The way I was literally just vagueposting about them on Discord 😭 the TIMING

I've read nearly every Captain Marvel fic on Ao3, Yonvers included, and I have a lot of thoughts

Gonna start this out by saying I hope this ship never becomes canon endgame

Complicated exes

Carol would not go back to him.

She would definitely have regrets and grief, but she would not go back to him. It would he impossible for her to feel safe around him.

She could maybe be a coworker or ally if she's feeling exceptionally generous and the universe would collapse otherwise, but a proper relationship is out of the window.

Yon-Rogg projected onto her a lot. She was an amnesiac clean slate. In the deleted scene, the person he most admired was himself - what if he started admiring himself after he rescued Carol? Viewing himself as a saviour too her?

Yon-Rogg would never see the Supreme Intelligence as Carol. He's a Kree supremacist, and he knows that Carol is human. He can't ever treat her as a full equal.

The Supreme Intelligence would demote him, but I doubt it would give Yon-Rogg any consequences that actually measured up too his actions.

They definitely hate each other after.

They would both beat the shit out of each other if given the chance.

They've definitely been in a relationship and they've definitely slept together.

Carol wouldn't tell Maria everything about Yon-Rogg at first because of the guilt of having a relationship but eventually would spill the beans during the blip. It would be very hard for her to do.

Yon-Rogg would 100% be jealous over Prince Yan. Meanwhile Prince Yan would obviously care, but he'd he incredibly cold and dismissive towards him. He knows him only as the guy that destroyed Carol's life. He's not deserving of his time.

Valkyrie definitely knows about him. Again, like Yan, she doesn't think he's deserving of her time. But she wouldn't hesitate at stabbing him if he came to it.

The Kree have a kinda poly culture so what I'm saying is that Carol was sleeping with Yon-Rogg and Dar-Benn at the same time and they hated each other a lot

Carol's relationship with Dar-Benn is awful but a lot healthier in the sense that Dar-Benn had zero idea about Carol's origins.

I can definitely see Dar-Benn learning about Carol's origins after she becomes Supremor and being shocked, but deciding not to do anything to punish Yon-Rogg. Again, Kree supremacy. Any good will she has for Carol goes out the window the moment she realises she's human.

The shared blood thing... poor Carol.

I NEED people to talk about the fact that Carol literally DIED and Yon-Rogg resurrected her like??? This is how you know the MCU has gone to shit because any good writer would milk the fuck outta this

Carol's fine with blood UNTIL it is blue. Blue blood makes her incredibly squeamish.

She has a Thing against blood needles and transfusions that she refuses to explain.

Yon-Rogg would never call her Carol. Mostly Vers, maybe Captain or Danvers, but never Carol. It would mean that he accepts her as a separate person.

Very bitter over her leaving - "why isn't she grateful for all I did for her?"

Yeah the Supreme Intelligence treated him wrong... but that does not mean Carol should forgive him in anyway

I know some Yonvers fans will kill me but it's an emotionally/psychologically abusive relationship.

She literally does not have access too basic medical information about her species???

Are we gonna talk about the fact that all of this time hes wittering about fair fights Carol physically can't beat him in a fair fight because Kree are stronger than humans? And that she isn't allowed to know that she's human? So she's being gaslit into thinking her failures are her fault when they're not?

I honestly also think its important that not everything should be romantic. They aren't romantic in canon and he still abused her. It's not always a partner or family member that can abuse you - it can be anyone.

I would write more but it's 1am so im wrapping it up. Anyways, final thoughts: a very interesting and deeply unhealthy dynamic that adds a lot to Carol's character but as an endgame ship would detract from her character arc. Anyways im tired af gn squad

Do you mean the first movie? All those Kree scenes that supposedly made Yon more sympathetic? Or have there been new concrete news?

The scenes with Yon I know we didn't get:

- Yon and Ronan arguing/talking before the deployment to Torfa (there were stills with them released before)

- Yon and Vers going through Lower Hala (Jude mentioned it was one of his favourite scenes to shoot :/ Brie also said some 'fun stuff' with her and Jude was cut, there was like a few seconds of b-roll footage from a source I wasn't able to track down but there was a gif somewhere)

- The blood transfusion scene (a bit of it was in the trailer, possibly the full scene featured Yon introducing himself to Vers 'for the first time', since they cut out all the scenes where his name is mentioned before the betrayal reveal to ~keep the secret~ even though they were already selling Yon-Rogg toys so it wasn't much of a secret anyway 🙄)

- (Possibly) Yon looking for Vers on Torfa after abduction/being back on the ship and worrying about her but also resolutely stating 'she'll be fine. She's Kree' (there was a still of him in a cave on Torfa, and Hero Storybook, a comic prequel features a form of this scene, and I'm assuming the book was written based on original uncut script for the movie so I'm not sure if it was cut at movie or script stage yet)

Basically I would give a limb for the original uncut script AND the original uncut movie

(another reason I know there were many more deleted scenes is because they did a focus group showing and people apparently were sympathetic towards Yon and since Marvel thinks it's audience is allergic to nuance they cut a lot of those scenes. The movie was definitely over 2 hours long before it was cut down. Also, before the DVD release we were promised 26 minutes of deleted scenes but in the end there were barely 10 minutes so I believe we are missing AT LEAST 15 minutes of Yon (and Vers) footage which is a lot considering Yon probably has like 15 minutes of screen time left in the movie we actually saw :/)

Captain Marvel 2 got me leaning even more into being Yonvers trash, sorry not sorry --

I am not sure I would classify Carol Danvers as a War Criminal like everybody else, as 100% the Supreme Intelligence needed to go, and is not like she continued to personally scorch the earth from there. But there has definitely been a lot of grey up for consideration in this sequel, and so much of the consequence of her actions, however valid were her feelings to do what she did. And I just find myself really needing her and Yon-Rogg to have a conversation. After all that has happened since 1995, so much that has gone down in space. (Also THANK YOU to the Skrull emperor for that needed line "We have nowhere to go" after an entire Secret Invasion season of Zero Accountability for Nick Fury and Carol Danvers in not finding a permanent settlement for the Skrulls as promised. At least Carol to her credit showed remorse on her face for it. Is a start.)

Like for damn sure Yon-Rogg needs to redeem himself -- have him paying his dues somewhere like Aquaman's brother Orm Marius for all I care -- but at least open the door for those dues to actually count towards something. Evidently this film wants me to ship Carol Danvers with Prince Yan, but nah. The personality difference is too jarring. I much prefer the gradual humanisation of Carol in her friendship (familyship) with Monica and Kamala than whatever switch gets flipped on Aladna. (And on that note, Aladna culture was the most annoying thing in for me a not-so-annoying film, so unlike with Tarnax, I was actually happy to see it get sucked into a wormhole🌀🌀.) If anything, I want Yan to kneel to Dar-Benn😼😽. She could use that sunshine more💔. And I think a lot of my perspective right now is I cannot actually see the villainess of the film, Dar-Benn, as a villain. She has probably been one of the more sympathetic antagonists we have had in the MCU in a minute (and she looked so damn pretty in her speech to Hala -- Imma simp). And through her I feel myself softening towards the Kree more than expected. Whatever the crimes of the empire, they are now a devastated people. And my previous scepticism at mention of "peace talks" in the Secret Invasion has dissipated. I could seriously believe after everything they would be now desperate for relief. And that bleeds its way into my long-sailing ship. Feed me to a pregnant Goose if you like, but still for me it is Yon-Rogg x Carol Danvers. Bring Jude Law back for Captain Marvel 3 (The Marvels 2) please.

Heyyy, I finally saw the Marvels with my family! OH MY GOD, what a truly unhinged movie. I was fighting for my life for most of it, just basically being like:

What do you think of it as a movie, btw?? There’s so much I like, from the singing planet, to Kamala and her entire family, to the scene where all the Flerkens eat the entire ship(!!). It’s incredibly ballsy — but also, WOW there’s some stuff I don’t like. It’s so goddamn fast paced that nothing has time to breathe, the villain is not very interesting, and I think the way the fight scenes are shot makes the CGI really hard to look at… in terms of looks from the original to this, it’s like comparing Spy Kids to Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Oof.

But I still had a LOT of fun, and I don’t really regret it. It’s probably still better than the Flash on account of pure dignity — and I guess to someone who knows these characters better than I do, I suppose the logic of the film makes more sense? My dad was confused by Kamala’s ability to use her powers without the bangles, and I still haven’t seen Ms. Marvel yet… so I might need an explanation on that myself. 😅

I liked the movie! I thought it was fun. Carol, Kamala, and Monica's dynamic was so much fun to watch, and every scene with Fury and the Khans cracked me up! Goose was amazing, too.

But yes, the movie could've been a lot better. I do think they could've added 15 or so more minutes because, like you said, it was so fast and had no time to breathe. I was kind of annoyed that the movie sort of glossed over Carol restarting a sun because that's a HUGE thing to do. Thor (temporarily) did the same thing in Infinity War, and it was rightly treated as a feat of strength, but the movie barely focuses on Carol (permanently) doing the same thing. It's like, "Oh, by the way, Carol restarted the sun. Moving on."

Yeah, the villain is BORING. I really don't know why they went with Dar-Benn, but I guess the problem is that Carol doesn't have many notable villains, and the ones she does have are related to the X-Men, like Rogue, Mystique, and Deathbird, so the MCU couldn't use them. Or they already used what villains she does have in the first movie, like Ronan the Accuser, Yon-Rogg, and the Supreme Intelligence. But I still think they could've used the Brood, Nitro, or Moonstone rather than Dar-Benn. Or even adapted a version of the Kree-Skrull War since I don't think the MCU is going to do it. And if they wanted to use the Quantum Bands (which are basically the Nega-Bands from the comics), they could've made Genis-Vell the villain (who would've turned good) since he's Mar-Vell's son and wields the Nega-Bands in the comics. Basically, there are many more interesting villains they could've chosen than Dar-Benn, or they should've written her better.

The logic of the film does not make sense to me at all; I just took it at face value. I still don't understand Kamala's origin or her abilities, and I've watched Ms Marvel. I think they've overly complicated her origin, and I still don't know what her mutant power is.

Captain Marvel: Part Eleven

Pairing: Carol Danvers x Female!Reader

Word Count: ~2.4k

Warnings: canon violence and angst

Author’s Note: For the sake of the rewrite, Howard and Maria Stark dies on December 16, 1997 instead of 1991. Tony is 23 when they die.

In the real world, Yon-Rogg and friends watch as both your and Carol's body glows with your powers. You and Caro are done being their slave, and you hate that it took you this long to finally realize it.

"They're trying to break out," Korath gasps.

The heat you're giving off is too hot for the machine to handle, so you're able to break free from it as easily as breathing. Carol is able to do the same but something is different about her. Her whole body is glowing with her powers since she freed herself from the device on her neck. She blasts all Kree members into the walls behind them. Her eyes, including the whites, shine the exact same color as her powers to prove to the Kree that she's done being their doormat.

There isn't a lot of time before they regain their energy, so you grab the Tesseract and flee from the room with Carol. In one of the hallways is Fury and Maria fighting a few other Kree members. Carol isn't playing around; she blasts all of the Kree members into the walls, knocking them out easily.

"You know you're glowing, right?" Fury observes.

"We'll explain later." You open the lunchbox and present it to Fury who just stares at it. "Take the Tesseract, leave the lunchbox."

"Me?"

"Yes."

"I'm not touching that thing!"

"Do you want me to get you an oven mitt?"

Suddenly, Goose lurches herself toward the box and giant tentacles emerge from the inside of her mouth. The tentacles pick up the Tesseract and Goose swallows it whole before returning back to a normal cat. Fury drops her in shock but you and Carol aren't fazed by this.

"I've seen worse."

You close the lunchbox to make it look like you still have it with you.

"Get the Skrulls in the QuadJet and go. Take the Flerken with you," Carol advises.

"What about you two?"

"We'll buy you some time." You follow your girlfriend down the hall and into the main room of the entire lab. It's filled with useless junk that Mar-Vell thought she'd need but is no longer of use to anyone. Carol jumps up to the railing above her and sits on the edge with a smile. "What are you doing?"

"Just waiting. They'll come to us."

You fly up to her and lean against the railing next to her.

"You know, if this thing goes south, and we can't save everyone, just know I tried."

"Don't say things like that."

"I couldn't save my planet. Markus might still be out there. Sooner or later, my past is going to catch up to me."

"We're going to make it out of here. All of us will."

The two doors on either side of the platform where you and Carol are and the door down below open, allowing for eight Kree members to walk inside with only two things on their minds: Kill you and Carol, and get the Tesseract.

"Hey, guys! Arm wrestle for the Tesseract?"

"I used to find you amusing. Let's put an end to this!" Yon-Rogg yells.

The Kree on either side of you advance quickly, but Carol punches the bottom of the platform with her powers, sending a wave of energy throughout the entire lab. Four Kree are incapacitated by the falling debris, Carol is unharmed when she jumps down, and you fly next to the busted platform to avoid the sharp metal below. You land on the untouched side of the platform and turn to Minn-Erva who aims her gun at you.

"This is a little long overdue."

Before she can pull the trigger, you shoot a fireball past her head and into the metal cable holding the platform up.

"You missed."

"Did I?"

Your fire burns right through the metal like paper and it snaps like a bone. The platform and Minn-Erva go crashing to the ground in a cloud of smoke while you're flying in the air so you don't get hurt. You land on the ground and look out for Minn-Erva through the smoke which she uses to her advantage. She jumps out at you and tackles you to the ground, but you're quicker than she thinks you are. You hit her in the stomach with a strong gust of wind, and she goes flying across the room and into the wall behind her. She doesn't have time to react before you're grabbing her throat and pulling her in closer to you.

"You really should have been nicer to me."

The hand that's around her throat goes up in flames, burning the hell out of her skin. She screams and tries to put the fire out but the damage has already been done. Her throat has a huge hole where your fire once was, and she slumps to the ground, dead. You turn to help Carol but she's holding her own pretty well. She is fighting Korath but dominating the hell out of him. He grabs the pinball machine to wack her with, but you send a wave of water into his body, causing him to fall off balance.

Yon-Rogg was pinned beneath the wreckage when Carol busted through the platform above, but he modified his suit to move things telepathically. He moves the debris out of the way and stares at you and Carol with fire in his eyes. He stretches his arm out to use that same technology on you and Carol, and you two float in the air along with some metal shards. With his technology, he slams the two of you to the wall and uses the metal to keep you pinned there.

However, Carol is not about to let him win this way. She conjures up a lot of power and blasts the metal away, and Yon-Rogg shields his eyes to avoid the sharp metal. During all of this, the handle of the lunchbox was cut off, and the base of it fell to the ground. The box unlocks, revealing that the Tesseract is no longer in there. Yon-Rogg looks at the box and the smile is lost from his face.

"Nice diversion," he chuckles.

"I could've sworn we put it in there, right, Y/N?"

"Yeah, I remember us placing the Tesseract inside the lunchbox... I think," you play along.

Yon-Rogg can see this isn't going to play out well for him if he stays here, so he quickly turns and runs away like the coward he is. You'd go after him but two more Kree show up to keep you and Carol occupied while Yon-Rogg goes after the Tesseract.

"It's about to get hot in here!"

The Kree grabs some metal shards to throw at you, but you heat your body up to two thousand eight hundred degrees, which is the melting point for carbon steel. Carol takes a few steps back to protect herself from the heat you're radiating, but it doing a good job at protecting you from the shards the Kree is throwing at you. It melts before it can reach your body, so they grab their guns to use on you instead.

"Duck!"

You duck without questioning, and Carol crosses her arms in front of her before pulling them apart, and her powers hit every Kree in the room. Some of them died from the impact when they hit the walls while the others are knocked unconscious.

"Come on!"

You two run through the lab in search Yon-Rogg who found the small fighter jet packed inside. One of his other members is out trying to take down the spaceship with every Skrull, Maria, Goose, and Fury in it. Yon-Rogg is about to help when Carol jumps on top of the fighter jet. She is about to punch the glass right open when Yon-Rogg enabled it to take off. Both he and Carol fall through the opening into space.

"Carol!" you yell.

You jump in the hole to go after them, and your space suit covers your body to protect yourself against the harsh environment of space. You can't use your powers in space since there is no oxygen for you to manipulate, but you were able to modify your spacesuit with thrusters so you can use it instead of free falling. Yon-Rogg tries desperately to get Carol off his jet and decides to use his suit's technology instead of potentially crashing.

He flings her off, and she free-falls into Earth's atmosphere. She can't fly, and it's your job to save her before she crashes. As soon as you enter the atmosphere, you used your aerokinesis to fly faster to her. For a split second, Carol turns into Bucky, and you're brought back to the night the love of your life died. 

No, this isn't happening again. You're not going to let another person you love die when you can do something about it.

"I'm coming, Carol!" You reach your hand out to grab her but it seems like she is always a tad longer than an arm's reach away. She closes her eyes to accept her fate, and you scream out to her. "No! Fight Carol! Fly!"

She opens her eyes but they aren't her normal color. Along with the whites, her entire eyeball is bright orange like the rest of her body. Her powers cover every inch of her body, and she jerks to the right and flies upward to save herself. You stop flying downward and watch her soar through the air much like you do when you're excited.

"This is awesome!!!" she laughs.

Yon-Rogg turns his craft around and heads right where you and Carol are, and you two smirk at each other when the same thought comes into both of your heads. With every ounce of strength, you two have, you punch the nose of the craft, sending Yon-Rogg off course. He spirals downward to Earth and crashes into the side of the mountain. You're about to go after him when you hear a booming sound come from above.

Something or someone is trying to enter Earth's atmosphere using jump points near the planet. You want nothing more than to go after Yon-Rogg but you have to deal with this new threat before anything else can happen. Carol is about to go up there and confront them when you stop her.

"I can't use my powers up there because there is no oxygen. In order for me to fight this war with you, I need to turn into you. I'll gain your abilities. Do I have your permission?"

"Yes," she nods. Your body transforms into Carol's like it's second nature to you, and she watches with a weird expression on her face. "That is not something I'll get used to."

"Come on, we need to go," you say using her voice.

She shakes off the initial surprise and takes off with you toward the new threat. The threat decides to launch an attack on Earth and sends a deadly missile toward the planet, but you and Carol aren't about to let it hit Earth. She grabs the missile by the nose and tries as hard as she can to stop it, and you help her turn it so that instead of flying toward Earth, it flies right into the other missiles flying behind it. They create a light show in the sky for whoever might be watching down below.

There are three alien spacecrafts in a row so you take the one on the right and Carol takes the one on the left. Both of you fly right into the side of the ship and go all the way through, punching through every wall and obstacle that gets in your way. Both ships explode as soon as you come out the other end, and the two of you meet in the middle right in front of the last one standing.

Wait, you know this craft. You know exactly who this is. Ronan is standing in a big room with a clear view of you and Carol. He and another man are talking but his eyes never leave you two. You grab Carol's hand and transform back into yourself, making sure to engage your spacesuit. Carol is the only thing holding you up right now, but you need to make sure Ronan knows it's you.

He locks eyes with you. His eyes narrow in anger knowing you're the one who destroyed his ships.

"What do we do, sir?" Ronan's right-hand man asks.

"Return to the jump point. We'll be back for their weapon."

"The Tesseract?"

"The woman." Ronan's eyes flicker from Carol to you. "Did you find Markus?"

"Yes, sir."

"Tell him we found her."

"Yes, sir."

Ronan returns back to the jump point knowing he's no match for you and Carol at this time. With him out of the way, you can focus on Yon-Rogg. When you enter the atmosphere, you use your powers to fly down to the ground with Carol. Yon-Rogg gets out of his jet and walks closer to you two. He has his weapons ready but puts them away after five minutes of just staring.

"I'm so proud of you," he says to Carol. "You've come a long way since I found you that day by the lake. Can you keep your emotions in check long enough to take me on? Or will it get the better of you, as always? I always told you that you'll be ready the day you can knock me down as yourself. This is that moment. This is that moment, Vers! Turn off the light show and prove to me, you can beat me with--"

Carol is done with his shit and blasts him back into the mountain with her powers.

"Thank you for doing that," you laugh.

Yon-Rogg can barely speak from trying to catch his breath, and he looks up at you two when you approach him.

"I have nothing to prove to you," she says calmly.

"I'm so proud of you," you grin and Carol blushes at the compliment.

Carol reaches her hand out for Yon-Rogg to take but instead of helping him up, she drags him to the fighter jet he stole. She shoves him inside and manipulates the controls to head back to Hala.

"Destination: Hala," the computer chirps.

"I can't go back empty-handed," Yon-Rogg sighs.

"You won't be empty-handed. I'm sending you with a message. Tell the Supreme Intelligence that I'm coming to end it. The war, the lies, all of it."

"You can't do this."

"Watch us," you grin and close the hatch.

To give the jet enough juice to make it back to Hala, Carol shot the engine with her powers. The jet immediately takes off and heads into the atmosphere with the intention of returning back to Hala.

"We did it!" you laugh.

You pull her closer to you and kiss her with a smile on your face. This is a victory kiss because she is now free from whatever the Kree did to her for the past six years.

Spoilery rambling thoughts on The Marvels under the cut

I am so happy we're getting Maria Rambeau content, even if it is mostly alt reality Maria. It would be interesting to see X-Men pulled into main Marvel by America going over to bring Monica back to her home universe. Which means does SABER know about America? They're well informed but she ended up with the wizards. I'm sure there's a file after the attack in New York in MoM but then to the rest of the world she would have disappeared. Or is that going to be the plot of Young Avengers 1, Kamala meeting a trained America and then going to get Monica back?

I know why Kamala goes to Kate (is that a new apartment Ms. Bishop? Smart) but while Kate no doubt knows there is a saviour of Jersey City, not that it is Kamala. Where was the power demonstration and how long does Kamala think she can run things with 1) Kate's penchant for ignoring orders and 2) the fact that she is a high school kid. Again, child soldiers much? And really at some point Kamala is going to blab about how she snuck the tablet in the chaos of the initial fight in her house. And while Kate would respect the guile it also would reveal that Kamala doesn't have the safety net/backing she implies.

Goose! Mama Goose! Do flerkens reproduce asexually or is there a male flerken she hooked up with while catching a ride on Carol's shoulder? Where are the babies? I can't imagine Goose being happy with being separated from them for long so quickly, but they are a menace in quantity and no way the crew will accept them on the SABER platform. Are they in Louisiana with Carol on the farm? Did they warn the neighbors?

Did they touch up Hailee's face to make it more angular? I had to do a double take when they showed her face because it looked off. Not oh she is losing the baby fat off, but like cgi off. I know I mentioned before that I hate her uniform because it is zero protection but I hate Kate's uniform because she might as well wear a t-shirt.

I thought Dar Benn was a good character. Completely wrong casting, but a good character. I just couldn't take the actress seriously and half the times the camera cut to her it just threw me out of the movie. Not that she is bad actress, honestly she didn't do much acting in the role and was emotionally written very one note so its not like she could show any range. But she tried to be menacing and it was laughable. And she had no presence, she was just there saying lines and swinging a reused prop. Maybe if Ronan hadn't been the only person with one of those battle hammers maybe I would accept it as a "universal weapon". If it is meant to convey rank, why did Ronan have it before the fall of Hala when he was taking orders from Yon Rogg?

Secret Invasion makes both more and less sense if this was supposed to be before it. It makes more sense for the Skrull presence on Earth but less sense for Fury's arc. It makes more sense if it is after for Fury's arc and it explains why Carol had to call King Valkyrie to get the Skrull survivors instead of Fury and why the Skrulls manning SABER in Spiderman FFH are now gone but also, why would anyone trust Fury after the very public fuck up in SI in the square and his very literal going rogue for the whole of it? Why do Carol and Monica never bring up him getting Talos killed? Or anyone warning Carol about the very real political shit storm relating to Skrulls on Earth? Why did they even bother making Secret Invasion if it so clearly doesn't fit in to their own storyline?

And really, how funny would it have been if they hadn't done SI with all its bullshit and at the end of the Kate scene Maria Hill walks in and is like "gimme that tablet back" and Kate and Kamala both go full fangirl.

Speaking of fangirls, I did like the nod of Monica acknowledging she not only knows Kamala write fanfic about her Aunty Carol but also that she had read some of it.

Count on Loki to be able to remove the discs without causing pain. There was the subtle, almost negligible sting of the teeth retracting, and then nothing. Her head turned slightly, glancing towards the hand that came to rest on her hip. His featherlight touch was so distracting she didn’t even feel the removal of the other disc. She laughed quietly at his comment, and hoped that it was enough to cover her nerves. A feeling swirled in her stomach, and she couldn’t rightly tell what it was.

Anticipation? Excitement? Dread?

“If I got a disc anywhere intimate, I’d just space myself,” Carol retorted, “just shoot myself out the airlock.”

In hindsight, probably not the thing to say to someone she was interested in, but she wasn’t particularly adept at romance. Her relationship with Yon-Rogg hadn’t been… Well, it just wasn’t a good example. She wondered how Loki would differ. He hadn’t lied to her, to her knowledge, least of all about her entire life and purpose. So a point in the god’s favour.

Sex with the Starforce Commander hadn’t been particularly tender or sensual. It’d been… hard. What would it be like with—

Carol stopped mid-thought, thankful that Loki couldn’t see her face. Was she honestly thinking about what sleeping with the God of Mischief would be like?

Frustrating, probably. Her lips threatened to curve into a smirk at her own thought.

When his hand snaked lower though, she faltered.

“Forgive me, Orator,” she said as she turned to face him, managing his title without too much of a face, “but I have to change, for the… uh, next event.”

Elegant as ever, Danvers. She hurried back into the bathroom.

The little drone was waiting for her.

“Have you chosen an outfit for the evening?”

She sighed, walking back into the closet. Which stupidly impractical outfit should she wear?

Carol paused when her eyes fell upon one particular dress. It was a deep green, and even in the pale light of the closet, it possessed a beautiful sheen. She reached for it, and found the fabric smooth, reminiscent of silk.

“A wonderful choice, my lady,” the drone assured her.

A bit later she emerged wearing the dark green dress that shimmered in the room’s lighting, a halter-top that elegantly wrapped around her neck for excess fabric to drape off her back like a cloak. Golden bangles adorned her wrists, and sparkling earrings were clearly seen as her hair was done up in a classy bun.

The bodies were gone now, and most of the room had been restored to its former glory. She smirked, walking forward and offering him his cloak back.

“They work fast,” she said, noticing the extra drones had disappeared. She cleared her throat. “Thanks, for the cloak.”

“So,” Carol refocused herself on their mission, “what’d you find out?”

I write on Discord (primarily) or through Tumblr messages. I do like to stay on Tumblr for plotting and only hand out my Discord when I know we'll be doing something together. I write in third person, past tense and like my writing partners to at least match the third person. I typically write 2-4 paragraphs. Sometimes more, if I'm feeling really inspired. Hardly ever less. Daily replies won't happen because I work full-time during the week. I tend to get them out within 2-3 days.

I'm for the most part only interested in canon x canon pairings. MxM is my preference. I'll only take on a very limited amount of MxF (with me as the male, as I don't have any female muses I write from the Marvel universe). I might be able to be talked into some canon x OC threads but only MxM for those. I like canon and canon divergent plots. No AUs that are way out there and don't make sense in the context of the Marvel universe. I lean towards romantic pairings and like writing NSFW/smut. I have no triggers or limits and like dark/angsty plots. However, that doesn't necessarily mean I'm interested in doing anything and everything. All characters will be 18+ for these.

‘’You promised me there was nothing between you and him!’’ She couldn’t believe it. It was one thing to wake up alone in the middle of the night after a night of whispered promises and intertwined breaths, but to walk into her (maybe) partner and their commander sharing a kiss was a thought she never wanted to entertain. Yet, it happened. 

Yon-Rogg was a jerk. He presented himself as this benevolent leader figure with a genuine desire to help others, always having the right word to say to those who needed it and she didn’t like him. Not just because she could see through his facade, but because when he was around Vers, Yon-Rogg seemed like a different man. As if he was trying to penetrate her soul and suck out every thought she had. He needed something from her and she could read his calculated moves. Vers was, however, blind to it. At least she thought, they never talked much about him.

‘’And at that time it was the truth,’’ Vers threw up her hands like whatever because she didn't understand why was the girl so upset. In Vers’ mind, they were just sleeping together; de-stressing, as the girl once said while grabbing Vers’ hips to turn her around, and make her see stars. ‘’I thought you and Minn-Erva had another bet on.’’

‘’We only ever had one bet, which I won by the way, and-’’ she suddenly stopped because she didn't know what to say. The girl suddenly realized how strange she sounded. She and Vers were not a couple, they spent a couple of nights together and that was all, she had no right to ask  for an explanation. But it hurt. She thought that something had started to develop between them, but it was probably only in her head. 

‘’I’m sorry, I was stupid and I thought- I believed there was something forming between us.’’ There was no point in lying, she had already made a mess of herself. The girl was almost crying. They stood in Vers’ room,  it was the closest room where they wouldn't disturb anyone in the middle of the night. Vers was fully dressed in sports clothes, which meant that she had another nightmare and, as was her habit, went to work out. The girl was only in her robe, hugging it tightly to her body as the nights on Hala became colder these days. There was silence.

Until Vers broke it. ‘’Yon-Rogg kissed me, I didn't kiss him. He has been watching us for a long time and he thinks that this ‘thing’ between us makes it impossible for us to concentrate and improve in our duties. That we distract each other.’’

Oh.

‘’I guess his kiss was supposed to be some kind of power move? I have no idea, maybe he though that his kiss would magically erase my feelings? I mean, my head is a mess and my memory sucks but I do have a strong feeling that I know how it feels like to like someone-’’ Vers kept rambling and moving in circles, and didn't notice at all how the girl was looking at her with big eyes and a half-open mouth.

‘’Oh,’ the girl stopped her rambling and caught her hands lightly. She knew Vers. She is decisive and has a strong spirit, she likes to argue but always only about small things, she respects the decisions of her superiors and even if she sometimes tries to be a rebel, she remains loyal to her people. But what is most important, she listens to her guts. And if her guts told her to doubt Yon-Rogg, that’s a step forward, and the girl was winning.

With their fingers intertwined, she pulled her close, put her mouth to Vers’ ear and whispered: ‘’He’s a dick.’’ Her mouth continued lower, across her cheek, until it reached the edge of her lips lifted in a smile. 

‘’'Will you let me continue to be your distraction, this time officially?’’ They could not maintain eye contact, both girls' eyes on nothing but the other's lips. Their breath began to mix and they could hear each other's heartbeats.

‘’Only if I can stay as yours,’’ Vers’ hands began to drift freely under her robe, ‘’officially!’’

As they fell back onto the unmade bed, the sound of their breaths and whimpers filled the room, echoing the warmth of their whispered promises.
