I am so freaking tired of people saying that the collector is just a bratty child, when in actuality, they’re quite the opposite. The Collector is a hurt little kid with abandonment issues and trauma who has never had any genuine connection with anyone in their life. They constantly change their behavior to be fitting to the people around them, even when those people aren’t always nice to him. Even if they try to hurt him. He even found it in his heart to forgive Belos, someone who had pretended to care about them for hundreds of years only to backstab them. Only for Belos to try and hurt them again. And all they wanted was to not be hated and alone. Like, do people even pay attention to their character arc? (I’ve seen/met a lot of people who do, but I’m talking about the people who don’t)
