[ SERIES MASTERLIST ]

Jungkook double-checked everything he wrote to ensure the options were fitting for both of you. Before getting out of the car, he stuffed the scraps of paper into his pocket. He pulled on his black Supreme jersey shirt, flattened his joggers, and ran his hands through his hair. His palms were sweating as he approached your door.

Even though the two of you had been together for a few weeks, he was still concerned that one small mistake could set the two of you back a few steps, which he didn't want to happen.

When he knocked on the door, he heard shuffling from the other side. You were scurrying around, slipping on your shoes and hoping not to fall on your face. When you opened the door, you saw your very cute boyfriend holding two pieces of paper. You recognized it right away because you had seen it trending on TikTok. Then you noticed his phone, which was recording what you assumed was an interactive 'choose your date' game.

Your mouth's corners also curled upward to mirror his.  You were glad you chose a cute outfit to wear since this was being recorded. Jungkook wiggled his eyebrows, waiting for you to choose.

Jungkook must have used thick cardboard to prevent you from cheating as you deliberated between the two, squinting to see if you could read what was written on it.

“Come on, baby. You gotta pick one.”

You waved your finger back and forth before selecting the one on the right, checking to see what you had selected: sushi. You squealed at your choice, muttering a ‘yes’ as you stepped out of your door.

“Good choice,” Jungkook smiled.

“What was on the other paper?”

“I can’t tell you that,” he scowled, opening the passenger door for you, in which you rolled your eyes.

The sushi dinner was scrumptious—you could eat sushi all day if you could. Toward the end of dinner, Jungkook pulled out another set of choices, dangling it in front of you. Hmm. You had already chosen the right side before, maybe you should go for the left. You tried plucking the left card from his grasp, but he wouldn’t let go.

"Hey!" you protested in pout.

He darted his eyes to the right card, hoping you’d catch his drift. You chuckled, shaking your head. You thought it was your choice, not his. Regardless, you chose the card he desired: ice cream by the pier, but not before taking the other card to see the second option, a DIY S'mores bar. You'd have been happy either way, but Jungkook must have been craving ice cream.

The pier was surprisingly tame for a Saturday night. A few kids running around, parents chasing after them, couples and groups of friends laughing and walking around. And then there were the two of you, newly dating, and getting to know each other properly.

Jungkook held your hand, placing a kiss on the back of it. The sentiment made your stomach flutter. He had been so sweet to you these past few weeks, being attentive to your wants and needs, and leaving you small gifts here and there. You appreciated the gestures but he didn’t always have to spoil you.

You peered at your cute boyfriend, happily licking away at his vanilla and chocolate swirled ice cream cone. He couldn’t choose just one, so he chose both. You figured he’d get the best of both worlds.

The two of you stood outside your door and he stopped you before you could go in. He held up two more cards, awaiting your decision. You sighed before choosing the card on the left, which was: a hug. You could only guess what was on the other card.

Jungkook crouched down, embraced his arms around your thighs before lifting you up, causing you to squeal. You quickly snaked your arms around his neck.

“Jungkook! What are you doing?” You protested.

“Giving you a hug,” he smiled.

“This is not a hug!” You countered, lightly slapping his shoulder, uttering for him to put you down.

He chuckled. “Sorry, I’ve always wanted to do that to someone I was dating.”

You grinned. “Weirdo.”

“Your weirdo.”

“Mm, my weirdo,” you whispered, wrapping your arms around him for a real hug.

You nudge your nose against his, pulling him flush to you. "You don't want to stay?" You hadn't gone past second base but you were itching for just a bit more from him. The tension was killing you for the past few weeks.

He understood what you were saying and was tempted to say yes. He'd love to stay and cuddle and kiss you all night, but he knew where that would lead, and he didn't want to rush anything with you—he wanted to take his time. To be honest, he was sure he'd want to have sex with you all the time if things between you got physical, but you were different, and you made him want to do things differently. You deserved better, better than the previous relationships he’s had.

"Mm, I want to, but I shouldn't," he murmured, lips ghosting over yours.

You frowned at his remark and he couldn't help but chuckle at how cute you were. He placed a kiss on your neck, making you shudder at his effect on you. You were surprised by how long he had been holding out on you, but you didn’t want to ruin such a new thing with him.

“Mmkay.”

“Did you have fun tonight?”

You nodded and grinned. “Can I plan our next date?”

He hummed before capturing your lips with his. “Mm—you make me wanna stay.”

You tugged on his bottom lip, shaking your head, and gave him a devilish smile. “You made your bed, gotta lie in it,” you said, kissing him once more. “Good night.”

snowbaz.scriv is my catch-all Scrivener file for all ficcy things

There’s a person that I used to be. Magic I used to hold, magic that held me. I have done everything I can to forget that feeling, because it was never supposed to be mine. I was never magic. He’s magic. He’s magic, and I can almost touch him. He’s magic, and he can almost hold me. I live on the edge of almost all the time, so that’s enough. (It’s never enough.)

8. ♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP.

This was originally planned as a story written in letters. (Doing that with something else, now, and it works way better in a different story.)

9. 🤔What’s a story you’d love to write but haven’t even started yet?

I'm going to stick to snowbaz fanfic for this, because if I broaden it any further, this list will instantly become quite long. (I have a lot of original story ideas.) For snowbaz, though? Well, there's the one I'm planning for COTTA. There are a couple AU's that I've written way too many notes on. And then a Fangirl crossover fic that I sincerely hope to someday write. (Technically I started it, but only a few hundred words at this point.)

10. 🤡How many WIPS are you actively working on?

Actively? One. Maybe two. Kinda thinking two, but the second one is new and more of a game at this point, so we'll see. (Not quite so actively I also have my Baz fic, my "Silence" fic where Baz successfully steals Simon's voice. It's roughly (super roughly) outlined, and I've written several scenes, but it's on the back-burner for Haunting. And COTTA. No more new fics after that, though! I really want to tell that story!)

11. 🛠Is there a scene or anything in the WIP you are struggling with right now?

That's funny. What a question. XD YES. Yes, there are scenes. I'm designing Pitch Manor to get through this damned scene LOL

2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?

Hands down Eurotrip - I think it's about 45k right now.

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

Eurotrip. By my projection, 180k.

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

I love writing my co-writes. I just find them so, so fun to plot and jointly scream about.

But I also find writing The-Ring In 2.0 very easy because it's just so. damn. silly (see also [Redacted] Christmas Fic which I think might be the stupidest thing I've ever written).

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

Eurotrip because it's SO LONG and also I keep having self-doubt.

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

See above. I think because I keep worrying it's not good enough. I really wanted it to be so perfect and I think that perfectionism is haunting me. Plus, I keep getting discouraged that it's boring and everyone else is doing the same thing but better lol.

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

All of them because frankly I can't be trusted not to give a character six hands or put them in the shower with their clothes on.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

Eurotrip, many times. Not Now But Soon. Cause of Action. Product Placement. All of them have been haunted.

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

Definitely The Ring-In 2.0. I have Richard "Dick" Reynolds, the childhood 'nemesis' of Carlos Reyes that turns up at an inopportune moment. Also, an unnamed OC which will basically be a play on Tad Mikowski from the Aspen episode of South Park (if anyone has seen it).

OH ALSO. REDACTED RWRB CHRISTMAS FIC HAS THE MOST RIDICULOUS OC OF ALL TIME. seriously. i cannot wait to write him.

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

Well I've barely started The Ring-In 2.0 and they've already fucked in a spin cycle shower stall so...

I think Call Me (By My Name) will also be fyyyyyre since Rae is there with me.

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

Not Now But Soon or Eurotrip. Neither are particularly angsty, but I don't write angst (well).

12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?

I think the [Redacted] co-write with Jen will be heartwarming and funny and Jen is amazing at characterisation so I have faith she will carry the team ;)

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

Eurotrip (I HOPE). The Ring-In 2.0 could be really fucking funny if the scene setting is good. Also, [Redacted] RWRB Christmas fic if I can pull it off. 'Scene setting' but not as you know it ;)

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

Eurotrip, but it continues to evade me.

15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?

Eurotrip. Which is the whole damn problem with it.

16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?

Yes. I hate it because I can dream it but not write it (WHY?)

17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?

Eurotrip, because the characters are covering a lot of distance (literally). It involves more research than the others. Call Me (By My Name) for [redacted] REASONS.

18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?

Oh shit. All of them? Humour is my brand people!! I mean The Ring-In 2.0 will be straight up ridiculous, of course. I have cackled over the plotting for [redacted] with Jen and Call Me (By My Name). There are some truly stupid moments in Eurotrip. The whole of Product Placement is basically crack. The REDACTED RWRB CHRISTMAS FIC. GUYS. THIS FUCKING FIC. WILL BE THE STUPIDEST THING I'VE EVER WRITTEN (also it has nothing to do with Christmas don't look at me).

19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?

Not really, but I have to create some OCs for The Ring-In 2.0 and also bring back a bunch of existing OCs from the original, which makes the characterisation aspect a little more complex.

20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.

Redacted RWRB Christmas fic is basically being co-created by my sister who offered to jump into my Google docs. A family affair!

all of @ep6bastogne's wips (yes i read all your tags about them in utter anticipation), @luckynumber4's burgie wip! anything @footprintsinthesxnd writes! same with @lewis-winters ALL of your wips sound so so sooooo up my street/my thing!! there are so many more but despite my plans to spend the day at home i actually have to leave the comfort of my bed and brave the cold outside, and i'm late already so i'm gonna have to stop listing, but it's very likely that i'm excited for almost every single wip any of you guys have!

28 - what's something that lives in your brain rent free and you want everyone to know about the show/the fandom/your works?

outside of hbowar??? oooh i have LOADS of things!! the thick of it!! it has such clever funny writing, the best dialogue and political satire ever, because it's just so true to life and accurate for uk politics. peter capaldi is fucking amazing in it! and you'll see a lot of uk actors that are famous for other things here. but yeah, it's just hilarious and witty and clever. love it. go watch it. ummm other than that, the korean band onewe!! please go listen to them, they are ridiculously talented and have the kindest most lovely and accepting fandom in the world. in fact, the hbo war fandom and onewe fandom are the only two fandoms i've ever felt happy and comfortable in. onewe write beautiful songs with the most gorgeous lyrics (they have a space series which is one of my all-time favourites). ALSO pride (2014) as a movie recommendation! this film is my comfort film but it tears me apart as well. some people watch it for the queerness and come away learning about welsh history too.. for others, it's the opposite. but as a welsh gay man for me both those elements are so important to who i am and my own identity, that this film is just feels so incredibly special to me. especially the character gethin who i really feel i can relate to a lot due to our circumstances. tim roth is someone who i always wanna shout about and who lives rent free in my head too. love that man so much. also the band the libertines!! because them and the strokes were my entire teenage years and i pretty much grew up with their music as my 'soundtrack'. ok i think that's enough, even though i definitely have way more to shout about. sorry i rambled!

notes: THIS FUCKING FIC OH LORD. i just finished reading it recently and i had to sit down and reevaluate my whole existence for like a day afterwards. it PERFECTLY captures the dynamic of taotu milex - the playfulness, the intensity, the heart-wrenching love they have for each other that underlines everything. it's beautifully written with some *very* hot smut scenes and honestly it's amazing and if you haven't read it already then what are you waiting for?? (there are also two sequels, the first of which i am currently halfway through and it is just as incredible oh my god)

Been Away Too Long To Be Afraid by @stereobone

summary: Miles goes to visit Alex in Los Angeles to get his mind off his recent breakup. It works far better than expected.

notes: THIS FIC oh my goodness. it is in no small way responsible for how deep into this fandom i have sunk, as it was one of the first milex fics i ever remember reading and it's just so stupidly good. their characterisation is ON POINT and it's just the perfect balance of yearning/miscommunication/slow build. oh, any absolutely beautiful writing style too. my only complaint is that it went by WAY too fast when i was reading it lol.

Shy Of A Spark by @elorianna

summary: The Arctic Monkeys are about to play Glastonbury, their biggest gig yet, and Alex is struggling with stage fright. Fortunately for him, he has Miles to help him feel braver, and with his best friend by his side, surely nothing can go wrong.

Except that now it's the day of the show, Miles is acting strange, and the gig is no longer the only thing giving Alex stage fright. With the hours racing past, will he get his head in the game in time for their headline performance? And will he find a way to be brave, in more ways than one?

notes: this fic has such a special place in my heart, and i've lost count of how many times i've re-read it. it totally captures the fear of falling for someone who already means so much to you, and is just BEAUTIFULLY written with gorgeous characterisation and layers of theme and subtext on bravery and performance throughout. i literally cannot recommend it enough!! i am such a massive fan of all of elorianna's works, but i'm limiting myself to reccing one long and one short one here so this list doesn't become endless lol.

Terra Incognita by @yellowloid

summary: His fear of thunderstorms is something Alex has managed to keep a secret for most of his life. Nobody knows except his parents, and he’s determined to keep it that way. Except now he’s stuck in his apartment with Miles, the world outside is being shaken by a raging downpour, and maybe his fear isn’t the only thing that’s becoming difficult to hide. Or: they comfort each other in unconventional ways.

notes: i love the whole theme of unexplored lands that runs through this fic, it's gorgeously written and it feels like it touches on something so fitting for miles and alex's dynamic (also alex's thoughts about words in it feel SO in character). also i am such a sucker for a good hurt/comfort, and this ABSOLUTELY delivers the goods. god, the build up? the smut? the everything??? it's amazing, and full of so many stunning little details and nuances.

The Galaxy's Edge by @richiebrook

summary: Alex hasn’t been feeling like himself. He's used to it – tour life usually makes him feel a bit out of it, as if he were drifting in space - but it does put a strain on his relationship with the rest of the band and his girlfriend Taylor. Miles, his best friend turned lover, calls him up twice a week to make sure he doesn't drift too far. Their biweekly ritual helps Alex. The same can't be said for Taylor, who is perfectly aware of what Miles really is to her boyfriend. And so the Monkeys tour continues, Alex drifts and Miles anchors. But is it really drifting if you know exactly where you need to be?

notes: okay, so there are a whole bunch of tags for this fic that would usually make it not my thing, BUT the writing is just so incredibly skilled and the characterisation of alex is so multi-layered and interesting that it i found myself getting completely sucked in. i have to say, it definitely is quite angst heavy so it's not a fic for if you're in a mood for some feelgood fluff - but it's beautifully written and a super thought-provoking and nuanced character study.

SHORTER FICS

summary: On a hot summer day during their EYCTE Puppets tour, Miles and Alex find themselves stuck on a tour bus without any air conditioning. As they try to find ways to distract themselves from the heat, the boys end up struggling to maintain their cool in more ways than one…

notes: i mean... this fic is just... *fans self* so hot. the way elorianna writes the build up of sexual tension is MASTERFUL.

Christmas Eve Will Find Me Where The Love Light Gleams by literevie

summary: Alex caught covid just before he was about to head home for Christmas. Now he's stuck alone in London, pretending to be brave about it all. But Miles finds out and decides to visit him to drop by some of his mums' famous christmas cooking to help him feel less lonely. Plot twists occur of course.

notes: this is such a special fic... i've rarely read one that feels like it has such a profound understanding of the dynamic between miles and alex, and it deals with the joy and the complexity of all that entails with just so much skill and poignancy. it's in the shorter fics category, but the PACE of this whole fic is just perfect and unrushed. it also features one of the best ever love confession scenes i've read. honestly it's just magic. the whole fic is.

Amsterdam by @richiebrook

summary: This one is set during the first night of Miles’ European tour, after Miles overhears a group of people in the audience singing “Where the fuck is Alex Turner?” as soon as he leaves the stage. Needless to say, it’s not the big opening night Miles had hoped for. Feeling like he's lost control of his own tour, he calls Alex up, fully intending to blame him for everything. Luckily, Alex knows just how to prove to him that he's still very much in control after all.

notes: god, this is so beautifully written. the characterisation and the dynamic between them is just MASTERFUL. it honestly took my breath away the first time i read it for how real the way they interact feels. so many layers to this despite it being such a short fic (and the smut is really hot too).

summary: "Wanna make out?" Alex coughed out a cloud of thick smoke. He blinked and looked at Miles next to him. Miles was making quite the sight, sprawled out across Alex's sheets with a dirty smirk plastered on his face. He looked nice, spread out like that. All relaxed and comfortable, as if he'd always been destined to end up right there in Alex's bed.Or: Whilst writing their first album together, Alex and Miles get high, and Miles has a great idea about how they could be spending their time.

notes: this was one of the first milex fics i ever read and ahhhhhh. i still reread it often bc i just adore it! the tension and the tenderness in it is just 10/10 and i love how much they were both totally, helplessly into each other throughout it. wonderful writing.

notes: god, this fic just has it all for me. the characterisation of miles and alex's dynamic is just SPOT ON and right from the beginning has this wonderful sense of innate connection in a way that feels so authentic. i can already tell that the slow burn is going to destroy me (in the best possible way). it's also BEAUTIFULLY written with evocative descriptions that draw you straight into the story, super relatable themes, and wonderful snort-out-loud-at-your-computer-screen arctic monkeys boys banter.

notes: oooooh the ANIMOSITY and the tension between miles and alex sets up such an addictive dynamic in this, and the au vibes are just IMMACULATE. i have to admit, i'm only one chapter in but i'm already so hooked i couldn't not add it to the list. the dialogue in it is beautifully done and so full of character, and the whole thing just feels like watching a really cool movie play out onscreen.

Maybe it's because of the time spending together or maybe it's because of the things happening when they're on stage but people start wondering what is really going on between the two.

His words were spoken softly, quietly, but without any hesitation or faltering. Alex is an elusive poet, who has a way with words and Miles is a bartender, who is completely mesmerized.

The Requiem First Time Smut - it's six thousand words long and contains only one orgasm so far. aka the wednesday night where CJ shows up and they 'don't reallly talk' (except nobody is naked yet because they can't stop fucking talking!)

tww plane crash au - on the way back from a summit in Japan, AF1 crashes on a small island in the South Pacific. This project is my baby but alas. Featuring bioluminescence, sex cabanas and copious amounts of Repentance.

sperm donor AU - canon divergent in s5 of tww, after slow news day et al, where CJ starts seriously thinking about her life post-administration... and having a kid. Coincidentally, Danny comes back into her life around the same time.

mash triad ski au - BJ and Peg go on vacation over Christmas of 1998, and meet another skiier when they all get trapped on a chair lift together 😉

triad wedding - I include this on every list (sigh) just because a whole draft exists, it just needs to be burned to the ground, chopped up with a machete and started from scratch and I burned out hard wriitng draft one. Anyway, final part of the first "arc" of Home verse. BJ, Peg and Hawkeye get 'married'.

Ambassador Spock - genuinely don't think I've touched this since 2021 but. Kirk is still captain of the Enterprise, charged with bringing the Vulcan ambassadors (Sarek and his son Spock) to a summit, "Journey to Babel" style only with more Spirk.

5-Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I really, really want to, because comments make me SO SO SO happy, and I occasionally have some wonderful people who go through and comment on every single thing I've written which is the DREAM -- but I don't always have the mental bandwidth to do it. So let me just say right now that if you've ever left a comment I have read it, and I loved it, and you made my day better.

6-What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhh .... there are a lot. People can cast their votes on this one, but I'd say maybe Ambrosia or Don't Flinch?

7-What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I had to leave THG for this one, lol. But I think Impossible Magic, which is a fix-it for the Enchanted Forest Chronicles that solves something that bugged me about a series I otherwise adore.

8-Do you get hate on fics?

the real ones will remember, lol. I had one specific reader who would leave, like, novel-length comments on every single chapter of every single fic about everything he hated / disagreed with. My favourite was the list of my D2 victors in order of who he hoped would get killed off from most to least (Petra was at the top and Emory was at the bottom SORRY MAN). I honestly don't know why he was still reading if everything annoyed him so much, lmao.

If ever I get a mean anon I delete it though. You won't catch me responding to anon hate.

9-Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Not....... really. I write sex in very specific situations but it's usually to serve a purpose and I'm kind of ... vague about it, even when I think I'm being explicit (for me). I'm sure people could pick out sex written by me pretty easily. It's not exactly fade to black because that implies skipping to later, this is more like ... elisions, I guess.

10-Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Very famously, yes. I'm not sure what I'd consider the weirdest one. Temeraire / THG victors as dragons? Watership Down / THG rabbits?

11-Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Fanfic, no, I don't think so, but I have had original stories stolen and put up on Amazon. It's the reason I took down my FictionPress account and have all my original things locked on LJ / DW.

Never say never???? But sadly, probably the Portal/Emory's Games crossover if only because all the notes on the super complicated Arena were on a computer that died and I don't remember anything

16-What are your writing strengths?

Character and feelings, babeyyyyy. Also my hallmark is making people care (or at least think) about characters they absolutely despised before

17-What are your writing weaknesses?

Plot is hard. Every time I think I've done something complicated I'll read a book by someone with an actual intricate plot and need to lie down for 500 hours

18-Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Nah. Generally I use dialogue tags to tell the reader what language is being spoken

19-First fandom you wrote for?

Star Wars, when I was 12, though it was just me and my bff. Dragon Ball Z was the first time I actually realized fandom was a Thing

I will always have a soft spot for Fixed to a Star, I think

0 - don’t care either way

Mmm, no? Especially not for younger characters, but like, its not a thing I seek or or actively dislike in general.

Codependency: +5

LOL yes, I'm into fics that explore this. Either in a fun way or in a serious way, because its interesting no matter what. I suppose sometimes if we're talking really toxic codependancy that isnt dealt with it might turn me off in the long run but it definitely will draw my interest in the tags.

Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +4

Complicated feelings. I'm kinda into it, so it definitely wont put me off, but jealousy as a trope can either be really fun in a story or really toxic. Like, I'm a little obsessed with Simon's jealousy in the series, because its not the kind where he gets mad at Baz, really, or lashes out at him, its very internal and about his own insecurity, but also really indicative of how very attached he is despite his assertions through wayward son that he was going to end things.

I love a bit of possessiveness as long as its not the kind that hurts their partner or turns really bad to the point of me disliking the character.

So, yeah, in most situations i'm a fan of exploring this, though I can't say I specifically look for it.

Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): +8

Yes, definitely. I love this in a romance, its really fun to explore those dynamics. Like, IRL I think really good relationships have people who make up for each other's shortcomings, or balance each other, like if one is really impulsive it helps when the other is level headed or a planner, or else you just get an echo chamber of rash decision making (or, on the other end, no spontaneity!) I like seeing how their differences effect the other. It's a really fun dynamic to read about.

Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +4

I mean, I'm a snowbaz fan so I gotta right? I do think though that the idea of true enemies to lovers is usually not done it a way that really works for me, because a lot of the time i cant see why these people end up together, because its all anger and hate lust and sometimes it doesn't ever evolve past that, or we just skip the bit where we see them getting along. Ideally theres enemies to friends to lovers, or at the very least friendship within the lovers realm.

I guess what I'm saying is they still need to like each other or else it make me sad.

Friends with benefits: +2

Ehhh is it benefits to full on love? I don't really connect with allo perspectives on sexual relationships, like I get them intellectually but I don't jive with them on an emotional level, so there has to be that emotional draw for me, that underlying romance. I mean tho, @fatalfangirl stacy is writing an excellent fic on this premise right now that I absolutely love because there are clearly feelings involved. But it also might fall more into the realm of the next trope on this list ... which is ...

Sex to feelings: +10

Oh yes yes yes. Pining while actively having sex is absolutely my thing.

Fake dating/relationship: -1

I am not really opposed. This is just a very romcom trope for me in that it rarely delivers really big honest emotions, its usually a lot of fun contrivance. Which is definitely a good time and has an appeal, but I generally don't take to these stories as much as others. I think its one that really depends on how its written, because I have read some REALLY good ones too.

Friends to lovers: +6

I like this a lot, I think it can have a good amount of tension when done right which is important for me in a story. Plus I love the slow burn of feelings, and also just the depth of emotion and comfort you get from friends to lovers, and sometimes it can be genuinely hard when one of those friends is dating other people, or if theres a really interesting thing keeping them apart. Yeah, I like it.

Found Family: +1

I don't feel a specific way about it, definitely not a turn off. I've read a few really really sweet fics that frame the trio (Baz, Simon and Penny) as found family, which is nice. Generally just fine about it.

Hurt/Comfort: +10

PUT IT DIRECTLY. INTO MY MOUTH. I am a fucking sap for hurt/comfort. It gives me the swoops. There is fucking nothing I like better than lovers (or almost lovers) comforting each other and taking care of each other, emotionally, physically, spiritually, whatever. It's sexy to me. It affects me deeply.

Love Triangle: -7

I fuckin hate love triangles actually, in all manner of media. Like, it's not a sure thing that it'll put me off a fic on sight, but I seriously can't think of any examples where this trope didn't make me deeply unhappy.

Poly, open relationships: -5

Mmm I'm very monogamous and also have bad history with open relationships so I definitely don't seek this out and it's generally a big turn off for me in a fic. But that being said I am deeply interested in the complexity of managing an open relationship (something sort of touched on in Someone Wicked) and there are definitely some throuples that I can totally get behind. I am allergic to most snowbaz throuples except sid/simon/baz (catch me one day writing some delectable threeway smut for Dre.)

Mistaken/hidden identity: +2

I truly don't know if I've ever read a story with this that like, really drew me in a specific way? I don't think this is a regular snowbaz trope either, and I admittedly don't wander too far from the snowbaz fic these days. I'm not opposed, just don't have a specific affinity for it.

Monsterfucking: +6

I like monsterfucking, but its gotta be tied to emotions. (Those emotions can be overwhelming incoherent ecstasy tho.)

Pregnancy: -9

I want kids and I like kids, don't care to read about them or pregnancy. That being said, I have read nearly every mpreg fic in this fandom (snowbaz) because you all are too talented and too fucking powerful. But it took me a while to click on them, generally.

Second Chance: +8

I do actively seek this tag out, because I am a sadist, but breakup angst also really truly hurts me. As someone who's a well known angstweaver (which I definitely just made up) most angst is appealing to me, delicious to read, exquisite, etc, but breakup angst wounds me deep ya'll. I hate thinking of them not together. I hate thinking of them thinking they are better off not together. I hate IT it makes me cry all of my tears.

But I love the path of recovery and finding their way back to each other. That shit is GREAT.

Slowburn: +10

Yeah baby gimme that pining. I love a slowburn because I love tension, and you get such good fucking tension when it takes a lot of work for them to get together. Also you just see more rounded, complex characterization because they are generally working through feelings and spending time together and just building up that relationship. And I'm a sucker for it, makes the get together all the sweeter. I love all kinds of burns, but slow burn gets me good.

Soulmates: +9

Yes, absolutely yes to soulmate fics. I also love a trope reversal here specifically, because there's a part of me that's also obsessed with the choice over destiny factor and seeing how that comes into play meaningfully, but I will say that the vast majority of Snowbaz soulmate fics have been really fucking good and it's a tag I purposefully seek out.

Can I ask about "truth serum or dare" from you WIP list? 👀

it was originally my February YOTP entry which I am very late on lol

Basically: every year, Bruce makes everyone go through something akin to exposure therapy with truth serum. Tim, Dick, Jason, Steph, and Damian have instead turned it into a modified game of truth or dare where you challenge someone to a dare and if they decline, you get to ask them a question, prompting a forced response via truth serum.

Tim usually wins the game with his lying to Batman skills, but Steph is trying to pull of a surprise victory that year by exploiting Tim's crush on Dick.

Long excerpt is below the cut:

Steph glares down at the aerosol canister like it personally broke her dad out of Blackgate, once upon a time.

"I just don't get why we have to do this every six months," she says, tossing the canister from one hand to the other.  

Tim shrugs. "Could be worse. Could be every two months. Like the Gotham sewer escape drill."

"Ugh, don't remind me," She grumbles.

"At least it isn't shots anymore. That's one good thing."

There's a knock at the door frame.

"Hey, are you two ready?" Dick asks, poking his head in. He looks a bit… dressed down.

Steph almost laughs at that. While comfortable clothes are probably a good idea for tonight, he's the only vigilante she knows who consistently wears his own merch. Though she’d be lying if she said that he didn’t make the too-tight t-shirt and Nightwing sweatpants look good…

"One sec," Tim says. He holds up the aerosol and promptly sprays himself in the face with it.

“Alright. I think it’s working, but…” He raises an eyebrow at Dick. "You get one free shot. Ask me something."

"Why can't I ask you something?" Steph asks, trying not to sound whiny.

Tim makes a face. "Because you know too much," he says. Which is honest, if uninformative. "Also, that was a question."

She sticks her tongue out at him.

Dick, on the other hand, looks like he's really thinking about it. After a moment, he grins. Wide enough that it can’t mean anything but trouble.

"Who's your favorite vigilante in Gotham?"

"You are," Tim says, apparently before he can think better of it. 

Steph gasps in faux-offense. "Rude."

"Hey, he calls it like he sees it." Dick waggles his eyebrows in a way that's exaggerated enough to make Steph laugh.

"Jerk," Tim mutters. Though he smiles as he says it, so he can't be too mad.

He stands up from his seat, putting the aerosol canister back on the counter.

"I think there's an extra one back there if you haven't gotten yours yet," he says.

"Nope, not yet. Thanks for not asking."

It's the tradition, of course, to only ask questions within the game itself or by specific request. Anything other than that counts as cheating, and generally results in automatic disqualification and the offender being made to pick up extra chores from Alfred.

Usually the worst ones. Like scraping bat guano off of various things in the Cave.

“Well, don’t take too long,” Tim says. 

Dick doesn't make any particular effort to move out of the way as Tim walks past him, but he does glance down, his eyes tracking him as he leaves.

Is he… staring at Tim's ass?

When he looks back at Steph, he startles like he'd forgotten she was there. Then his expression turns a little guilty. It's confirmation enough that yes, he absolutely was.

Steph feels herself smirking. Because this? This gives her an idea.

This is how she’s going to finally be the one to finally beat Tim at his own game. And there's nothing he's going to be able to do about it. 

Apparently her thought process is showing, since Dick raises an eyebrow at her.

"Okay…" he says, "that's a mildly terrifying expression. Do I even want to know what you're thinking?"

"Nope!"

He shakes his head. Then he goes for one of the leftover aerosol containers.

"Well, better get ready. This game isn’t going to lose itself…"

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

This is hard to say, so I guess I will list three LOL. Well, I think first place is definitely A Hyde Only Knows One Thing: Pain. But the runner-ups are Don't Let Go of Me, and Nowhere to Go.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics have happy endings because I love happy endings! I love peace and love and joy! But I guess the happiest ending would be Smoke Signals as it is a growing-back-together/reconciliation fics that carries over to Say Yes to Heaven. And I also wanna throw in This Would Have Happened Anyway, which is an old Hunger Games fic I wrote that I plan to go in and re-edit soon haha.

Do you get hate on fics?

Rarely, but yes. I think the only fic I got hate on has been A Burning Hill. Luckily most people are wonderful!

Do you write smut? What kind?

Yes, LOL. Idk what the different kinds of smut are? but I tend to write established relationship smut, it is my fav. I write it pretty graphically, but I like to make it really sweet and comforting. I love romance!

Do you write crossovers?

No, but I think they are neat

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes!!! Smoke Signals was translated into Thai by the amazing @adogfrmhell :)

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! I co-wrote Take You Like A Drug with my bestie @suchaladyy, and also Wash Away Your Woes with @nonamemanga @suchaladyy and @averyaddamsromance ! it is so fun to cowrite with friends : D

What WIP would you like to finish but doubt you ever will?

I know I will finish it, but A Burning Hill! it is just on the backburner for a while longer.

What's your all time favorite ship?

I guess I'd say everlark because they were my first ever ship! they are just so cozy and forever in my heart.

What are your writing strengths?

I'd say showing emotion and imagery! I have been told I am able to make eyes water and hearts swoon hehe

What are your writing weaknesses?

I just wont shut up sometimes LOL, i tend to give almost too many details and too much imagery. Which I know is not inherently a bad thing, but it makes all my writing pieces so goddamn long lol! I start to feel like Bram Stoker writing Dracula XD. And sometimes I feel like my dialogue can be awkward, which I suppose makes it more realistic, so once again not always bad! i am just best at writing neurodivergent characters maybe hahah

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I have done this very briefly before, but it was just two words in Spanish for a ritual scene! I would not write tons of dialogue in another language unless I had a beta who spoke that language fluently and who could translate and make sure the translation made sense.

First fandom you ever wrote for?

The Walking Dead! when i was like 12 I wrote TWD fanfic on wattpad LOL.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? LAYLOM: The first time Lily kisses James, he doesn’t even know. DWOHT: But despite his best efforts, he couldn’t take his eyes off her figure as she moved effortlessly in rhythm with whatever song she had playing. He learned she was wearing more than a t-shirt when she slid across the kitchen on her socks, throwing her head back to sing words James wished he could hear. The Art of Identification: Lily Evans, star potions pupil, can't identify Amortentia when it's staring her right in the face (or nose). Stripped Back To Basics: In which Petunia probably regrets telling Lily to "put herself out there." The Right Door: Sirius and Remus try to set up Lily and James, but turns out they've already met.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes! I love to respond!! I am QUITE behind right now (there are 40 messages in my AO3 inbox LOL), but I'll catch up!

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I was just going to leave "no comment" here, but I thought I'd say... I know exactly what fic it is, but I've yet to put it up! It's been written for a while and people have encouraged me to publish it, but it's still just sitting in my WIP folder. Maybe soon!! I'll be vague so it still packs a punch when it arrives : )

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? All of my fics tend to have happy endings! I like to tie everything up in a little bow and only recently have I been learning some open-ended restraint. My personal favourite is DWOHT when Euphemia finally gets her (first) grandkid. I found it very amusing since she'd been hounding them for so long!

Do you get hate on fics? Not on a regular basis! I've had some gentle and invited criticism when I played @annabtg brave game. Then there was a rude anon, but I couldn't really take them seriously because they were just spouting nonsense so I spent most of the time giggling at their little brain LOL!

Do you write smut. If so, what kind? YES!!!! I am THE SMUT FAIRY!! Most of my fics have smut and I've written a few plotless porn fics as well. As for what kind...mostly vanilla and tame SO FAR! I should really write something more kinky.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Nope! I'm not interested in crossovers. Unlikely I will ever write one! I certainly like to base Lily and James in situations from other universes, but don't want Lily and James to interact with the characters.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of : )

Have you ever had a fic translated? I have not! There's one regular commenter who leaves all her thoughts in Spanish and I adore that because I get to practice, but that's about as close as I've come LOL!

Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Yes! It's both an enjoyable and exhausting process for me (mostly enjoyable because I keep coming back for more LOL)! My first was with @charmsandtealeaves (Stripped Back To Basics). I'm currently writing with @wearingaberetinparis 👀 Her brain works at an insane pace, but as I am a mere mortal you'll have to wait until my semester finishes before there's any chance of us publishing! 😂

What's your all-time favourite ship? JILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are actually THE BEST!!!

What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? ALL OF THEM???? Look guys, I have like 25-30 WIPs and the list just keeps getting longer LOL! I'm hoping my gap year will help : )

What are your writing strengths? I think I come up with beautiful metaphors, my dialogue is interesting and my smut is hot! Recently added angst to my list, but it's still growing : )

What are your writing weaknesses? Proofreading LOL! Drawing things out! Putting my characters through too much pain! I'm going to be so much better at it after my collab with @wearingaberetinparis because she's an actual angst genius!

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Meh...I suppose if it makes sense, but I'd probably only bother with a language I know, otherwise, it would be quite tedious and out of place.

First fandom you wrote for? HP all the way! I haven't written or joined any other servers for other series/movies.

Favourite fic you have ever written? It's still DWOHT! LAYLOM and The Art of Identification are both up there though!

Drabble/Short Oneshot Requests

So, have been holding back on doing this because I still do have a oneshot req I need to complete, and so many WIPs it's outlandish. That being said, right now, since I'm reconditioning myself to write, it's very difficult for me to tackle those projects and get even a sentence in them at a time. So I'm sort of asking for your help in this in my theory that drabbles are a good medium and that they might help me get used to properly writing.

I'm currently comfortable writing MxF, FxF, and of course platonic relations. I tend to write angst or dark fics so nothing is off limits with me, but if you want to send in something fluffy I can try my best! Anything smutty will likely not be too "in-depth" given the length of drabbles.

I will most likely do these x reader and 2nd person unless otherwise specified.

fae!carlos with 25,219 (!!! a lot more than i thought, i thought it was around 12k lol)

i have no idea, tbh. possibly fae!carlos? but i can see demon!buck/angel!eddie getting pretty long too

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

atm demon!buck/angel!eddie only because it's taking over my mind like no other wip rn. planning on adding more tonight and last night i started and it's already at 3.5k

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

fae!carlos and buddie orgams delay. i think because i'm stuck on these. i know where i want to go, i have scenes i know i want to write, but for some reason i can't write them. it's infuriating.

ooohhhh that's easy that's all of them! possibly because i'm scared people won't like them? impostor syndrome is a pesky friend of mine

for fae!carlos i have @rmd-writes and @decafdino beta-ing (i'm so sorry i know it looks like i've abandoned it but i didn't! i swear!) with some of my buddie fics, i send some special snippets to @hippolotamus and @911-on-abc and talk to them about plot details on some of my fics.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

....why do you think a lot of them haven't been finished?

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

none of them have ocs, unfortunately.

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

buddie orgasm delay and tarlos pwp (even though that one lives mostly in my mind)

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

ooohhh fae!carlos gets pretty angsty. when @rmd-writes read the rough draft of THAT scene, she lovingly and angrily called me an evil genius

12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?

like how close they are to canon? or character growth in terms of story? whatever it is, i hope i stay close to their canon selves. and if it's the latter, perhaps either incubus!eddie/hunter!buck or demon!buck/angel!eddie

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

this is probably one of my weak spots as a writer. so i'm not sure tbh

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

fae!carlos i think that's another reason i had to take a break from it.

incubus!eddie/hunter!buck -- only because i want to get it right. i have a very specific vision for it and i want it to be perfect

yes! lol i wake up and immediately want to write but either work and school gets in the way

buddie bachelorette because i don't watch reality tv so i want to get it right for those that do (so here comes me starting to watch these shows and lowkey becoming addicted to all the drama lol)

18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?

buddie bachelorette, easy

19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?

buddie bachelorette, there are some scenes that have taylor's (the bachelorette) pov and some with hen's and ravi's pov as the producer and camera man's povs i haven't written them quite yet, but i'm looking forward to the challenge!

20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs

so like some people have guessed in my snippet for demon!buck/angel!eddie here, maddie made a deal with a demon. it is doug and since she's not a human, she has five decades and not five weeks like a human would until her time is up. (but that won't stop doug)

it says two on the tin but it is actually i think .. draft number #4 for the sedoretu fic that has been haunting me for the past year + some change. this is the modern AU where astrid/eadwulf/fjord/jester get deeply entangled and figure out what it might mean to be happy in your late 20s, with a specific focus on astrid/jester and astrid/wulf (sorry fjord, it's just the way a sedoretu shakes out)

i've talked recently, at length, about why this fic hasn't been working for me here!

and here's a long snippet, because i'm pretty sure this scene is getting scrapped whenever i make it around to draft #5 lol:

"We just have to decide how we're divvying up the ballroom," Beauregard said. She tapped her finger against the plan, which succeeded in gaining absolutely zero of Jester's attention, and then looked at Astrid instead.

"I don't even know why I'm here," Astrid said.

"You came here," Beauregard said. "Arrived before nearly everybody else, actually."

Astrid frowned. "I was on time."

"Five minutes early."

"That is on time."

"Nah. I arrived two minutes before Jester."

Astrid wished she could wipe the smug smile off of the other girl's face. "You were fifteen minutes late!"

"West coast," Beauregard said, as if that explained anything, and then she tapped Jester on the shoulder. "Hey, Jessie. The rooms."

She departed from her conversation with Caduceus about the food just long enough to turn back around in her seat and say, "Whatever you guys think! Yes!"

Beauregard lifted an eyebrow at Astrid as the conversation around vegan cupcakes resumed. "Well, dividing them evenly into four seems fine to me."

Astrid sighed, then sighed again. She looked at the list of events and pointed. "Make a larger room for the speakers. Make an even larger room for the games meetup. Small squares for the arts and crafts stuff. Divide it into twelfths, then section it up. Think about traffic flow. Don't put all the rooms that'll have high traffic at the top of every hour next to each other in the hardest to reach places." 

"Huh," Beauregard said, studying the plan. "I thought you were a lawyer."

Astrid grit her teeth, then scoffed. "I'm detail-oriented. What the fuck do you learn in art history, anyway?"

"How to piss off your father," Beauregard said. "Here, give me the pen."

Astrid gave her the pen. They marked up the plan together—yes, like that, no, not there—and then somehow it was forty-five minutes later, Astrid's cup of coffee was empty, and Jester was again sitting at her side pestering her to eat a donut.

"They're from the bakery you recommended," Jester said, sliding the donut dangerously close to Astrid's elbow. 

"I didn't actually recommend them," Astrid reminded her as she shoved the donut back. "Did you at least try them before making the order?"

"They're good!"

The whole event was a fucking disaster, Astrid thought clinically, because Jester seemed to have no particular ability to focus on any of the details that planning such a large-scale event required. She hadn't even hired a proper event manager—which was why Astrid was here, fending off her donut-y fingers, alongside half of the Mighty Nein—and, when asked, mostly replied that it was all fine and anything they didn't get ahead of time, she and Artie would figure out when the time came.

Right. Because the star of the show and her head mod were going to be running around, the day of the meetup, trying to find the missing vegan cupcakes or some shit.

Astrid sighed. Beauregard said, "Jessie, she doesn't even deserve your donut. I'll eat it."

"You have had three already," Astrid groused, and she snatched it off the napkin and ignored Jester's triumphant grin.
