Hello! I just wanted to ask for a Volturi kings x fem!mate who is very powerful. The problem is that they don't exactly know how powerful she is cause she's all happy and bubbly person and very rarely use her powers. So when the king's lives are in danger, she gets all angry and mouthy to the threat and just uses her powers and just annihilate them. Que open-mouthed vamps and one aroused blonde lol.
A/N: Pikachu meme was my inspiration and let’s once ignore the fact that Aro can read minds! Also, it is hard to imagine a situation where the kings could be harmed so apologies for the bad plot that I made up.
-S
+400ish words.
TW/CW: Three cases of beheading (blame Stephenie Meyer for making the vampires so over powered). I can't think of anything else!
Tumblr media
It took them quite a long time before your mates even realized that you had special powers.
You really didn’t talk about them because to you it wasn’t anything too special and due to your bubbly personality, you rarely talked about any bad past experiences.
You sat on Caius’s lap playing with his extravagant clothes whilst waiting for the trial to start.
The room was mostly empty, only consisting of the three kings, you and two lower guards. The next case was said to be pretty simple and quick, so it was deemed that a massive security wasn’t needed. Also, the higher guards were in need of a break.
The heavy doors opened, and you quieted down.
You didn’t really know what the man being escorted had done. But from what you had heard from your mates, the man had hurt many people causing humans to start to question what was going on.
You didn’t really pay attention to the happenings. Aro took the lead like most of the time. He gently took the hand of the man in front of him, diving into the man’s memories.
Aro most of the times closed his eyes when using his powers. He said that it was because it helped him to concentrate on the vast amount of information that he was getting.
You weren’t sure what happened but in seconds the man pulled his hand away from Aro and the two guards on the floor were on the floor heads separated from their bodies.
All of your mates seemed very confused. It had been centuries since one who was standing in trial had attacked the kings.
Before you could stop yourself, you got up from Caius’s lap and activated your power.
Mid movement the man stopped, half a step away from Aro trying to behead Aro just like he had done with the guards. Slowly bringing his hands down.
“What the hell happened?” Caius said, taking your hands to his.
You didn’t have any time to respond when Aro had twisted the man’s head off of his body, letting the body and head fall on the ground unceremoniously.
“I used my powers on him...” You said, finally diverting your gaze from the man.
“Aro...”
Your mate turned to look at you and you ran to him taking him into a hug.
“And remind us of what exactly your powers were...” Caius said, still very confused.
“I can control people's bodies...” You said, getting embarrassed of all the attention that you were getting.
“And you didn’t inform us of this power?” Marcus asked.
“I mean it's not really that impressive, so I didn’t see the point in it...”

Feel like you want to support me via Kofi? No preasure tho!

anyway im sleep deprived bzt i think thats the perfect state to talk about my favourite twilight headcanon that would piss stephenie meyer off:
edward as an immortal child.
okay so the line of what is and is not a child is fluent, right? and there is a time of your life when youre a teenager when it feels like you're kind of a passenger to your brain just doing things that upset everyone around you but you can't figure out how to stop. my german teacher used to say that trying to get kids to actually be in school and study and take anything in from the ages of 14 to 18 should be illegal because your brain is basically under construction.
and here's edward, 17 years old (on the word of his parents while the spanish influenza was at an all time high so i am kind of. betting she lied a little), and forever trapped in this self reinforcing loop of self hatred and assholery that i can very clearly remember being in when i was about 16. edward, who can't consider the full impact his decisions will have (revealing himself to people so the volturi will kill him, breathing around a bunch of humans, his obsession with bella he does nothing to counteract, etc), edward who sometimes has trouble controlling his blood lust and has to have carlisle sit next to him and gently coaxing him to stop.
so the volturi set the age limit for immortal children anywhere from 14 to 18, depending on the person. and edward faces them, decade after decade, forcing himself into a maturity he doesn't have, to prove to them that he is an adult and Carlisle didn't create an immortal child. To protect his family, he constantly and consistently puts pressure on himself to be perfect and mature and entirely capable of the same amount of self restraint.
But he isn't. He's a child who sometimes wakes up wailing because everything anyone has ever thought is stuck in his brain, because sometimes he's still dying, because sometimes all he wants to do is hide and have a tantrum.
just. the potential of actually exploring that angle. i would have eaten that up

Dec. 23 - What's one of your favorite scenes in Twilight (books or films) and why?
I love the scenes that are heavy on environmental description (like when Bella goes to La Push or when she goes in the woods after researching vampires or when she's describing Phoenix for Edward) because I think this is one thing Stephenie Meyer excels at as a writer. I can picture everything so clearly in my head and it's like I'm there in the story too.
The scene in Breaking Dawn where Bella figured out she's pregnant and Edward is just lying on the floor like edward.exe has stopped working is hilarious to me. Also there's a little moment when Edward just falls face first into the couch because he can't function. (Unpopular opinion - BD is a truly wild ride and some of the plot decisions are like 'why would you do that???' but I personally still think it's fun.)
In the movies, I like the part in New Moon where Bella and Edward are looking at the Volturi portrait and the camera zooms in on it and the figures start moving and then we're in the flashback scene. It's really clever.

Oh, but if I may be so bold, I'd love to get some proper book recommendations by you, even without a tag game going on or anything. So if you feel like sharing.... I am always on the hunt for recs 👀🖤
I'd be happy to! Here are 8 books I really love:
The Valley of Fear by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
If you're following me there's a good chance you've already read this, but just in case you haven't, if I could recommend you read one story out of the Holmes canon, it would be this one. It is genuinely so clever and so well written with multiple gut-punch reveals, and the ending scene is genuinely haunting. I am devastated that there's never been a film adaptation (well not since the silent film era anyway), but that's all the more reason to give this one a read!
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley
This book was a birthday gift from @teledild0nix and it instantly became one of my all time favorites. I'd recommend going into the story knowing as little about it as possible so I can't give you a good summary, but if you like mysteries, time travel, or pirate stories with a touch of romance, I think you'll enjoy this one!
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
I think I mentioned in the retrospective that reading this book in high school was one of the first books I actually analyzed for myself. Since then, my appreciation for this book has only grown. It's exactly everything that appeals to me most: it's set in the Victorian era, it's got clever dialogue, it plays with the contrast between appearances and reality, and most importantly, it's ultimately a clever commentary on what it means to create something, how much of yourself (and your audience, and the expectations of society, and the views of critics, and and and) gets put into and influences the work, and the disastrous effects all of that can have. That theme being the center point of the story makes it even more tragic that this book ended up playing into Wilde's own downfall.
Also, no I will not stop trying to make BBC Dorian happen (and by that I mean mentioning how good a fit it would be for a Mofftiss adaptation at every chance I get)
The Tale of Despereax by Kate Dicamillo
A childhood favorite that has continued to have a tremendous influence on my approach to storytelling. The Tale of Despereax is the story of a mouse who wishes he was a knight, of a rat caught between a life in the darkness when he yearns for the light, and a little girl who is seen as more inconvenience than person because of the abuse she's suffered. Ultimately, it's about navigating the world when you want things you're told you shouldn't and the consequences rigid roles can have on all of us. The way the stories are woven together blew my mind when I was eight, and to this day I'm still so drawn to the comforting narration and the brilliant way Dicamillo made those complicated issues accessible for children.
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
Full disclosure I haven’t actually made it all the way through this book, but whenever I come back to it and read the poetry it resonates with me in such a profound way. If you need something that will help you feel like life is beautiful and worth living, pick this one up and flip to a random poem.
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer
Okay, listen. This book has all the same flaws as the rest of Stephenie Meyer's writing (in some cases far more egregious than other entries, I'm thinking specifically about the way she writes the Quileute Tribe here). If you can't get into it for those reasons, I totally get it. But as someone who spent my adolescence hoping this book would come out someday, it's better than I could have ever hoped for. There's a degree of self-awareness in this book, really leaning into the oddness of Edward Cullen's behavior and in light of the ways his decisions in this book really come around to bite him in later entries in the series, it kind of acts as a scalding critique of his worldview. Full disclosure part of the reason this one resonates with me so much is because I saw a lot of myself in Edward's constant and insufferable catastrophizing, and realizing that gave myself the ultimate tool to stop those thoughts in their tracks: "Rebekah, you're Edward Cullening again." Works like a charm.
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
Speaking of problematic favorites... This book was written in the 1950s about the 1910s and it completely shows in the way Smith writes about people who aren't christian or white (it's not outwardly hateful, in fact I think Smith thinks she's being very accepting, but some of the choices are very, very stereotyped and the more I revisit it as an adult the more uncomfortable these sections make me). So if someone can't get around that, I get it, I find it harder and harder to get around that myself.
What keeps drawing me back to this one is how vibrant and nostalgic and bittersweet and genuine the narration of Francie's life is. The story is told as a series of vignettes, beginning one Saturday afternoon when Francie is 12 years old, jumping back to the day her parents met, and then continuing forward chronologically until Francie is reaching adulthood. There's a wistfulness to everything that makes it clear a lot of this is based on Smith's own upbringing, but it's clearly a romanticized version of it, I think she described it as "the way it ought to have been," which given how grim parts of the novel are is saying something. I read this book every few years and if you go through it yourself, you'll probably notice how big of an influence it's had on my own worldview and writing.
And finally the big one:
How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas. C. Foster
The book that literally changed my life, if you've ever felt unsure of how or where to begin understanding literary symbolism, this is the book I would recommend to get you started. The way Foster pulls from examples you'll already be familiar with, makes the conclusions seem logical rather than nebulous, and especially the way he describes the interconnectedness of storytelling all make literary analysis both accessible and even captivating. Like with A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, I think if you read this one, the influence it's had on me is going to be immediately obvious.

ten books to get to know me
Thanks for the tag @wolfpants!! And @consistentsquash!! :D
Tagging: @perverse-idyll, @writcraft, @lizzy0305, @arrisha-ao3, @liladiurne, @bluesundaycake, @cindle-writes, @ripeteeth, @givereadersahug, @broomsticks, @charlotterhea, @ashesandhackles, @teacup-tai, @sugareey-makes-stuff, @mrviran, @yletylyf ....no pressure! Apologies if you've already been tagged or done this! And if you've not been tagged and want to play along, go ahead and consider yourself tagged!
Under the cut cuz LONG. (Y'all know I like to talk.)
The Harry Potter series
....I'm in the HP fandom, so that's probably 0 surprise. Also feels icky due to being written by Terf McTerfington. Buuuuuut. Well. The universe needs balance and HP's power was so great it could only be stopped by Great Evil, or so I like to tell myself.
The series was published in the U.S. when I was 7. I was already a big reader. I was a big reader from the moment I could read at all. But HP was the first series I fell well and truly in love with. I discovered fanfiction at 11, and started writing it at 13. The story and this fandom were there through the worst moments of my life. I'm not sure it will ever not be important to me.
The Percy Jackson series (Rick Riordan)
Honestly, I can't lie, I'm a big sucker for kids' books. They're just fun, dang it. Great literature? No. But I don't read to impress, I read to have a good time, and Percy Jackson is a good time. Also all the related series. Magnus Chase? Trials of Apollo? The Kane Chronicles? Yes yes yes BRING THEM TO ME.
There's a Potter-esque feel to the PJO series. Dark haired green eyed hero who didn't know he had magical abilities? Also the Cabins make me think of the Houses, even though it's more parentage than traits. It's a vibe, okay? And on top of that...mythology???? I'm a big ole mythology nerd, especially for Greek mythology. And let me tell you, I inhaled those books. And I still love them a lot, actually.
The Twilight series (Stephenie Meyer)
To round out the list of "stories Little Danni loved" is Twilight. Yes, I was a Twi-hard in junior high and high school. What's funny is all the modern "this is problematic because Edward is stalking Bella, and also he's a vampire and immortal and there's an age gap!" jabbering is probably what sold me on the story to begin with. Listen: I like what I like, okay? Also: vampire + human? Does that count as monsterfucking? Idk but it's at least different species which ticks some boxes, okay?
Honestly everyone talking about how effed up Twilight is was just a lightbulb moment for me of like "oh. No wonder I was so into it."
Twilight also played a role in my writing journey! In high school I joined a Twilight themed RPG site on proboards. I created a mega evil vampire named Danna Deville, whose face cast was Hayden Panettierre. This weirdly made me super popular because no one else was creating/playing villainous characters. Let me tell you, it did loads for my self esteem. Also it's funny to think about all those old friendships born of "hey let's RP together. I really want your character to torture my character."
Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson)
This one I have big opinions on. On the one hand, I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson's stories. On the other hand, while his magic systems are often highly praised, I hate them. Hate, loathe, and despise them. I'll not say more than that. I don't like to hate on things. And my partner really loves Brandon Sanderson and his magic systems. (I'm just over here muttering about "they eat metal" and have to actively not think about it.) It's just not my jam. I much prefer softer magic systems. Hard magic systems tend to throw me a bit. But Brandon Sanderson sure knows how to tell a story, dang it. He's super creative and smart and has these big sweeping ideas, with all these twists and turns! His worldbuilding is also insanely good.
Mistborn (Era 1) is probably my favorite of his works. One as an overall story (Vin, my love!) But also the connection to my Eddie.
You see, when my partner and I first met, it was in the book section of an entertainment store. Where we stood in the aisles and talked for hours. My very first impression was "who is this goofy man?" and I left the interaction fully smitten. And anxious, awkward lady that I am, my grand plan was to read the books he'd been raving about to have something to talk about. Idle chit chat? No can do. Book talk? That I can do! So I read Mistborn, for a start. Then worked my way through other book recommendations. And now that goofy nerd is mine. All's well that ends well!
The Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson)
Once I worked my way through Brandon Sanderson's books, I moved onto The Wheel of Time, which was much more up my alley! I could not put those books down. (At least until I hit The Slog, at which point I still couldn't put them down, but I was mostly charging through waiting for it to get good again.) This was also the first time I tried to not look up spoilers before reading a book. (Blasphemy, I know, blah blah. Look: I have anxiety. Spoilers make my life easier and happier, okay?) Eddie is very staunchly anti-spoiler, so I did my best to try a spoiler-free experience. I made it most of the way through. Towards the end I accidentally spoiled myself on a big event. It was a bit foolishly done but I'd consulted google to refresh my memory on an event from an earlier book, and my Google excursions warned me of a few deaths ahead of time. Whoops. On the whole, though, me making it 10+ books with no spoilers was pretty dang impressive.
Also the book series is great. And I'm side-eying the show a bit. Just a little bit.
(Bonus: the band Blind Guardian has a song called "Wheel of Time" about the books and it's 10/10. At least if you like symphonic metal, which I do.) (Oh, "Ride Into Obsession" from the same album is also WoT inspired.)
Flowers in the Attic series (V. C. Andrews)
The fact that I read this series as a child might explain a lot. Also you should know my mother gave me these books to read. Child abuse, forced imprisonment, murder, and incest? Sign me up! It's all sortsa messed up and dark and to this day it's still my # 1 guilty pleasure series. I like...just don't care. You can tell me how badly written it is or how problematic it is, I don't care. This is the book equivalent to eating a whole bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos while watching true crime videos. This is indulgence, my friends. I'm having a great time, please leave me in peace.
Till We Have Faces (C. S. Lewis)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Idk what to say other than this book is perfect, I will hear no slander against it, and I really need to reread it, like, ASAP. Another link to Greek mythology this one. Also: I really love Orual.
(Does anyone wanna read/reread it with me? Lmk.)
The Song of Achilles (Madeline Miller)
Gorgeous, amazing, perfect, wonderful. Patroclus/Achilles forever. Ouch my heart. God it's beautiful. MORE GREEK MYTHOLOGY OF COURSE. Also all of Madeline Miller's stuff is stellar. (Circe and Galatea!!!! Read those, too!!!!) I have every feeling on planet earth about this one.
Widecare trilogy (Phillippa Gregory)
Beatrice Lacey is wonderful and amazing and also really messed up in the head. Historical fiction. Little Beatrice is in love with her family's land, Wideacre. And is HORRIFIED and OFFENDED when she realizes that, as a girl, she will not only not inherit, but will have to leave one day???? Cuz as a lady it is her purpose in life to get married and pop out babies???? But Beatrice is ambitious, clever, manipulative, and passionate and she doesn't let lady parts or the patriarchy keep her down!! And by that, she goes to rather dark and taboo extremes. Which I admire and respect. (I grew up watching horror films and reading darkfic. Trust me, I was having a great time with this story.)
Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte)
I stg this book gets no respect. Is this a really toxic, dysfunctional romance? Absolutely. What else do you want in a story???? Oh OBSESSIVE, PASSIONATE, UNDYING LOVE??? GOT THAT, TOO. This book lives in my heart and soul. I can fully quote Heathcliff's speech to Catherine ("I cannot life without my life, I cannot live without my soul") on demand. I have read this book to death, through resurrection, and back to death.
...also it's hella Snarry, isn't it? That explains a lot.
(Also shoutout to other teenage obsessions: The Hunger Games and Divergent. Also the Three Dark Crowns series???? Loved that. Hannibal???? Yes please. Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series??? MORE! Oh and R.L. Stein's The Nightmare Room were the books of my childhood. Oh! Oh oh! And another thing! The Wonder by Emma Donoghue????? Incredible. Blow my mind. Oh and She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb is another case of "this is a very dark messed up story that a family member gave me that I inhaled because I really liked messed up stuff, actually.") (Is this cheating? Probably. But I've been a major bookworm since words even made sense to me, please cut a gal some slack.) (Please don't judge me.)

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE
Tumblr media
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,
written by Stephenie Meyer and published in 2007
Tumblr media
REVIEW AND SUMMARY
Eclipse is the third novel in Stephenie Meyer's popular Twilight series. Before reading Eclipse, read Twilight and New Moon first (in that order) because the author doesn't spend too much time explaining the previous novel's plotlines, instead plunging the reader right into the action.
The eclipse begins with Bella reading Jacob's letter after her failed attempts to contact him. The letter is partially crossed out, but the gist is: "We can't be friends when you spend all of your time with a bunch of vampires."
Charlie alerts Bella and Edward to a murder spree in Seattle. Edward tells Bella that his family believes bloodthirsty newborn vampires committed the killings.
Jacob becomes a source of contention for Edward and Bella. Bella demands to see Jacob, but Edward foils her plans to flee to see him.
Edward persuades Bella to visit her mother in Florida. Following their return, Jacob appears at Forks High and informs Bella that the evil vampire Victoria, who is hell-bent on killing Bella, has returned. The Cullens, Edward's good vampire family, and the Quileute werewolves, including Jacob, have had a run-in during the hunt for the evil vampire. Bella convinces Edward to stop being so protective of her.
Bella sneaks away from Edward's sister Alice's supervision to see Jacob. Edward is furious when she returns, but she's had enough of the vampire-werewolf conflict. "I am Switzerland, a neutral country," Bella says.
Jacob rides into Forks High on a motorcycle to "kidnap" Bella away from Alice's supervision. Bella seizes the opportunity and flees with him. Jacob tells Bella he would be a better match for her than Edward, but Bella tells him that she loves Edward. He informs Bella about "imprinting," similar to love at first sight for werewolves. His friends have already imprinted, but he has not. When Bella reveals that she will be turned into a vampire after graduation, Jacob loses his cool and declares that he would rather see her dead.
When Bella discovers that some of her clothes have gone missing, Edward confirms that an unknown vampire has snooped around her home. Jacob arrives to collect the unidentified scent for the werewolves to track. Edward informs Bella that the Seattle killing spree has worsened, leading the Cullens to believe that someone is assembling a horde of vicious newborn vampires.
With graduation only a week away, Bella becomes aware that she will soon be transformed into a vampire and develops cold feet. She still wants Edward to change her, but she is hesitant to marry him because she worries about what her parents and the people of Forks will think of her.
Edward and Jacob plan to hide Bella from the vampire army in the woods, far from the battleground. Jacob assigns his cousin Seth, a young werewolf new to the pack, to protect her during the fight.
Edward, Bella, and Jacob decide to spend the night before the battle in a tent in the woods. Outside, a snowstorm is raging. Edward (whose skin is always ice cold) reluctantly agrees to let Jacob warm Bella because she is freezing to death. Edward and Jacob have a heart-to-heart, during which Edward states that if Bella chose Jacob, he would let her go without a fight.
Jacob learns that Edward and Bella are getting married just before the battle. He's broken and tells Bella he will commit suicide in action. Bella begs him to reconsider. They exchange kisses. Bella loses her relaxation and realizes she's in love with Jacob.
Bella feels terrible about herself, but Edward forgives her. The fight is going well until Victoria, and her vampire companion Reilly appear out of nowhere. Edward confronts Victoria. Seth assaults Reilly. It's a close fight, but Edward and Seth triumph by working together. The Volturi arrive at the battleground, amazed that the Cullens have taken care of all their work.
Bella pays a visit to Jacob, who has been wounded in battle. He promises Bella that he will let her go but will always be waiting in the wings for her - possibly even after she transforms into a vampire.
Bella has an emotional breakdown after leaving Jacob. Nonetheless, she believes she has made the correct decision. Though she has reservations about marrying, she accepts the idea because she feels she owes it to her parents to share this critical human tradition with them before becoming a vampire. She even consents to allow Alice to plan a large wedding.
Jacob is devastated and enraged when he receives Bella's wedding invitation. He transforms into a wolf and vanishes into the woods, thinking, "I would never go back...I pushed my legs faster, letting Jacob Black vanish behind me."

The story used the following types of criticism approaches:

Waiiiiiiiiiiiit a second. Did Stephenie Meyer accidentally make an M/M pairing canon. Like, you know Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined? She genderswapped everyone BUT Bella/Beau's parents. That way all the canon pairings still happen and SM could keep it hetero. But SM. You made Sue Clearwater a dude: Saul Clearwater. And if canon pairings remain, and the events will proceed roughly the same..... Charlie gets to hook up with a dilf and I for one am happy for him

Do you think Meyer intentionally wrote Edward as a lunatic?
Yes and no, she's been outspoken about part of the motivation for writing Midnight Sun being a desire to see Edward characterized correctly. The guy she was seeing in fanficion just wasn't it, and she wanted fans to understand him. Which I guess is very ironic, because fandom's collective reaction to Midnight Sun has largely been "fuck that, we like our own".
Now, I can't guess as to how I'm meant to ship Bella/Edward after Midnight Sun, so obviously I'm taking it further than Meyer intended, but she did also write a 750 page horrorfest with Edward confessing to only having stopped murdering homeless people and drug addicts because their blood wasn't tasty enough to be worth the trouble, having gory fantasies about murdering high schoolers, and risking Bella's life for his own gratification.
And yet she thinks Edward is great, perfect man right there, the happy ending to her billion dollar franchise is her SI marrying the guy. This guy.
I think the answer here is that Stephenie Meyer is a mystical being whose actions make no sense to us mortals.

The Phenomenon of the Immortal Sun: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan, Chapter 6
Tumblr media
None of the characters in Twilight belong to me, all rights go to Stephenie Meyer!
Authors note: I have no idea if I used these song lyrics in a previous chapter in Eclipse... I have a garbage memory.
"Stars did fall. Thunder rolled. Bugs crawled back, In their holes. The couple screamed, but it was far too late. Her jealous heart did retaliate."
Ten Cent Pistol by, The Black Keys.
Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie looked like they wanted to kill someone. Alice, Dean, Esme, and Bree all looked confused and hurt.
Rosalie inhaled deeply.
"We need to do something about those two..." Rosalie said.
"They're way out of line... Edward especially... human or not I would kill anyone who comes near Fleur." Jasper added, fury was still in his voice.
"What can you guys do he's your brother. Besides after Bella turns they were going to go live in that cabin you guys renovated for them."
"We'll need to do something, you don't need any of this right now... I'm disappointed in him." Esme said sadly.
Before I could say anything else I could hear Bella scream.
"She must've just gotten bitten." I murmured.
"Hey you're probably thirsty, your eyes are starting to turn black, let me get you something," Esme suggested.
"That'd be great thanks... Jazz, could you hand me my phone?"
"Sure, what for darlin?" Jasper said sitting next to me.
"I need to call Sam and Leah... they need to know about this too. If we keep it from them, they could consider it a threat."
Carlisle's office door swung open, Edward ran toward the front door and slammed it. Carlisle came out with an annoyed look on his face.
"He's going to be the second death of me I swear he is."
"Well Seth already knows, maybe he told Leah." Bree suggested.
"Maybe he did but it won't hurt to check." I replied. I dialed Leah's number first thinking she might be a little more understanding.
"Fleur?" I heard her ask on the other line.
"Hey, Leah... has Seth told you anything lately?" My voice trembled slightly. I heard Leah sigh before letting out a laugh.
"Yeah, Seth told me you were pregnant calm down." I heard her reply.
"Oh, so Sam knows too?"
"Yeah but he's a bit skeptical... you know how he is." Leah mumbled.
"Yeah... but what about Bella... he does know that today is her changing day, the transformation is already happening."
"The last thing he told Seth about her is that she's not our concern anymore... it's her choice to change, we can't stop it." Leah explained.
"Listen I gotta go, I'll see you soon."
"See you later." She hung up a few seconds later. I rested my head on Jasper's should and sighed in relief.
"Here Fleur, maybe this we'll make you feel a bit better," Esme said, handing me a glass.
I grasped the cup and chugged it, it was gone a few seconds later. I didn't feel much better.
"Your eyes are still black...each bag should have the exact amount of blood you need for the next few days... How about you have some more?
I gulped down another bag, it still wasn't enough.
"This isn't good." Carlisle explained, he looked puzzled.
"Ehh...why isn't that good?" I inquired
"Well, if you can never be satisfied with the amount of blood your drinking you will eventually begin to starve. You will lose your strength, and could possibly have moments of insanity." Carlisle explained.
"I can handle this... it'll be worth it for him. Besides like you said before it most likely won't be a full 9 months."
"We'll all be by your side darlin." Jasper reassured, kissing my cheek.
"I'll monitor you whenever I can, it seems they're already growing quickly." Carlisle said, gesturing down to my bump.
Over the next few weeks, my baby grew more and more, but I was beginning to get weaker. No matter how much blood I drank, nothing seemed to sedate me. The rest of the Cullens were on edge with Edward and Bella, and since Bella was finally a vampire, they couldn't trust them at all. They weren't around much but when they were Rosalie and Jasper seemingly stood guard for me. I was zoned out, laying in an armchair since I was beginning to get sick of sitting on the same couch when Esme interrupted my concentration.
"Fleur, Leah and Seth are here." She called out.
I sat up and smiled, gesturing for her to bring them in. Leah and Seth walked in carrying some wrapped boxes with them.
Esme walked in with them before giving a quick goodbye as she wanted to help Carlisle and Rosalie with collecting food for me.
"You two did not have to get me anything." I said.
"Look aunt Leah has to get my nephew something." She said a smile was on her face.
I opened the box, a stuffed wolf plushie was inside, a dreamcatcher was underneath the plushie.
"These gifts are great thank you!"
"No problem, I thought they would be nice."
"You are the only one who thinks it's a boy, everyone else thinks it's a girl."
"I trust your instincts." Leah shrugged before pulling up a chair and sitting next to me.
"So how are you Fleur?" Seth asked, he shuffled around in his place, his eyes were scanning for someone else.
"It's getting rougher now since he's growing so big but, I know it'll all be worth it in the end."
"Your eyes look really dark, aren't they suppose to be red?" Leah inquired.
"We're beginning to think he's half-vampire half-human, he has a heartbeat it's just slightly faster than usual humans. He's definitely drinking the blood I get."
"I heard what happens to vampires when they don't feed...it gets rough." Leah said rubbing my back comfortingly.
"I have my moments but, they haven't been too bad."
"Where's the rest of the Cullens?" Seth inquired.
"Hunting, Edward, and Bella don't show up much... they don't want me to have my baby. But the rest of the Cullen's are really supportive and Jasper is ecstatic about it." I rubbed my bump unconsciously.
"But how do you eat?" Leah asked, her eyebrows were furrowed.
"Carlisle and Rose get these bags of animal blood for me." I saw Leah sigh and Lean back against her seat.
"These vampires aren't so bad after all...I'm glad Seth found Bree... she seems nice." Leah smiled.
"Oh she really is, she didn't know what she was doing when she was turned... I'm glad we're able to help her."
"So... when do you think you'll give birth?"
"Carlisle said I could give birth in a week or two... It's nerve-wracking, it's so unpredictable."
"Hey, you'll be fine... I'll stay here for a bit if you need." Leah offered.
"That would be nice but, I don't want to put you through any trouble."
"It wouldn't be any trouble besides If Edward or Bella tries something... they're going to have to deal with me too."
I laughed but before I could say anything I could sense Edward and Bella coming in, but the others were still farther away.
"Great... now we got werewolves constantly coming in." Bella complained.
Seth and Leah looked up shocked.
"Bella... did you forget you were in a toxic, manipulative love triangle for a solid year with a werewolf... for a solid fucking year." I snapped back.
"Jacob doesn't talk to me anymore!" Bella roared.
"Good for him, he needs to move on." I said, Leah nodded in agreement.
"You always have to stick your opinion in don't you?" Bella said.
"Uhh... you walked in for 5 seconds are were already trying to start shit with me." I snapped, the rage in my body burned.
"Hey, don't you snap at my wife." Edward snarled, he started walking up to me slowly.
"Back off Edward." Leah warned, she seemed to feel how pissed off I was.
"Can it mutt."
"Edward... I've been starving for almost a month... don't try me."
"What can you do? You're frail, weak, impaired." Edward pushed, walking up in front of me.
"What in the fuck are you two still doing here? I mean... honestly, you both got what you wanted, Edward you got a mate, and Bella, you became immortal. If you can't stand the decisions we're all making then why don't you just leave?"
"Because we're protected, we're the feared Olympic coven... Who wouldn't want to stay here." Edward explained, he rolled his eyes as if it were obvious.
"Oh I see... you're using them, you're too unskilled to protect yourselves so why wouldn't you want to let everyone else do the work?" I said in fake shock, Leah and Seth began to chuckle.
"I'm not unskilled enough to protect myself from you." Bella smirked, joining Edward in front of me.
"...You two fucking try something I dare you because the way I've been feeling all month I fucking dare someone to mess with me. I growled standing up on my own, it was strange... it was like a new strength filled my body.
Leah came up in front of me and put an arm between us three.
"Just drop it you three... this isn't going to end well." Leah warned.
Edward smirked and then grabbed me, I quickly flipped him around and as I warned before kicked him through the glass wall.
I heard shuffling and turned around to see Leah holding Bella down with Seth helping her out. I turned back around to the window, I saw Edward lying on the ground with Dean, Alice, Esme, and Emmett looking up at me in shock. I saw Carlisle approach Edward, a deadly look was on his face.
"Damn short stack!" I heard three sets of feet running inside Jasper, Rosalie, and Bree came into the lounge room. Bree went to go help Seth and Leah with Bella.
"Darlin are you okay?" Jasper called toward me worryingly. I couldn't say anything however as that newfound strength had dissipated, and I clutched my head. Rosalie and Jasper rushed to me.
"That's it I can't stand those two anymore they have to get out of here!" Rosalie exclaimed, Jasper just nodded in agreement.
When I was sat back down in the armchair I decided to explain what happened. The rest of the Cullens came back in, Edward couldn't look me in the eyes now.
"So sweety, what happened?" Esme inquired.
"I was just sitting with Leah and Seth when Bella started complaining that Leah and Seth were here."
Bella tried to say something but Rosalie gave her a glare.
"I snapped at her I'll admit but... then Edward started coming up to me threateningly... but he then he said that he was just living with you guys because he was being protected... and long story short Edward grabbed me and I kicked him through the glass wall." I finished. I had never seen Carlisle or Esme so mad before.
"Is that true?" Carlisle inquired.
"But..."
"HE SAID IS IT TRUE!" Esme interrupted.
Edward bit down a growl before answering.
"Yes."
"You two can't come around here anymore...nor do you two belong to this coven." Carlisle demanded.
Bella gasped.
"What a second we can work something out..." She started.
"Look I'm not going to spend decades of you three fighting all the time... and personally, I'm personal want to keep the one I like." Rosalie sniped.
"Leave at once," Carlisle said.
Edward and Bella stormed out of the house and ran off. A thick silence overtook the air.
"Uh...sorry about the wall." Jasper shushed me before pulling me in for a kiss.
"You two okay?" He asked, rubbing my stomach.
"Oh yeah he's having a blast...you should've felt him, he was kicking up a storm. He's a fighter I can tell." I said smiling. Jasper curled up to me and rested his head on mine. I saw the Cullens as well as Leah and Seth glance at each other, leaving the room.
"You know, I can feel what emotions they feel," Jasper stated.
"Really? How is he feeling now?"
"They loves the sound of your voice, I can tell. They get so happy when they hear it."
I smiled fondly on my bump before rubbing it softly.
"I'm glad you love it, we both love you that's for sure..."

Thank you for your request! I ADORE Aro, especially how weird he comes off as!!! So let's get into it!!! Note: ill be using they/them pronouns for Aro's real mate and also im making stuff up as we go cause fuck Stephenie Meyer
For starters, I think his relationship with his wife is purely transactional, so there's no love involved. Plus they have an open relationship(in my mind)
When he first sees his real mate (at a vampire ball) his cold and calculating facade breaks into pieces and smiles (a truthful smile nonetheless!)
He makes a grand appearance inform them as a way to impress them and even asks them for a dance! (How scandalous)
They obviously decline, saying they can't dance and tries very hard to sound as polite as possible.
Cause you don't want to get on the Volturi's bad side let alone their attention
After many attempts (from Aro) to court them, they eventually say that their partner is waiting for them back home.
Aro is JEALOUS AF
They say their goodbyes leave
I should mention that the reason why they didn't recognise Aro as their mate was because they were too busy having a panic attack from being in the vicinity of powerful vampires that could and would kill them if they messed up
Aro in his jealous rage™ sends out people to spy on them and when he finds out that their partner is a wolf he almost explodes
Our vampiric capitalist is mad that he cant get what he wants boohoo
Do you know that scene in scot pilgrim against the world? Where one of the characters has a breakdown after Scott breaks up with her? That's what it looks like.
He sends them letters and gifts but they are constantly being returned
Sulpicia is having the time of her life (or death idk) cause now Aro feels how she feels
Eventually he gives up and goes directly to them
Weird stalker vibes
When they hear that they are his mate, they start questioning everything cause for them to feel their "bond" they have to feel safe and Aro doesn't inspire that in people
Aro tries to convince them that they will have everything they ever wanted however they would have to leave their current mate
Which of course gets him kicked out of their home
Aro is a toxic person plz don't try to love him
So now we got a very entitled and angry Aro, he is FUMING
But he understands that the easiest approach for this problem is to make them come to him
And that includes setting their house on fire and making it look like an accident
Of course they weren't in there but that was the point
(to deprive them of housing)
And thus begins a game that i like to call: "making Aro's mate a living hell until they come back to him and beg him to stop"
Car accidents, almost killing their partner etc
Eventually he almost wins the game
However
They come to Volterra not to beg but to roast him
Cause they are tired of his shit
"oh wow the great Aro Volturi, 3000 years of existing and still doesn't know what 'no' means"
Even when the guards have them on their knees and immobilised they still continue to shout at him
"Did i ruin your fun playing king? And to think i used to fear you, but turns out you are just a child that throws tantrums whenever he doesn't get what he wants"
(since I can't find anything on "real mates" for vampires in the wiki I'm making this headcanon: if a mate of a vampire is killed then that vampire has to live in a constant state of pain ten times worse than the pain their mate felt when they died, for that to work though they have to have had looked each other in the eye at least once.)
(Ok moving on)
The guards wait for Aro's sign to execute them on the spot
"Are you ready to kill me? Do you think you can handle it? Are you ready for everyone to find what a monster you are? If our 'leader' is heartless and selfish enough to kill his mate then what type of leader is he? Are you ready for everything you built to go down the drain?"
Ok so now if they die 1.) Aro is in excruciating pain for the rest of his existence (which will cloud his judgment and lead to his ruin) 2.) Aro will be vulnerable to coup by one of his co-leaders or someone else and 3.) Aro is going to be seen as incompetent and a tyrant by all cause the mate thing is really fuckin important
And so he lets them go
Big blow on his ego but who cares
So now Aro has to exist with a constant longing in his heart and his mate is free to do whatever they please (cause they never looked at Aro while feeling calm and safe)
Good for them

The entire "Carlisle Cullen as benevolent patriarch" thing really falls apart when you prod the concept even a little bit.
Like...he finds these dying people and he turns them into the undead. He doesn't ask their consent, or explain the consequences, or give them any choice...because he only turns people who are beyond the point of being able to give consent.
"But he saves them!" Immaterial. And questionable. He knows what being a vampire is like. He knows the transformation is painful. He knows his "cure" involves serious side effects like immortality, no longer aging, being sterile, and oh yeah...the constant desire to drink human blood.
He can't know, when he "saves" these people, whether they will welcome vampire life as a blessing or loathe it as a curse. He can't know that they won't find any one of those side effects unacceptable and unlivable, let alone ALL of them. He also can't know whether they will choose his "vegetarian" lifestyle.
What if they had chosen to eat humans? Hell...Edward did do that for a while. And Rosalie went on a (justified) killing spree. But what if they hadn't stopped? What if Edward hadn't decided to "compromise" by only eating rapists and pedophiles? What if Rosalie hadn't decided to stop her spree with the men that ended her human life?
Carlisle is not a stupid man. He had to know that these were possibilities. Even if he hadn't known with Edward, he would have surely known by the time he turned Rosalie, Esme, Emmett.
Did he just...not care? Or worse, did he hope that they would be so grateful (or so desperate and alone) that they would cling to him and accept his way of life?
Even if you assume he just came upon these dying people and in his desperation to save them took drastic action...if his motivation is truly to save people, why is his entire family except for Alice and Jasper made up of last-ditch cases?
In all his years as a doctor, you're telling me there was not ONE instance of a terminal patient who got under his skin? Not one person who desperately wanted to live who said "save me, doc. Please save me, there has to be something you can do"?
Not one family member of his who can say "yeah I was dying and Carlisle was my doctor, and he talked to me beforehand and explained everything, and I decided I wanted to live, and I accepted the consequences."
No. He turned people that he didn't know at all who couldn't say yea or nay.
Worse, we know for a fact that Edward and Rosalie would not have chosen vampirism. Edward spent most of his life thinking he's damned, and Rosalie is settling for the life she got because she can never have the life she wanted. Edward is so fucked up over his own existence he doesn't want to turn his girlfriend even when she begs for it, and Rosalie point-blank says in front of a wholeass room that she wishes someone had been there to say no for her.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, he has intentions for Rosalie when he turns her. He hopes she will be Edward's bride. A woman who was just gang-raped and left for dead. He's like "welcome to the afterlife! I got you for my son."
(Edward makes a big misogynistic deal about how Rosalie is supposedly so vain that she never got over the fact that he didn't want her, but what d'you wanna bet she took one look at his broody, possessive, controlling ass and was like "yeah, I'd rather eat glass.")
But it's so creepy. And it's not just one time! First Carlisle is like "hey Rosalie, you were gang-raped by your fiance and his friends, marry my son." And then with Esme it's "hey, you tried to kill yourself because your baby died, come be a mother to my undead teenagers."
It's creepy. Just like every other damn part of Twilight is creepy. So creepy that sometimes I think Stephenie just missed her calling as a horror writer.

Do you have the passage about Bella hiding her relationship to avoid suspicions on Edward if he kills her? I can't find it on my book...
There is not one passage, Anon, but multiple small ones. Did I purchase the kindle bundle of these novels particularly to answer these kinds of questions and get my easy citations back? Yes I did.
I have made many poor choices in my life but this ranks pretty high. (it did come out cheaper than buying them one at a time, and I know myself. Better to spend less money now than more total because I am in denial). Cut for length.
I was sorely tempted to ditch the rest of the day, at the very least Gym, but a warning instinct stopped me. I knew that if I disappeared now, Mike and others would assume I was with Edward. And Edward was worried about the time we’d spent together publicly . . . if things went wrong. I refused to dwell on the last thought, concentrating instead on making things safer for him.

and
In Gym, Mike was speaking to me again; he wished me a good time in Seattle. I carefully explained that I’d canceled my trip, worried about my truck.
“Are you going to the dance with Cullen?” he asked, suddenly sulky.
“No, I’m not going to the dance at all.”
“What are you doing, then?” he asked, too interested.
My natural urge was to tell him to butt out. Instead, I lied brightly.
“Laundry, and then I have to study for the Trig test or I’m going to fail.”
“Is Cullen helping you study?”
“Edward,” I emphasized, “is not going to help me study. He’s gone away somewhere for the weekend.” The lies came more naturally than usual, I noted with surprise.

and
Following the same instinct that had prompted me to lie to Mike, I called Jessica on the pretense of wishing her luck at the dance. When she offered the same wish for my day with Edward, I told her about the cancellation.

and
“You know, Dad . . . ,” I began, breaking into his reverie.
“What’s that, Bell?”
“I think you’re right about Seattle. I think I’ll wait until Jessica or someone else can go with me.”
“Oh,” he said, surprised. “Oh, okay. So, do you want me to stay home?”
“No, Dad, don’t change your plans. I’ve got a million things to do . . . homework, laundry . . . I need to go to the library and the grocery store. I’ll be in and out all day . . . you go and have fun.”
Meyer, Stephenie. The Twilight Saga Complete Collection . Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Kindle Edition.
and
“Charlie said it would be warm today.”
“And did you tell Charlie what you were up to?” he asked.
“Nope.”
“But Jessica thinks we’re going to Seattle together?” He seemed cheered by the idea.
“No, I told her you canceled on me — which is true.”
“No one knows you’re with me?” Angrily, now.
“That depends . . . I assume you told Alice?”
“That’s very helpful, Bella,” he snapped.
I pretended I didn’t hear that.
“Are you so depressed by Forks that it’s made you suicidal?” he demanded when I ignored him.
“You said it might cause trouble for you . . . us being together publicly,” I reminded him.
“So you’re worried about the trouble it might cause me — if you don’t come home?” His voice was still angry, and bitingly sarcastic.
I nodded, keeping my eyes on the road.
Meyer, Stephenie. The Twilight Saga Complete Collection . Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Kindle Edition.
As you can see, even Edward is shocked at how easy she’s making her (currently believed to be probable) murder for him.
I’d like to further direct everyone’s attention, though, to the multiple times Bella feels that she cannot make any other choice because she is already ‘committed’.
I intuitively knew — and sensed he did, too — that tomorrow would be pivotal. Our relationship couldn’t continue to balance, as it did, on the point of a knife. We would fall off one edge or the other, depending entirely upon his decision, or his instincts. My decision was made, made before I’d ever consciously chosen, and I was committed to seeing it through.
Meyer, Stephenie. The Twilight Saga Complete Collection . Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Kindle Edition.
and
I fluctuated between anticipation so intense that it was very nearly pain, and an insidious fear that picked at my resolve. I had to keep reminding myself that I’d made my choice, and I wasn’t going back on it. I pulled his note out of my pocket much more often than necessary to absorb the two small words he’d written. He wants me to be safe, I told myself again and again. I would just hold on to the faith that, in the end, that desire would win out over the others. And what was my other choice — to cut him out of my life? Intolerable. Besides, since I’d come to Forks, it really seemed like my life was about him.
Meyer, Stephenie. The Twilight Saga Complete Collection . Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Kindle Edition.
And finally, not DIRECTLY related to the above passages, but something I do want noted for the record:
[Bella] parked on the narrow shoulder and stepped out, afraid because [Edward] was angry with me and I didn’t have driving as an excuse not to look at him.

Me and Declan shopping for Annabelle's Christmas and i said oh that's for little kids to,keep, them,in bed
"Abu would"
"You bet I dam did!! All the way around the queen bed!! You and your sleep walking! I found yoh all the way in the dam street!!"
"Well why did you let,me,get so far?"
"The guard found you! I was sleeping! He said you wanted to,go,swimming in,the big pond! What the hell and you began beating Him he touched you! They left two with you and one came to get me!! You told me they were beating you making your feet hurt by not allowing you to wall and making you stand in the street on the tiny rocks in the concrete! I nearly killed them all!! And you were still sleeping!!! I only understand when you began to walk because I told you i knew a short cut the other way and you said "I like you. You let me walk so i stand on the rocks less. You don't beat me like them. You let my feet in the air" I started to laugh so hard and You took me back to the hostel room and i took you to the bed and you pointed to the window and you sais "see? I want to swim but it's too small the bathtub is bigger" I nearly died laughing you thinking the moonlight was water. So i locked your ass I bed and all the little kids, too! They beat me they make me stand you said! My feet need to be in the air!! This girl!" He laughs
So, what happen was Abu's mom would tell me to wake up and go outside... And i would open my eyes and be awake but go back to sleep... But its like going to sleep and you're hungry and so you get up and cook after waking up again...
Except she would pretend to lift my soul out my body and tell me i might die if i didn't get up and tell me to go outside.
And so when i would get up my blood pressure would change rapidly and when I would drop i would go back to a sleep state..
So that night i saw Tom (Jeremiah) leaving the parking lot from the hostel. They left their kids with us (Sara had two boys, Jeremiah/Tom had Declan. I met Sara cause her 4 year old was in the same day care as my 4 year old and we all became friends and we would always be at my house, Me and her with thr kids or at the park or doing something for the kids to play and have fun. His dad was there awhile and they shared a suite and i didn't sleep walk but then when his dad went home, Tom went on the prowl) and i saw her red SUV slam on the breaks, start to back up (Abu's mom appeared next to me and, told me to look the other way but I looked down and tilted my head but i could still see him faintly in the corner of my eye) then go into drive, accelerate really fast around a corner then swoop from the opposite direction into a parking space.
Then Tom appeared looking dishelved and worried "how did you know i was leaving?!"
"Did you just come back?"
"Why do you keep doing this to me Sabrina?!"
"You know what? When i went to the lake i wanted to kill myself. You want to kill me?" I was remembering this drive that was weird, that he went on in Okmulgee when he was living with Stephanie and he was telling meall these places he went that were secluded and about living,in,a cave
"What? No"
"So is that same human! Leave him alone!" I was, thinking about his sons...
"Why is she holding your hand? Why did she just disappear?!?!"
"Hey are you Keith?"
"No!! Well my dad would say yes But I've changed since then so i would say no"
Matt came out then "hey what are you two doing out here?" He had been sleeping on the couch and i told him Hi and Bye as i had left the hotel "stay here and don't move. Especially you Tom" he said Tom with disdain
"I told you there was a shadow there!! Dont get Abu!!" Wailed Tom
"You didn't say it out loud!"
"When i was with Stephenie i learned you aren't as important to me as Sara"
My blood pressure was dropping steadily and this was more than enough and my head was heavy and i needed my bed.
"I need a pillow"
"WHY IS THERE A GUN POINTED AT ME??!"
"GUN? That's not the right one!!" I was starting to loose consciousness and there was a man standing opposite of me,ready to kill Tom with the wrong gun, a gun that wasn't mine where was my gun from the golden tree?" I thought to myself
"It was stolen. They put it in the grill because it has wheels. Not now Don't do that to me"
"I need help"
"NO!" Yelled, the guard "go get Abu!" He said to the other "and turn around!"
One was, behind me.. I could feel his arm.. I knew I could slide down his body to slow my fall as long as he didn't move I wouldn't get too hurt when I hit,the ground.
"Or just move!" Matt pushed him out the way but i already had my plan and my brain was all just sit and don't hurt the tail bone i got this. he ended up holding my arm near the elbow "uh sorry.. She was"
"No it's okay I only got her by the wrist you got her higher you were more equipped for her safety
"Well if you're going to hold me prisoner at least do it equally! Here Matt on the wrist."
"Uh uh. No,way Jose"
"Hey you're my brother! Swim?! In a few?? Here sit! Sit! Everyone sit!" They did and a car passed "in the middle of the Goddam street!!"
"What is every one doing? Why is Tom against the fence but everyone is in thr street you tell me that he is the only one with sense? My girl what you do?!"
"Look I am in prison"
"No she isn't and we aren't going swimming"
"My brother is such a killjoy"
"Why are you in your bare feet? Come on my lovely" he brushed the debris from my feet. "Did you die, yet again in the road? Why are your hands hurt?"
"She tried to get up---" explained Matt
"She tried to get up, sir, but she wasn't ready--"
"No, someone touched me from that - from his side - the guard's"
"He push??"
"No like I'm something lovely" the guard across from us, matt and Tom started laughing..
"Sir, come here please" the guard across from us said and Abu asked him to stand to discuss. He did then sat again but Abu said not in the street.
"He told me" Abu started to laugh "oh God please excuse me"
"What did he tell you that's so funny?!" Demanded Matt
"That YOU TOUCHED MY HONEY LIKE AHE BELONGED TO YOU and whats so funny" he began to laugh again. "Matt where were you when she fell?!?! Here maybe you can see I, my palm" suddenly Matt's fist went over his mouth laughing then he began to cry then was on his knees full of laughter. A car drove by again slowly and continued past but in my mind it stopped and in my mind kidnapped Matt
"Shoot that car!" The guard did and the car door opened and the man opened the door and fell out, hanging by his seat belt
"That was Obama's..." Said Abu
"She said to"
"Oh well. Why did you touch my honey? Why do you sit so close? What is her butt to you?"
"Just hurry, that guy is trying to wake up and I don't want him to shoot anyone he isn't supposed to, you know he has a gun"
"WHY DID YOU TOUCH MY HONEY???"
"BECAUSE I WANT TO!!"
"Oh you know he didn't do anything let's go in"
"No. I -- I"
"In Abu. I said. IN! LET'S GO IN. I SAID TO HURRY!"
I jumped up and began to run to the fence, finally the guard with the gun saw what i saw and yelled to Abu & Matt to run inside the courtyard.
Halfway to our room a car door slammed and i jumped in surprised shock, terror and fear
"Why! Why so jumpy!" Asked Abu irritated
I swooshed in front of Matt stopping him, literally stepping on the foot he had down and under the foot he had in the air and pulled Abu in front of me but he pushed me off rudely. "Abu not into the daylight. Come stay in the darkness" No one had shut the gate and Abu's mouth dropped open. He apologized then huddled against my body like he was scared 'get off! Just kidding what is going on? I thought he dead'
"How come you guys can kill people and i can't?" Bothered Tom
"We didn't look"
"What?"
"Wait he will come again"
We all looked and saw blood splurtting from the man's chest as he drove.
"He should not be breathing like that" then we all heard a gurgle then a car crash and a horn honking constant and in our mind we could see him on the horn
"Guard go"
"No, please i can do this"
We heard a deafening shot and the car horn stopped
"Now guard go"
"Wait he needs to see this"
Jesse James 1 appeared in the court yard "BRING ME MY GUN!!!"
"I'm sorry! I will! I will!"
The office for the hotel light turned on. "Oh shit. Every one sit,Sit. In the shade, okay hurry. I will sleep. Move the car when you can shhh. Its sleep"
"No but i want to know what Tom said to you when i left"
"Can't" I literally went to sleep with my head on my hand. My elbow on the arm rest of the chairs.
The hotel office clerk came out and approached... And i heard apologies and Abu grabbed my wrist "come on let's go" and my head fell and hit the arm rest hard and the clerk asked if i was drugged or drunk or sleep walking or what
"No its so much blood you need to get out. You can't stay in. Its not your body. Quit doing things. I know and the car is red. Stop talking and just go"
So the guard got a flashlight and showed none of us were bloody while the gun hid in the dark corner and the clerk said to see if I could get inside the room...
"Come on. Honey. Honey. Come with me. Time to wakey wakey"
"No I'm not bloody. I want swimming. In clean. Clean water. Honey you have me swimming in,schedule to now?
"You got to be kidding me no way."
"That's what i keep saying" said Matt. "Why does,it,feel like i stepped on spikes when i stepped on her?"
"Nuh uh honey... WHAT?!?! Stepped on spikes?!"
"Look at my shoe!! There's holes In it!!"
"Ah ha! My foot feels better! Okay let's go! No can't someone hit me in the head it hurts me"
"You fell on your face. Outside early"
"Let me reset her. What did Tom say to you when I walked in?" Said matt
"Oh!! Me!! Come on! Lets go inside!"
"Okay Whatever"
I started to rush to our room but stopped and turned and gave Matt a hug "thanks for not saving me. Its okay. It was good. Come on"
"Come. Lets. Honey! Honey!!"
The guard was brushing his chest and pointing to Matt to tell him to brush off where i had hugged him and Matt was all dude whatever and so the guard pointed the gun at him. My face was pointed at Abu who had his back to,the guard. Another guard asked Abu if he saw that shit. The 3rd came and said the car indeed needed to be moved
And what Abu said earlier did happen while i was heading to the guard he was a dead man...
Except i told Abu quit fucking around because Abu didn't see him go to the car and was going after him and i told Abu "Abu i need Your hand don't take it away from me" while matt held open the door to the room
In the room Abu saw my face in the light "oh my god! You look like roadkill! That is not funny at all!!" He laughed "but it is!! You looked like God picked you up and threw you to the ground face first with your legs dangling in the air"
"That's how my hips broke. But now all of me hurts. You hand needs to go south, it needs to go to Australia"
"No get in bed. Let me show you"
"Let me go wash"
"What did Tom say to you?" Matt sat on the edge of the bed
"He said I was No longer as important to him as Sara he learned with Steph"
"Iwant you to know he's lying to you. Abu said he would kill him if hes still into you. Remember that. All Tom is is a liar. Okay?"
"Mmhmm yeah i already knew that and apparently so is Keith"
"Did he admit that to you?"
"Yes he sure did"
"You want to go to China??? Because that is how far im going to bury you if you're here when i get up. You know you're not allowed in the room. You know what happened to the last one."
"But sir"
"But sir nothing" Abu shut the door. "Now how did she know that, guy was moving. Show me"
He had a slow bleed but fast enough for a puddle but he looked like he was trying to jerk himself up. And I could see in my mind him thinking of different ways to get up to shoot back but at the same time he wanted to see why we were sitting in the street and wondering how to report to Obama. So he was alive with energy and planning to use it. So we checked and he was in Hell.
"No one saw that but you!" Said Matt
"I know, because everyone was looking at Abu. Just like when I saw that sniper on that trailer roof the other night. Everyone looks at the Boss but that's it"
"She said he admits to being Keith now tonight"
"Oh i know! Oh to you! Her!!!?? Oh may be he has changed... Oh but Idk..."
Abu told matt to go to find about the man
When Matt opened the door "BUT SIR THERE WAS NO BODY ONLY SAND!!"
"Oh i have to kill him. Cant you please wait?"
"No you"
"Oh fine let me get undressed"
"I closed my eyes and then..." A loud cannon went off and sand exploded all over the living room and bounced all over the walls
Declan said "WHAT THE HELL?!" from his room in a WTF is going on now and why do i have to deal with this shit tone and kept repeating it through his mood swing... Until it landed on okay cool back to bed... After a series of amazement and approval and giggles
Matt walked in backwards
"It's ok you can look. She did it. She blew him up"
Matt turned around "you could had warned me first!! Just look at Me!! Im covered in guts of of of a person!!!"
"Yeah but you look like glitter. We shall now, call you glitter man. Its alright open your eyes we are all in clothes and look at yourself and look outside. Its all safe"
"Where did you?!" Matt and Abu said together.
"Its the Smithsonian!" I covered the blanket with my head which meant something totally different to each Matt and Abu
Matt yanked the covers off my head
"Ah man its you!"
"Huh?"
"We had a bird (parrot) and so when we covered it it would be quiet so we would do it to ourselves or each other" explained Matt. "Tell me what the fuck you said and waht did you just do and why am I covered in human glitter"
"It's gold. Come on. I'm bored. Ask God"
"Okay Honey, just a minute, come here Matt"
So then they decided to go to the car and I wanted to go too
"Will you get me my shoes baby?"
"Idk where they are"
"Matt does"
Matt handed me my shoes and I motioned for him to lean down and i kissed his cheek because we always did that as kids because that's how our mom did.
"Thanks baby. Okay let's go!"
Abu checked the kids and they were all asleep including Declan.
The car was pushed into a parking spot like i said to and it was covered in sand like dirt all like it had been buried. The puddle of blood was also just dirt but more ash like.
The next day Jesse James 1 cleaned out the car to have the dirt analyzed and reported it was just sand from elephant butter because that's what the lab had said. But it was untrue. The lab lied.
Abu told him to give him the gun but jesse replied it was covered in vines and couldn't be touched. He said it had spikes all over it so he put it in a large clear cake sized box and vines grew all over it and the lid and began taking over the car and even was trying to unbuckle them in the front seat
We didnt see any of that but when Abu picked up the gun a small seedling curled up and disappeared and turned into a dry leaf.
"No baby here look"
Abu crushed it in anger for being lied to
"Babe! Will you stop with it being bull shit!!"
"Who are you talking to? Not I!"
"Next you are going to say i don't love you!! Here dumb ass!"
The leaf was solid again uncrumpling as i handed it to him and it flashed between a seedling and leaf "oh alright" he turned his palm over and it slowly drifted to the ground twisting and flipping over as it fell... Once it fell we heard a loud boom like a car explosion.
"Alright who died?"
Declan ran to the red car the man had been driving "nope it's still there"
Jesse got off the ground and ssid "I,think I,was dead for a minute"
"Did you hit the deck? Chicken shit"

Breaking Dawn (2008)
Tumblr media
So, I've reviewed the other Twilight Saga books already, but I promiss you, this is gonna be the worst one yet. I must admit, as a 13-year-old girl this was my favorite book (don't kill me yet). I was growing up in a Dutch small Christian town that had had a big infuence on my views. In my mind, it was perfectly logical that the story ends with a child against all odd. As a grown-up Biomedical scientist, this does not go anymore. As such, I now view Breaking Dawm as the absolute worst one yet and here, I will tell you exactly why.
Breaking Dawn is a big fat book that consists of three different books. I will discuss the books seperately in fear that it might be too much otherwise.
Part I from Bella's point of view
It's no surprise that I actually do like this book. We get 6 chapters of sheer happiness and joy. Very much Edward/Bella intimacy and they finally have sex (woohoo). So what can I bitch about?
Well, actually not too much. I loved the wedding, the secret goodbyes (yes, I cried). I just believe that after the first 6 chapters Bella should have struggled with the decission to change instead of the pregnancy. Yes, Chapter 7 is the cursed chapter for me. It's the onset of all pending misery. Also, it is the first time that menstruations are mentioned and the weak excuse SM gave to explain the never-having-killed-her-due-to-smelling-period-blood on Edwards part is just that, weak. So, all-in-all, I hated this chapter but what comes after is exceedingly worse.
Part II from Jacob's point of view
I hate Jacob. That much hasn't changed. I hated the cold Jacob that is so prominent here very very much. Personal sun my ass. I have always loathed this POV but it offers us some interesting views on the wolves and the Quileute people. It was good to see the communication between the wolves, but it was also nonsense. The big difference between you can't hide what you think and thinking in directed full sentences became a blurry line that never really made sense to me. What was good about it, is that we saw how pure Seth's mind is and how deeply hurt and actually good Leah is. Seth, a mere teenager, is objectively one of the purest characters I have ever read and that's on that. The faint influence of the coming Gen Z was shimmering through in his defiance of made boundaries in communication: Seth saw the good in the Cullens and defied his tribes prejudice. Good for him. Leah, of course, is one of the most denied characters in the series. Such a fierce young woman that has suffered so much is the only character that does not get redemption. It is absolutely outrageous and I agree with many that it shows SMs prejudice against women of colour. She gets literally nothing. She stands on her own in a group of men that mock her for her guard as she has to suffer through knowing her ex's love for his new love. Then, of course, she cannot have children and she gets no love interests. To through all these (in SMs mind) limitations only at one of the few POC is not great. I do like the fact that Leah and Jacob become closer and that Leah cares most for Seth. It's not enough, though. Leah should have gotten the trip to go to college somewhere far away, paid for by the Cullens out of sheer gratitude. She should have everything and all but through Bella's (read: SMs) mind she is still depicted as sad, lonely and bitter. To show a woman's anger like that is straight up misogynistic. Great start.
Jacob's story skips so many valuable parts of Bella's story, which we have been focussing on until now, and it makes so little sense that Jacob would be there for all the important interactions.
In Jacob's part, some shocking facts become clear. As a biomedical scientist, I have been holding back the outrageousness of this one: the chromosomes.
Vampires are frozen in time; after the change, their bodies don't change anymore. They also don't grow new or longer hairs, new teeth, anything. They are frozen in time. Curiously, they still have a need to feed (blood) and their consumption influences four things: their thirst, the colour of their eyes, their strength and their behaviour. I will tell you why this makes absolutely no sense. In humans, we feed for much the same reasons: we don't get hungry, we stay alive, become stronger and we are nicer when we aren'r hungry. This influence is exerted by the distribution of food molecules throughout the body; to the brain, to the muscles, the organs, you name it. Vampires don't have blood, their distribution of food molecules would be so slow that it would take days if not weeks for the molecules to get to the eyes or the brain. We know vampires aren't mushy inside to increase the distribution so how does it work? It eludes me, I'll tell you. Also, every part of the vampire body is supposed to be solid. Where does the liqud from the blood go? A human averagely holds 5 litres of blood. That is a lot. And since the body doesn't change, where does the liquid go? Aside from the distribution, it makes even less sense that any of these factors should be influenced by anything at all. It is likely that vampires still have cells, their bodies still need to create impulses, movements, talk etc. But their bodies don't changes anymore, so after the change the cells stop producing hair molecules? Why don't the hairs drop anymore? It is so dumb that SM suggested a certain balance between the actiond that continue and actions that don't. We still move the muscles but they can't grow anymore but the cells in the muscle stay active?? This brings me to the chromosomes.
So, Carlisle has tested human, vampire and werewolf (without consent) blood. He found that vampires have 25 chromosome pairs, werewolves 24 and humans 23 chromosome pairs. His findings and his tone suggest that he attributes all the vampire qualities to the 2 extra chromosomes. Now, with everything that I have just explained, I see no possiblity behind that. The venom of a vampire just adds two pairs of chromosomes to your cells? One from your mother and one from your dad? And then, these chromosomes are able to pinpoint exactly with genes to silence and which to activate and that is enough to make your skin hard as granite? No way. The body makes strong pieces, but still the strongest is the teeth. Strong but not as strong as SM thinks.
All-in-all this science is straight up the biggest fucking bullshit I have ever seen. There is just no logic behind the logic SM gave. It doesn't stop here, though. No. I am 100% convinced that SM has not had any sex talk ever in her life. She started with Edward's 100-year-old sperm being vital enough to produce a baby. This sperm is saved at approxomately the temperature of a rock/as cold as ice. This is far far far too high a temperature to preserve sperm cells for long, let alone a 100 years. So, No. No, again. Then, Edward's dick is magically able to get hard without any liquids in the body? No. And THEN, his human sperm cells (human but also vampire?) are able to make a zygote with Bella's egg cell??? A zygote with 24 (!!!) chromosome pairs???? So, it's one of each of Bella's, one of each of Edward's and then just one of the two vampire pairs?????? No. Nah-ah.
I haven't been this vocal about any of my other issues, including racism and other forms of discrimination. Somehow, I have accepted that these concepts come from very well-preserved ideas and I can plainly discuss this matter. However, the pain Stephenie Meyer has put me through as a scientist is still very unknown to me and it annoys me to the core.
I suppose, while I'm on the matter, I should address the elephant in the room. Resumé. Renesue is the embodiment of everything Bella didn't need. The book should have ended before the pregnancy. A story of a woman that found a love in a vampire and she needed nothing else in her life but him. This was the story we were promissed. And then, SM takes her turn to make the last non-conservative woman in the book a mother (her being a mother will come later).
In conclusion, this part stretched every nerve in my body and made me cringe so hard I felt sick.
Part III from Bella's point of view
I'm not gonna lie, I have been pretty dark about the last part. But I LOVE Bella as a vampire. The tranquil chapters where she learns everything about being a vampire made me confident I wanted to be one. I loved Bella more confident and comfortable. I loved the new ease between Bella and Edward. Tranquil, as I said.
Of course, these chapters are overshadowed in part by Rususme. I don't mind the child. It seems nice enough - SM made it pure. But Bella is not a very caring mother. She meets her daugther and then, both Edward and her really don't mind her. They have no urge to be with her and have no trouble letting her go. They go have sex the whole night instead of looking at Relsume's dreams. Then, there is the fact that all tense and loaden discussions are held in the presence of the exceptionally perceiving child. Edward can SEE that she understands tensions. It's so fucking dumb. It really bothered me the last time I read it, maybe because I've matured or maybe because I didn't really care the first time.
When it comes to the final battle approaching, I enjoyed that. I loved Alice's plan. I like the Volturi and their grand dramatic scheming and such. I loved the new characters very much. I think they added a whole new demension to the story. I would have been there for Edward and Bella traveling around the world meeting these people with the oncoming thread of genocide for a child as well though. Of course, the racism is back. The Amazonian and Egyptian vampires are so blatantly racistly described. In that aspect, the movie deserves way more credit for giving us the straight up prettiest actors ever to cover this.
Wrongness continues as Jacob imprints (as the second wolf) in an infant. I know some people see no issue with this. SM tried to make it clear that it was just about her happiness by letting Edward see that Jacob wasn't thinking sexually about his equivalent-of-a-three-year-old child. I mean. Looking at this logically, it's disgusting and there is no changing my mind. Personally, I feel Jacob could have imprinted on any other female character (with the exception of Leah). For all I care it was a 35-year-old woman. But, reversed pedophilia (Jacob was still underage) isn't fun for SM so she sticks with what she knows.
I think I have adressed my most important issues. Please inform me if I've missed any. As usual, I urge you to inform yourself on the Quileut Tribe as it is and donate to them for SM has wronged and exploited them.

TLDR: I curse Stephenie Meyer for creating that incredibly stupid child as a way to project Jacob's love to something of Bella. Please inform yourself on the Quileute Tribe and donate to them via the links above; SM has wronged them.
As a final note, I am a biomedical scientist at heart. I am always interested in a challenging topic, so fire away.

i can't believe stephenie let that trash called el james get away without suing her. yes, it was fanfiction but when she published it it became plagiarism. ugh and she still making money off that abusive rip off of twilight's characters
That’s actually not true, and there are several published works that were once Twilight fanfiction. Several of them are pretty good, and I recommend you look into them.  As long as names, places, etc. are changed, it’s not plagiarism. It’s unfortunate that it’s true, because it gets me heated, but that’s why the book is published and where it is today. It would be plagiarism if it weren’t AH/AU. But there’s nothing about Christian and Ana that could ever bring them close to rivaling Bella and Edward, and it would have just been a waste of time and energy for Stephenie to try to stop the publication, to be honest.
What I am furious about is that it’s been stated that both FSOG and Grey are why Stephenie has put off Midnight Sun. What I do think she should be getting a cease-and-desist over is putting out the books from Christian’s POV, when it was very apparent that Stephenie was going to do that. It’s on her website. Like? What? She’s always had on her site that she’d finish it.
What I am furious about is that it’s clear E.L. James can’t do the basic research that would have been needed to write a book like this. The book itself follows the most simple of formals for a “””romance”””, but completely misses the mark when it comes to the BDSM community that, if she has ever actually engaged in, then I hope she’s gotten out of, because shit... Like, I get that Christian does eventually deny that he’s a dominant and call himself a sadist, but to go a book and a half/movie and a half referring to himself like that is what makes it gross. And then he’s suddenly Doting Daddy™. Nah, man.
Besides, if we call FSOG characters ripoffs of Twilight characters, it’s what E L Shame wants, you know? So, I just revert back to MOTU and claim the song that Taylor Swift wrote for the movie for Bella and Edward, and end there.
Also, you should remember that one of our great literary classics is a fanfic. Romeo and Juliet is fanfic of a poem. My man, Willie Shakes, barely changed their names. The poem was The Tragicall Historye of Romeus and Juliet. Bella Swan, who inspires thousands of fics herself, is in love with a fanfic.

Is there anything that reading Midnight Sun made you think about the events of Twilight differently? Like a particular segment thats just SO different from Edward’s pov that you had to sit down and reevaluate what you thought you knew?
Ah, see, funny story.
In late Spring, early Summer 2020, @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin and I got back into Twilight, to my recollection because I reread the incredible fic that is Near To You and plunged us back into the fandom's fanfiction archives.
With a renewed interest in Twilight we naturally got to discussing Twilight, and being the people we are we started coming up with theories and headcanons for Twilight, filling the gaps and coming up with explanations for why characters do the things they do.
These theories and headcanons were mad, outrageous, and completely unhinged in every way. They were also exactly the same theories and headcanons that you see on our blogs now.
(Take one example - the Muffin and I both took for granted Carlisle, Esme, and Edward knew about Rosalie's plan to kill Royce King II and friends, as that would have been impossible for her to hide. Since she spread the kills out over the course of a week as opposed to a one night extravaganza, we also assumed that they did not attempt to get in her way. Meanwhile, from the fics I've read it appears to have been fandom consensus that they either disapproved and wanted to stop her, or they flat out didn't know what she was going to do.
Come Midnight Sun, and we learn that not only did Carlisle know about it and let it happen, he aided her.
God, that sweet sweet rush of vindication.)
You see, when Midnight Sun came out, we thought... well I don't recall specifically what we thought, but I think we were mostly intrigued with what Meyer would make of it. She created Edward, let's see what her POV of the guy is like. Could be a total miss, of course.
Well.
Turns out, Midnight Sun was exactly canon as we saw it. It validated our every thought about not just Edward, but Bella, the Cullens, about the very world of Twilight.
It was completely unreal, I can't stress that enough. Imagine if JKR dropped a Tom Riddle book and he's this depressed, tragic character who carries no prejudice against Muggles and he had no baby Death Eaters in Hogwarts(can't find the link).
Wouldn't happen, right?
Yet, it did with Edward.
The Muffin and I had our completely wild theories, and then Stephenie Meyer didn't just confirm them, she doubled down and said "Actually, ladies, you should have ordered another pizza box." because in a lot of cases we had in fact been too conservative in our estimates. Meyer went further than we would have dared. (Carlisle helping Rosalie is a good example of that.)
To bring back the JKR example, imagine that the Tom Riddle book she releases has Tom spend his free time volunteering for the Red Cross.
It was wild, I don't think I'll ever experience anything quite like it ever again.
