Confession: Inosuke is my KnY child (and Tanjiro, too); but THE YORIICHI TYPE ZERO IS MY ASDFGHJKL. I hope the keyboard smash was explicative enough of the deep, profound feels the karakuri evokes in me.
I ADORE him.
It?
Him.
And then on the right we have the ever beautiful Hyakkimaru ♥ , from the anime Dororo.
Yoriichi was constructed during the Sengoku period (1477 - 1573), and guess what, Hyakkimaru also comes from that era (techincally his story takes place in the middle of the Muromachi Period, during the 1470s after the Wars of Onin and Bunmei, but don't quote me on this copy-paste).
SO THEY TOTALLY COUL'VE MET.
AND FOUGHT.
In this TED talk I will---

"This doll is modeled after an actual swordman. They had to give it six arms, or they couldn't replicate his movements."

what if Yoriichi gets jealous because his s/o being flirt by other man? like, how would he react?😃
Oooooo. I've already written the opposite scenario, so it'll be interesting to see how things are from the other way around. I think I'm going to do this one in a headcanon format! I hope that works for ya~
Yoriichi as a Jealous S/O
Tumblr media
To begin with, he wouldn't vocalize his jealousy at all. His S/O would only be able to tell he's jealous by the way he stares daggers at the other man and acts cold whenever he's brought up
It depends how assertively the man flirts. If it's ambiguous whether he's actually flirting or just being friendly, Yoriichi would let him off the hook. However, if the other man straight up hit on his S/O, he would show a shade of possessiveness by stepping in and telling the man, firmly, to never hit on them again
Generally Yoriichi controls his emotions quite well, but jealousy is one he would struggle with. His S/O would be able to tell something is off by his body language, how he shuts off at the mere mention of this other man. Then, if his S/O confronted him about it, he'd come clean about his feelings, admitting that he simply cannot stand the thought of S/O being with anyone else and he's battling these emotions every day
He would feel some guilt about his jealousy, as it makes it seem like he doesn't trust his S/O. He would reassure his S/O that he completely trusts them to be faithful, but he simply doesn't trust the man to not put his S/O in uncomfortable situations by trying to make a move on them
He would have frequent intrusive thoughts about his S/O cheating on him for this other man, and that would be what bothers him most. The idea of his S/O actually betraying his trust like that. The sheer thought of it would have him falling to the ground and folding in two, clutching at his chest. He would only be able to console himself by doing about the only thing that'd bring his mind tranquility, which is practicing his swordfighting in his garden and focusing on his breathing
If things went on long enough, he would one day tell his S/O the truth about how the other man makes him feel. It would happen quite randomly; as he and his S/O enjoy a cup of green tea together, he would tell them everything. He was usually so quiet, but he wouldn't be able to bottle his emotions up forever, so he would tell them, relaxed, without leaking an ounce of actual emotion, simply laying down the facts so that his S/O knows where his head is at
Despite how much he dislikes his S/O's relationship with this flirty other man, he wouldn't dissuade his S/O from being friends with him as he recognizes that'd be a controlling move and he doesn't want his S/O to lose out on any friends just because he's unable to control his jealousy
He'd mostly blame himself for his jealousy. However, if the man ever tried to make a move on his S/O, Yoriichi would definitely step in and scorn the man for trying to take someone who's already in a relationship, as this is a very dishonorable move and Yoriichi is all about honor. In fact, I think that's one of the things that'd bother him most of all, that the idea of someone trying to take his S/O is so dishonorable and sneaky that it makes him feel sick
Ultimately, Yoriichi would get jealous and it would hurt him, but with good communication between him and his S/O, they could work through it as his trust and devotion for his S/O would be far beyond his feelings of envy. That being said, he would step in and behave possessively if someone tried it on with his S/O ----- I hope this was a good interpretation of the situation, anon! I think Yoriichi is a really kind and reasonable man who wouldn't want to cause too much trouble for his partner, even if he was going through intense bouts of jealousy. I'm confident that he'd be committed to working things out, too. Thank you for the ask! <3

//Response to this by @sunsblaze
The night seemed uneventful, or so Shinjuro hoped. At Shinobu’s request, or rather, her demand, he’d been sent to the sword smith village to detox, something the master had approved of as well.
The image of Senjuro’s sad face as he was left at the butterfly estate was burned into his mind, but, he was doing this for the boy as well.
He’d taken a different route this time on his way back from the hot springs - walking about at night was something he had always discouraged, even in a village such as this where it was peaceful, but for some reason, the urge to do something he considered unspeakable took over.
His sword was tucked into the the belt of his kimono, the once dull blade had been returned to its former glory, though he found himself ready to draw it out once he heard the click.
He decided to investigate, following the direction in which the sound came from. The darkness obscured his vision as he caught sight of the figure crouched down.
“Hello? Are you okay?” He called out, inching closer, his eyes growing wide when he the doll came into view, along with those earrings.

Yoriichi Type Zero
Tumblr media
Oneshot/Short Story: Yoriichi finally having eyes on our ball of sunshine, also known as Tanjiro, but in an unexpected way.
Warnings: None!
Word count: 950 words
Tumblr media
He was in a genuinely odd situation. His eyes stayed closed, and he dared not to move from his current place, which felt like uneven dirt and freshly cut grass to him. He sits with his legs folded and his hands on his thighs, still pondering about everything.
He was dead, and he recalled the last thing he saw, which was his brother. He remembered seeing his six eyes gazing at him with dread and hatred. And now? The area around him was serene, and the air gradually began to feel damp as though it could start to rain soon.
Even the sound of approaching footsteps did not cause him to move. He did, however, peek one eye open and spotted a young man approaching with a careless and bored expression on his face. He wears a loose uniform and carries a sword in his belt. He slowly approaches the sitting man, letting his long hair softly sway in the little breeze with his own. Even though he still couldn't tell where he had ended up, he makes an effort to get up from his current spot, but his body won't move no matter how hard he tries.
Thoughts fly through his head as the younger male grips a key in his smaller hands. He wasn't afraid; rather, he was confused.
What was going on? How did he get here if he died before?
The kid slips the key beneath his clothing in his upper back, and as soon as he hears a click, his body no longer feels as restricted as it did before. His gaze rises slightly, giving the impression that he is gazing forward, and he feels his fingers twitch against his legs as his back straightens. The trees were scarcely waving against the mild breeze, which was gradually fading. He lowers his head to look at his own body. It wasn't the wooden feel of his skin that surprised him; it was the fact that he had six arms.
It seemed as if he were a giant wooden doll, and the fact that the same male teenager from earlier drew out his sword didn't help matters. He stands not far away from the kid, staring at him who, strangely, reminds him of himself and his twin when they were children.
The man was Yoriichi Tsugikuni, and he was imprisoned within a wooden doll designed to look just like him.
He didn't flinch as the teen lunged at him with his katana in hand, aiming to swing it at the doll's face. Although Yoriichi now has complete control over his new body, this does not mean that he will attack the boy in return. He opens one of his hands, allowing the blade to fall to the ground, and effortlessly catches the blade. The boy was confused and stunned. This was meant to be a training dummy, but it moved as if it were trying to stop him rather than fighting back.
The boy attempts to back away, but finds it difficult due to the giant doll's firm hold. Yoriichi looks down at him while he struggles, and after a while, he finally lets go of his grasp. The boy is standing there, gazing into the doll's eyes.
“You stole my key for this!?”
The boy didn't take his gaze away from Yoriichi, but the doll gradually moves his head to the left, where he sees two figures standing by vast trees. His maroon eyes, on the other hand, were fixed on one person.
He recognizes such features from anywhere. The sight of this young boy reminded him of his old friend Sumiyoshi. He was the only one he could vent to because he didn't talk to many people he knew previously. His parents had died, he had been banned from the Demon Slayer Corps, and his brother was a demon at the time. Other than Sumiyoshi, he had no one else to turn to.
The Kamado boy, on the other hand, can't seem to tear his gaze away from the doll. It seems familiar to him in more ways than one. Additionally, he believes to have seen him previously, though he is uncertain of when. Tanjiro grew concerned as the wooden doll stared directly into his crimson eyes, so he cautiously began to move to the side. When he notices the doll's eyes tracking his every move as if he were a real person, he is helpless to stop his heart from racing.
His stare seemed oddly warm, like though they were lying in the summer sun.
Yoriichi approaches the boy, dropping each blade along the way. He extends one arm, hovering it above the side of his jaw, then raises another to caress the other side of his face.
Tanjiro is paralyzed. He doesn't even want to move. Why is he refusing to move?
Yoriichi inhales deeply, attempting to speak even though it wouldn't make sense for him to do so given that he is merely a doll. He may be exerting too much strain on himself, but he tightens his grasp on Tanjiro.
"Kamado."
He spoke calmly and carefully, which let Tanjiro feel at ease. While Yoriichi's situation is still peculiar, and he has no idea how he got here, he doesn't mind too much. He felt much better seeing this young boy with his earrings. He could sense the boy's passion and strength. He was able to sense the warmth this child still had to develop and store. He can sense the boy's utter need for something.
Who knows how long he'll be here, but if he's going to be here for a while, he might as well spend it with the sun.

Something has been plaguing my mind for some time. People on TikTok are suddenly claiming that the sword inside Yoriichi Zeroshiki belonged to Michikatsu. When I asked for proof, one person said I should read the light novel. I skimmed through the light novel and there isn’t anything on the sword.. only about Muichiro helping Kotetsu repair Yoriichi Zeroshiki. I even skimmed through the manga and Michikatsu’s sword looks nothing like the one inside the doll. The hilt resembled that of Yoriichi - it was rectangular. However, in the same chapter of the manga (ch. 178) we get a glimpse of Yoriichi training another slayer (presumably a Hashira) whose blade is actually circular and resembles the one that Tanjirou and Kotetsu found inside the doll. It’s been some time since I last read the manga so my memory’s pretty rusty, but it’s never been stated who the sword inside the doll belonged to, right? I need answers😭
