Hero’s In Crisis and Young Justice? What Does This Mean?

Hero’s In Crisis is a very controversial story arc in the comics because of how it handles superhero trauma and most importantly Wally West

In the season finale of Young Justice Phantom Dinah(Black Canary) says that they need to build a place where superhero’s can get away from the life and talk things out. A sanctuary if you must.

In the comics this Sanctuary is used to have sit down meetings and record what the certain superhero’s say.

One of the main selling points that this comic had was that it was going to deal with Wally West and what being dead and coming back, only to no longer have his wife or kids, really did to him.

A lot of people did not like the handling of Wally during this arc. This was because the writers made him a killer. The reason was because he wanted his life back, his wife, his kids, and his friends. This was also right after he got back from the dead in the first place. So people were pretty mad to say the least.

They also tried to tackle Roy’s addiction during this story line

And then they decided to have Wally West be the person who killed Roy and everyone else in the Sanctuary. Not only that, but then have Wally blame fake his death and blame it on Harlequin and Booster Gold

You can see why people were mad about it…

Later on it was retcon that Wally was under the control of the Reverse Flash and it wasn’t him who did it, but yea they still try to make it out like Wally would murder his best friend because he wanted his family back

So how much of this story will the Young Justice writers take and use?

Well I believe it is very dumb to pull from a Wally West centered story, and not use Wally. I think they will have Wally come back at some point before they do this arc next season and use some of the same stuff.

This could be using the story about how Wally is now back from the dead and dealing with the fact that people like Artemis and Dick have changed so much and he’s still the same.

I could see a scene like this happening.

Now the whole Wally being a murder and poor handling of mental health issues, I don’t this Young Justice will do. We saw this season how amazing YJ can handle mental health, so J know we’re in good hands. I don’t think they will make Wally the murder, but I do think one of his rouges will be the killer and blame it on Wally.

Now as for the death of Roy, sadly I do think it will happen because some how this season without anyone being permanently dead. I don’t know if they will kill off the real Roy or Will(High chances is that it’s Will), but we will see.

Sorry for a long rambly post, but I’m going to ride the Wally is alive theory till the day I die. If they do Hero’s in Crisis without Wally it would be very dumb because it literally centers around his trauma.

I guess we’ll see next season 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m so ready for Batman to find out Jason’s alive in the next season of Young Justice so Flash can run into the speed force and get Wally cus he’s not gonna be the only one in the “my protégé/close family member is dead doing the job I trained them to do” club.

Seriously though, I feel like when they find Jason after the whole Conner debacle everyone is just gonna be in a “death isn’t real” mindset and figure out how to find Wally and bring him back home.

Sanctuary can either lead to a really cool storytelling device, or to a rehash of a generally panned plot. Or both.

Cool storytelling device? The entire season is told in flashbacks during 'confessions' where the main cast tell the robots the reasons they were brought or came to Sanctuary, and we see how they will, at one point, overlap and there will be multiple people speaking.

The rehash? Darkseid sends Kara in as a Trojan horse and Clark decides to leave her at Sanctuary where she ultimately ends up murdering all the heroes there when their guards are down. If not murder, then capture and transport to Apokolips. But I wouldn't be surprised if it is murder.

Both? The stories converge to one point, with Kara being one of the main speakers, and during the finale arc we learn it's the League watching all the recordings that were recovered after the massacre at the Sanctuary.

Either way, there's only 1/3 chance Sanctuary doesn't follow its predecessor.

The only way I’m going to accept this arc, nay this season, is if there’s another season after it because seriously what the hell? There was so much going on in Over and Out and there’s only one episode left of the season. Why even bring up what’s happening in Markovia if they’re never going to address it again? Where are all the members of The Light? Was the base sum of their plans taking control of Atlantis? Were they thwarted off screen? What about Bialya and Qurac? What about the rest of the young justice team like Tim and Cassie and the others introduced in Seasons 2 and 3?

I’m going on a rant here, but seriously, doesn’t it seem like this season was structured in both a good but bad way? Taken individually, the arcs are geared around the OG members, but taken as a whole, it was always leading up to this arc, like it’s the clincher to the season. Like the any arc that directly influenced the events of “Nightwing’s” arc had any importance to the overall story structure.

Looking at the main plot visually, the season starts with Superboy and M’gann with Connor “dying”, skips over Artemis and leads to Zatanna finding out Superboy is alive maybe, skips over Kaldur to dance around Rocket who provides evidence in the idea of Superboy being trapped in the Phantom Zone, and goes straight to Nightwing putting together a plan to get him out.

The idea of the arcs was just a barebone structure with the filler idea of personal growth in the arcs that tied up a few loose ends that didn’t add to the main plot which seemed to have been locating the Phantom Zone and bringing out Connor as well as a certain power-hungry power-couple.

Don’t get me wrong though, I’d love to have a fifth season. Faults and all, I love this show!

Batkids gang!AU

So this post will be the checkpoint for this AU

The stuff written around the characters on this drawing are, for the most part, obsolete (especially the ages) or will be slightly changed so only use the character cards as references for them (found in the story's parts)

Some lil details : this AU takes place in the YJ cartoon universe during the 5 (?) years gap between season 1 and 2 (bc I never got over the 1st season). So as you must've guess it we'll see the team, minus Robin obviously,, It is also mostly Dck-centered

I'll try as much as I can to not be too ooc but they're all aged down and most the stuff they went through hasn't happen yet in this universe, only the formative ones kinda..? But they're not vigilantes here, just street kids trying to survive together.

And finally this is just me having fun with the DC universe, please don't take this too seriously. It is mainly supported by headcanons of mine. Im no comics writer and errors will most likely be made but hey that's part of the game and I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless !

I find it so frustrating that all the romantic pairs in yj get their moments to show how much they mean to each other, without room for doubt whether its romantic or platonic, except Bart and Eduardo.

I get it, Bart can't come out of the closet, but I'm done patting their back for Eduardo being canonically gay since they haven't even said anything about it in show.

And if we don't even get Eduardo checking up on Bart this last episode? Its gonna hurt NGL, of all the relationships, is theirs just unimportant? Did Bart even tell Ed about what he was doing? Will Ed ever be treated as seriously as Bart?(even then that's not a lot either). Can we see that they mean something to each other in the most dangerous event we've seen thus far?

Or is Ed just not important enough to even get some dialogue this season. I was so excited to see more of him based on season 3, especially now that hes queer it wouldve been good representation. Wouldn't it be funny if Danny and/or Dani was/were children's TV show hosts?

Danny would have that pathetic meow meow energy that Steve from Blue's clues had, whereas Dani would have that chaotic and unsettling Peewee Herman energy.

Of course this is a DC x DP prompt, so somehow one of the heros or rogues ends up being a massive fan with a crush even though they're way too old to be watching it.

There's so many possibilities for pairings, but my favorites so far are:

1) Jason is babysitting Lian and it's her favorite show.

2) Conner comes across it one night when he's watching TV alone at Mount Justice. It becomes a favorite comfort show and he's not sure why.

3) Damian has secretly been a fan of the show since it started. One day, (insert character who is older than Damian) catches him watching it and immediately notices how cute the host is.

4) Klarion pulls a prank by summoning characters from the show to fight YJ. He ends up accidentally summoning the real Danny/Dani.

5) Much like me, the main character has anxiety and when the world gets too much, they turn to the bright, happy world of children's programming. Danny and/or Dani's show never fails to calm them down.
