a painting of Arthur and Charles i have been working on for a while now.
it’s not even close to be finished, so a lot of it is still pretty rough looking.
i’ve still decided to post it, though, because i’m not sure when (or if) i’m gonna continue this.

sometimes watching your mutual on the dash is like watching your child go off to the playground and coming up with very intricate and complex games with their friends that you don’t understand and all you can do is sit on a bench and look up from your book every few minutes to make sure the children aren’t accidentally killing each other

post-beijing yuzuru showing up to FaOI with his jrock program, throwing out 4Ts and 3As like they’re nothing because he’s ‘taking it easy’, talking about being excited to continue to chase the 4A, clearly delighting in interacting with the crowd... he said the reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!

More things to consider when asking urself why a clothing product costs so much:
Was it manufactured in the US or western Europe? Labor costs more from these places, typically
How many seams are used to make the clothing? Is it tailored? Does it have a lining? In school i was taught that every seam costs at least a dollar. The more seams, the more labor and skill required, the higher the cost
Is the material 100% natural fiber? That costs more than polyester, especially animal fibers like wool and silk.
If the clothing has a pattern, is it printed on or woven in? A pattern that is woven into the fabric will cost more to make than printing it onto the fabric after its woven because weaving a pattern takes more skill and more time
Is it a specialty item? Swimwear, athleticwear, and outdoor gear require specific fabrics to perform best, and these often cost more. On top of that, depending on the intended use the fabric will have to go through rigorous testing to make sure it is safe for its purpose. Did you know all childrens pajamas in the US are required to be made from flame resistant material? That both testing and treatment that a manufacturer has to pay for!
There are even more things i havent listed, bc there are thousands of factors that may drive up the cost of a piece of clothing. Knowing even some of these factors can make u appreciate ur clothes more but also think, why are some clothes so cheap? Where are these companies cutting costs to bring me shirts under $10? (Hint: usually labor!)
