Driving Mr Tovar (series) - @sirowsky (Pero Tovar x F!Reader)

When I read the original series, I turned into that crazed fan that sent the author songs that reminded me of her fic. Luckily the lovely author humoured me and we are still friends today. She's currently updating the series and the updated version is EVEN better than the original (I'm halfway through the reread of Chapter 1). Pero Tovar doesn't let anyone into his life, least of all his new driver. But he has no idea who he's up against and how his life will change. Perfect holiday escapism right here.

Queen of Poisons (series) - @artemiseamoon (Ezra x F!OFC)

Arte's Ezra and fantastic OFC Nyx has been living completely rent-free in my brain since I first inhaled the series months ago. The push and pull between these two is delicious and her heroine is a deeply nuanced badass who doesn't stand back when faced with danger. If you like supernatural worlds and strong female protagonists, you will love this.

Flowers for Ishtar (series) - Beskarberry (Din Djarin x F!Reader)

I already screamed at the author like an unhinged banshee, but this was one of the most fantastical, wild series I have ever read. Non-human!Mando and F!Reader have a solid partnership until he starts acting very weird. Please, for the love of the reptilian spacepope, read the extensive and detailed warnings, because this won't be for everyone. But if you do proceed - it's funny, magical, soft, sexy, unhinged and brilliant science-fiction fantasy with our favourite buckethead.

My only wish (series) - @foli-vora (Jack Daniels x F!Reader)

Come get your fluffy, sweet Christmas goodness here! Jack Daniels grinches his way into a a situation he never thought he's find himself in. Special appearance by a hilarious little menace who forces Jack and Reader's hand as subtly as a sledgehammer. Treat yo'self.

Unnamed (one-shot) - @juletheghoul (Frankie Morales x F!Reader Siren)

Jules' short and utterly *beautifully* devastating story about Frankie and a Siren will haunt you in more ways than one. It's the kind of story that you think about at 2am when you can't sleep.

Make a cup of tea, settle under a fleece blanket and let Rae transport you to a magical world where you can forget about all the madness and real world problems. An Evening with Monsters (series)- @clydesducktape (Triple Frontier boys in individual stores x F!Reader)

Kinktober hit different this year with this delicious line-up of monsters - the Triple Frontier boys are an absolute feast in this series. Thia is an incredibly talented writer, it might not be Halloween anymore, but you'll be yearning for these boys anyway.

OH MAN THE HIIAI BRAINROTS… where do i even begin?!?! hiiro and aira are just VITAL to each other, it’s incredibly hard to talk about either of their characters without describing how much the other’s influence has impacted them, or how much they’ve supported each other and grown together… for aira, hiiro is one of the few people he’s able to lower his guard around without falling back to his people-pleasing habits or forcing himself to be nicer to people because he places so much trust and care onto hiiro… the relationship between the two of them is special because of the time they’ve spent with each other… it’s just, the relationship they share with each other is unique to them

in a sense, they’re also opposites in that the very thing that the other naturally excels in is what they wish they had. like for aira, he really envies hiiro’s natural talent and ability to pick up things easily as someone who’s not naturally gifted in that sense… and for hiiro, he admires aira’s enthusiasm and love for idols, his never-ending creativity… in a sense, it’s this mutual jealousy that eats them up at the core of their character but because they parallel each other in that way, they’re also just. that much stronger together? because they truly love each other and want to support each other… it’s sweet, seeing their relationship blossom into something more akin to a friendly rivalry as they’ve been through so much together that they trust each other wholeheartedly

i’m not wording this well & there’s so much more i could say about them but my phone battery is about to die uhm I LOVE THEM… a lot….. always have since i learned about them basically hghfhh nowadays it’s more like a brainrot that wakes up at the most unexpected times like right now

umm okay!!! seeing as how i've been watching a ton of it lately number one is yellowjackets!! i've never seen it before and it's honestly super cool, i really love horror and psychological horror especially, and the body horror is fucking peak so far i love how they're not afraid to show really gross shit and i love it OwO and ofc the blatant gay is always nice too =w=)

number 2 is chloe moriondo!!! i hung the poster i got at her show in november above my bed so every morning i get to wake up and see that i'm both capable of and allowed to go do fun shit for myself!!! on top of her being an incredibly talented performer and musician she means a lot to me and has kinda become the icon of this phase of my mental health recovery and that makes me so happy!!!!

number 3 is cooking!!! i've been trying to make a concerted effort to cook more for my family, and while part of it is a lil scary because i'm still kinda new to it, i'm learning a lot and i feel like i'm practicing for when i'm able to get a place of my own!! meals in seattle were often kinda subsistence only and i didn't have the opportunity to experiment, but now that i have proper ingredients and a stove that i can actually use it's so much fun!!! last night i made this gnocchi dish with crumbled sweet italian sausage and broccoli and swiss chard and a ton of parmesan cheese and it came out so great holy shit, i had leftovers for lunch >w<

number 4 is my dear friend and snugabug companion whose name has been withheld for privacy reasons UwU

i love how steve’s first impression of her acknowledges her naivety – how scared she was, how easily she falls for his dramatics and believes him – but also how lovely she is, not only in her beauty but kind enough to offer a place for a total stranger

There's a golden tinge to everything at this time that leaves no inch of his person unscathed; his eyes glow with it, his irises a melting brown that reminds you of rare, thick honey.

He winces at the reminder of your cruel mother. He feels cruel himself, suddenly, for scaring you on purpose as your mother likely does, for being another member of the opposition in your life. All you want is to see the Princess' lanterns, so much so you've hidden under your bed and painted their colours painstakingly onto each slat of supporting wood. A hidden wish, and one you'd deigned to share with him. He starts to think, Maybe I should just take her. How much could it possibly cost me? 

But Steve's from nothing. He was born from nothing, he grew up with nothing. He is, in the grand scheme of the universe and its many, many stars, nothing. Another orphaned boy destined to waste his life stealing coppers from coin purses and sleeping in doorways. 

The sooner he gets that tiara, the better. No more sleeping outside. No more staring up at the wine dark sky and wondering if any of those blistering stars can hear him. 

If they can, they aren't listening. 

baby. that whole part was SO FREAKIN GOOD. i don’t even know what to say. steve feeling guilty for acting cruel and immediately associating himself with her mother?? steve’s SO observant. I know it’s kind of obvious for us how cruel her mother is but i don’t think it’s something any of the characters would be able to pick up easily, specially cause she herself doesn’t see it and never talks about her mother in that way. but steve’s so attentive (like paying attention to her trembling hands holding a frying pan in a first glance!!) and he reads her so easily.

the “but Steve’s from nothing. He was born from nothing, he grew up with nothing. He is, in the grand scheme of the universe and its many, many stars, nothing.” and “If they can, they aren’t listening” bits BROKE ME.

another thing that completely broke me was the way her mom’s soft touches, warm water and literally every ounce of affection is directed to her hair :(

He feels the tension like fog over the kingdom waters in summer, when the heat is tangible and the nights are short. You look so soft in your clothes. Outside of them, Steve can only imagine.

Everything you know about men has come from Mother or books. Mother claims them to be evil in their entirety. Lu <3 your commentaries and thoughts after writing a fic is the best part for me seriously, seeing what you thought is always so special and fun, and this time is no exception!

I feel a little like we live our lives in this electronic age (yikes) on autopilot, and when it’s just you and steve alone, there’s a lot of space for noticing one another and the world around you! Steve is def super vigilant in this one of people and how they use their emotion, like Flynn in the film and how he uses rapunzels emotions against her (unsuccessfully) to try and get her to go home! I’m glad he felt funny too because that’s a flynn trait AND of course a steve trait through and through.

I knew straight away that I wanted to really focus on stars because I think that misconception in the movie is so cute, and Steve’s orphan back story, and his looking to the stars for answers! this fic was originally called little star, because I want the reader to be his star by the time we’re finished so I’m gonna drag these metaphors into the dirt until everybody’s sick of me! Thank you very much for reading as always and for compiling all of this I know it takes time and it really is such a dream for me, I get to sit here and fangirl at all of the things you picked up on!
