Ben’s new design is so funny, mainly because of all the jokes about his height.

But like have you seen his dog (ankylosaurus)? I would also be a big, beefy boy If I was taking care of a “dog” (and any of the other dinosaurs) for the past 6-7 years that ranged in weight of 4.8 to 8 metric tons.

Gem’s bloodlust is genuinely scary and unsettling and I adore it and her so much

… I hit tag limit on this and I’m not even close to done spilling my thoughts in the tags so I’m going to post so I can copy my tags into real text and keep writing them

#I can’t imagine facing her as one of the uninfected when she’s got my heart rate up just watching from her perspective #she’s a hunter #I’ve written something before about how she talks about murder in the same excited tone as cute decorations #and people sometimes underestimate her because of it despite her reputation as a good fighter #but she’s not a fighter she’s a predator #she’s a hunter and even watching from her perspective sometimes it feels like she’s hunting me #she’s hunting All #and it’s exciting and fun for her #and she needs her pack to some extent but when it gets too big she needs to split off again #idk what’s going on in these tags it’s just. hnnghhh. Red Gem #or even before she went red #just bloodthirsty predator gem reveling in the thrill of the hunt #it’s not nearly as much fun on your own but once you’ve killed a couple people to your side and have the numbers to terrify people #you can do that. you can circle around your prey and corner them and terrify them before you kill them #and it feels like power and it feels like a game and it feels like fun #because it’s not life or death it’s success or failure #but maybe everything is a game to a creature like gem who hops between worlds at will #what if she could leave secret life at any time #like she could hop between empires and hermitcraft at any time #if she can leave then she really is just there to have a chance to enjoy the hunt in a setting where it’s expected #encouraged even #death games as a way to satisfy her bloodlust so it doesn’t spill over someplace where it might Actually Hurt #death games to take the edge off #death games to get a chance to reveal the fangs behind her grin and the sharp points of her antlers #we call her a deer because that’s the closest thing our minds can connect to her appearance #but she’s always been a little too Other for that #oh and now the Void has taken root in her too #it’s claimed her eye and arm #maybe it helped guide her aim #or maybe she’s always been a creature of the space between worlds (what with the way she hops between them)

Feeling conflicted about the cyberpunk thingy impulse is going for because like yeah it’s a great theme and I like the aesthetics a lot but what I really like most about cyberpunk is the themes of corporate alienation and/or transhumanism etc etc which I know will not be addressed at all and in fact it’s kind of stupid of me to expect that at all from a minecraft series. Does anyone else get that or just me

#this is an issue I’ve been having with mcyt content in general you know. not ragging on impulse specifically #it’s just… I find it difficult to reconcile the quality of narrative focused mcyt content with its complete lack of commentary #should it have commentary? I believe it could if it wanted to. I don’t think it has to #but then you see these genres being… skinned and worn as cloaks #taking the aesthetics and story without any of the meaning behind it #and when it was just Minecraft builds that was expected. I guess it is still expected and I’m being a huge snob #but like. mcyt narrative is so fucked from a quality standpoint. you can’t even have villains who are other mcyters because people #will get mad at them #is that an unrelated issue? maybe. but I don’t think so #idk. mcyters aren’t expected to be storytellers and they don’t need to be #but I see these things happen over and over again and it’s just uncanny to see something that walks like a story talks like a story #but at the same time has absolutely nothing of value to say #it’s very early on so maybe there will be something done with this concept but I doubbbt it. I would be very pleasantly surprised #astro speaks #hermitcraft #not putting this in the impulse tag cause he would be more likely to see it #and I don’t want him to feel like he has to address this at all #it’s more just me noticing a trend

someone free me from this very cursed The Raven Cycle inspired bsd au. rich kid Dazai spends all his time researching the supernatural and ley lines in Japan’s country side. He had a (near) death experience as a kid but was saved through supernatural means and now he is unable to die. But the gift of his immortality is unbearable to Dazai. Thus he has dedicated his life to researching the supernatural to figure out what happened to him and how to reverse it. Since his incident he has also been able to see the supernatural. Unfortunately, when he is trying to come in direct contact with the supernatural it dispels, almost like he is nullifying it.

Chuuya is the youngest in a found family household of shrine workers and spiritual mediums. He is the only one in his family that’s not inclined to the supernatural but everyone around him feels the supernatural more severely when he is around. Even though he can’t see the supernatural like his family members do, he helps out and enhances the supernatural during seances and other family business.

When Dazai and Chuuya meet, their opposing inclinations to the supernatural cancel each other out. But the same way their inclinations to the supernatural are opposing each other so are their personalities. Will they get over their differences to work together?

And then there is this little tiny detail that could shake up this potential research partnership. Chuuya has been told since he was a little kid that he would kill his true love with their first kiss. During a seance he enhanced a few months earlier, Chuuya managed to catch a glimpse of an actual ghost for the first time. The ghost of a boy who is supposed to die in the next 12 months. Lippmann told him that non-clairvoyants are only able to see the ghosts of the future-dead if they are the one to kill them… or their soulmate. The boys name? Dazai. And now that Chuuya has met him he is pretty sure he is going to kill him. Right?!

#in 2024 you can expect extremely niche crossovers of my fave pieces of media because that’s something that brings me so much joy #bungou stray dogs #bsd #soukoku #bsd chuuya #bsd dazai #chuuya nakahara #dazai osamu #gansey and blue aren’t really the best roles for dazai and Chuuya since skk feel like an amalgamation of both ronan and adam to me #but considering how intertwined gansey’s storyline is with death I feel like that works well with Dazai #and then I thought about enhancement ability user Chuuya and amplifier Blue #not sure about the rest of the friend group tho #but kunikida with a ronan like ability would be funny but also very cursed #and Oda with a storyline that’s reminiscent of Noah ;))#to make it work it can only be loosely inspired by the books #stealing random bits and pieces and going from there #any bsd trc enjoyers around?!?!?!?#I can’t really talk to my gf about this cuz they haven’t read the books yet u_u #especially the noah oda thing…………

When will people understand that the lost light isn’t the first time Rodimus has been in charge of something. He had a whole team he trusted and went on adventures with who trusted him in turn. He was essentially a leader of a whole resistance. So many ppl seem to frame him as a bad leader because of the way Magnus talks about him in the beginning but continue to forget that Magnus goes to him for advice and trusts him as a leader even if he does questionable actions. Fail to remember Magnus is harsh on him bc he expects some sort of Tyrest out of him and because he’s seen how good a leader Rodimus can be and knows he can do better. Keep forgetting that Rodimus stopped reading Magnus’ reports before Overlord because they are mundane and petty observations that really don’t matter all that much. Rodimus clearly states he doesn’t read them anymore, meaning he read them before. He says why he stopped. He’s familiar with the way Magnus writes. He knows what’s going on in the ship. Please open your eyes I’m on my knees. He just seems less committed about it because 1. It’s 200 people but he remembers every single one of them 2. Every time he commits to something and cares deeply about it it ends in deep disaster so he’s trying to detach from it and failing sooo bad

oh my fucking god. yeah, i've got something i'd like to say. you wanna be better? then be better. that's it, that's all there is. i cannot believe you'd think that i should have to say anything to you about hating a fictional teenage boy suffering through the worst tragedy of his life. if you can't handle it, you shouldn't be watching this show.

because guess what? mickey isn't fucking real. he doesn't need this from you. feel for his hurting, sure. feel upset or confused, sure. but your baby girl is just fine without this energy. not only does this attitude trivialize ian, it infantilizes mickey.

have we really forgotten one of the core tenets of this show: that people fuck up and hurt each other, but we can choose to salvage the relationships that are worth it to us? yes, people that are sick can hurt people, even if they love them. it's a real thing. but every single one of these characters is flawed. baby girl hurt plenty of people as well, and we love him still.

and putting aside this show for a goddamn moment, you know what is real? this illness. i'm fucking real. i'm sick. and i'm so fucking tired of seeing what i go through trivialized here. so for you to not only feel this way, but to think that i need to know about it - and that i should have to hold your hand through it??? it's bullshit. this mindset totally glosses over what mania and hypersexuality actually are, and "i know he's sick but..." doesn't mean anything if you don't think about it.

i've seen too many posts on the dash lately forgetting about the tragedy of ian's illness - the illness that many of us deal with daily. let's talk about it; let's find moments of lightness where we can, sure, but the moment you think "oh this is funny" or "oh i need help with this" - fucking think about it first. think about how you're saying it and WHY.

you didn't have to say this and i don't think you're sorry. if you really wanted to talk this through, there are a million different ways to start the conversation. if i thought you really wanted to talk about ian, that might be different. but i think you knew what you were doing here, and if i didn't think the dash needed to hear this, i'd have deleted and blocked you immediately. be fucking better.
