#yet another ramble about the Arrowverse

I think it's about time I wrote a proper introduction post
Hey y'all, welcome to my blog! I'm a tumblr veteran but decided to start over on a new account recently. Why? Your guess is as good as mine.
🎵 the basics 🎵
nick ~ 28 ~ he/him ~ bi ~ white author ~ musician ~ gamer ~ nerd multi-fandom/shitposting this blog will be (mostly) SFW, but i still would rather not have minors following me. i just prefer interacting with adults, sorry. it's not personal. my likes, however, will be N/SFW, so be warned

🤩 a bit more about me 🤩
heya! the name's nick. i've been on tumblr since like...2011 or so? i was really big into it in my college years (2012-2017) but after The Great Tumblr Porn Ban of 2017 I've sorta been drifting in an out. When The Great Twitter Debacle of 2022 happened, I decided to migrate back on a new account so I could start fresh.
this account was immediately suspended because of my side-blog. which was a bit too unsafe for work for tumblr's guidelines ig 🙄 not mentioning that they had just recently updated their policy and everything i was posting was PERFECTLY FINE under them but w/e
so i started another one lmao and that's the one that you're looking at right now! my other account has since been restored but at that point I was already situated over here so like. whatever i guess. lol
i'm currently 28, and bisexual. semi-recently out of the closed as bi, actually. for years i identified as gay, but over time i started realizing "actually...i do kinda like girls?" i still identified as "gay" cuz it was easier than saying "so like i'm bi-sexual but mostly homo-romantic but also maybe potentially demi-sexual but only when it comes to real people?" then around 2020 it just kinda clicked with me, and the label of "bisexual" just felt right
anywho you didn't come here for my full life story. here's just a little bit more about me:
i'm a total nerd. i love video games, playing Yugioh, DND (just starting to get into that one), etc. i'm a writer. i've written several fanfics (some of which i'm really proud of, some of which i'm...less), and have a goal of one day publishing a novel (my main genre is YA contemporary with queer themes and characters). i'm a musician. i actually got my bachelor's degree in music (BA in Music). my main instrument is drums/percussion, but i'm learning a bit of guitar and can play a little bit of piano. i'm also a composer/songwriter, though haven't been writing as much these days. if i write anything cool i'll be sure to post it here!

So I generally make these type of posts late at night, but the trailer for season 1 of Constantine showed up on my Instagram and it got me thinking about this again. Warning: the following will contain spoilers for the tv show Constantine.
I only recently finished watching the show, and the ending just about broke me because I actually got quite attached to Manny. And I can't for the life of me understand why they would do that with him. I mean, granted, it's a good plot twist, I doubt anyone saw it coming, but WHY?!
I mean, after "Angels and Ministers of Grace" Manny had become one of my favorite characters and they just turned him evil! Worst of all, they just cancelled the show right after Manny revealed he was the case of the Rising Darkness, thus providing us fans with the question I've been asking myself for weeks: why would Manny seek John out for him to stop the rising darkness? Is this like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde situation where Manny has a split personality?
I think for the sake of what remains of my mental health I'm gonna start pretending that Angels and Ministers of Grace was the last episode of Constantine, BC everything that happened in "Waiting for the Man" was super intense for me because I'm a young girl and a Christian, and what happened in the episode would be one of my worst nightmares come to life.

Hey there
Favourite flash episodes from any season?
hi!!!!! thank you for taking the time to send me an ask, i barely ever get them :D and about the flash, no less! ugh i have to admit, i am so behind on all of the arrowverse shows which makes me sad... i really have to get onto catching up. (i literally watched the crisis on infinite earths episodes, and then stopped watching for..... a while, lol. that crossover was just A LOT okay? xD)
my favourite seasons of the flash are the early seasons, probably the first 3 seasons? idk, i just really love the original team flash dynamic, when barry was more innocent and awkward and the whole show felt a bit lighter? i mean i'm gonna keep watching bc i don't usually give up on a show unless i really hate it, but there's just something about those first seasons that i really love.
okay so you wanted to know what my favourite episodes are! it's been a while since i've seen them, so i may be a bit rusty on the details, but here's my top 5 fave eps...
1. 1x16 "Rogue Time" OMG this one is hands down my fave of all time. mostly bc it gives me all of the cisco feelings!! cisco and dante being kidnapped together, talking thru some of their issues. excellent cisco and caitlin brotp times at dante's party. the most perfect flashvibe scene at the bar, they just both look really pretty and "go ahead barry" CISCO STOP I CANNOT. my fave flash rogues, captain cold and heatwave ;) PEAK barry and cisco hug!! also just great in general bc of the time travel storyline that means barry Knows Stuff, yep, i love this episode so much.
2. 2x13 "Welcome to Earth 2" need i say more??? barry and cisco are such adorable dorks in this episode, geeking out over earth 2, it's just too good. iris on earth 2!!! AMAZING. i mean, i adore iris in any universe, but DUDE. also. cisco and reverb meeting! YES.
3. 1x23 "Fast Enough" SO MUCH DRAMA, SO MANY FEELINGS! like, what an excellent season finale tho?? i mean. barry deciding to go back in time to save his mother! eddie!!!!!! (i'm still sad about that, bring back eddie ugh). AND i can’t resist mentioning the deleted flashvibe scene bc it will forever be seared into my brain.
4. 2x06 "Enter Zoom" i have a soft spot for linda and lowkey ship linda and iris, so this episode where linda impersonates Dr Light is defs one of my faves. plus cisco is kind of a badass and saves Barry from Zoom, so :D
5. 3x01 "Flashpoint" yet another rift on barry travelling back in time to save his mother, and i'm still here for it xD but mostly: WALLY!!!!! KID FLASH!!!! god i love wally so much. BRING BACK WALLY lmao.
wow, okay. so there you go! hope you find these ramblings entertaining hahaaa. and actually, you've helped to remind me why i love the flash so much... and i also just realised that it's basically the fandom i've written the most fanfic for. idk, writing these characters always felt easy and natural to me. so who knows. maybe i'll get all inspired and write some more fic. (if i have time, ughhh.)
thank you again for the ask!! <3 xx

Spoilers Ahead!
Looks like this is just going to be a rambling series of thoughts I had while watching the pilot. Enjoy?
There's not a lot of Jeph Loeb comics I really like, but I really like Superman: For All Seasons. So, you know, kicking off your new series with a reference to what is probably the best moment from that comic, wrapped up in references to the Fleischer cartoons and an Action Comics #1 homage is a pretty sure-fire way to get me on-board.
Tumblr media
That the next bit is an extended reference to the best Superman movie, Superman III, really kind of seals the deal. It's a fitting reference, since both this and that movie are about Clark returning to Smallville as an adult and reconnecting with Lana Lang.
It's refreshing, after so many years of gruff General Sam Lane growing increasingly hateful and distrustful toward Superman, to have a version of that character who accepts all the facets of his son-in-law. We see later on that the friction in the relationship has shifted to Lois, which is another interesting dynamic.
The casting of Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana, eschewing the characters usual ginger look, feels like an intentional attempt to echo the Kristen Kreuk version of the character. I wonder how long it'll be before we have some Smallville guest stars. I can imagine at least one of the principal cast who won't show up.
Lana's husband, Erik Valdez's Kyle Cushing, similarly evokes Smallville's Whitney Fordman and Superman III's Brad. Lana Lang has been a lot of different things in her 71 years of existence, but one constant seems to be her terrible luck in romance.
Speaking of Smallville, it sure is nice to see teenagers played by actual teenagers.
I dig the super-vision effect, like Superman is sweeping through the spectrum. I hope they kind of stick with that instead of going to a more classic x-ray image.
The Kryptonian ship design feels a lot more Snyderverse than Arrowverse. The color scheme evokes the monochromatic Smallville ship (though looking at pictures, I guess Kara's pod wasn't exactly colorful), and has the weird nanotech vibe that the tech in Man of Steel had.
The ominous bass note when Clark takes his glasses off is good, but it's better that the kids clearly aren't buying it until he does a Superman thing. It would be nice to see Hoechlin make Superman and Clark more distinct, but he also hasn't had a lot of chance to do so yet.
The speed-slow effect of Superman flying through the wall toward the villain seems calculated—along with the muted color palette of the Superman scenes, seems designed to appeal to fans of the DCEU. I wonder how well that worked.
I like that the heat vision is red in this. Like, I thought it was really neat that they did the blue effect for Supergirl, but I always hoped when they brought Superman into the show, they'd make his heat vision red to make the two more distinct. It would also subtly indicate that Supergirl's heat vision is hotter.
The Morgan Edge plot is a good hook to keep Lois in the forefront, and to explore some political issues the way Supergirl does, but obviously the politics of rural America are a little different from the politics in National City.
The bit about Ma Kent being the Superwoman of Smallville is nice. If we're to buy Superman as an inspirational character, it helps to have people inspired by him in the story.
I hope the inclusion of an alternate-universe Luthor doesn't mean we've seen the last of Jon Cryer's version of the character. I get the impression that Superman & Lois is going for a Black Lightning/Batwoman vibe, spending the first season more or less on its own to find its footing before it builds ties back to the larger Arrowverse. At least, I hope that's the case; it would be a shame for this series to reach its finale without ever bringing Melissa Benoist in for a guest spot.
The kids won me over by the end, though I hope there ends up being more to the premise than "one has powers, the other doesn't." Although that is a helluva Silver Age Imaginary Story plot to build a modern series on. The only way this could be more Silver Age is if it were Superman & ???? and Bitsie Tulloch was just constantly in silhouette.
Overall, I'm optimistic. The featurette that followed the pilot (which featured some people who...maybe weren't the best idea to put in promo materials right now) mentioned Smallville shortly before calling this a show about Superman when he grows up, and I think that's really the appeal. We've had a show about Superman in his prime, we've had a show about Superman starting out in life, and we've had two shows about Superman before he was Superman, but we've never seen something like this in an adaptation before (though I suppose Superman Returns came close). I can imagine some ways that this could break very badly—a Brightburn-style plot with Jordan, romantic tension between Clark and Lana, sidelining Lois, and of course all the behind-the-scenes issues I mentioned last time—but I think the building blocks are here for a really interesting series that does a good job exploring the Superman mythos in a way we haven't seen before. And I think, like pretty much all the CW shows, it's got the cast to pull it off. I'm very excited to see where this goes from here.

So, @kimmycup tagged me in this game. Let’s do this. Alternately titled:
Let me rant about the difference in receiving feedback on FFN vs AO3
Because I am really getting lost in the math behind “most popular” fic. And it’s most definitely more than just “reaching a different audience” when the feedback for one and the same fic differs between over 1k comments on one site vs not even reaching 100 comments on another site.
Author Name: Takara_Phoenix
Fandoms You Write For: Okay so let‘s only involve the ones I am still actively involved with, not the ones that are like... eight years old and I haven’t thought of them once, yeah? That’d be: Percy Jackson, Shadowhunters, Marvel, Rise of the Guardians/How to Train Your Dragon, Detective Conan/Magic Kaito, Vampire Academy, Jungle Book, DC Comics/the Arrowverse, Descendants
Where You Post: AO3 and FFN, but occasionally also on tumblr - when it’s prompts or drabbles
Most Popular One-Shot: Depends on where you ask. And what you define as popular. Personally, the only value I see are in comments - kudos are literally just the press of one button, they mean nothing, and hits aren’t an indicator of much either considering it counts as a hit even when you opt out after a paragraph.
I’ve only had my AO3 for five years now, meaning that the fics on FFN still had four more years to simmer on there and gather attention, I suppose. Meaning, a fic posted for the first time obviously gets more attention than a four years later mass repost on another site.
On AO3, the oneshit with most comment threads would be How to Court the Prettiest Omega Ever in Five Years or Less, my first PJO ABOverse fic, featuring Nicercy. Which, you know, is only 37 comments on there. Seriously I genuinely blame the existence of the kudo function for the overall lackluster comment-response on AO3 because “press one button vs actually writing words”... but that’s a different conversation to be had. (I mean, seriously, in comparison, this fic has 51 comments on FFN... and it is by far not the one with most comments I have over there).
The clear winner if you look at FFN is Something Went Wrong, my first Minotaur/Percy smut fest with a whooping 116 comments. And yes. Positive. Genuinely did not expect that when after weeks of debating, I decided to post this story. *chuckles* (Again, for comparison, this fic got a total of 8 comments on AO3... eight... the difference there is staggering... Which, I’d like to tag on that, on top of the kudo-nonsense, the fact that AO3 displays total amount of comments to the readers and not comment threads is also misleading and I don’t think it helps, because I think you’re more inclined if you see it’s only 8 comment-threads in total on a fic you like vs it showing you 16 comments as the total comment-count.)
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: THIS IS TOO HARD TO ANSWER. I’d have to consult my chart, but that hasn’t been updated in ages. Because overall amount of comments means little if you don’t also take into account the amount of chapters - 50 comments on a oneshot are a lot, 50 comments on a 5 chapter fic, not so much, and 50 comments on a 50 chapter is frustrating to receive.
Okay, let me go full nerd on this one. Y’all know I love charts. There was a time where I was interested enough in finding this out that I had a chart going of all my multiple chapter fics. With a collumn on how many chapters the story had at that point in time, how many total comments on AO3, how many total comments on FFN and what, by combining those two numbers and dividing them through the chapter-count, was the average amount of comments per chapter.
However, that chart had last been updated on December 31st 2016. There’s been a lot of influx, lot of new stories and other stories gaining/losing popularity, so when I now say Meet the di Angelos with a 2016 average of 57,25 comments/chapter, that is completely exclusing ten fics I wrote since then.
Damn now I really wanna update the charts...
Also if you can’t tell by now how much actual feedback and comments mean to me, I genuinely don’t know how else to convey it... xD”
If you go by total comment-count - which, again, is misleading because you gotta keep the chapter-count in mind - it’d be Chasing Fireflies on FFN with 1749 comments (on 102 chapters. And, again, for comparison, 88 comment-threads on AO3. 88 vs 1749 is insane) and Percy and the Ghost King of Summers High on AO3 with 749 comments (on 50 chapters. On FFN that’s actually on 990 comments. Far smaller difference here compared to other stories).
Though I dunno, if you measure popular by fanart received, Summers High comes in with five, while my Chasingverse is in with 6... and multiple fanfictions written for it.
Favorite Story You Wrote: Favorite to write, or favorite to reread? There’s a difference there. I’m insanely proud of Chasing Fireflies and the plot and world I created there, the character development. I... don’t really reread it it’s over 500k long I don’t have that time.
Currently, I am really loving The Primal Instinct, it is sooo much fun to write, I get to put basically all my favorite headcanons in there, I’ll get to write Aline and Helen more and Jace’s interactions with others, it features both my favorite OT3s at once. (And it is faaar from my most popular one. Just, feel like mentioning this because my numbers-obsession may read as only writing for comments, which I don’t, I mainly write for myself. The comments are just... very, very nice treats to receive. Also, I love numbers and charts and were curious to see if there is a kind of trend there in what does receive most attention sooo...)
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Uuuh every new thing. Every time I step outta my comfort zone. Trying out a new pairing for the first time. Venturing into a new fandom for the first time. Experimenting with a new kink and wondering if this would be too much. Literally every single time, still.
How Do You Choose Your Titles: On a whim. I suck at titles. Mostly I try to force alliterations because I am a sucker for alliterations, but otherwise I do try to go with “as it says on the tin”, or I try a pun/being clever. Aside from my Triton/Percy fics. Every single fic I’ve written for them is named after a song from Disney’s The Little Mermaid franchise and I have yet to run out of songtitles to use for fics and hey, by then they’ll probably have included a new song in the live-action remake so there’s that! :D
Do You Outline: Depends. Oneshots? No. I just write those. Multiple-chapter fics? ...Depends. xD
If I have a clear vision for where it’s going to go, I do tend to divide into chapters and make myself small notes on what goes into said chapters. Mostly, it’s just a rambled “and x happens and then y” at the end though and then I see how I can make it fit into chapters.
Complete: 795 stories on AO3! Damn, I’ve been busy.
In-Progress: As of right now, 4. Because this week features my Ace Awareness 7-parter, though technically we’re right now down to 3 multi-chapter fics because the next one is only due to be released and join the rotation!
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Well, that is two entirely different things now.
Coming Soon:
Shadowhunters, Asmodeus/Jace, “The Royal Consort of Edom” oneshot on the 23rd
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Alec/Jace, “Nesting 101″ oneshot on my birthday this Saturday
Percy Jackson, Nico/Percy, “Something Borrowed, Something Green” oneshot on the 30th
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Jace, “Dancing with the Monsters in the Night” an out-side-of-schedule oneshot for Halloween
And I do think that that is what constitutes “soon”.
Not Yet Started:
HTTYD/RotG, Hiccup/Jack, “The Origin of the Blue Hoodie”, planned for November 27th
Shadowhunters, Magnus/Jace, “Set-Up by the Guard-Cats”, planned for December 4th
Descendants/PJO, Nico/Percy, Ben/Carlos, Uma/Audrey, “Demigod Defenders of Auradon”, planned for December 11th
A-and that is as far as I have planned my schedule ahead. Those three are the only fics on my personal schedule that I haven’t started working on yet. I don’t like to plan ahead too much, because then you just completely lose interest in the story by the time you get around to actually writing it.
Do You Accept Prompts: Prompts, not so much. Requests, yeah. For one, prompts always seem so demanding, while requests are more polite - and also more structured. Prompts are always like “here have one quick trope thrown at your head” and like... I do have a well-enough planned-out schedule with more than enough fics of my own set, I don’t need to try and turn one random prompt into an actual story. But if someone has a specific request, a pairing and an actual plot, that they really wanna see, I do always hear them out, I may not always like the pitch and thus not accept them all, but on the overall I do accept requests.
More inclined to accept birthday requests than random requests, because random requests would be put into the rotation of my schedule and, well come on that shouldn’t be a surprise, they tend to be pushed off then in favor of fic ideas I came up with myself because there’s nearly always more enthusiasm about writing an idea that you came up with yourself than the idea of someone else. Whereas birthday requests have a set date that doesn’t disturb my schedule and I am a big softie who has a weakness for getting gifts myself so I do like to do something nice for someone so they get something special for their birthday.
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Most excited to write? Well, that’d be the Descendant/PJO crossover atm, because that is something very new and shiny and I do love shiny, new things to experiment on. But also The Prince of Pluto, my next multiple-chapter fic that I have already started writing.
Tagging: Whoever wants to do it! <3

There’s more to these shows than romance.
I can’t imagine how bad it must feel for actors of popular shows to go through the trouble of going to conventions and be active on social media, just to be constantly harassed by questions regarding ships. Their character went through some huge, life-altering realizations? Doesn’t matter, the main pair got it on in the same episode, so that’s all that anyone noticed. Their character died, and came back from the dead later that season? That’s cool and all, but did you see how the main pair broke up and got back together? Sus AF. The world is ending? That’s awesome, but what about mah ships?
I’m not dissing ships. If you know anything about me, I’m a huge shipper.
But, particularly within my fandoms (Arrowverse and the Magicians), the fans tend to latch onto romantic interaction at the cost of noticing the things that matter. There’s an argument that the romances do matter (Queliot’s queerbaiting, Avalance’s representation, etc) and that’s not what I’m talking about.
No spoilers, but Arrow S8 will not feature Felicity as a character, probably at all. EBR has left the cast. Yet the bombardment of questions regarding her return, how Oliver will react to not having her around, and other Felicity-related subjects completely drown out any interesting things the fans could be talking about.
Oliver is going to be traveling the multiverse this season. He’s going to experience things we never thought Arrow would be willing to do, but all we can seem to focus on is the fact that Felicity won’t be with him anymore. “How will Oliver feel about being separated from his family” seems to be a common question being tossed around for SDCC.
I can answer that one for you: He fucking hates it, Karen.
Another one is “Can we hope for Emily to return for the finale?”
I can answer that one, too: You can always hope!
These people are so obsessed with Felicity and Olicity that they’re blatantly ignoring the opportunity to learn about the worlds Oliver will visit, what kind of returns we’ll be seeing from long-dead character (FYI, Tommy and Malcolm are confirmed to be returning. How is no one talking about that), possible new superhero cameos and teases, flash forward information that involves William, Zoe, Connor, or even future!Diggle, or even how Oliver might be capable of showing up on other shows before the crossover.
You know...interesting things.
I’m going to miss Emily on the cast. I’m going to miss Felicity. But let her go. If she comes back, be pleasantly surprised with the rest of us.
And this kind of bullshit isn’t restricted to Arrow.
Recently, Grant Gustin used his platform on Instagram to denounce the hate against Iris and her actress. It would appear that the anti-Westallen group and the subtextually racist anti-Iris group have gotten so bad that other actors are stepping up to defend Candice and her role as Iris.
We could be learning about how they’re planning on using Godspeed in season 6. We could be asking the heavy questions about Cisco’s future on the team or how many more iterations of Wells we can get before it gets too repetitive. We could ask about the Dibny romance coming up. Setting up for the crossover. Expectations or desires post-crossover. Anything.
But we’re just going to get comments and questions about Iris, a staple member of the show that doesn’t have to answer to anyone for any reason other than “when did she learn how to use a rifle that well.”
I rambled a little but the original point of my post was: I wonder how the actors feel when they put so much time and effort into the work they do, only for the fans to generally ignore those efforts for the shoved in your face romance or the drama surrounding it. I’m sure it can’t feel good. I’m ashamed to share the fandom with people who latch onto one aspect of a show and rave about it endlessly, when there are so many other good things to look at or be excited about.
Meanwhile, over on the Magicians panel, I’m hoping the crew gets a new asshole torn by the fans over the blatant and textbook queerbaiting that happened in S4. My hopes and dreams are in your hands, SDCC fans.

com/post/182756953421/what-was-spoiled-for-you-and-what-ended-up would you mind explaining please how the metacure would be affected by William leaving? I def agree with how you feel about Arrow now, and I even feel it about Flash too, but once in a while something happens to truly suck you back in! I was wondering where Curtis was in the future, and now we know, now just for Oliver! and Felicity, and Laurel and Thea, lol.
HELLO THERE SO GET SOME SNACKS CUZ I’M RAMBLING
About the metacure. I’m so worried about Cisco. We’ve been discussing it a lot on the killervibe discord, but I’ll give you the cliffnotes, the short summary of my opinion.
I understand the part where Cisco wants a family, and he wants to be safe in order to have a happy life with them. But I don’t understand why this is such an issue now. A family is something he has always wanted, right? A week before the first time the cure idea came up, Cisco was telling Caitlin that he missed his powers (when Cicada took them away), that he was happy to get them back. A week later he wants to get rid of them. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
Nobody mentioned, yet, that what Cisco wants, it doesn’t just means he has to get rid of his powers. If he wants his family to not be worried about him getting home each night, that means Cisco has to leave. Leave Star Labs, leave Team Flash, stop helping the superheros. Cisco hasn’t said that, yet, nor did Caitlin or Barry or anyone. It’s gonna hurt a lot, when they realize it.
There are a lot more things that come up because of this cure, a lot of problematic things. Like Barry wanting to use the cure on Cicada and Caitlin having no issue with that, even though she and Cisco said they were never going to force the cure on anyone. Like Caitlin vs Frost and how the existence of the cure influences them. I’m sure that Icicle and Caitlin’s Dad are going to have a storyline involving the cure, when they come back. There’s also a major killervibe issue, but I’m trying to not bring my ship into this discussion.
Honestly, that’s all secondary, to me. I’m just really worried about Cisco.
(And about all these rumors about Carlos leaving next season, oh gods.)
In my head, Cisco has a PRO/CON list regarding taking the cure. Now, he has more things written in the PRO column.
Oliver let William go, so that the kid can have a normal life. A life away from superheroes and supervillains. If Cisco finds out about this, he’s going to put it on the PRO column, as an example. Because that’s exactly what he’s thinking, that he doesn’t want his family to live surrounded by superheroes and supervillains, so Oliver making the decision to let William go, that’s an example of someone else thinking the same thing Cisco is.
But the thing is [holding back tears], there are a lot of things Cisco can put on his CON column. But I don’t think he has, because he’s so excited and happy about having the cure, I don’t think he let himself actually think about all the rest.
And it’s fucking terrifying, to me. I don’t like the thought of Team Flash without Vibe. I don’t like the thought of Caitlin without Cisco. I don’t like the thought of Barry without Cisco (even though, yeah, they haven’t had some proper bonding time in awhile, but the friendship and love is still there, it has to be).
I don’t like the thought of Cisco without his powers. Because… Because having powers makes Cisco better. They make him stronger (arguably the strongest metahuman out there), but that’s not what I mean. They make him a stronger human.
[legit crying right now ohforfuckssake]
He’s more confident, he’s happy when he gets to save the day. Vibe gets him into Star Labs, into spending time with his friends, creating marvelous tech for the world, naming villains and smiling about it. Vibe gets him into a place where Cisco is happy.
Yeah, it’s also a place where miserable things happen, but… A lot of the happiness Cisco has, had, in his life, came after the particle accelerator, after he got powers, after he became Vibe.
Why is it so easy for him to push all of that away? I don’t understand. I don’t understand what he’s thinking.
I’m trying to be hopeful, here. There’s a lot of negativity in this fandom, and a lot of harsh criticism towards the writers. I don’t want to be a part of that.
So I’m being hopeful. I hope Carlos won’t leave and I hope Cisco won’t take the cure. I hope he remembers how much he loves being Vibe and I hope he realizes how much he needs to be a part of Team Flash.
I mean I’m crying and I’m pretty desperate, but I have hope.
About Arrow, you’re completely right. The show has gotten bad, worse and worse in the past years, but every now and then, they do Something, so unpredictable and incredible and shocking, it reels me right back in. Flash is like that, too, but for me, Flash is my favorite show out of the Arrowverse. Hell, it might just me by favorite show at the moment. I’ll always love it. Bad writing, crappy plot lines, loads of plot holes, I’m still going to love it to pieces.
I still trust the writers. Maybe I’m naive or stupid, but I do. I trust the writers, because of those moments of Something Shocking.
If Carlos leaves, I’m going to be happy for him and I’m going to hope he gets another job that will treat his character better. And I’m going to be devastated for Cisco. … If they don’t kill him off, I’ll have a lot of fanfiction waiting for me, to read and write. I’ll be okay with that.

tag meme: fic addition
I was tagged by @minalaurellance
the rules: write the first sentence of the last ten stories you’ve written and look for patterns. then tag some friends.
(Im guessing this means published stories bc otherwise im screwed, also warning a few of these are chatfics)
1. not about angels - a chat fic ft e2 laurel lance finding herself on e1 and Sara finds out about it uhh its hard to explain
screamer created the group untitledgroup
2. oh, the devil has plans for you - a black siren introspect fic
She wasn’t always like this, the ground didn’t tremble below her feet and buildings didn’t crumble when she opened her mouth. She wasn’t always a monster.
3. flarrow femslash ficlets - a collection of arrowverse drabbles all featuring sapphic ships
"We should get a dog." Felicity rambled, scooping up another bite of chocolate cake.
4. all is fair in love & crime - an e2 laurel/cisco/Caitlin chatfic
badvibrations created the group lovecrimes
5. cause we look so good together - a laurel/iris fake dating au
Laurel’s eyes surveyed the room, trying to find an easy place to hide. She located that the restrooms were in the left hallway, but to get there she would have to cross the path of the very person she was trying to avoid.
6. ain’t nobody got time for monogamous relationships - a simon/Jace/maia fic
“Woah, woah, hold up.” Simon said, raising a hand. “You hooked up with Jace? Like Jace Jace?”
7. brotherly advice - a jacemaia fic
“Alec, can we, uh, talk?”
8. why Jace & Maia aren’t allowed at an animal shelter without adult supervision - another jacemaia fic
Jace and Maia had been cat sitting for Magnus while he and Alec were on a much needed vacation. However, said vacation was officially over and Magnus was very much looking forward to seeing his babies again.
9. dancing in the moonlight - yet another jacemaia fic
“I know what you’re doing, and it’s not gonna work.” Maia said, tossing a glare to the very annoying blonde shadowhunter, who was currently fiddling with the jukebox. “I’ve got a job to do and I’m gonna finish it.”
10. three parts of one whole - another simon/Jace/maia fic
Rebecca wouldn’t consider herself the typical ‘over protective older sibling’ type, but that didn’t make her any less weary of those who dated her little brother. Someone had to look after him.
I realize that I very much write fics in groups, right now im on a laurel lance/arrowverse centered groupage and before that it was shadowhunters, specifically simon/Jace/maia and jacemaia, also that I haven’t posted a fic in a while and I need to work on FINISHING some of my WIPs
I tag @wolfbarnes @lichonmain @bikavinsky @waverly-earp and uhhhhhhhhhhhhh anyone else who wants to do it im BLANKING on people

"Why do you like it so much?"
Lukas pondered on the question. The only sounds for a couple seconds were the lazy maneuvering of the stream and the relaxed breeze rustling the leaves in the trees. What a perfect night, Lukas mused.
"Well. Imagine this. Against the sky, there's a brief flash of light. Here, it's nothing. But there, if you're right there, it's... colours. Everything around you is too..." Lukas cast about in his mind for the word, "...too nebulous to see properly or to identify shapes. But, one thing you can see is that it's filled with colours, so much vibrance bursting forth." The excitement grew in his voice until all there remained was raw passion. Lukas shifted in the grass so he leaned all his weight on his left forearm and could regard his brother in this attempt at an explanation. "It's like a firework," he continued, using his hands to mimic the general shape of an explosion, "except there's no sound of an explosion, no tremors in the ground. There is no ground, there is no atmosphere. Here on Earth, we don't hear it; it's happening light years and light years away– something so catastrophically beautiful."
Brown eyes flicked back to the dark sky. How he longed for that one, impossible day in which he could see a nebula himself. If the movies, the books, all of it were true, how much would he love to be a first-hand witness to the display instead of merely imagining the beauty. He sighed, relaxing into his arm more, and smiled fondly up above. "All this expanse between us and that," he continued, "of nothing. Isn't it incredible? Amazing, that there is that much space in the entire universe."
Lukas looked over in awe, hoping to see it reciprocated, but instead he received a slight frown on Peter's face. His brother let out a huff and a shake of his head.
"Scary," was all he muttered before lifting the bottle of beer to his lips.
If Lukas hadn't flopped back on the grass, his gaze would have penetrated the nonchalant facade thrown up. Perhaps they didn't fully understand one another, but Lukas knew his brother well. If he saw the anxious look in his eyes, perhaps the young astronomer would have recognise the fear and stopped his running mouth rambling off on galaxies and nebulae and all the space between; empty, untouched, clean space, unaltered by anything but gravity. He could have stopped for a second to notice the discomfort, but he had the stars in his eyes. The stars were what he loved and longed for, more than anything. With the fresh breeze coming off the lake, the cool grass itching his bare arms, and the sky so dark yet so brilliant, it was beyond easy for him to slip into a trace. That was his dream, someday... up there, he kept promising himself.
Peter's dream was here, grounded on solid Earth. He was churning out movies every year, displaying his talent for the world, the people right here. And Lukas commended him. He loved watching his older brother develop into someone of meaning. And the same went to the rest of his siblings. But there was a schism in the making. Brothers or not, their common ground was slipping away, and the one thing that had been of the utmost importance for the past twenty years of his life, now had taken a step back.
One step of many. Each step grew wider than the last, until – eventually – he took one more and stepped right over the ocean, or right over the moon, or right over the solar system, Earth's little bubble protecting them from the scary nothing they all knew but thought not of to avoid the anxiety.
But Lukas was too starstruck to notice. A little boy in a little country, on the smallest continent, on a speck of blue and green, with eyes only focused up.
Everything he ever desired was light years longer than his one point seven meter frame.
Drabble for an OC based off The Flash (Arrowverse). Unnecessary Disclaimer: I do not own the television shows or anything related. All I got is this OC of mine. Cheers!

fires off a few ideas bc I love everything you write and am always indecisive so! some best au thing that features, as a requirement, cat grant roasting sasuke. rkorya and arrowverse/legends in some capacity. a lionclan or tigerclan fic that's just like their atmosphere or dynamics as a whole? I just want to think about either of them Existing honestly
surprise this one’s with its original ask because i did the first draft of it... well, first, before i decided to post all these separately. rkorya/legends interaction is something i’ve wanted to write for awhile and there were a couple different approaches i considered, but the idea of a first meeting (disastrous as it might inevitably be) won out. i’m sure one or both of us will get an opportunity to expand on the individual relationships in the future, so...
storm, i always almost find myself at a loss when it comes time to talk about our friendship because... idk we’ve endured a lot together and it’s really important to me. you’re someone i feel i can turn to when shit gets really rough and i have trouble admitting my vulnerabilities and i just wouldn’t be the person i am today, and denny wouldn’t be the site that it is, without you. i know you’ve had to put up with a lot of pain and doubt this past year but i’m so so proud of you for pushing through and being back in school for as long as you have been and. well. hopefully you enjoy this fic bc sara and rkorya’s dynamic is one of the many things we’ve built together that i’m really proud of. merry christmas!!!
“But, guys – we’re skipping right over the best part of a generally sucky situation,” Ray chirps excitedly. “There’s a Star Wars universe. Like – an entire dimension where Star Wars is real.”
It’s just bad luck that it happens the way it does.
Could’ve been a lot worse, Sara reflects later – there could’ve been any number of people on board, Newt, Maive, Gardner, Ratchet.  Instead, it’s just her and Rkorya in the midst of a sparring match when the rifts take the entire thing back home.
They both tense at the sensation – Sara has an immediate, sneaking suspicion of what might’ve happened, and she wonders if Rkorya might even be able to sense it. To put both of their doubts to rest, she asks at once, “Gideon?”
Uncharacteristically, there comes a pause before she answers.  “Well, Captain Lance. It appears we’re home.”
Home. It hits Sara more strangely than she’s ever imagined, especially with Rkorya standing only meters away. Sara looks over to meet her gaze and finds a mirrored whirlwind of emotion there.
“As always, the rifts have a laughable idea of timing,” Rkorya says finally, tersely.
“Don’t panic,” Sara tells her levelly, although the more likely scenario is Rkorya taking it out on whoever’s unlucky enough to get in their way first (this is her dimension, after all, it’s only a matter of time). “– Technically, this is a good thing. We actually have dimension-jumping technology here.”
Rkorya’s eyes widen just slightly, but before she can respond, there’s a voice from somewhere outside in the bridge.
 “Sara?”
Sara’s heart leaps in her chest, and she thinks the sudden surge of disbelief and warmth and familiarity she feels must be what keeps Rkorya from reacting too visibly. Jax.  “Looks like my crew’s found us already,” she murmurs a not-entirely-necessary warning.
“I’ll brace myself,” Rkorya responds dryly, still tense (though Sara can’t really blame her, all of this hitting her at once), eyes on the door.
“In the Cargo Bay,” Sara calls, and it’s only another moment before some of them start to file in.
“What happened?” Jax asks as he appears, oblivious to the way Sara stares at him almost disbelievingly. “We thought you left us, for a minute there –”
He cuts off as he sees Rkorya, stunned.
“Who’s this?” Amaya is quicker to demand, coming up behind him with Ray in tow. Sara thinks she ought to be grateful that it’s just the three of them, for the moment, but she’s still sort of reeling from seeing them all again. Has it really been a whole year?
Ray doesn’t manage to be quite so diplomatic, peering around Jax excitedly. “Holy smokes, is that – is that an alien?”
“Greetings,” Rkorya replies dryly, now that she can finally get a word in – though she seems to be leaving the explanation to Sara.
“Slow down, guys,” she cuts in, composing herself. “This is going to take a little bit of explaining.”
“You think?” Jax sounds vaguely amused.
“Sara – she has a lightsaber.” Ray can’t contain himself, and Amaya furrows her brow.
“What’s a lightsaber?”
Sara thinks she might feel a migraine coming on – it’s difficult to grapple some control, when she’s fighting off so many emotions. She thinks Rkorya must feel it, because she’s been uncharacteristically understated in her reaction to all this. “Im sure Rkorya would be happy to explain that to you,” she tells Amaya, a little wryly.
“The moment I’m allowed enough breathing room to do so,” Rkorya adds.
“Sorry.” Jax nods to her directly, though his gaze keeps flickering over to Sara. “You’re right. But we should probably call the whole team together for this.”
The entire team occupying the same space doesn’t general equate to breathing room, Sara thinks, but she can’t deny that she’s already longing to see them all again. “Right,” she agrees finally.  “We’ve got some serious catching up to do.”
“So you were stuck in a different world,” Jax reiterates in disbelief once they’ve all assembled at the bridge. “For a year.”
“And yet, to us – it felt like mere moments!”  Stein, unsurprisingly, has been engrossed from the start of their explanation.  “Not that time discrepancies would be, theoretically, uncommon between dimensions – especially distant ones. Still… astonishing.”
Sara’s on the edge of a fond smile, in spite of herself, as Rkorya nods to him curtly. “Fortunate for all of us that was the case. I can’t imagine the chaos that would’ve unfolded otherwise.”
“But, guys – we’re skipping right over the best part of a generally sucky situation,” Ray chirps excitedly. “There’s a Star Wars universe. Like – an entire dimension where Star Wars is real.”
“Come on, man, get your priorities straight,” Nate reprimands him, which Sara is pretty sure absolutely no one is convinced by. Sure enough, he turns to Rkorya, eyes shining.  “Have you ever met anyone by the name of Indiana Jones?”
“No,” she tells him flatly, briefly glancing at Sara.  “Although I’ve already been informed of the fictional… similarities you’re apparently familiar with.”
“Multiple times, actually,” Sara adds. She hates to stamp on their excitement, but she’s also vaguely fearing for their future safety. “Seriously, guys, it’s kind of old by now.”
“Can I just hold it?” Nate eyes Rkorya’s lightsaber, ignoring the veiled warning. “Just once? Can I touch your spiky horn things?”
“Nate,” Sara snaps, annoyed now. He pauses, eyeing her sheepishly – and then falters in earnest when he sees the level, intent way Rkorya is regarding him.
“I might allow it,” she begins, tone deceptively cordial in a way Sara recognizes instantly.  “Provided you find the risk agreeable.”
“Risk?”
“You may not get your hand back afterwards.”
Mick, who up until now hasn’t contributed much to the conversation from where he’s leaning up against a wall, grins slightly.
There are situations where Sara would take a threat to one of her crew with some concern, but she registers this as casual Sith banter, by now. Nate obviously doesn’t have that background knowledge – he takes a slight step back, but Sara figures it’s good for him to learn some boundaries from the get-go.
“I think… that brings to light a more objective concern about all of this,” Stein takes the opportunity to intervene.
“Don’t know what you’re talking about,” Mick growls. “She’s speaking my language.”
“She is a Sith.” Stein ignores him, appealing to Sara directly. “Correct me if my limited knowledge of the canon is incorrect - or if it doesn’t apply to its real life equivalent - but doesn’t that mean she serves a fascist empire? That she abides by their code?”
Sara feels as much as watches the energy in the room tighten as both Rkorya and Amaya go tense. “What do you mean fascist empire –?” Amaya starts. Even Nate and Ray are starting to look uncomfortable.
“Well, actually the code of the Sith and the ideals of the Empire aren’t – mutually inclusive, necessarily –”  Ray begins to ramble, but Rkorya cuts him off heatedly.
“I can speak for myself. Do not presume to know better than someone who’s lived this, no matter how many movies you’ve watched.” She fixes him with a fierce glare for a moment longer, and then turns to address Stein.  “And I’ll remind you that I did not come to this dimension of my own accord, let alone to defend my ideals to a stranger.”
“Your ideals inherently need defending!” Amaya flares up in Stein’s defense. “Some of us have fought wars to keep people like you our of power! Or ancestors who have been persecuted and killed simply for being who they are!”
Tension bleeds through the whole room now.  Stein, Amaya, and Rkorya face off, bristling, while Jax has moved warily to Stein’s other side.  Ray and Nate seem to be trying to hold off escalating the situation, glancing nervously at Sara, but even Mick’s fingers are twitching towards his gun. Sara knows he might not have as many moral hangups here as the rest of them, but he’ll protect his teammates on principle, even if he pretends otherwise.
It’s well past time to step in. Sara - partly out of duty and partly out of a chronic disregard for self-preservation - steps between them.
“Everyone cool off.” The brunt of the order is directed towards the crew she actually leads. “We’re not wrecking the Waverider unless you want to sit around and fix it up afterwards.”
“Captain –” Stein begins crossly, but Sara holds up a hand.
“I understand,” she tells him more softly, and she does.  For all that Rkorya has become a friend - a close one - Sara has never pretended to agree with what her Empire stands for. And she knows that Stein with all his ties to his Jewish heritage, and Amaya, a veteran of World War II, have more reason to speak out than anyone. She doesn’t want to stifle them, but she also doesn’t want them to misinterpret the situation.  “I also spent years training with the League of Assassins.”
“She has a point,” Mick concedes prematurely. “She’s killed a hell of a lot of people.”
Sara shoots him a look, and he shrugs. “Not judging. I have too.”
“That’s not what I was getting at, but thanks.” She rolls her eyes and continues. “I spent years training with the League, and yeah, a lot of what I learned there was less than savory. But I also learned that when the people at the head of an organization are shit, sometimes you have to count on the people underneath them to make a difference. Rkorya’s smart. She’s competent. She cares. She spent her time in that other world making it more organized and more safe for everyone, and she managed to do that without overthrowing democracy as we know it.”
Silence greets her obvious vote of good faith, but her team is at least looking more wary now and less… stunned and mutinous.  She continues,  “Rkorya’s world needs her.  Without her, the Empire’s not going to just disappear – but believe it or not, a lot more lives will be at stake.” Here she finally turns to meet Rkorya’s gaze, and a heartbeat of grim understanding passes between them. Neither of them will ever forget what the viewer showed them on Rime (speaking of, she probably owes Rip a serious talk – but that’s an issue for another time).
At any rate, her intervention seems to be enough to convince Rkorya to lay down her metaphorical arms for the time being. When she steps up to Sara’s side, the aggression has seeped out of her stance, and the chill in the air has lightened.
“I have no desire to threaten you or your world. I merely wish to return to mine” she tells them stiffly. She tilts her head and regards Amaya more carefully. “What you spoke of – persecution, discrimination based on race, or species, or religion – if nothing else we can agree that it is both ineffective and vile. That I will fight against even within the bounds of my own Empire.”
“I’m sure that makes her feel a whole lot better,” Mick quips sarcastically, but Amaya is regarding Rkorya with a kind of somber weightedness now. Finally, she gives a curt nod – and then glances at Stein.
“Well – not all of us may be… happy about it,”  he murmurs, half-relenting. “But if the extent of our involvement is returning her to where she belongs –”
“That might be easier said than done.” Jax both looks and sounds awkward about it. “I mean, the tech we need to cross dimensions is in Central City, and we still kinda have our hands full…”
“With what?” Rkorya turns her attention on him, frowning.
Where to even begin, Sara realizes – here she is, reunited not only with her friends (her family) but with the opportunity for revenge that she’s never quite managed to pry herself away from longing. She thinks of Damien Darhk, imagines choking the smirk off his face and the life from his lungs slowly and painfully – and has to clamp down on a fresh surge of rage before it draws attention to her.
“Right. Before I left, we were dealing with… a problem.”  She chews the inside of her cheek, remembering the speedster.  “Several problems, actually.”
She feels the carefulness with which Rkorya watches her. Maybe she’s remembering the other part of what they saw in the Rime viewer, now.  “Then, if your team would allow my assistance… I’d be all too glad to lend it.”  She glances over to the rest of them.  “It would solve all our problems that much more quickly.”
Sara stays silent, because while she appreciates Rkorya’s loyalty - and while she is the captain - she won’t force her team into an alliance they’re not comfortable with.
“Weeell, I’m all for it,” Ray speaks first, if more slowly than is typical for him. “I mean, let’s face it. With all of time and thus… reality potentially at stake, we could use all the extra firepower we can get.”
“She seems badass.” Nate sounds more comfortable voicing his support in Ray’s wake. “I’m just hoping I come out of this with all my limbs intact.”
Mick grunts noncommittally, only deciding to expound when Sara shoots him a questioning glance. “Whatever. If we’re doing this, we’re doing it. I don’t care who we drag along as long as I get to burn something.”
While not exactly reassuring, it’s about what Sara expected from him. She nods, and turns to the remaining three – whose opinions she’s also the most uncertain of.
Jax, for his part, looks slowly from her to Rkorya, and then back.  He’s practically her second in command, and more than that, his voice is one she’s come to depend on for its compassion and objectivity (sometimes she lacks both). “If Sara trusts her,” he says finally, simply. “Then so do I.”
She exhales quietly. She’d forgotten up until this moment, she realizes, how much his opinion means to her.
“Jefferson… makes a valid point,” Stein admits tersely. “That you are willing to vouch for her – I suppose I should have taken that into consideration from the beginning, Captain Lance.”
He frowns at Rkorya directly in the next moment, none the less. “But that does not mean I agree with – with what you serve. Or that I ever will.”
Rkorya inclines her head, eyes narrowed slightly.  “Fortunately such matters are irrelevant to a temporary alliance,” she replies, just as terse.
Amaya seems resigned to being outvoted – she doesn’t voice her assent, but she unfolds her arms, frowning.  “I’ll be keeping an eye on you,” she tells Rkorya shortly – and leaving it there, stalks off to some other part of the ship, head held high.
Sara thinks she should make a point of going after her sooner rather than later. Amaya’s still one of their newer members, after all, and the last thing she wants is to make her feel more alienated than she already might. For the moment, though, the team takes that as their cue to disperse and tend to their usual pre-takeoff preparations. She leans back against the console, waiting for them to leave her alone with Rkorya for a moment – so she’s a little surprised when Jax pauses on his way out and pulls her into a careful hug.
She tenses briefly, and then leans into him, wrapping her arms loosely around his shoulders. “It’s only been like, five minutes for you, nerd.”
“Yeah,” he murmurs. “But for you it’s been a lot longer.”
After a year away, Sara hadn’t realized she needed this. Apparently, though, Jax has.
She finally pulls away, and he lets her, giving Rkorya a short nod before heading off himself. It’s Ray who stops next, grinning lopsidedly at Sara, but she can tell what he’s really there for. It’s an effort not to smirk a little as Rkorya begins to look dubious.
“Listen – I just wanted to say –” Ray fumbles a little, not uncharacteristically. “Well, I know they’re just movies to you, but to me – those stories were what gave me hope, as a kid. Hell, they’re what inspired a lot of my work.”
“Your work?” Rkorya looks him over skeptically.
“He’s our inventor,” Sara informs her, allowing herself a private (and a damn good one).
“I dunno, just… a world where people can cross the stars? With all this incredible technology at their fingertips, where you get to make these… big, defining choices about who and what you want to be…” Ray looks embarrassed for a moment as they watch him ramble on. “What I’m trying to say is, well – it means a lot. Getting to meet you.”
Sara knows Rkorya well enough to read the minute surprise in her expression, even as it flickers and is gone within the next second.  “Well, if you have been as inspired as you claim…  perhaps I’ll have a look at some of these inventions myself. Should we get the opportunity.”
“Really?” Ray’s whole face lights up.  “Because I would love your input on my suit’s weapons systems – oh, and I’ve been tinkering with this… lightsaber-esque design? I say ‘esque’ because I can’t exactly mimic –”
“Ray,”  Sara cuts in patiently, and he clears his throat.
“Right. Right! Later.” He actually fingerguns Rkorya as he starts to back away, and she has to repress another sigh. “I will see you both… later.”
The bridge finally empties out, and Sara and Rkorya are left to share a moment of silence alone.
“You certainly didn’t undersell them,” Rkorya finally breaks it, and Sara’s lips twitch.
“They’re… a handful.” She doesn’t even try to hide the statement’s affectionate edge.  “And for a team of superheroes, they don’t really tend to warm up to people quickly, so an initial disaster was probably inevitable. But! With that out of the way…”
“We’ll be fast friends, I’m sure,” Rkorya finishes for her dryly, though she also sounds a little amused.
“Mostly, anyway.” There’s no promising that Stein and Amaya will come around, if Sara knows them, but you can’t win every battle. She pauses, bracing herself for more earnest sincerity. “…But, thank you. For saying you’ll help. I promise, we’ll get you home as soon as we can.”
“They’re your people,” Rkorya replies simply, turning to meet her gaze. “That alone is enough to make them worth prioritizing.”
It means more than Sara knows how to say – but the nice thing, at this point, is that she doesn’t really have to say it. If they’d been in Rkorya’s world, with Rkorya’s crew, she likes to think she’d feel the same way.
“Well,” she says finally, bracing herself for a ride (in more ways than one), “Let’s get this show on the road.”
