to talk to his father, and finally come to terms with that relationship, and understanding/loving him... ow my heart. That hug was amazing.
- Thor getting to talk with his mother, getting that closure as well. This movie centered a lot on family.
- Clint willing to die to get the soul stone, but Natasha also willing to, and fighting over it, who had the strongest will to sacrifice themselves for everyone else. Their dynamic is also one of my favorites, and even though Clint is happily married with a family, part of me still ships them, and I loved those final moments together.
-”Let me go. It’s okay.” Natasha’s death was one of the first scenes that got me outright bawling. I adored her, and her death hit me hard because I was NOT expecting it. And for her to die as she did, willingly, with no restraint.... she wiped the red out of her ledger for sure. :( R.I.P Natasha. I’m so sad that they couldn’t even get her body to give her a proper burial. And everyone’s reactions after... devastating.
- I didn’t think Bruce using the Gauntlet was going to work at first. But once Clint’s phone started ringing, I breathed a sigh of relief and just waited. Then past!Nebula had to ruin everything by getting Thanos to blow up the Avengers HQ.
- Touching on this, btw: Thanos really is the Avengers strongest opponent. He was too clever using the two Nebulas (UGH) as he did, and he almost won again without even breaking a sweat.
- The. entire. fight. Literally, all of it. Thor using both of his weapons, Tony and Steve giving it their all... omg.
- The second Steve used Mjolnir, my entire theater screamed, and same, tbh. Thor’s “I KNEW IT!!” was everyone. It was nice continuity with AoU when Thor’s expression hinted that Cap was worthy. YES.
- It took me a minute to realize that Sam was back, and when it did, I sat there going “IS IT REALLY IS IT REALLY IST THIS HAPPENING OH SHIT”
- AND IT DID!
- Everyone coming out of that portal, focusing on each of them. Omg the theater erupted.
- “AVENGERS.... assemble.” cHILLS
- WANDA GETTING BACK AT THANOS’S CRAZY ASS, HELL YES! “I don’t even know who you are.” “You will.” YES, QUEEN.
- THE WOMEN TEAMING UP!
- Tony and Peter. The hug! The shock from Tony that this boy that he looks at as his own son, the relief that he’s alive, okay.. hi i’m crying again.
- The second Stephen raised that single finger, and Tony knew what it meant. And we all knew what it meant...
- “I am inevitable.”  “I am... Iron... man.”
- Tony’s death hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was sobbing before he’d even collapsed to the floor. Watching the color drain from his face, and his body become so badly damaged.... I knew it was over for him.
- “We won, Mr. Stark. Come on, you did it, sir, you did. I’m sorry, Tony.” I CANT EVEN HANDLE THIS. PETER DIED IN FRONT OF TONY, AND NOW TONY DIES IN FRONT OF HIM. This surrogate father/son duo hurts me and I feel so much.
- PEPPER AND TONY. THEY DESERVED BETTER, DAMN IT. THEY DESERVED TO BE HAPPY AND TONY DESERVED TO WATCH HIS DAUGHTER GROW UP. ;A; “We’re going to be okay. You can rest now.” Rip out my heart. Just rip it out.
- As painful as Tony’s death was, it also felt.... perfect, in ways. He gave up his chance to keep things as they were to save everyone else. He did tHAT. He gave everyone else their families back. He died a hero, a true hero. I feel more at ease with Tony’s death, despite how unfair it was, because unlike Loki, Tony had achieved everything he meant to. He had a little girl who he loved so much and was an amazing father to. He had a son, who he taught to be a hero, too. He had a wife who will go on to keep Stark Enterprises alive. They’re Tony’s legacy.
- The funeral was SO heartbreaking, I was a crying mess. Happy and Morgan... :( </3
- ok so I’m 50/50 on Steve’s ending. He goes to return the stones to their proper time, and then stays behind to have a life with Peggy. Which, I mean... I’m not opposed to, and I think Steve deserves his happy ending too, but... it also hurt because not only was he leaving Bucky behind, he also left his friends behind. Friends that were already hurting from losing Natasha and Tony. And then to leave them like he did.... it felt... I don’t know, not wrong, but insensitive, considering what had just happened. Everyone had lost enough, and then they had to lose Steve, too. Although, I see his frame of mind. He’d lost so much as well. He wanted to have something for once, something happy, and he took it. I can’t blame him for that. I just wish his timing had been better.
-Bucky just knew that Steve wasn’t coming back as himself. He knows him so well. And his nod at Sam to let him take up the mantle... I knew it was going to happen, but I thought it’d be different. I’m fine with this, though. Steve’s retired. He can rest now.
- Tony’s voice over at the end was beautiful and perfect. That is all.
I loved this movie a lot, and can’t wait to see it again eventually! I had complaints and things I wish they’d done/fixed, but overall, the good outweighed the bad.
Summary: When your fiancé, Loki is killed by Thanos you can’t get over it. It’s been years and you still mourn, fed up with it you make a potion to forget, but when Loki comes back... you can’t just forget the person you’re supposed to marry, right?
All it took was 10 minutes. One-sixth of an hour, 600 seconds, not even a tenth of the day. It all felt like a joke. Like some sick impractical joke that wasn’t real. It couldn’t be..., right? Your heart felt like it had been obliterated, you wanted to cry, but the shock of it all still hadn’t sunk in.
He was dead. Loki was dead. Your love was dead. Killed right in front of your eyes by “the mighty Thanos.” You saw the dagger materialize in his hands, you saw him look at you one last time with those ocean blue eyes before he tried to stab Thanos. When Thanos dropped his lifeless body on the ground in front of you every part of your body screamed that it wasn’t Loki. Your Loki was the god of mischief, playing tricks, this was a deception, but when Thanos left and Loki didn’t move, you knew deep down he was gone. When the shock finally settled in, you screamed. A horrid sound, one of heartbreak, you cried haunched over his body clinging on to him begging him to come back. You laid your head on his chest, praying for the faintest heartbeat, but there was nothing.
You didn’t wanna move. You wanted to stay there with him, but when Thanos left, he caused the ship to explode, leaving Thor to grab you and hug you close to him as a means of protection. You screamed and thrashed begging him to let you hold on to your last bit of Loki. Thor only held onto you tighter and you realized it was useless. You stared at Loki’s now lifeless body as the ships exploded into a haze of purple, sending you and Thor hurtling into nothing.
Losing to Thanos was the worst thing to happen. You fought alongside Thor, channeling his lightning with your own yet to no avail did it stop the titan. When he snapped his fingers, the whole world was suddenly silent. You watched as people were reduced to dust and secretly, some part deep down in you wanted to go to. You wanted to forget your pain, forget Loki, forget everything and just turn to dust. Alas, the world had other plans and you were left with nothing once again.
Thor has taken you far away from Earth after that. He made a New Asgard, ruled for maybe a day before retreating into his hut with Korg and Mick playing this game called “Fortnite.” You never heard from him after that. You wanted to stay on Earth, with Bucky, your best friend without Loki or Thor. However, you wanted to be close to Loki, it felt like Asgard was the best way to do that. It seemed, despite the number of days the pain never stopped. Every day you were reminded of Loki. Of his presence and how he was no longer here and every day it still hurt just as much. You fiddled with the small promise ring on your hand. The one he gave you.
You gasped at the green gem Loki gave you.
“Loki, it’s beautiful.”
“(Y/N), I may not be one with words, but I cannot imagine a world without you in it. You are the spark of my life.”
You laughed at his pun.
“You make me want to be a better person and spend everyday laying in bed with you. I want to spend every day with you, will you marry me?”
He gently held your hand and slipped on the Golden band. It wasn’t a traditional wedding ring, It was the ones they use in Asgard. You kissed him after. It was the happiest day of your life, well aside from the further wedding he suggested.
You didn’t know how many days it had been. Only that you needed the pain to stop. The memories to stop. Anything related to Loki needed to just stop. You wanted to forget. It sounded cruel, but you had to. Your life couldn’t move forward like this. Not anymore. It was simple, easy. Make a potion, one to forget. Not everything, just him. As you gather the ingredients, you could feel the tears brim in your eyes. The thought that you ever wanted to go through with this sickens you to the stomach. Lucky for you, the potion requires the tear of one who wants to forget. You let the tear fall into the beaker a satisfying sound echoing your empty home when it hit the glass. The beaker glittered green, the very color of Loki. Before you think about him, or any of it any longer you grabbed the beaker and drained it to the last drop.
The first encounter
Staring at the god in front of you, you snorted. “This is Loki?”
Thor nodded, “indeed. This is my brother.”
“He certainly doesn’t look or behaves anything like you.”
“Adopted.”
“He’s not armed, right?”
“No.”
You walked up to him, poking him right in his chest. He gives a grunt of annoyance and you grin.
“Is he going back to Asgard?”
Thor shakes his head, “My father requests he stays here on Midgard as punishment.”
At the mention of his punishment, Loki rolls his eyes.
“He’s staying here?”
“Indeed lady (Y/N).”
And that’s where it all started. Loki was surprisingly polite. He respected the Avenger's wishes, didn’t complain and was quiet and always reading. He took an interest in Shakespeare. Which surprised you, if anything you thought he’d make fun of the romance. You didn’t want to befriend the trickster. He seemed like the type to dump and run. Especially once his sentence was up. However, fate had other ideas for you.
The first kiss
“Would you say something?!” You shouted, a scowl evident on your face.
Loki shook his head, scared that if he opened his mouth he’d say the wrong thing.
“Please... I miss you.” Hearing those words come out of your mouth, shocked you. Yet it was true, you did miss Loki. You missed his humor, his sarcasm, his smile. He had been ignoring you for weeks on end. At first, you decided to give him space but, now you were at a loss. You needed to know what happened.
The only thing following was silence. You felt the tears brim in your eyes, it was stupid so stupid. You shouldn't be crying over him. You sniffled, and you saw Loki’s entire back tense up.
“Why won’t you say anything?” Your voice cracked.
Loki spun around, “I can’t say anything because I’m afraid I’ll say that I love you!”
You froze, Loki looking glumly at the ground.
“Stop lying,” You said, your voice shaking.
“I’m not lying,” He replied, still looking away.
“Stop, stop, stop it!” You cried. He was playing with you he had to be. Loki, God Of Mischief in love with you? Never.
Loki stepped forward, grabbing your face in his hands. He wipes the tears escaping, “You have to believe me.”
“I- I can’t.”
Loki sighs, looking past your face before leaning in. You don’t stop him. Loki’s warm lips land on yours and you immediately kiss back. This was bliss. His lips were warm and left you wanting more. Craving more.
“Do you believe me now?”
The announcement
“So yes, I am with Loki.”
“PAY UP, SAM!” Bucky called out. Sam tolling his eyes as he pulled out his wallet.
Clint was taken aback, “Why in God's name would you do such a thing?”
“Reindeer games?” Tony backed him up.
“Brother! Congratulations!” Thor boomed.
The rest of the avengers paid each other on the many bets made. You and Loki stood in silence.
You expected Tony and Clint’s reaction but, bets? You didn’t see that coming.
When you and Loki were in private quarters you smirked, “Did you enjoy their company?”
“I much rather enjoy yours but, since it pleases you. Yes.”
When Loki came back, the first thing he wanted to do was find you. He needed to explain everything. However, when he returned to earth he was devastated to see what had happened. Flashing all over the news and bright broads of New York were the faces of Natasha, Tony, Vision, and Steve. Underneath in big bold letters, “Gone but never forgotten. The three avengers gave their lives to save us.”
Now, the second thing he needed to do was find Thor. Stranded on Earth, Loki knew of one person who knew where you might be. He didn’t want to go to the wizard, but he had no choice if he wanted to find you. Arriving at his door, Loki tried to straighten himself. The last time he was here he had fallen face-first on the floor. Loki rose his fist to knock, but the door swung open before he even had a chance.
“Hello,” He said.
Dr. Stephen Strange gave him a tight smile, “Hi.”
Loki opened his mouth to ask for help but Strange interrupted him, “I know what you’re here for. Follow me.”
Loki obeyed, but not before checking for any magic portals under his feet. Strange rummaged through a few books before finding his answer. Thinking of the place in his mind, he conjured up a portal. Loki didn’t see much but a few cliffs and oceans.
“Are you sure that’s where they reside?”
Strange nodded, “You’ll see.”
Loki thanked him and shook his hand before stepping through. A gust of cold air that smelled of saltwater hit him. He looked around and noticed a small sign, “New Asgard,” It read. The town was small only a few diminutive huts. Salty air wafted in from the sea. The place was quite nothing like old Asgard. The first person to find Loki was Valkeryie. She was out running errands and happened to catch a glimpse of the black-haired god.
“Who are you?” She demanded, pulling out her dagger.
“It is I, Loki,” He replied simply.
Valkyrie raised her eyebrows in suspicion, this could very well be him, but according to Thor, he had died.
“Prove it.”
Loki was quick with his reply, “When we were in Sakaar you tied me up in chains while Thor told the story of how I turned into a snake and stabbed him when we were eight.”
Slowly, she lowered her knife. “It really is you.”
“Where are they?”
Valkyrie already knew who he was talking about, she sighed, “You won’t like what you’ll find.” Following her steps, Loki found himself in front of a small hut in adequate condition.
“Thor is in here.”
She knocked three times before someone opened the door, “oh hey guys,” Korg greeted. “Valkyrie, Loki.”
Valkyrie pointed at Loki to which Korg finally understood, “Loki?!”
Slamming the door, he ran downstairs to retrieve Thor. Who came bounding up the stairs. Loki wasn’t sure what to expect maybe his long hair and beard back, but not this.
“Thor?” Loki asked, unaware if this was truly him.
“It’s you,” Thor cried before embracing his brother in his arms. Surprising himself, Loki hugged back his tears forming.
“Where is she?” He whispered. Everyone was silent. Loki pulled back, “where is she?” He demanded again.
“She’s here,” Thor said softly. She’s just not who she was.”
“What does that imply?”
Everyone looked sorrowfully at each other before slowly walking toward the edge of a cliff where a lodge resides, hidden by trees. Thor knocks on the door and Loki’s heart beats in his chest. He was so ready to see you again, he missed you so much. He wanted to hear your laugh, see you smile. Feel your lips on his again. The door swung open and there you stood. Loki could already tell this wasn’t his (Y/N). You no longer had that joyful spark in your eye, the grin always plastered on your face, but you did still have the green gem he gave you.
“(Y/N)?” He said.
Your eyes met his, but no sign of recognition showed. “I’m sorry, do I know you?”
Loki felt his world shatter. All of a sudden he couldn’t stand straight, the world was blurring together. Words are thrown around in the air yet he couldn’t grasp onto any of them. He stumbled back, Korg supporting him.
Valkyrie started whispering to you and motioning toward Loki. Thor was at Loki’s side, trying to explain.
Loki could only understand very few words, “(Y/N)... potion... doesn’t remember... told her n...”
“Your ring,” Valkeryie said. You fiddled with the green gem in your hand. “He’s the one that gave it to you.”
“I don’t understand,” You spoke softly. “Why don’t I remember him?”
“I think we need to sit down.”
Everyone clambers inside your small house. Everything was neat and in place. The afternoon sunlight streaming in from the big windows that showed off the view of the ocean. Your feet echoed softly on the wooden floor as you lead everyone to your living room. Thor thought it was best to use Midgard furniture to decorate it as a means of making you feel more at home. Settling into the couch, Valkeryie sat next to you, Thor and Loki across.
You could sense Loki’s distress. You felt guilty, he had given you the precious gem and you could not remember one thing about him. Your mind was blank. An empty space. His face was unrecognizable to you. Thor held your hand in his on the coffee table.
“(Y/N), do you remember how we got here?”
You nod, “of course, we fought Thanos and Asgard was destroyed by Hela and the fire monster.”
“Anything else?”
“We came here after you killed Thanos. We went with Carol, Tony, Natasha, Steve, and Bruce.”
“Do you remember why we were so mad at him?”
You sat quietly, rummaging through the memories of five years ago. It was all hazy and blurry as if something or someone was missing from it. You couldn’t seem to piece anything together.
“It’s blank. There’s nothing there,” You said. Frustrating overcame you. Why can’t I remember? Something was off, you don’t just forget the man you were supposed to marry. You were trying so hard to remember something, anything. Why did you love him? What happened? Thor squeezes your hand when he sees the obvious look of frustration on your soft features.
“It’s okay.”
“It’s not! I was supposed to marry him and I can’t recall one  thing!” You cried.
Loki stood up, “Its not your fault.”
You turned to him, tears forming in the corner of your eyes, “I was supposed to marry you. And I have no idea why. You should be mad at me!”
“Darling, I could never.”
“How?” You yell. “How can you stand to talk to me when I don’t even know you?”
Loki crosses the room in a few strides and holds you to his chest. You finally break down and let out a choked sob. You find comfort in Loki’s arms. Even though he towers over you, his arms are wrapped around your neck and gently stroke your head. Despite you not knowing Loki at all, you find yourself hugging him tighter, closer. And somewhere, deep inside of your brain you find this feeling familiar. The feeling of having him so close to you. Of his chin resting on your head, you felt safe and loved.
Thor coughs loudly and you let go.
“May I propose an idea?”
A chorus of sure and let’s hear it ring out through your home.
“Might I suggest we take Lady (Y/N) to places that meant something special to Loki and Her? Perhaps it will trigger something?”
And that was exactly what you did.
 + + +
There first place they took you was the avengers compound. Where you first met. Thor had called Bruce ahead to let everyone know about your arrival and situation. You glanced around, faintly aware of the familiarity of the building. Tears were welling in the corner of your eyes as you run your hand along the smooth glass. The team had broken apart for the most part. Bucky moved back to New York to watch over Steve and to help with Sam. Wanda mourned her loss alone, in Scotland. Hawkeye stayed with his family, rarely visiting. Peter was always worrying about school, you didn’t blame him. Dr. Strange was always his own person. It was just so empty. It hurt more when you looked over to the kitchen, remembering nights spent with Bucky and not Loki. A hand rests on your shoulder, you turn around and see Bucky.
“Do you remember me?”
The tears finally burst, and you collapse into his arms. “Of course I remember you.”
Loki himself felt tears slowly slip down his cheeks, he wanted you back in his arms. He understood that it would take time, but it was so hard to watch you collapse into Bucky. Loki knew he had no intention to have you, just that you were friends. It still hurt. Bucky makes yer contact with him, he freezes. Loki looks away, not wanting anyone to know the pain he’s in. Thor rests a hand on his shoulder, a friendly reminder he wasn't alone. Bucky rubs your shoulders and leads you away from the center of the room, to the staircase.
“Why are we here?” You rub your eyes.
“Take a good look around.”
You don’t argue with him and study around the staircase. Your mind is cloudy, but there’s something oddly familiar about the steps. You walk up and down them, your hand sliding down the cold metal of the railing. Closing your eyes, you focus on the stairs. Why are they so familiar? Why is this room calling to you? You let the energy flow through your body, the familiar spark of lightning in your blood making you feel alive again. You plunge into darkness and open your eyes to three people. Their faces are blurry, words clear. A girl you guess, with (H/C) locks, stands in front of a male. He towers over her and has raven black hair. To the right of the girl is another male, blonde locks floating down his shoulder.
“This is Loki?”
The guy on the right nodded, “indeed. This is my brother.”
“He certainly doesn’t look or behaves anything like you.”
“Adopted.”
“He’s not armed, right?”
“No.”
The girl walks up to him, poking him right in his chest. The raven-haired man grunts in annoyance and she grins.
“Is he going back to Asgard?”
The blondie shakes his head, “My father requests he stays here on Midgard as punishment.”
“He’s staying here?”
“Indeed lady (Y/N).”
You grab onto the staircase as you stumble back into reality. Bucky catches you as the lights flood back into the compound. Your heart pounds in your chest with the realization of what you saw.
“(Y/N)?” Bucky ventures.
“I’m okay,” You assure him, “I just, I saw him.”
Bucky gives you a perplexed look, “how could you see? You turned off all the lights. You did your weird sparkly hands thing too.”
“I don’t know, I closed my eyes and suddenly I saw myself with Loki and Thor. The first time we met.”
“You remember?”
“Sure,” You shrug. “After Tony moved upstate, Thor came to see the new place and brought Loki with him. Mostly because after Loki tried to take over the throne again, he didn’t trust him. So, he brought him here and had him cuffed so he couldn’t use his magic. And I was all like ‘this is the infamous Loki?’”
Bucky is wide-eyed, you said it with such ease like you always knew. Which, he guesses you did. “You remembered.”
“I did? I did! Oh my god, I did!” You shout, jumping up and down. You run into the room Loki was just in, hands still sparking. “Loki!”
He turns to you and you hug him tight, wrapping your arms around him. Carefully avoiding shocking him.
“I beg your pardon?” He said. “What happened?”
“That’s the thing!” You look up at him through your lashes, “I don’t know. I was in the room and I just closed my eyes and then I saw you and I remembered! Only what happened there.”
Thor stands in the back, grinning as he watches his brother's happiness and yours grow once again. He decided to stay back with bruce and Steve, catching up. He knew you two would figure it out.
Loki smiles, his cheeks hurting from how wide it is. “This is truly wonderful.”
Conveniently for you, the next stop was located a few floors up. Loki leads you into the room, a hand on the small of your back. Warmth, spreading from there. You examine the room, trying to find a connection point you could use. Loki’s hand leaves your back and you immediately miss the feeling. You step forward, the room is a basic gray color with large windows. A black couch placed in front of a TV and a small kitchen in the corner. Probably one of Tony’s many common rooms. A spark pops off the glass and you immediately walk over and place your hand on it.
“Are you good?” You ask Loki, making sure he was ready for the dark.
He nods, and you shut your eyes, let the energy flow through your body. The darkness consumes you.
“Would you say something?!” The girl shouted, a scowl evident on her face.
The male shook his head.
“Please... I miss you.” She begged.
The only thing following was silence. You saw tears brimming in her eyes, it was stupid so stupid. She sniffled, and you saw the males entire back tense up.
“Why won’t you say anything?” Her voice cracked.
The male spun around, “I can’t say anything because I’m afraid I’ll say that I love you!”
She froze, him looking glumly at the ground.
“Stop lying,” She said, your voice shaking.
“I’m not lying,” He replied, still looking away.
“Stop, stop, stop it!” She cried.
He stepped forward, grabbing face in his hands. He wipes the tears escaping, “You have to believe me.”
“I- I can’t.”
He sighs, looking past her face before leaning in. She doesn’t stop him.
When their lips meet you feel a surge of lightning running through you. It’s powerful and knocks you off your feet. Sparks surround your hands and the scene in front of you. The sparks travel up and around your arms. You try shaking them off, they stay. The scene in front of you is quickly fading. The two figures are now hugging, the one you presume is Loki is holding you tight.
“Do you believe me now?” He whispers before the scene disappears entirely.
When you clash back into reality, you release your grip on the darkness and the light slowly creeps back in. Loki is holding you in his arms.
“Are you okay?” He asks. “You were standing there and then you just started falling.”
“I’m great,” You reply. And maybe it was the scene you just saw, or maybe you finally remembered, but you grabbed the back of Loki’s neck and let his lips meet yours in a soft kiss. His hands immediately fall to your waist. Your whole bolt feels like it’s alive, lightning running through your veins.
He pulls away smiling, “I think you know what happened in here.”
You grin, blushing, “You could say that.”
The last place Loki took you wasn’t in the compound. You had to travel to Hawaii. It was far, you couldn’t recall what was there. What memory you would discover. Loki, however, was anxious. He gripped your hand tightly the whole flight there. He fiddled with the ring he gave you. Over your week spent in the compound, every room spoke to you. More and more memories recovered themselves. It felt like you’d known Loki your whole life. There was just one more piece missing. The conclusion. You squeezed Loki’s hand a bit tighter at the thought and nestled up against up to sleep for the rest of the way.
Loki felt heat rise to his cheeks when you nestled against him. He admired the way you tucked your head into the crook of his neck and closed your eyes, breathing in his scent. He smiled down at you and gently ran his other hand through your hair. You moved closer to him at the action. He placed a gentle kiss on your forehead, silently thanking the gods that you were coming back to him.
 + + +
You and Loki were the only two that traveled to Hawaii, soon after arrival you crashed at a hotel. Loki respectively booked a room with two beds. You immediately crashed onto your, pulling the blankets tighter and closing your eyes. Loki himself did the same as it was late a night.
+ + +
You woke with a jolt, sparks flying from your hands and burning the sheets. You silence them. Your breathing is shallow, coming out in quick-paced breathes. It felt like a nightmare. It was, but it also seemed real. You cling onto the last bits of your dream. It was Loki and you, on a ship with Thanos and he murdered Loki. He crushed his windpipe and dropped him to the ground like nothing more than a sack of potatoes. You have to whisper to yourself that Loki is here, he’s in the bed next to you, but the pain and remorse of your dream are vivid. It’s clear as day. Without thinking, you crawl into Loki’s bed. He stirs, awaken but says nothing and only embraces you in his arms. It’s late at night and he knows you’ll talk in the morning. Instead, he hugs you close pressing kisses to your forehead until your breathing is steady again.
 + + +
By the time you woke up the next morning, Loki has already gotten breakfast. You devoured it before getting ready for the day. Loki didn’t prod into last night, he would wait until you wanted to talk. Instead, he took you to a remote beach. White sand covering it and crystal waves crashing onto the shore. The sun melted into the sea as the stars began to show in its afterglow. There wasn’t anything for you to grip onto, to head the lightning and see what happened here, but you didn’t need it. When you turned around and saw Loki on one knee your memories came back. All of them. You didn’t need a vision to know what happened here, you remembered exactly how he proposed to you. Loki saw the look on your face, he saw a small spark burst in your eyes and he knew you were back. When he got up you ran to him and kissed him. Cupping his face in your hands, letting the kiss speak more than a thousand words. Time and time again you’d go back to him.
“You remembered,” He cried, holding you.
“Loki, I will always remember you.”
He presses his forehead to yours, tears running down his cheeks as he smiles. “I missed you.” You kiss him again, this time soft and gentle as the sun slips below the horizon.
 + + +
“Loki Laufeyson, I will always remember you, I will always walk toward you and I will never forget one day spent in your company. I will love you until there is nothing left of me until my sparks fly.”
Loki smiles wide across from you, holding your hand. He pushes back your veil just as the priest announces, “you may now kiss the bride!”
The crowd cheered as you kissed, your arms wound around his neck as he dips you low beneath the Hawaiian sun. And in that span of ten minutes, One-sixth of an hour, 600 seconds, not even a tenth of the day, your life changed, for the better this time. You were promised Loki, the universe finally giving in. He was yours and you would remain forever, always.
END
Happy birthday to me! What better way to celebrate than with Loki?
