I'm just so excited for this fic. I wish I could just sit down and write it all at once but its becoming quite the long fic 🫣 and unfortunately I also have to adult and take care of myself 😫. Two chapters a week is my goal but if I know anything about myself, I'm either going to exceed that goal or I'm going to fail it lmao hard to tell right now. You woke up to the sound of keys jingling in the door. You were still drowsy, but whoever was trying to open your door was about to get kicked, and hard.

You quickly stood up and grabbed an umbrella, running to the door. Your heart was pounding. Who the hell could that be? You looked at your phone and saw it was 10:30. You assumed someone was trying to break in and you were about to go ham.

When the door finally swung open, you popped open the umbrella, hoping that it would scare the intruder. But instead, whoever it was just moved down the umbrella, making you sigh.

“Are you for real, Kei? You scared the shit outta me.” You dropped the umbrella and Ukai apologized, pulling you into his arms.

“I could’ve sworn I sent you a message telling you I was on my way home.”

You looked down at your phone and felt like an idiot. You had put it on ‘do not disturb’.

“Sorry,” you said, rubbing the back of your neck. “I mean I should’ve assumed it was you because of the keys. I just woke up though.”

Ukai just smiled at you softly and turned on the light in the living room. “Sorry I scared you. But at least I know now that you and your umbrella are prepared for any intruders.”

You giggled and grabbed the grocery bags that Ukai was holding. “I would’ve been more prepared if I wasn't so drowsy. So thank god it was you.”

You looked in the grocery bags and pulled out your favorite treat, looking at him with bright eyes. “Did you get these for me?”

“Yeah,” he said, pressing a kiss onto your cheek. “I was shopping as I always do and those made me think of you, so I grabbed them. I was having a stressful day and just wanted to see you smile.”

You beamed at him and jumped into his arms. “Kei, you’re the best, you know that?!”

“Oh, I don't know about the best.” He wrapped his arms around you and led you to the couch, where you landed on his chest.

“Shut up and let me be nice to you for five seconds.”

“Fine, fine.” He put up his arms in defense and giggled as you pressed kisses all over his face.

You jumped off of him and grabbed the groceries. “I'm gonna put these away. I expect you in our bed and in your pajamas by the time I get up there.”

He saluted at you and ran up the stairs as fast as he could. You loved him, even if he scared the shit out of you.
