and here’s my last and final request before i zoom off to my college campus!
may i pls request day 29, wake up with ler michikatsu and lee yoriichi?
thank you my friend for letting me send in these prompts!! have fun!
No problem! Although it may take a while with the first one, but I'll do my best! Sorry if it's too short...
Day 29: Wake up!
Ler: Michikatsu Tsugikuni
Lee: Yoriichi Tsugikuni
'Yoriichi, are you awake?', Michikatsu stirred his brother, he hated that he was such a heavy sleeper.
An earthquake could happen and he wouldn't even know it.
'Yoriichi! Wake up! Must play! Come on! Yoriichi?', his efforts were fruitless, Yoriichi didn't move, it seemed that... Oh no....
'YORIICHI?!', Michikatsu pinched his brother countless times, his sides, ribs, thighs, neck, everything.
Michikatsu then went more extreme, he would give him a good 'breath'.
*pbbbbt!!* 'WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NIHIHI-SAHAHAN?! WHY AHAHARE YOU TIHIHICKLIHIHING ME?!'
'Until you woke up! I was worried about you!' Yoriichi huddled in on himself, apologizing to his brother for scaring him. 'SOHOHORRY!!'
'I think you're not quite awake yet, don't worry! Now I will be your alarm!'

Okay here me out please....So reader leaves their beloved baby with their father Muzan for the night, because he said he can handle it....he can't the baby is everywhere, he can't take his eyes off of them for a minute without her just vanishing to somewhere else. Eventually baby get's of the infinity castle and finds herself being coddled by Yoriichi and Muzan is just.....`he's panicking and like he don't know what to do, so like eventually he has to fess up to reader that he fucked up and she has to go get the baby and she and yorrichi lightly have a conversation (roast session) about muzan and responsibility
I know this is a bit strange but please I just think it would be funny
Oh? Okay, okay! I’ll try my best with this and hey, we get to see Yoriichi again! I missed Yoriichi so thank you dearly for giving us the angel back! The angel and demon
If you don’t mind, I’ll name the kid myself since haven’t been given a name
Kibutsuji Muzan- Wondering Child
Tumblr media
“Muzan, my love. All you need to do is watch Kuragari” You gently remark with a soft voice and a understanding tint, offering the newborn Kuragari to your husband as his blood reds scanned over both you and the cooing baby. Muzan scoffed under his breath at the rather easy task you given him, watch his own biological infant. He could do it blindfolded and with one arm tied to his back
The moment you walked out of the room, Muzan immediately plopped the blood red-eyed baby into his cute little playcrib as he sat down, right before Kuragari in his playarea, to pick up a nearby abandoned novel to skim through the hefty pages and pinpoint the chapter he was at. He took his eyes of the boy for only a minute or so when he realised the lack of cooing and giggling was concerning, looking up. His heart drooped in concern
He’s gone? He’s gone?! Where did he go?! He’s a baby! How is he gone already?!
Muzan almost panicked as he shot up from his comfortable plush arm chair and frantically checked every nook and cranny of the spacious room for Kuragari with some… or more, all furniture thrown at the walls along the way, no success further alarmed him. How is a few months year old already more fidgety and energetic than a bumbling four year old
Muzan ended up almost destroying the entire Infinity Castle in search for a single small demon. He truly had no clue where that bouncing newborn could be and the only reason he had a decent clue was because a number of trees leading down a specific dirt path, once transported out of the Infinity Castle, had the same fang-like bite marks in them. As if a baby animal was teething on the trunks
Perfect
The King of Demons couldn’t be anymore thankful that time itself had given him a shred of mercy and averted the sky to pitch black so the glowing moon would shower cool moonlight down on his dead white complexion. His slight relief was cut short when he finally found the source of sudden familiar giggling, he knew that voice belonged to his son so he followed it
And what he saw terrified him as he definitely had his hands too tied to be able to take action
That… that bastard, Tsugikuni Yoriichi holding his precious baby boy in his lap as Kuragari happily rose his cute tiny hands up to touch Yoriichi’s much bigger, calloused palms. The monstrous human had a very shocked expression on his face as his plum reds looked ready to swell up in tears, his heart touched by the Prince of Demons being so sweet and playful, despite being the enemy
Muzan knew very well he couldn’t intervene at all as the last time he hardly butted heads with that Yoriichi. He only got away with one single strand of his entire being left, it was far too close for his comfort though, he knew he also needed to get his beloved Kuragari back. The only solution that came to his head was you, the boy’s mother
You were a human, just like Yorichi. You could get the boy back, no problem. Unlike Muzan himself
Cemented on his meticulous plan to get his baby back from the monster, Muzan rushed back to the Infinity Castle at his top speed and seemingly arrived in the same room you stood before, just in the nick of time to greet you. “Greetings, my love. Where’s Kuragari?” You ask softly and almost immediately, out of concern as Muzan flinches guilty, sighing out to try relieve him of the stress. He should just tell you, no need to lie or gaslight you into believing such nonsense
“You know that beast, Tsugikuni. He has stolen our son. I only took my eyes off him for a minute, if not two and he was gone, I luckily tracked him down by the teeth marks on trees but I cannot get him back, you know” You sighed displeased, part of you knew this simple task would end in absolute disaster but since you loved the clueless demons, you just flashed a sweet, gentle smile and took his hand encouragingly
“Let’s go find our Kuragari then, my dear”
Laughing joyfully with your precious Kuragari sat on your lap, fiddling and pulling on the lengthy ends of your haori to entertain himself and satisfy his curiosity. You were perched on the open wooden edge-skirt of the homely Minka belonging to the one and only swordsman that ruled the battlefield with a platinum fist, Yoriichi himself. The same Yoriichi who apparently ‘stole’ your son but you got the actual picture from Yoriichi and it made you realise your husband is no where near competent with childcare
“I found this one crawling around my backyard. I don’t know how he got there but he seemed to have travelled miles and was hungry, he kept biting at everything” Every word that human man said felt very genuine and you weren’t ever gonna try deny that him and his statements were
His explanation of the situation made much more sense than what Muzan proclaimed happened, such a weird one nevertheless. Yoriichi didn’t even know your son existed in the first place, why would he go after him?
Needless to say… you and Yoriichi spent almost a hour trading innocent insults at Muzan and his so-called parenting style. You didn’t really hate your husband, he actually tried and took responsibility by telling you about losing him but he should always be watching Kuragari, the newborn should never left alone not had eyes taken off him for even a minute and somebody like Yorichi, who lost his soon-to-be-born child to a demon, knows that
You have learnt to never entrust Kuragari to Muzan, you will just have to go to Yoriichi instead

The Tsugikuni twins make me so-??? I love them so much. They're so sweet yet so tragic and it hurts my very soul.
From birth they were separated and not allowed to see each other even though they were literally t w i n s. This would have been sad already if it were siblings, but twins???
Granted, they couldn't form much of a connection, but they met with each other every now and then. Michikatsu pitied his brother, and Yorichi admired his. Though they were somewhat starting to create a bond, it all came crashing down because of how different they were.
Yorichi was a natural with the sword, yet he was sensitive and didnt like hurting others.
Michikatsu was average at best, but he didn't care much for how his opponents ended up and in the end only cared about being the strongest.
Now imagine you are Michikatsu, youre training like usual, then you see your brother. He talks, and then smiles, things you've never seen him do. Then he says he wants to be a samurai alongside you, asks if he can try wielding a sword, and then OBLITERATES, the man you struggled to beat, with a literal bamboo stick. I'd be shocked, and him feeling jealousy isn't at all unnatural.
Then, to top it all of, his little brother DOESNT CARE. He did what you were trying to do for years WITH EASE, and HE DOESNT CARE. He's asking to fly kites. Kites. As if the situation isn't bad enough, apparently he can see through bodies. What.
Now let's look at it from Yorichi's perspective. He's been quiet for years, too afraid to stand out too much because he might bring demise to the whole family(this was mentioned in a sengoku rumour)(like taisho rumours but for the sengoku era) and now hes feeling very happy and carefree, so he speaks up to his brother, he wants to play with him, like any 7 year old would, so he wants to do something his brother likes: sword fighting. He soon learns that he doesn't like it, because it involves hitting people. He thinks it's boring, so he asks to fly kites. He also finds it wierd how his brother is asking about simple things like the see-through stuff. Everyone can see through bodies, right.
There's a LOT of misunderstanding in this relationship. Anyway, as we see from these two scenes, each twin values something different. Michikatsu wants to get better at wielding a sword, because it's all he's ever known, Yorichi wants to spend time with his brother. It's kinda sad, honestly.
Michikatsu wanted power, but he was always beneath his brother, who DIDNT EVEN CARE about what he yearned for so much. He had family, but oh well, not more important than samurai stuff.
Yorichi HAD power, but he didnt want it. He wanted to bond with his brother, later on, to spend the rest of his days with his wife, hold his unborn baby, he didn't get to do either of that.
I love them so much they make me so sad.
Lol sorry for my ramblings, anyway this is my first analysis(ish?) so I hope It makes sense.

Could you do something with Lee Kokushibou and Ler Yorrichi? From when they were kids if that's okay with you. (I don't remember koku's human name sorry 🥲)
OHHH!! The Tsugikuni brothers! Well, Kokushibo's name was Michikatsu! But of course!
Warning: This fanfic contains tickles. Also remind them that I don't speak English, so if they find any errors, let me know to correct it. I hope you like it!
Ler: Yorichi Tsugikuni
Lee: Michikatsu Tsugikuni (UpperMoon 1 / Kokushibo)
'Are you still training?', Michikatsu dropped the katana in shock, when he turned around, he sighed, it was just Yorichi. 'Shouldn't you be asleep?' 'No, I'm training!', Michikatsu picked up his katana and continued to slash into the air.
'Come on, you have to go to sleep' 'If you want to sleep so much, then go and sleep, I'm busy', Yorichi sighed and walked over to his brother. 'That?! At what point-?!', again, Yorichi had scared his brother with his stealth
Michikatsu ignored him, he knew that Yorichi would say something like: 'If you want to be the best samurai in the world, you must sleep', he already expected it. But this time, the phrase changed a bit
'Go to sleep or I'll make you' 'Make me then', Michikatsu frowned and continued
'Wahahahait! Y-Yorichi! Yohohou're gohohonna wahahake-! Agh! Yohohorichiii!', Michikatsu dropped his katana, trying to pry his fingers away from his armpits, but his instinct was to bring his arms together and catch Yorichi's fingers.
'I warned you, I saw that there was enormous tension in your neck and ribs, so I will try to ease your tension so that you rest better', Yorichi smiled, his fingers kneading his armpits and ribs, debating when to go for his neck
'Ihihit's sohoho bahahad! Hohow? Wahahahait!', Michikatsu tried to stand firm, but his legs began to shake and he fell to his knees, being chased by his brother, who surprised him with a light brush on the back of his neck.
'YOHO-', he covered his mouth, trying to fight against his brother, but it was in vain, at some point he would start screaming, he couldn't bear being tickled, even less if they were soft, they made him implore
'Hey brother, do you like raspberries?' Michikatsu's eyes widened more than before, giving him a look that begged him not to.
'*PBBBBT*' 'STAHAHAP!! STAHHAHHAHAP!! PLEHEHEASE!! *PBBBBT* NOHOHO!! Y-YOHOHORICHIII!!!', Michikatsu howled.
'So? *PBBBT* are you going to sleep? *PBBBBBBBT* or will you continue training?' 'I WIHIHILL SLEHEHEHEP!!! I SWEHEHEHEAR!! GEAHAHAHAHA!! BROHOHO!!', Michikatsu hit the floor with his fists, he wanted it to end, he knew what would wake up the others, but maybe later they could play|
'Okay!', she released him, checking around for someone who has been attracted and has seen them, as he said before, it was too late for training.
'Ruhuhude!' 'Okay, let's go to our rooms, see ya', Michikatsu crawled to his room, still laughing and feeling bad not having Yorichi by his side, but he only thought about it for a few seconds before falling into a deep sleep.

Underneath the Christmas Tree
...It’s a star to go atop the tree. It looks familiar to the North Star, like the one you saw the day that you met Yoriichi.
.。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。..。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。.
They said that the North Star, Polaris, was a guide for all who were lost.
Yoriichi wasn’t a man who got lost very often. This was simply because there was nowhere he could go, he had no destination. He was just wandering, letting life carry the weight of his feet as they tugged him forward and toward wherever he may end up next. This is why the North Star was irrelevant to a man like Yoriichi. He had no use of guidance.
But he still found himself following it at times. Seeing where it may take him- if he followed it long enough, it might just bring him to where he needs to be. This was, of course, superstitious at most and Yoriichi was aware that believing such a thing would only lead to another cliff somewhere. But when you have nowhere else to go, especially during these cold times full of snow, why not try and follow it?
The shining light in the sky brings Yoriichi into a lush forest painted blue with the atmosphere of night. The snow heavy on the tree branches and blanketed over the grassy ground was the easiest thing to see at this time of night- as dark as it was, the snow was still pure white and almost glistening like crystals. The slayer could feel cold wet seep into his tabi boots as he walked with his head tilted towards the sky. He’ll just have to wash them later, he supposes, whenever he decides to stop being childish tonight.
It’s a little longer until, just as he predicted, the star leads him to a snowy hill with no way of continuing forward unless he somehow had some rope to help him climb down several feet. But at the bottom of the cliff was only a chilly lake, so surely he’d have to somehow cross that, first. Yoriichi looks back up at the sky with a soft, tired sigh.
One day, it might take him somewhere.
“Oh- Hello,”
The slayer straightens at the sound of a voice behind him, his eyes still relaxed and slim as he looks over his shoulder. It’s a villager from the nearby town. He remembers seeing you before with a basket of apples, trying to haggle with one of the vendors to trade for oranges. He remembers a lot of things during his travels, so he’s not particularly surprised he’s run across you before. Though the chances of you remembering him are slim, considering you’ve never talked or made eye contact.
“I wasn’t aware anyone else knew this spot…” You slowly walk through the snow and to Yoriichi’s side, looking a bit hesitant as you look up at the sky like he was before. “It’s perfect for seeing the North Star, isn’t it?”
His eyes widen, just a fraction.
You turn to meet his gaze with a smile, and Yoriichi can see the stars shining in your eyes.
And he thinks, perhaps, this is what he was being led to this entire time.
.。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。..。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。.

Don't read this if you don't want Kimetsu no Yaiba manga spoilers.
It's about the recent chapters.
So I saw the wake me up inside spongebob meme and then I thought about the recent KNY chapters. So while I'm feeling tired and drained, this happened. I doodled a picturesque stick figure Yoriichi battling his brother Michikatsu in the flashback from Kokushibo in the recent arc.
And then I thought about my doubts and fears for the final arc. It's all happening way too fast, I really thought it would take more time to reach the final arc until now. I just want to go back in time and read the manga slower.
I'll be pretending that I never caught up and I'm still new to the series. So while in a mess of depression, anxiety and drowsiness I somehow made another meme despite my horrible mood.
Don't take this seriously, I don't even make sense right now.
It all started with lazers near spongebob's eyes. I was just trying to draw him with lazers coming out of his eyes but then my sister thought they were flying into his eyes.
And then after that it was history. I scrawled nonsense and included a stick figure Yoriichi.
I then sent it to my other sibling and well their interpretation was something I didn't fathom. It's in that text screenshot.
The funniest thing is since she's not caught up she thought that it was older Tanjiro and Inosuke for whatever reason (it actually could work though). Legit had me dying over her interpretation. It was so off from what I intended. Then she guessed Muzan and Yoriichi.
It was supposed to be Yoriichi using fire love breath powers to cleanse Kokushibo's feral loyalty to Muzan and his malicious behavior. I guess Yoriichi ghosted in as a ghost.
What have I done...🤦🏽‍♀️

Hi! Do you think you can take a Lee Yoriichi, Ler Uta? (Any Au where Uta hasn't died or when they were still alive)
Yorichi and Uta deserved to have a better ending than that. So, I used one where Uta is still alive because Yorichi arrived in time to save her.
Tumblr media
Ler: Uta
Lee: Yoriichi Tsugikuni
'Yoriichi-san! Huh?', Uta frowned.
'Yorichi!' 'Tell me?'
'You promised me you would sleep! You arrived very tired today! You could barely keep your eyes open!', was she exaggerating? It is probable
'I will, after a moment'
'Of course not! You're going to sleep right now!'
'Shhh, Uta, the baby', Uta lowered her voice but still glared at Yoriichi.
She could understand Yoriichi wanting to spend time with his son, but he also had to rest.
'Yoriichi...', she whispered, getting no response.
Uta sighed and sat down behind Yoriichi, digging her fingers into Yoriichi's side and ribs, who covered his mouth trying not to laugh so as not to wake the baby.
'Hey hey Yoriichi - San, why don't you laugh? I know you're ticklish, don't resist', Uta didn't remove her fingers, on the contrary, she placed more force on them in order to make
Yoriichi remove his hand from his mouth. 'Uhuhutahaha! Hehehe! The bahahahaby!'
'The baby will wake up upset because his father didn't want to sleep, come on Yoriichi, are you ready to sleep? Or do you want me to continue?'
Yoriichi didn't answer, just turned around and hugged Uta.
'H-Huh? Yoriichi - San?', Uta sighed and then smiled, stroking Yoriichi's hair as he slowly fell asleep in her lap.

movement six
(Name) ran up the steps toward the Kamado household. Her frail legs carrying her body in the wind as she hurriedly made her way up the stairs. She heard that Suyako was already giving birth to her baby and apparently, Yorichi also came by after many months of his absence. (Name), of course, was ecstatic when she heard the news.
The girl reached the top of the stair and caught her breath. She could hear nothing, it was quiet so she assumed Suyako had already given birth to her child. She jogged to the side to reach the garden but Yorichi appeard right in front of her, "Ah!"
He caught her by the shoulders before she could barreled straight toward him. He let go, "(Lastname)..."
"Tsugikuni-san!" She beamed, her cheeks tinting into a color pink, "It's been months! How are you?"
"I'm good...Suyako had already given birth. The child is a boy." He said and she smiled at him, "I was about to leave."
She blinked and looked at him shocked, "E-Eh! But you just arrived!"
He nodded, "I do not want to take the Kamado's hospitality for granted."
Her lips parted and he turned away to leave, she quickly caught his wrist and he turned around, expecting her to say something. She didn't let go of him.
"Tsugikuni-san, please stay with me for a while..." She softly said, her head down and cheeks turning red, "I.."
She couldn't say it but to get him to stay for a bit, she has to say it.
"I missed you..." She said, barely above a whisper but thankfully, he heard it and she let go of his wrist. (Name) mustered up the last of her bravery to look up at him, clenching her hands on her sides, "Y-You told me that destiny will decide if we must meet again...! I believe this is why i ran into you just now..! To spend time with you!"
"But you're here to visit the baby." He said and she puffed her cheeks.
"Uhm, I-I can drop by later but if you're going to leave now, at least spend a few hours here...with me." She said shyly. She hit herself, she sounded like a demanding child. Yorichi looked at her concerned.
In the end, Yorichi did go with (Name) to town but he had said that he will leave before it gets dark. He also didn't want to take her kindness for granted. The two caught eyes of people as they walked along the dirt path, most especially Yorichi. He would notice that people would stare at him in awe or suspicion. Some brave souls tried to greet (Name) whilst greeting him in the process. (Name) seemed to be loved by the people in the village.
"Tsugikuni-san, why do you always leave when you always come here to see the Kamados?" An innocent question. (Name) looked up at him with her pretty (e/c) eyes. He blinked.
"I just like visiting them when I'm close by. I cannot stay in one place because there are demons lurking all over the place. I wouldn't be able to protect anyone if I stay here..." He said quietly, "(Name), if you think something or someone is important and you want to protect it, you make do. "
She warmly smiled at him and tugged on to his sleeve, "You always say inspiring things."
They both stopped to eat a udon store. Yorichi didn't really have money so (Name) insisted she pays for the two of them. They both ate quietly and the girl felt like they were on a date. She shook her head, getting rid of the foolish thought then was surprised when Yorichi put some of his meat cuts on her own bowl.
"E-Eh? Tsugikuni-san, you'll need the meat to gain energy and protein...!" She said, returning them to him but he returned it back to her, and she returned it back to him but he returned it back to her before she could even place it on his bowl. People stared at their antics, "Uh..."
"This is the only way I can repay your kindness towards me." He said, putting back the meat into her bowl. She stared at him, "Thank you. The noodles and vegetables are enough. The meat is the most expensive one in this bowl...it's only right you have it."
She turned red and grew flustered. She ate the udon quickly, she nearly choked. Yorichi handed her a cup of tea.
After that, as Yorichi had promised, he went his way to slay demons. (Name) was escorting him until they reached the entrance of the village. He turned around and gave a polite bow. The girl spoke when he raised his head, "It's so unfair... you leave for so long but stay for a minute."
He place a hand on her head, patting her locks softly. She looked up at him, blushing. He didn't say anything though. Yorichi pulled his hand away. She was waiting for him to say something but he didn't.
The mysterious samurai simply turned his back and walked away and there (Name) realized that he seemed so lonely. He always walked alone and for how long" That she doesn't know. She helplessly watched his broad back as it slowly shrunk and became part of the horizon ahead, his silhouette disappearing out of view.
(Name) placed her hands over her beating heart.
She was helplessly in love with a man whose name and occupation is the only thing she knows.
a/n opp-- sorry for the short chapter. however, I decided I would update this daily starting tomorrow because this only has...uhm, four chapters left. yes, it's only until chapter ten. I meant for this to be a drabble-sort of thing or oneshot but I was surprised the readers for this,,,increased so yeah hahah the reason it was supposed to be just a one shot thingy bc I have nooo absolute idea how yoriichi flirts but look at me, im at chap six still with the sa,e yori from chap one *shrugs*
ill be writing a new book but if you have requests, I MAY OR MAY NOT answer them,, haha im the kind of author that gets unmotivated when being told to do something,,, I was thinking of doing a michikatsu tsugikuni one shot but uhhh will that sell?
aaa future books r going to be hypmic related,, if there are hypmic fans out here, and maybe a bungo stray dogs one if I don't get stuck writing ranpo's character again
. well that's all! please look forward to the last few chapters itll be fun :D

Hi can request a not-yandere Yoriichi X Dying! Reader? Reader got a terrible illness that basically has no cure and they lay in bed losing all motivation to do anything while the illness slowly takes away their life. When Yorichi came to visit them again, they were gone and there was only an empty bed. (means they are already gone/dead.)
(A bit about Yoriichi and reader's past, reader is one of Yoriichi and Michikatsu/kokushibo's childhood friend and was friend with them until reader dies, reader was always there for Yoriichi whenever he is in a rough time/shape and always comforts him like when his mom died, Uta and his unborn child died, Michikatsu gone and more. Yoriichi fell in love with reader a few months after Uta died but never confessed. Reader got their ill a few months after Michikatsu became a demon.)
Aaah! That’s sooooo sad! Why Yoriichi, he doesn’t deserve more pain! But okay, okay. I’ll write this as I cry
Tsugikuni Yoriichi- Terminal Heartbreak
Tumblr media
The only thing Yoriichi could lay his eyes on was a empty, hollow futon with the blankets flipped back. The house the futon belonged in was just as dull and lifeless. It broke his soul as he slowly approached the futon, kneeling down and sitting on his knees before it. He just stared down at the creased cooling fabric as his eyes swelled in tears, unable to keep himself composed any longer
First his beloved mother disappeared from his life, his incredible wife and unborn child was taken away, his brother abanonded his humanity to turn to the darkness and now, you can’t even be here for him to say goodbye to… why was this world so cruel to him? You were with him from the very beginning, even as childhood
You weren’t necessarily either of the Tsugikuni Twins’ assigned bride. No, your parents are extremely wealthy and have been business partners with the Tsugikuni family before you were even born. Throughout most of your childhood, you were pretty healthy and kicking but then. Tragically, you contracted a strange disease your hysterical parents couldn’t find the cure for and you were truly dissipating each day. It got so bad that it drifted your past closeness with the Tsugikuni Twins
Michikatsu was furious, you couldn’t play with him and Yoriichi like you use to. You were basically useless in this state and it drove him away whilst Yoriichi stayed. He never left, he never walked away. He sat besides you and did everything he possibly could for you, as he grew up, he was determined to try find… something to help you. Every disease has a cure, they’re must be a cure! Yoriichi always told himself before he tucked you into bed and left the house to continue his fruitless search
In exchange, you adored Yoriichi. He wasn’t that rotten selfish anomaly Michikatsu made him out to be, he was a pure loving man with a golden heart and your view never changed, despite how bad your condition grew. Even though you could barely walk, you always got up to be besides Yoriichi, you basically crawled your way to him when he founded the Demon Slayer Corps and you were there to defend him when he ran into Kibutsuji Muzan but failed to dispose of him
Yoriichi, despite being married to the lovely woman Uta, felt himself falling deep in love with you. It was wrong, he knew it. Especially since he lost Uta and his unborn child only a few months ago, but he can’t help himself. You were one of the first people who ever truly loved Yoriichi, and the fact that you’re gone now hurts his soul tremendously. He can’t do anything to save you, he always did everything right… on his first try!
Yoriichi always suffered and suffered and suffered, and for what did he suffer for? Everything he loved in his life is taken away from him and it’s growing unbearable, is he really suppose to be with anybody? Illness takes away all the people he devotes his life too. It seems that he is a plague among people and anybody who associates with him will end up dead or immoral
Yoriichi stared at the empty futon silently, his calloused fists curled up on his own thighs as his kind screamed at the outrage. Why couldn’t he save you? Your sickness ruined your life and it took away your will to continue forward with genuinely living, to do anything as you laid down and stared blankly. Yoriichi could tell how much you struggled and his heart broke for you over and over
If he could, he’d trade places with you. He’d happily die for you so you could walk and run outside freely with no problems. He’d be livid to give you the freedom of perfect health again… but he just can’t. Yoriichi gave up on medley hopping you’d return back to your home, anytime you came out, he was by your side and helping you. He left for a few hours and your gone, nobody has helped you. He doesn’t know where you could have gone
Yoriichi does want to look for you, you could still be alive somewhere but then again. You could have taken the easy way out when his back was turned, to get away from all the pain your illness tortures you will. He wouldn’t be able to stop it if he wasn’t around and that could be the case as he gently grabs the futon blanket, lifting it to his chest whilst tears poured down his defined cheeks
He couldn’t keep himself together any longer as he cried, his head dropped down to brush over the blanket as his heart shattered before him. Yoriichi fell into a deep slumber by the futon, he cried himself to exhaustion as his emotions were truly haywire now. It was too early. You left him too early… he never even got the chance to tell you…
That he loves you

Can you explain yorichi and tanjiro ancestors names? Im sorry if I accidentally missed it in your kny names analysis
Yoriichi is already covered in Kokushibou’s section. Tsugikuni meaning “suceeding country” because he passed down old Japanese flag earrings to the next generation and Yoriichi meaning “fated one” because he’s the dude who started it all for the Demon Slayers.
Sumiyoshi means “charcoal luck” because the Kamado family sells charcoal. Check Tanjirou’s name for more on that. Anyways, unlike 95% of the Kimetsu names, Sumiyoshi is an actual name normal people use, so I guess the luck part doesn’t mean anything and Gotouge because just chose because they found a real name with the charcoal kanji in it.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Chapter 174 Review
youtube
This is the greatest chance of the Pillars’ life. This is possibly the only shot they have left to kill Kokushibo. However, it wasn’t the first time that a chance went unfulfilled. The last time it occurred was 400 years ago. In the most heated moment, right before the end result of do or die scenario, a backstory was unfolded in this compelling chapter.
The last chapter left the fans unnerved with the chance of a lifetime from Genya taking a shot at Kokushibo. The wait is over and the end result is fortunately not only pleasing but gratifying. The last panel left me believing Kokushibo has deflected the bullets and Genya’s opportunity has gone in vain. It sounds like an unnecessary cliffhanger note, but that’s where the twist comes in. The bullets enter Kokushibo’s body despite the deflection. It’s not enough, but simply harming him was never the intention.
Genya has developed Blood Demon Art and form a tree to entrap Kokushibo. This is a great way to demonstrate his growth after consuming his flesh. The last chapter almost made me believe that he only repair his gun and nothing else. This changed the thought for the best. It made sense for him to develop Blood Demon Art as well as pull a similar trick as Kokushibo; combining a weapon with a demon flesh. Basically, Genya has created special bullets and by God, he deserves MVP if they win from this.
This leads to the greatest chance yet to defeat Kokushibo; all ready to cut him down for good. It’s highly anticipating; like knowing one more hit will defeat the final boss in a video game. Sometimes, I like to be wrong on predictions that can be easily predicted and result in low standard outcome. However, I like to believe that I’m not overthinking on certain aspect, like the writer and I are in the same page. Case in point, Kokushibo’s train of thought.
Throughout the battle, he hardly thinks anything negative, including a chance of losing. It is now that he acknowledge his feelings have grown into fear; something that disturbs him greatly. In other words, it was the writer’s intention to have his mind filled with positivity or rather, calm and unthreatened. This chapter is where his mind began to lose composure. That’s when you know the Pillars finally have advantage point and it’s satisfying. Once they kill him, we can throw a parade. Sadly, we may have to wait for a while, because it’s time for a backstory. With that said, it’s a really interesting one.
It takes place 400 years ago; the last moment of feeling any left of humanity. It’s been 60 years in that Kokushibo has roam around as a demon. It’s at this moment where he stumbled upon his younger brother, Yorichi Tsugikuni, the Breath of the Sun user, as an old man. Translation, the Sun and Moon brothers. Many have speculated that they must be related due to their design. Some fans, including myself, once believed Upper Moon 1 was the Sun Breather with the Mark. This detail explained the familiar design (hair style, traditional clothing) as well as the contrast, Sun and Moon.
Yorichi’s age is worth mentioning. Kokushibo already explained the Mark will kill the user before passing 25, yet his brother was alive and old at the time. To be precise, he’s well over 80 years. Perhaps this is who Himejima was referring to earlier. It would explain why Kokushibo had a stirring feeling when it was mentioned. It’s likely since the Breath of the Sun is a lineage that one can read upon history. This could mean Tanjiro can survive if he were to inherit before the age of 25. The question is, how?
Yorichi said his final words to his brother, “My sympathies…my brother.” Small words felt so strong with additional tears to the mix; a bit emotional if you ask me. Interesting that this left Kokushibo confused. He reflects the uncharacteristic of his brother to draw any emotion. Based on his memory, he never shown emotion; had no such connection to show compassion. It has me wondering about his personality; what state he was prior to his final day. Was he distant to everyone? Was he hiding his feelings until this moment? So many questions, and it’s not covering the aspect of his power, which shows in the next scene.
Yorichi prepared to draw his sword; more of a norm to his character. That’s kind of sad when you think about it. I was ready to see an equal battle between the brothers, but what follows up shocked me. It was no equal battle; it’s downright one-sided. It’s not even a battle; it’s one slash defeat. Granted, Kokushibo remain alive, but he already gave in the thought that his time was here. That’s incredible. We have seen in the present where it takes 4 Pillars to slay him, but when it comes to his brother, it would have taken two without a struggle. What’s worse is his brother was well past his prime. That’s how you convinced the fans how incredible a powerful character can be without resorting to shoving or go big on explosion.
While it showcase the amazing Yorichi, it also expose the true color of Kokushibo. He was envious of his brother. His brother was treated and seen like a gifted man; a second coming if you may call him. The fact he lived through passed age 80 with the Mark is already telling enough. Come to think of it, this would explain Kokushibo’s “interest” when he met with Kaigaku. They shared a similar superior complex, though with Kaigaku, it’s more of treated equal with the so-called inferior. It could be a coincidence, but who knows. As noted earlier, Kokushibo was ready to die, but his brother died as he remain standing. Left before ending his brother. What a great panel shot with a strong narration.
It’s quite a sad moment. Yorichi died of old age, right before he finished the job. Have he had one ounce of life in him to complete, the event today would have never happened. Yesterday’s problem became today’s nightmare. Crazy or not, this feels like blessing in disguise however. At the very least, he didn’t have to kill his brother, who he has shown empathy. We don’t know much of their history, but perhaps in due time. Sure, killing him there would set him free, but it’s still tragic nonetheless.
This was a really interesting chapter that answered some questions, but hopefully receive more. The beginning was compelling with the chance of a lifetime to defeat Upper Moon 1 with a satisfying outcome from the last chapter’s cliffhanger. The backstory was interesting and sad. It finally made clear on questionable designs and characteristics, as well as establishing Kokushibo’s old feelings of envy. The last page was great. Where do we go from here? Hard to say. It is 400 years late, but hopefully, the Pillars can finish where Yorichi left off.
