I think I finished it! My Dakimakura Submas illustrations! This was great fun to make, and a huge challenge too because of the canvas size. Im thinking about getting it printed as little pillow keychains for my own self X) if anyone is interested in that as well i'm amenable to printing some for others! Doing this next year cause im making acrylic pins next year for myself as well.

When Ohrians meet their soulmate, it's supposed to be obvious. It's supposed to come with overwhelming physical, mental, and emotional sensations to ensure that they're left without a doubt that they're one another's ideal life partner... not to mention the appearance of their soulmarks. And it's supposed to be a joyous occasion, of course. After all, a soulmate is someone who will understand them on a deeper level than anyone else. Someone who will be safe and give them the benefit of the doubt. Someone who will inspire them to be their best self every day when they're together.
Dingo got his soulmarks at five years old. Because of extenuating circumstances, he has no idea who gave them to him. For Yonny, the story is much the same.
They met in school and end up such close friends, they swear they'd choose each other every time. Because they do understand each other better than anyone else they've ever known. And they do love each other as true best friends would.
But there's always the lingering fear that their soulmates would separate them. After all, neither felt the telltale sensations when they met. They can't be each other's soulmates.
Or can they?

Hi!
Firstly, omg, Happy Birthday Riso! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧🎂
Secondly, I can make stuff for the Royal AU too >^< Here I go.
Title: Back to Back on the Battlefield Word count: 2,321
The battle should have been easy.
In fairness, there should not have even been a battle in the first place. Their joined kingdoms had bonded together both their lands and their people. Carefully cultivated alliances surrounded their kingdoms, and the rulers that did not ally with them respected the peace of the common people enough to leave them alone. Oemmet had opinions about those he did not ally with, but he kept them behind their closed doors, or strictly with the rulers he refused to work with. There was a long standing peace between the other nations as well, and even when there were disputes, they stayed clear of Oemmet's lands.
Oemmet was a wonderful king, even during the years where he had been withdrawn. He spoke in a matter-of-fact manner to people he disagreed with, and dismissed people who approached him in bad faith; however, even then, he was always fair, and never dismissed anyone without cause. His kingdom flourished, was self-sufficient, but provided aid with poor harvests and illnesses when approached. At the end of the day, there was very little reason for anyone to want to cause him or his kingdom harm.
Even with his marriage to Yingo, there had been few vocal detractors; most of the people with concerns had a heavily vested interest in being a suitor to Oemmet themselves, or thought there was ill-will in Yingo's intentions. But no one else understood the pull they felt with each other, the fascination with each other's presence that was there from their very first meeting. Certainly, no one else could compare to the intensity of their feelings, and if Yingo was honest with himself, it was nearly impossible to imagine he could ever feel this way with anyone else.
When word of an unknown army marching upon them reached him, Oemmet was quick to action, and Yingo offered his own knowledge of strategy to help prepare. His strength in theoretical battle and Oemmet's experience in actual battle would carry them through, and hopefully reduce the number of casualties. He'd never fought in an actual battle before, simply sparred with his mentor when he was growing up, and then again with Oemmet for fun before their marriage. Of course, so many things were great fun to do with Oemmet, and they'd spent much of their time together sharing their interests and discussing any number of topics.
Foolishly, he'd thought that with all of his studies that he would be ready for true battle. Perhaps, before he'd become enamored with Oemmet, he would have proudly and exuberantly prepared for this. Being victorious against a strong enemy was a great way to make a name for yourself, and would have earned him many accolades. But earning such things didn't matter now; he'd found his soul mate and ruled over joined kingdoms together. Although he naturally wanted to maintain a good reputation as Oemmet's husband, and as a good leader in his own right, he no longer had a need to create some sort of overly dramatic image.
Awash in nerves as they brought their horses from the stable, he tried to keep his expression calm. A foreboding feeling had settled over him the night before, and when he watched Oemmet prepare, part of him wanted to tell his love to stay back at the castle. He would drive away the army approaching on his own, and ride triumphantly back to his husband's arms. When he returned, Oemmet would praise him and be so proud, and it would be the greatest feeling in the world. And, if the ominous feeling was a certainty of his fate, then it would allow Oemmet to stay safe.
But, his love was a gallant man who refused to back down from protecting his people. The request to remain where he was safe, away from the battle, had clung to his throat, unable to be spoken. Yingo knew that he would not be swayed, and so instead they spent the evening affirming their love, Oemmet whispering to him that all would be well. He believed it, of course; even over the fear gripping his heart, he and Oemmet would do everything in their power to keep each other safe. He would ensure Oemmet returned from the battle, to continue ruling his kingdom, their kingdom, for the rest of his natural life.
It was that thought that rode with him into the fray. To his side, horse draped in light, gilded barding, the love of his life focused on the field ahead of them. Oemmet had never been one for overly ornate armor, even for display, but he looked regal and imposing all the same. His own armor was an exact match, but in black and silver instead of white and gold. The perfectly crafted fit was a visual proof of their bond, the level at which they were entwined, and they moved together in precision. When he'd first seen Oemmet draped in the fine armor, his breath had caught. The image before him felt like a hero or even a deity from the lost epics; a silly, romantic part of his mind tucked the sight away for later.
All of their attention needed to be on the battlefield; despite this, he refused to allow Oemmet to be out of his sight. Whenever they separated the slightest bit, he still knew exactly how many paces away his husband was at all times. When Oemmet dismounted, he did the same, moving to protect his back. A nearby pair of soldiers who'd lost their own steeds quickly used the royal horses as their own, pressing the advantage they'd previously lost.
Far more skilled on foot, he lamented not training more in riding styles suited for war. Sensing his focus becoming distracted, Oemmet bumped lightly against his shoulder, asking if he'd been worn down yet. Wanting to toss a smirk over his shoulder at his love, he refrained from showering him with the smug expression until they were out of harm's way. But he made sure it was in his voice as he assured him that he could still run circles around him. A scoff was his reward and if it was possible, he would have turned to kiss Oemmet.
He'd never considered himself naïve before, but when he saw the soldiers who'd previously been advancing on him begin to fall back, he was certain they had turned the tide. Although the enemies' swords were still drawn, he felt the confidence in their victory swell in his heart. The battle had already been too long, but they were at last seeing the end! They would allow the retreat, show they were merciful, and perhaps that would cause their opponents to understand the entire undertaking was foolish from the start. His confident quip was immediately interrupted by Oemmet yelling his name.
His name?
Only now noticing that Oemmet's back was no longer pressed against his own, he turned in what felt like slow motion. All sounds disappeared as his eyes widened yet only saw Oemmet, arm outstretched and fear in his beautiful silver eyes. Dumbfounded and suddenly disorientated, he lifted the hand not holding his sword up to match the gesture of his love, reaching for him without even understanding why. In that short moment, Oemmet's body collided with his, impact knocking him back and strong arms wrapped around his shoulders in what seemed to be an unnecessarily tight grip. A sharp gasp into his ear, and the slightest slump in the body against him, and tears sprung to his eyes before he even truly registered what had happened.
Several arrows stuck out of Emmet's back, like freshly barren wings.
Using an arm around Oemmet to guide him down, he dropped to his own knees, sword still on one hand. "I can't lose you again," was huffed into his ear, the breath surrounding the words wet and ragged. The world shifted into hues of red, and his attention snapped on a voice cursing his name on his periphery. His hands shook with rage, and he released Oemmet, the man letting out a rattling breath as his own grip was loosened by Yingo standing up. "No-- wait--!"
He would return to his love in the briefest of moments, but for now he pointed his sword at the man who stood up above them, flanked with archers having taken advantage of the sloping terrain for a bombardment. If anyone's name was to be cursed, it was his. However, there was no knowledge of his name. There was only a passing recognition of the man, an unimpressive noble from afar who'd wanted a chance at drawing Oemmet's attention. But now, who he was beyond the man who'd shot Oemmet was no longer important. The regret of his decision would take the form of Yingo, eyes burning with barely restrained fury.
"You will not leave this battlefield alive." His voice was firm, clear of the vibration that shook his entire core. The man flinched at the ice in his stare, and began screaming to the archers to fire once more. But Yingo did not wait to provide them another such opportunity, moving upwards towards the man who dared fire upon his most precious person. Striking the man down came with no mercy or hesitance, just a pulsing red fog that did not recede until the man was face down on the ground and no longer moving.
Shaking his blade free of the abominable man's blood, everything in his being cried out, demanding he return to Oemmet. As he slid back down the soil incline, he heard the man laugh out one last vile sound, calling for the archer's fire again before slumping down again. Refusing to let any more arrows pierce his love, he sprinted to cover him, receiving the bladed rain into his own back instead. Eyes barely open, he tried to give Oemmet a reassuring smile, but the corners of his mouth faltered when there was no longer any light in his love's eyes.
With his last breath, he screamed to the heavens for tearing Oemmet from him.
---
He startled upright, gripping fabric he belatedly recognized as blankets, frantically taking in his surroundings. At first, all he saw was darkness, his eyes adjusting far too slowly as his mind raced to place where he was. It was no battlefield; there were no sounds of war. Instead, it was a bedroom, dark and quiet, with the only sounds being his heart pounding in his ears and his own ragged breaths. In pajamas instead of his elaborate uniform, he was no longer covered in mud and cuts, but sweating all the same. Swallowing hard, his throat felt parched but no longer strained from yelling over the clash of metal and rumble of horse hooves.
He only noticed there was someone else in the bed next to him when a familiar voice groaned in protest, shuffling his whole body slightly towards him while simultaneously pulling the blankets tighter. Such a simple action but it still caught a desperate plea in his chest, desperate to see the one who'd only moments ago been torn from him. At first, trying to pull him closer only resulted in a displeased grumble, fighting the movement before finally acquiescing with an irritated sound.
“mmmnIngo?” Even with the squinting eyes and furrowed brows, the face didn’t match with the one he desperately wanted to see. The face was young, far too young, but the longer he stared in confusion, the more recognition settled in. The laugh lines and other wrinkles faded from his expectations, and soon he was left wondering who else he could have expected to find in his bed next to him. It would be, of course, no one other than his twin, the man he was endlessly devoted to. The idea that it could be anyone else was preposterous, and yet he couldn't shake the odd feeling from his mind.
“Emmet?” Breath shaky, he slid one hand up from where he’d gripped his twin, to hesitantly brush his fingertips over his face. He rubbed at a phantom blood spatter on Emmet's cheek which disappeared when he blinked instead of the swipe of his finger. The urge to hug his twin to him vibrated through his entire being, and Emmet's confusion just made the urge stronger. "Emmet, you're okay-!"
His precious younger brother's bewildered utterance was hard to hear, still half asleep, but he turned over to lie on his back. Reaching up past Ingo's hand on his cheek, he licked his lips and slid his fingertips past Ingo's face to caress the back of his neck. "C'mere," Emmet's voice was more a sigh, and he stroked through the hair at the nape of Ingo's neck. Emmet's other arm came out from under the blanket, open invitation for Ingo evident.
Near tears for reasons he couldn't explain, he brought himself down to Emmet's waiting arms. Wrapping himself around his younger brother, he shut his eyes and pressed his cheek to Emmet's chest, his twin's chin resting on the top of his head. Emmet's breath started to even out again, having not fully pulled himself from sleep in the first place. It was overwhelmingly peaceful, trying to coax him back into calm once more. His heart warmed at how easily his twin, even mostly asleep, could soothe him. The dream still troubled him, twinged longing and despair up and down his spine, but in his twin's embrace, he could convince himself it was just a very realistic nightmare. Surely, the more grisly details would leave him as easily as the face from his dreams faded away upon looking at Emmet.
"I love you Emmet," he whispered against his little brother's chest.
Emmet's arms tightened briefly around him, with a soft "I love you too." Except, he thought, in the dark of their room, that maybe Emmet said "Yingo" at the end.

hey I've been listening to the yard for about a year and a half and I want to get more into it ifywim do I just start watching old vods to catch up or is there any content u can recommend as a baseline must-watch
this is by no means a comprehensive list because i've only really been watching the yard since dec 2022 and my 2021 stint in lud viewing was brief and casual (didn't know what i had) but it is a fucking long list so i'll keep it under the cut. included stuff that maybe i wouldn't classify as a must watch but i wanted to include it so you can pick and choose what interests you
PODCASTS - I know for a fact there are other podcast appearances out there that I don't know of but here are a few:
the yard x wine about it - it's just the four of them and qt which means good times! this is an essential imo
there are a few eps of fear& that they appear on! specifically rec the ep with nick and aiden and the ep with ludwig and aiden. there are also a few eps with ludwig and slime (not at the same time) if you're interested in those
i've watched aiden on three different interview podcasts all are worth a watch to me: karat interview, across the bar, and good griefed (audio a little scuffed on this one but it's cute)
fucking loved nick's ep of across the bar because his outlook on creativity is super relatable to me. he also did something with safety third that i've been meaning to watch but haven't yet!
VIDEOS AND STREAMS - there's a lot here but i'll try to describe what's what
mogul money ft the yard - this is the full vod, there's also a cut down video. extremely fun watch
nick was also on mogul money live (first game specifically) and he and aiden appear in the bts video a little bit
qt posted vlogs from italy! they're all fun watches and there's some good moments. one, two, three, four
qt and aiden halloween gingerbread house video. ludwig and aiden kiss in this one. i think the full vod is in god's hands unfortunately
qt and aiden make shit in an ezbake oven and make the guys eat it. fun little video. idk if the vod is out there somewhere or not
there's a cut down version of this too but the full stream of qt having all the guys do a gingerbread house competition is very peak
lud did a shit load of taste test videos with the guys for a slim jim sponsor. this might not be all of them but here are the ones i cold find off rip (fruit, cheese, chocolate, water, steak)
ludwig has done a shitload of ylyl streams with slime that you can find and honestly i have a horrible mediashare allergy so i haven't watched a lot of them but i have watched the one they did with aiden and the one with everyone but idk where the full vod is for the latter
from ludwig's fortnite mondays, there was a week where slime and nick played with jerma and sapnap. idk if any of the others posted the vod but here's sapnap's
the subathon has a shitload of stuff that i can't even begin to link but if you want the experience of the dcom series without subbing to tier 2 they watched the truman show starting about an hour thirty into this vod, tho it takes a hot minute to get everything lined up with the time stamps
halloween po unboxing where them + qt dress up as characters from scooby doo. nick looks frankly obscene as velma this is a great vod
how many flashlights does it take to cook an egg is exactly what it sounds like. it's lud slime and nick ft a little bit of yingo
they play the family feud game together in these two vods: just them and against miz/otk (can't stand miz but it was still good)
RECENT STUFF - aka stuff you probably know about or have seen because you've been around a year and a half but i figured i'd include them anyway since they happened off the pod
two months ago they all played fortnite on lud's stream and it was awesome
both the show matches of the ludwig tarik invitationals are worth watching if you're into valo! the first one is team mogul v otv and they're split up in the second. if the timestamps are broken it's 2h30 in both vods
the rivals 2 tournament is fun! i don't understand shit about fighting games but i love to see the boys play
cdawgva ski vod with lud and aiden from the japan trip! there's also a cut down version of youtube but i found it a fun watch
recency bias alert: they all played in creator dodgeball
the qt and aiden winter cocktail tierlist stream was so good like genuinely a stream of all time to me. ludwig hangs around for parts of it
the yard doing the dougdoug fast food challenge is a MUST WATCH! they celebrate and they suffer what could be more beautiful
otv's fear pong video with them is so fucking good. SO GOOD!
and finally i guess i should mention beerio because it just happened LOL

The next chapter of my Yingo soulmate AU is here! In this chapter, we've got Yonny being a sneaky little guy, a stint in detention with Dingo, and the boys finally get the chance to hang out a bit. Seems like the start of a friendship to me!
