(house baybeyy. for some reason i vividly and explicitly remember watching a video shitting on a children's book written and drawn by ai as i was doing the windows around the door)

(fun fact the lil animation tidbits of yora showering were part of the background itself. in the animation this background is actually 4 pngs that rapidly change. same with the scrolling down shot actually. but for that i had to do some mindfuckery tricks to slowly move each png down at a steady pace. for some reason i just remembered that as i was doing that i was watching a video documentary about the development of this old japanese game called swamp or smth?? what)

(the room!! i did the blanket on a sepparate layer so it's not here. literally whenever i had to pause animating itself to go do a background to add in the shot my work on this project would grind to a halt bc i did NOT like doing backgrounds and kinda dreaded them)

also another fun fact. i began working on this animation before kenikari's demo was even out, on january. i wanted to post the full two days before i released the demo, to build up hype. oh, young me. foolish young me. you idiot. you baby dumbass. you bufoon

Do your Tav’s have a backstory? Like who were they before the nautiloid? Did they have family? How did they become their chosen class? Or just anything info you have laid out for them, would love to know.

okay, so aside from zayis i don't have a ton of lore on a lot of my tav's but i'll offer up what i can about each one:

BOONE

i failed to mention boone in my previous tav post (i'm sorry del forgive me) but since then i've developed a little bit of backstory for her.

basically, she's just your average blacksmith. she comes from a pretty big family of smithers, all of which are incredibly talented in their craft. her father especially is a very prominent business owner in baldur's gate and because of this, and the fact that she's the oldest sibling, she spends a lot of time helping him at the shop.

essentially destined to be the child that inherits the business, a lot of her energy is spent learning as much as she can. so relationship wise she's pretty lonely, up until pip (@fictionobsession's hilariously, lovely tav) ends up crashing into her life.

i'm not sure timeline wise how it all works out, but i figure not long after meeting pip, both boone and her get taken to the nautiloid causing her to internally panic because she's never ventured this far from home before.

in terms of family, boone comes from a really tight-knit group. definitely your average sitcom kind of family where there's always something chaotic happening but in the end everything works out and they all love each other. and because of this, the idea of suddenly being thrust into an adventurer's role does not sit well with her at first. all she wants is to get home and go back to work, but with everything happening she can't so she just sort of internally struggles with it all until she really finds her own and begins to realize that maybe she doesn't want to become exactly like her father.

in regards to her class, she's a fighter which she definitely takes on a young age after wanting to learn about all of the weapons her she helps her father forge!

YORA

i don't really have a ton on my dark urge because i haven't finished the campaign and have somehow avoided quest line spoilers. so, all i can really tell you is that they're very calculated. given the fact that they have no recollection of their past, they're very guarded among the rest of the party and often use their lack of memory to manipulate those around them.

unfortunately, this means they definitely targets astarion a lot, especially after learning about him and cazador, using him for personal gain whenever they can by allowing him to think he's in control.

because of this, i definitely envisioned them as this sort of "false prophet" kind of ally where a lot what they say is completely untrue but because of how convincing they are everyone just listens, resulting in a lot of terrible decision making. (i.e. ascended astarion, dark justicier shadowheart, etc.)

in terms of class, i've been playing them as a nature domain cleric but i think i'm going to reclass because i don't think it truly fits their personality? might make them a paladin or maybe even a warlock?

CORWIN

corwin's backstory i'd say isn't super fleshed out yet. but i definitely see her as this very thoughtful individual who grows up to hate the position they're in. having been raised amongst a family who are so devoted to lolth to the point of madness, corwin definitely takes a lot about their chosen religion at face value. at a young age she participates in a lot of the usual rituals and prayers, but as she grows older she becomes more curious about the world, resulting in her discovery of magic.

i haven't decided exactly how she realizes she's a sorcerer but i know for sure she's definitely a late bloomer. thanks to her parents unwillingness to try and support her newfound powers, there's for sure a period of time where she struggles with the balance of remaining under lolth vs. leaving to discover herself before she ultimately picks the latter.

then after that she travels to baldur's gate in search of resources, she ends up working at sorcerous sundries before realizing how awful it is and finding work at a small shop that sells/trades rare goods until she's inevitably kidnapped by the mind flayers.

ZAYIS

i definitely think i talk about zayis an ungodly amount but i realize i've never talked about her class much? she's an arcane trickster rogue and definitely found out early on she had an affinity for illusionary magic.

growing up, her and dharmir would often spend hours reading in their study, escaping the abuse of their father/the help, and during this time zayis grew quite fond of learning about magic. this ultimately led to her testing out a bunch of spells, quickly finding she could produce small illusions to entertain herself.

eventually, this led to her using such abilities to rob baldur's elite. at parties she was required to attend she'd often practice her spells and slight of hand, caring very little about the risks until ultimately she was caught by gortash.

this moment is definitely pretty significant in zayis's overall decision to leave the manor and essentially become a criminal, resulting in the more rogue-ish aspects of her class!

The apartment building at a gym on the street level. Many of the people living in the building would go there to get a quick workout in and stay in shape. Souta was no different, he would go to the gym every morning. Despite it all, he would still wear a face mask. Even though this one was specifically designed for a proper workout. Other then that he wore a lose tank top, training shorts and sneakers.

Looking over, he would spot the familiar face of the neighbor. Placing the weight down, he would take the earpods out. "Yora, here for a workout too? Had I know you were planning to go to the gym too, then we could have gone together." He had noticed her watch for a bit before he 'spotted' her but he was going to let her have that.

OKAY SO,,, Mimiga posting time. Another longer-ish one I think Roscoe and Yora are two lesbian Mimiga that live together on a floating island on [Insert earth-adjacent planet name]. Roscoe is the leader of the village they both reside in, acting as the one who helps make a lot of important decisions, providing food as well as tasking herself with handling any threats that may pose themselves to the village/island as a whole, whether that be fauna, mechanical or other exterior factors. Roscoe is admittedly a little wild in her behaviours (partially attributed to her consumption of cooked red flowers), loud, brash and her inhibitions are near non-existent. She is also, by comparison to other mimiga around her, QUITE TALL, mostly due to her consumption of aforementioned red flowers, which may or may not also grant her other temporary abilities depending on if she gets protective enough :) ALSO, (A WIP version of) her default weapons of choice!! Roscoe is someone who tends to lean on the aggressive side of combat, and as such her arsenal leans into that in order to compensate! While a lot of their efficiency is thanks to their users raw strength and skill, part of it is due to their in-built ranged component! Firing from the palm, the gauntlets allow the user to fire around 4 high powered shots before reloading, after which cartridge must then be forcefully ejected by closing one's paw into a fist in a quick motion, which can only be done on an empty cartridge for some modicum of safety in its use. (Also it makes the M1 garand ping when ejected cos hooh,,)

And now for her WIFE!!! (I don't have much drawn of her at the moment so ehehe...)

Yora!! Yora is the town's resident researcher, VERY reserved in how she chooses to engage with others and so rarely leaves the town's limits whatsoever. This of course, grants her very little opportunities to actually research anything without Roscoe's help, which is why her gf will often bring her tech or organic tissue/material from slain beasts on her expeditions. She is also VERY sentimental when it comes to things that Roscoe brings stuff back for her, regardless of how useful it actually is to her research (The flower she wears being a key example of this, having been gifted it by Roscoe and now so rarely ever being seen without it). Kind of a miracle that she can handle Roscoe at all considering the two of them are of completely different energies to one another. She'll never forget the time Roscoe came home from whatever scarred her eye, where the leader just kept talking about A. How cool it's gonna look as a scar B. How "You should have seen the other guy" and C. How she could wear an eye patch and be like those pirates they read about, snickering and letting out an "ARRRRRR" She couldn't tell if it was all adrenaline or if she just, genuinely didn't feel any of it
