the fucking KIDS at welton. the CHILDREN. maybe its just me but i always find myself forgetting that welton isnt a highschool + there are in fact a lot more students than the ones we're focusing on. thats what makes welton so like. evil? to me? they start pushing these kids into a box EARLY.

related, i wouldve LOVED to see how(/if?) keating taught these kids, or rly any other class! he has other classes!!! i think!

ok. of course. neil is a smoker, we've touched on that. but charlie is too?? and he's the one who provides the cigs???? obviously the easy explanation is that he does it to be rebellious and stuff but also Is There Something Else. much to think abt. also wondering where he gets his cigs but thats not rly anything i dont think.

this ones just funny but when mr perry tells the boys they can take a seat and todd simply does not. i KNOW he wasnt sitting before and he needs to unpack and stuff but ITS STILL FUNNY.

also!!! neil calling his dad sir. obviously its something so glaringly obvious that we dont need to have a discussion abt how theres a disconnect between them. like wow rly thanks mona i didnt know. but come on!!! it makes me sad!!! also they shake hands later in this scene and its the most affectionate/ friendly we see these two get. and its a handshake. and i think what makes it worse is that neil is a SUPER physically affectionate person with his friends. if u watch the movie and pay attention to how often he's touching someone else then ur gonna be like man. he rly was jumping at every opportunity huh.

something about the way neil and the boys act around mr perry makes me view him as more of a drill sargent than anything. everyone immediately stands upon him entering the room. they dont sit until given permission. it rly puts the whole military school thing into perspective but NOT ENOUGH TO SATISFY ME. as much as i hate mr perry, i wanna know what his life was like growing up. this man lived thru the great depression AND wwii, theres stories.

cam's stupid fucking face when keatings behind him larping ghosts. i will never stop talking about how sassy this kid is. the dps redheads go criminally unacknowledged in terms of comedy because OH MY GOD. CAM AND MEEKS WERE SO FUCKING FUNNY??? they both pulled the most dastardly judgemental looks and they make me cackle. a bit earlier in this scene meeks goes full 🙄🤨 on sniffles (tissue kid. i call him sniffles) and it is, without exaggeration, my fav part of the movie.

the fact that i totally thought knox was gonna fall off his bike and eat shit in this scene. it would be so out of place since dps isn't exactly full of physical comedy but GOD i still fully anticipated it. either that or him getting attacked by a bird. theres totally symbolism surrounding birds in this movie btw and idk what to make of it. if any of u lovely ppl have a theory then lmk immediately.

keating so accurately calling cam out being like "is this right is this right. am i walking right." BC YESSS. i will eventually make a fully fledged cam post but to briefly touch on it, i find cam to be very confused on what is right, usually in terms of morals. a whole situation of confusing your personal values with the rules, thinking theyre one in the same, and completely abandoning what u actually believe. unfortunately i think neils death rly amplified that nd is what led him to tattle. cuz cam is still willing to break the rules in the beginning of the movie!! he's outwardly judgemental but he still does it!! much to discuss, i promise i will eventually.

u guys know im an avid knox hater but this made me giggle. rip knox overstreet u wouldve loved twitch streaming.

THE SPECIFICS OF THIS SHOT. i was gonna make a post a while ago being like "idk i find it funny that the main focus of this shot isnt even one of the poets" and then i realised that WAITTTTTTT THATS THE POINT!!!! keating reached kids besides the poets!!! u didnt have to be in the dead poets society to be affected by the way he taught his classes!!! u just had to be his student!!!!! also i love the fact that the kids who stayed seated r ASHAMED. EMBARRASSED.

the ending shot. oihghgghgg. it was SUCH a choice to set it up this way and honestly i adore peter for making it. this shot is SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO LOOK AT and i love it. when i first watched this i was like "uhm ok interesting choice putting todd between this kids legs but I GET IT. one of the biggest things i remember from the film classes i took is that the way u set up shots is sooo important narratively, and one way to rly push the narrative is the space around a character in a shot. for example! if u have a character on screen surrounded by a TON of negative space then it rly emphasises how alone/ isolated they are. on the other end of the spectrum (the todd spectrum), if you surround a character in a shot with other objects or obstructions, like todd and this kids legs, then it rly emphasises how trapped and confined they are. looking at this makes me feel like. claustrophobic almost, like it's genuinely a bit harder to breathe looking at it. TODD IS STILL TRAPPED IN THAT SCHOOL. YES HE STOOD ON THE DESK AND YES HE NOW HAS THE MOTIVATION TO BE MORE CONFIDENT BC OF NEIL BUT HE! IS STILL! TRAPPED THERE!

i was also gonna add that we dont rly talk about todd personality wise outside of poetry and anxiety but then i realised, what else is there? we dont really see much about him as a person outside of that, and i think thats the point! todd is constantly overshadowed by his brother, we know that, but i dont think we realise HOW MUCH that ties in with his entire character. quite honestly, outside of poetry and anxiety, ALL we have surrounding todd is his brother and his achievements. and of course! that makes sense! his parents want him to be just like his brother, they dont care about who he is as a person. UGH.

the desk set scene rly is the most insight we'll get into todds actual personality and desires imo, and thats what kills me. he wants a car!!!! get this boy a car!!!!!!!!! we rly see him start to open up before neils death and i wouldve LOVED to get to know todd when he's actually in a place to be himself!! but of course we never got that! sobs.

anywho. thats all i have for now. PLEASE share ur thoughts if u have any pls pls pls. encouraging discussion!! i love love love hearing about the specifics nd stuff, theres soooo much to pick apart abt this movie so i wanna hear everyones thoughts.

⋆ Sam Drake - Eating Headcanons ⋆

Two words: scarcity mindset.

After running away from Saint Frances’s, to claim money was tight is to be telling some humorous bit, Money was borderline non-existent. And as such, came what the Drake boys do best: theft.

Liquor stores were their easiest, and most consistent source. Sam still takes great pride in telling his many stories revolving around ‘cashier meet-cutes’ disguising their proudest heist to date: a 12-year-old Nathan smuggling canned goods under a moth-holed hoodie.

Because of this, gas station snacks: twinkies, Lays chips, slurpees, etc. all tend to give him this simultaneous sense of nostalgia and nausea. Like when you’re eating eggs and all of a sudden, your body gags on the next bite.

But on an especially shitty day, expect him to be gobbling a Big Gulp and a half-frozen hot dog on the nearest street corner, with a half-smoked cigarette still sunken between his lips. It’s the way he wallows.

Secretly wants you to tell him how bad that shit is for him so he has an excuse to snottily spat back “who the ‘ell cares?”. He finds pride in not caring about anything. (He cares about everything.)

Getting fast food at the drive-thru? Man waves you off a total of three times claiming he doesn’t want nothing before proceeding to eat half of your McNuggets without asking. He loves BBQ sauce and needs Tabasco on everything like it’s his will to live.

Big fan of spicy, sour, and tart, anything that makes your mouth pucker. Pretzels, salt and vinegar chips, cottage cheese, pickles, pineapple (😉). “What can I say? I admire a fruit that fights back!” — he snorts before taking a raw bite of a lemon, just to squirm you out.

Maybe a bit of the masochist in him.

When he and Nate were able to get proper gigs (12-year-old Nathan: illegally, of course), they were able to progress to the simplest of grocery outlet options. Eggs, instant ramen packets, canned vegetables that were 9 out of 10 times eaten raw out of the can with a fork, and more nothing-but-toast-for-dinner than they’d want to admit).

Sam and Nate spent most of their childhood eating their dad’s scrambled eggs and microwaved peas. When their mom passed, and dad released them to the state, Sam decided he’d only ever eat over-easy again.

Nate still chooses scrambled. He asks for cheese and green onions to split the difference, but always ends up only eating half of it before the memories come too strong and he has to push his plate away.

QUICK eater. MESSY eater. And I mean quick and messy.

Will use as minimal cutlery as possible, and if disposable, even better.

A scooper. Tends to be a chronic careless spiller with how frequently he tries to funnel all the last crumbs into his mouth, how quickly he chugs even a glass of water. (Most shirts of his are stained as a result.)

Tends to wait till the last possible moment to eat or drink anything. Breakfast basically doesn’t exist to him.

Spills more beverage down his chin and shirt than his mouth (but a wet t-shirt certainly isn’t the worst thing to happen. Especially not to Samuel Drake. ;)

Pizza order: Meat Lover’s with extra sausage. Maybe some green bell peppers when he finally compromises with Nate during movie night.

Never, ever orders (well, non-alcoholic) drinks when eating out. And only water when he finally lets himself cave. Otherwise, he’s stealing sips from the nearest patron’s Jarrito bottle (his favorite is Tamarind).

Doesn’t bother cleaning up his fruit peels or peanut shells, even around others. That shit’s going on the floor without a second look.

Surprisingly, a king and natural on the BBQ. Despite having so little in their childhood, Sam still tried to go hard on the holidays for Nathan’s sake. Fourth of July is still Nate’s favorite holiday exclusively because of Sam’s public park-smoked ribs and the long, bumpy motorcycle ride up the highest hill in whatever city they were currently loitering in, just to see the fireworks.

A dive bar master. Nate always orders whatever grease-covered appetizer they got in the back. Sam purposely keeps his stomach empty so there’s more room for whiskey. (Since nobody asked, incredible at pool, and will offer any woman in a twenty foot circumference a lesson. Cue the leaning chest over back, cue stick fantasy.)

A love language that was a total surprise to him is his partner cooking/baking something just for him, especially if it’s from scratch. Gets that rare, soft look in his eyes as he watches them carefully place each steaming plate onto the table. And trust, he’s not looking at the food when it happens.

Loves his partner in an apron. Like… loves his partner in an apron.

Make him food, and as soon as it’s eaten, he’s eating you after. ;)

When he finally settles down post-Madagascar, it’s a fucking struggle to get him to go grocery shopping at all for the first few months.

Self-punishment, maybe.

Nathan buys them himself instead and leaves them on the porch of Sam’s trailer park home when he’s too depressed to answer the door.

Basically has to be forced to eat actual meat and vegetables. For the first few months, he reverts and eats only familiar prison food. The same single pot of chili/beans for a whole week, half portions only for each meal. Uncooked canned carrots. Microwave popcorn when Nathan calls him asking if he’s eaten, and when Sam lies, it sounds more believable with the microwave droning in the background.

However, when he finally starts to pick himself back up, when he gets his first day job since prison, finally lets Nate buy him a used truck to get around, his first solo call from Sully, that’s when he finally starts to eat.

And when he finally feels like himself again, when he finally lets himself want to live again, the first hobby that Sam Drake takes up is cooking.

one thing that came to mind is like maybe one of your girlfriends is going thru a breakup or a hard time and you’re like “dal, we should bake some cookies for her and drop them off at her house” and he’s like “NUH UH NOPE🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️”

and you’re just like whatever and start doing it yourself

and then he pulls up to your house and he bought a sweet card for you to fill out and give to her along w the sweet treats cause WHO DONT LOVE A SWEET TREAT WHEN YOURE CRYING⁉️

anyways he didn’t really chip in other than that. he also stole a cookie which you pretended not to notice

he’ll drive you to her house and you ding dong ditch her house w the goodies and then he SPEEDS away cause he says “i can’t be seen being a wuss to some girl who got broken up with”

Request: can you maybe do poe dameron with a reader who just had to get incredibly painful shots and he goes to the appointment with them and just comforts and takes care of them during and after? im goin thru it rn LOL. totally okay if not tho!! <3 /gen

Warnings: Needles(a personal fear of mine as well), it’s just a fluffy little one-shot nothing major, crying?, use of (y/n) a few times.

A/N: Yesss anon I 100% get what you mean. Now excuse me I gotta go water my grass with my tears because I don’t have a Poe Dameron to comfort me, in my times of pain and need😭 and the scenario of why they had to take shots I just pulled that out my tushy, meaning quarantine shots are not canon. I hope you enjoy.

Quarantine physicals are the worst! Why do I keep putting myself in these positions. It’s an easy mission, they said. You’re only scouting, they said. We’re relying on you, they said. The resistance has been looking for a new base and it’s proving pretty difficult. Every available fighter is constantly on the go, checking out any leads, back to back. I try to stay away from those types of missions though, all because of one thing. The quarantine physicals. After coming back from an exploration of an unknown planet, said pilots are required to be quarantined until they are cleared of their physical. It’s to make sure no undiscovered illnesses or anything of that nature came back with the pilot. And I’m pretty sure you can guess what happens if a unknown illness does come back, the planet is marked off the list of “maybe” planets and put on the “stay clear” list. And hopefully one of the known cures the doctors have work on said illness, but people coming back sick is rare, basically nonexistent. Recently, a well hidden planet actually came up on our scopes and guess who had to check it out? That’s right. Me!

All other pilots were out on their own missions, when I had just landed from a previous one with the rest of black squadron. Lucky me. I mean don’t get me wrong I would give my life for the resistance, but if medical shots are involved, it’s a hard “no” for me. It’s bad enough we have to get them every time we have an regular annual physical so, why would I add more to the list willingly.

Anyway, I’m currently sitting in the waiting area of the doctors office, waiting for my name to be called for my own quarantine physical. Normally, Poe would be in here with me. Yes it is against the rules but Poe and I are a special case, he helps the doctors by keeping me calm enough to take the injections. Wait a minute. Where is Poe?! He should be here by now! I quickly turned on my wrist comm preparing to tell him to get his butt down here but just as I was about to, he comes running through the door out of breath.

“Right on time.”

“Sorry I’m late.” He said as he takes a seat next to me.

“You forgot didn’t you?

“No. No, I didn’t forget. I just-“

“You forgot.”

“Yeah. Yeah I forgot.” He said lowly and we began laughing. It doesn’t take much for Poe to make my worries go away. It’s part of the reason why he’s my best friend. “I’m sorry, sweetheart.”

“It’s ok, you made it, you have nothing to be sorry for.” Just as I said that my name was called, and my anxiety went through the roof. Walking into the medical room, me sitting on the bed and Poe sitting in one of the guest chairs.

“Let’s see, (Y/n) (L/n), born on (P/n), occupation-pilot, what’s the last 4 digits of your chain code?”

“7980”

“I see that you’re here for your vaccine shots?” The nurse asked sitting down my medical folder.

“Yes.”

“Ok just sit back and relax, I’ll be back soon.”

I sat back, but I could not relax. How could I relax, I’m about to get stuck with painful needles. How do people find this easy? I didn’t even notice my leg bouncing until I felt Poe lay his hand on my knee.

“Relax.”

“Why do people keep telling me that?” And for some reason he found that funny.

“Because your stressing yourself out, and because the more tense you are the more it’s going to hurt. So you might wanna take the doctors advice on this one.”

“I don’t understand how people are able to relax during these things. The size of the needle doesn’t matter, they all feel the same. Painful.”

“Because of how quick the process is, the only reason it takes so long for you is because you fight the nurses. I’m pretty sure they know you by name, and the only reason they ask is because of protocol.” He laughs.

“Oh shut up, Poe.” I said while folding my arms as the nurse walks back into the room. Poe took this as his queue to stand and grab ahold of my hand, to comfort me and just in case he had to pin me down I suspect.

“Okay. I seen that you have a physical coming up. Would you like to get the shots for that out of the way now or wait?”

“I’ll wait” I said nervously

“Well in that case you only have two injections today.”

“Only?” I mumbled.

“You ready?”

“I guess.”

“Here is number one” I always feel bad for Poe, with how tight I squeeze his hands through these appointments, I’m pretty sure they become sore after. But he never complains so I don’t know for sure. Then I feel the needle piercing each layer of my skin agonizingly slow, and the pressure of the liquid being push into my arm.

“And number two.” This time I pressed my face into Poe’s torso, which he welcomed. And the same painful sensations went through my arm again. And soon the aching will begin throughout my arm, keeping me from being able to use it.

“All done, let me type up your papers then you are free to go.” The nurse said while walking back out to her computer.

“See? It wasn’t so bad.”

“We go through this every time Dameron. Yes, it was that bad. I just held my breath this time.”

“Did it work?”

“Barely.”

“Well I say that’s a win either way.”

“Alright you’re free to go.”

“Thank you.” Poe helped me down of the medical table and we walked to my room. I knew the pain was on its way, my arm was already starting to ache.

We made it inside my room and I sat down on my bed as Poe started the same routine that always follows after any appointment that includes me getting stuck with metal sticks. It’s the same every time, he starts my shower, while I’m in the shower he goes to the dining hall to get us both a meal, by the time he makes it back I’m already under my blankets, he joins me, we eat, and I end up falling asleep. It’s a very relaxing process and very sweet. I hear the shower start and I immediately stand and grab some clean pajamas and head to the bathroom seeing Poe checking the temperature.

“Remember to the warm water run in your arm to help ease the pain.”

“Yeah I know.”

“Okay, I will be right back and don’t wait til’ you get sleepy to get out the shower. You got lucky last time.”

“I was fine.”

“If you call falling asleep and almost falling in the shower fine. You’re lucky I forgot to ask what kind of juice you wanted. Speaking of which, what’s your choice for today?”

“Surprise me. And I had it under control.”

“You keep telling yourself that. Hurry and get in before the effects start kicking in, I’ll be right back.” I listened and got in the shower, making sure to let the warm water hit my arm. The steam from the shower, being freshly clean, and the side effects of the medicine was all starting to kick in. My arm was now aching and I was get sleepy. I got out the shower put my pajamas on and made my way to my bed. All of a sudden I felt my bed dip which woke me up from a slumber I didn’t know I was in.

“Wake up sweetheart it’s time to eat.”

I grumbled as Poe helped me sit up and once he made sure I was awake enough to eat he sat down my plate on my lap. He then got situated beside me and we started eating. Out of nowhere a sharp pain went through my arm causing me to let out a groan.

“Medicine starting to kick in?” To which I replied with a nod. I handed him my plate and he sat both to the side. He stripped off his tops layer of clothing so he was comfortable and got the both of us under the blankets. I made my place on top of his chest as sleep was calling me, and he was not helping as his hand was gently scratching my scalp.

“Thank you for always being there for me Poe.”

“Always. You mean more to me than all the stars in the galaxy. And whatever you need no matter how big or small, I’ll be there to help as much as I can.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“We’ll in that case there is one thing you can do.”

“And what’s that sweetheart?”

“Find a way to keep those evil people away from me.”

“What evil people sweetheart?”

“The doctors and nurses. They’re always trying to stick me with something, I’m starting to think they’re enjoying it.”

“Baby it’s their jobs and it’s only to keep you and everyone else safe. I mean you gotta admit needles aren’t that bad, the only thing painful about it are the side effects.”

“Excuse me, I have you know that needles are not as painless as you think, I swear I can feel every single layer of skin that the needle goes through.”

“I have to get shots too you know and they’re not bad.”

“To you.”

“You’re just a big baby.”

“Whatever.”

“But you’re my big baby.”

“Go to sleep Poe.”

And we did, enjoying the peace that being in each other’s arms brought, until the next morning when we are woken up by the alarm that lets everyone know, it’s time to get the day started.

Quick stardew lore question, is it mostly just going to be the stardew npcs in the au? (I totally get it with the turbulent times and all) it would be cool to see Sapnap show up though

yesss all of the stardew npcs are in the au! We could add more ccs maybe in the future but for now personally and cause it gets too complicated (we're already like full of lore and hcs about dnf phew) we just kinda wanna keep it dteam i think!

we do have lore for sapnap and its that he's a long distance friend w dream and they send mail to eachother! Dream and sap used to live at pelican town and play gridball together a lot and sap just moved to the city to pursue that and dream stayed in the town (they watch sapnap thru the tv in the back of the saloon when gridball season comes...)

The bed's cold, and the sun hasn't come up yet. Even for up-at-the-crack-of-dawn Jamie, this was early. With a groan, she tosses over, pushing the sheets down enough to move freely. The red lights of her alarm clock stare back at her.

2:00am? Jesus.

Jamie pinches the bridge of her nose, exhaling heavily, and tossing back over. It wasn't a regular occurrence, having Dani up in the middle of the night. Not unless there was a nightmare involved. Given the light shining from the bathroom, Jamie could only infer that her girl would be back soon. Content, Jamie settles back down, shutting her eyes.

Then Jamie hears retching. An ugly kind of sound that travels over the tiles and into the bedroom. Her eyes shoot open, quickly brushing her hair out of her eyes. Jamie waits with bated breath. Watching. Listening. Again, the sound comes, followed by a half choked out sob. Sighing, she pulls back the covers of the bed and gets up, padding quietly to the bathroom door. She knocks.

"Poppins? You alright in there?"

Another retch. A soft cry.

"No..."

"Right, I'm coming in." Jamie's hand meets the handle, pushing the door open slowly, careful not to knock her girlfriend. She spots her quickly, on the ground next to the toilet. The soft amber bathroom light shines off of the thine sheen of sweat across Dani's even paler skin.

"Oh, Poppins," Jamie coos, crouching down to Dani's level. She retches again, curling around the toilet. Quickly, Jamie gathers up her hair, and places her free hand on Dani's back. It was cool to the touch through her sleep shirt, despite the sweat. When Dani pulls away from the bowl of the toilet, shivering, the back of Jamie's hand touches her forehead. Also cold to the touch.

"Well, you don't have a fever. How're you feelin'?"

"Like shit," Dani whispers, voice raw. "But I think... that has passed. The throwing up."

Jamie nods, sitting down fully onto the tiled floor, leaning her back against the adjacent bathtub. Her arms snake around Dani's waist, gently pulling her backwards into her. Dani's head comes to a rest on Jamie's shoulder. A few hairs were slick against her forehead, which Jamie brushed away.

The pair sat like that for a while, Dani against Jamie, and Jamie against the tub. Jamie's warmth seeped into Dani, and slowly the shivers that periodically wracked her body stopped. Though still tense, she melted into Jamie's side.

"I'm sorry for waking you up."

"Don't be, Poppins. I'd rather be up than leave you in this state by yourself," Jamie whispered, pressing a kiss to Dani's hairline.

"Yea, but you have to be up in a few hours," Dani protested, trying to push herself up from Jamie's side. The latter moves with her, brow creasing.

"If you think I'm headin' into work with you like this, you're mad."

Dani frowns, looking at Jamie. Maybe it was the lack of sleep, or the exhaustion finally reaching her brain, but she teared up a little. Call her sentimental, but it was sweet.

"Have any idea what brought it on?"

"Huh?"

"The vomiting, love."

Dani squeezes her eyes shut, nodding.

"Uh, I don't know. Haven't heard of anything going around- maybe it was your cooking?" Dani didn't really mean for it to come out sounding like a dig, but it did. Jamie took it in stride, bringing a hand up to her chest in mock hurt.

"Dani! You wound me!"

"No- that's not what I meant," Dani says, huffing a small laugh and pressing her hand to her face. "God, I'm so tired."

Jamie smiles, reaching forward to pull Dani forward into her arms again.

"Well, considering that I ate the same meal, and I haven't a thing wrong, I don't reckon it was that, Poppins."

Dani nods, humming in agreement. The still-energised part of her brain recalled back to when she was a teenager, rattled with stress. How her body would be wracked with tremors, and force her to the toilet for hours.

"Maybe it was stress?" she offers. There had been a lot going on as of late - with Flora and Miles getting ready to go back to school, the changing of seasons forcing Jamie to spend long hours in the garden. Makes sense.

"Maybe," Jamie muses, pulling away from Dani and leaving her leant against the tub. She stands up, walking briefly to the bedroom to get the glass Dani kept on her nightstand. She dumped the water into the sink, refilling it with fresh tap water.

"You hurting anywhere, love?" Jamie asks over her shoulder, already knowing the answer and reaching for the medicine cabinet. "Feel like you can stomach a couple of pills?"

Dani nodded, taking them gratefully. She works on taking them, while Jamie putters about. A cool cloth touches her forehead, making her flinch.

"Sorry, Poppins. Just figured you'd rather get the sweat off than shower. Do you want new bed clothes?"

A lot of it was a blur; the way that Jamie deftly moved around the space, meeting her needs, asking her what she wanted. If Dani weren't so tired, she'd find it incredibly attractive. By the time she's tucked into bed, with the bin in reach, the clock reads 3:34am. A small part of her still felt guilty.

"I'm sorry again, Jamie-"

"It's alright, Dani. Seriously. The garden isn't gonna die just because I don't show up one day. I can make up the work," Jamie says as she rounds the bed to her side, sliding in. Once settled, she takes Dani's hand - the best she can offer, as it's a bit hard to cuddle with someone who's sitting up. She presses a chaste kiss to the back of it.

"This is your body telling us that we need a short break, yea? Owen and Hannah can hold down the fort without it falling apart."

Dani nods, watching as Jamie settles down.

"Goodnight, Jamie."

"Goodnight, Poppins."

i love the idea of Hotch x loud/energetic/chaotic reader, but specially when the reader is latina because, let's be honest, there's so much passion in our cultures. like, you wanna party? u party hard! even if it's a kids party, it has to be full of color and music and food and people!!! or stuff like how physical touch (at least in my context) is soooo common, getting pat in the back, hugs, kisses, nalgadas, from family and friends, not only romantic partners!! and i love this opposite for him, specially in this context where there are so many traditions full of this magical view of life... like día de muertos! and of course not everyone believes the same things but, at least for me and my family is such a healing day when it comes to our process about the loved ones that passed away, and is the kind of view that has given me healthy ways to cope with these loses... etc. and getting to share that with hotch who tends to live such a grey life sometimes... idk, warms my heart

yesss getting to talk about my favorite thing <3

ok this will be long bcuz i have So Much going on but for context my obxverse, dog days of summer, is canon divergent bcuz i know better than the pates 😌

starting with our main character my favorite special little guy, edgar ramirez

he's deeply tragic (family trauma up to his eyeballs) but he's just a little lover boy!! his family owns a church in the cut, saint lucia's, and he gets wrapped up in the plot bcuz he has huuuge crush on jj, and then ends up in a secret relationship with him <3

in the later seasons, things get very complicated for him romantically (it's a whole thing, rafe is involved) and his faith is tested and he's just overall not having a good time </3

but he survives bcuz his heart is full of love

next we have nova morales!

edgar's complete opposite fgdgf she's the biggest hater girl in the obx!

her plot revolves around her issues with her family – her mother left her and her father about a year before s1 to start a new family on the figure 8 with a kook guy – and how that bleeds into her relationships with everyone around her

she's possessive and loyal but hates change and people trying to worm their way into her found family

she's a kie love interest and their very much enemies to lovers they cannot stand each other!!

next we have mikey caswell

his main plot is that he has no personality or interests of his own and just has no idea who he is <\3 bcuz of that he gets into a situationship with rafe (in his eyes they're dating, in rafes eyes they're just hooking up And he's using him to get close to edgar, it's a whole thing)

prior to s1, he was adopted by a kook family and the pogues feel like he abandoned them, and he honestly kinda did, so he's also trying to get back on their good sides!

also he's a john b love interest

next (again) is mags báez

mags is Also a pogue turned kook, but she moved when she was wayyy younger than mikey, around five years old, bcuz her dad got rich through computer shit

she's edgar's best friend, though they don't see each other much, and novas step sister thru marriage (it was her dad that novas mom left them for – im sure you can imagine how this might strain their relationship)

she's dating kelce in s1 and her story is about her coming to terms with her lesbianism and also trying to shed her people pleaser tendencies

she's a sarah love interest and she and her and kie are involved in a homoerotic girl best friend to enemies love triangle though none of them will call it that

we're almost done i promise!!

next is manny espinoza!

they moved to kildare at the beginning of the summer with their family and are trying to get accustomed to kook life which is hard when everyone around u is insane

he accidentally becomes friendly with rafe, topper and kelce, which is bad for a variety of reasons but mostly bcuz they bully them All The Time and basically haze them, it's a mess

they're a pope love interest and are just a little smitten kitten with him

last but not least! stella feng & lennon yang

they're minor characters but i love them!!

stella is a pogue, lennon is a kook, can i make it anymore obvious?

they have a star crossed lovers plot in the background!

also stella is a drug dealer & lennon is rafes only female friend! they're very normal and sane!

hi em! i was gonna make this anonymous but ta heck w tht LOL okay so this is gonna b a long one js bc i wanna b as clear as possible for u but i jus wanna kno ur opinion on this n im sorry if this sounds redundant (given what ur whole acc is abt) but i saw this tiktok that was basically talking abt how ppl who read rp (real person) fanfics r weird , disgusting , and freaks (that one hurt ngl😭) and ig bc i never interacted w ppl who read them i had no idea this was such a controversial thing yk? so it kinda hurt and i got hella defensive bc these fics have helped me thru some hard times n r my safe space (esp ur acc i love it sm ur fics r quick n easy reads but so so good! and i love tht u write wholesome sfw fics i don’t like / can’t read nsfw rp fics) and r good when i need a quick romance fix bc i have none irl (tmi fr sorry!) but honestly it made me feel horrible abt myself bc im like damn am i sick freak for reading this even tho i read the sfw n wholesome ones?? n they were sayin the y/n , self inserts were even worse! 😭 n idk if this makes me ignorant but for the life of me i couldn’t figure out what made it weird! nsfw ones r different but regular romance or fantasy? esp since i never see this take when ppl mention they used to read one direction fanfics or mindless behavior & august alsina ones (these were popular among the black community for context!) like everyone laughs n reminisces i feel like ppl r a lot more critical n harsh on kpop stans tbh but i even thought abt deleting my tumblr bc i felt wrong for doing so it made me question myself for awhile just being honest anyways i’ll get off my soapbox im so sorry this is so long i jus wanted to give as much context and detail as possible! if this is too much please disregard but idk i just wanted an opinion on this take from a fix writer and i assume u read some too correct me if i’m wrong! thanks so incredibly much in advance and i hope we can b friends one day! 🧸🎀✨💌💕🫶🏽

secondly, i agree with you on all the things you had to say !! i was once in your shoes, and if i’m being completely honest, a part of me is still navigating this as well. like some things i still question for example is if there is rlly nothing wrong with this, why do i feel the need to hide that i read/write? but for the most part, rn i am definitely set on there being absolutely nothing wrong with this! i can definitely see where these other ppl are coming from if they had never thought much of fanfiction or reader inserts etc. bc it’s probably similar to how i felt before being more exposed to fanfiction. but imo these are fantasies i just imagine in my head anyway and are almost like dreams to me yk? and so imo, they’re harmless. in fact, writing and reading ffs help grow my creativity, which is smth i value. cuz not only am i doing this for entertainment, i’m also doing it for the art (this is in terms of writing more so than reading but can still apply to both). however, similar to you, i do believe that imagines can be taken too far, as that is what aligns with my beliefs, such as nsfw fics (which is not anything personal at all to nsfw writers!). that imo can be harmful for the mind and spirit etc. (sorry if this is getting too deep and personal 😭)

ugh this is honestly so nice to talk about and have someone relate to on this cuz literally the things you are saying describe me !!! and dw, i have and never had any love life,, it’s non existent, believe it or not! so dw, you’re not alone 😭 like we can be delulu tgt 😭😭 and ahahaha yesss like i can’t tell you the amount of times i considered deleting this app or stopping writing/reading. it was challenging to process. but after doing so, i have come to the conclusions i mentioned earlier (how i think reading sfw fics are harmless). it’s literally just a form of harmless entertainment lol so i don’t see why ppl have to be so judgmental about it and can’t just mind their own business 😭 so dw, coming from a fellow reader and someone who has faced the same dilemma, you are not at all a freak 😭 and don’t let anyone let you think otherwise 😤☹️

darkicedragon mecha pilot frankenstein grumbling abt a pain or something muzaka asking abt it frankenstein just strips out of his suit to either show something in his lower back or hip bc what is body consciousness when ur kinda thinking like u have a metal shell of a body muzaka just like 😳 before doing what he can to help azure HECK YESSS absolutely needing the suits à la Evangelion uwu brain doesn't wanna do more writing but Franken struggling with depersonalization because the connection to the mech blurs the lines between what is his body and what is the mech, sometimes Franken comes out of the mech, believing his own body is that of the mech so when he has to use his own body, things don't go well that's why he's got bruises and his glasses are fked

darkicedragon does he still have a connection and ds also moves, or does he just stare off into space thinking hes moving ene 'why i cant i zoom in more?' 'uh. bc ya dont have cameras fer eyes?' 'annoying' azure also obligatory like metal spine bc Muzaka having to work on his back cuz Franken can't reach and make sure he eats and drinks, because what are hunger and thirst cues darkicedragon what are pain cues //slams into a table and keeps walking// 'my arm doesnt seem to be functioning that well' 'thats cause ya broke it, dummy!!' azure also there being a time limit where a pilot can stay connected to a mech bc otherwise, the connection mingles the line between what is the pilot's body and what's the mech and if they spend too much time connected, the line blurs, and the pilot's body becomes one with the mech and when the connection stops, the separation is so distressing, it might kill the pilot and ofc Franken pushes that limit, which is why he's not good at not hurting himself Muzaka having to disconnect him mid mission darkicedragon 'whyd you do that??' 'bc youre currently lookin at me thru ds, not your eyes!!!' 'i can see you.' 'what angle' 'from ………………. oh' azure obligatory scene with Muzaka entering DS and manually disconnecting Franken pulling the wires and cables out of his back as Franken tries to stop him, but his body won't move also obligatory scene with Franken in the mech protecting Muzaka a giant metal hand wrapping around Muzaka to keep him safe darkicedragon yaaaaaaaaa
