Jaune the Strategist
Jaune: Um… General Ironwood? I have a question.
Ironwood: What is it Mr. Arc?
Jaune: Why not release the video footage of Tyrian killing a bunch of people?
Clover: Are you crazy? If we release such a video it cause panic in Mantle.
Jaune: I hear you. But... isn’t the Atlas military already being framed for countless murders?
Ironwood: Yes.
Jaune: And no one in Mantle is willing to follow protocol because they don’t trust us right?
Ironwood: Well... yes.
Jaune: Okay. So why not use this to our advantage?
Ruby: Explain.
Jaune: I mean come on. Seriously? We have proof. We have video display. And if this has been happening for a while then we have dead bodies that can hold our case.
Ironwood: Mr. Arc, I’m going to need you to further elaboration.
Jaune: What’s there to- Look, Tyrian has been killing people for a while, right?
Qrow: Yeah.
Jaune: We have video proof that he committed the massacre at Robin’s party. We could just report this and clear Penny’s name.
Ironwood: That is true.
Jaune: Plus with the few bodies Tyrian left behind, which I’m hoping your Atlas soldiers investigated completely. Like the time and location of death. As well as how they died. Basically if Tyrian left multiple victims, can’t we compare them to the other corpses from the party.
Ironwood: Huh.
Jaune: Not only that but Tyrian has a poisonous tail. Didn’t some of them have a hint poison consumed or at least small pick to their bodies.
Ironwood: Oh. That is something to consider.
Clover: Okay, but still doesn’t change the fact if we tell the people a killer is on the loose it will cause panic.
Jaune: True. But it could also make people listen. Think about it, they’re already being invaded by grimm everyday. And now they have killer amongest them. Wouldn’t that force them to reconsider they’re options?
Clover: … My… My Oum he could right.
Marrow: Okay but what about Robyn?
Jaune: Mantle’s Champion? Happy Huntresses? Are you serious? Do you honestly think she would not make a killer her top priority?
Marrow: Huh.
Jaune: I’m just saying, why are we keeping this under raps and quickly turning to Martial law?
Ironwood: Wow… anything else Mr.Arc
Jaune: Why frame Penny?
Ruby: She’s the Protector of Mantle.
Jaune: She also a robot. With a human soul. Who recorded everything! Who so far never got hacked? So why her specifically? If anything I would have got Penny out the way and framed one of the Ace-ops. Specifically Marrow. Hell why not frame Robyn herself?
Marrow: Whoa why me?
Jaune: You know why.
Blake: But tell us why.
Ironwood: Damn he’s right. That absolutely makes sense considering he’s a Faunus and recent member of the Ace ops.
Jaune: Exactly.
Blake: Are you two serious?!
Jaune: Blake think about how much conflict that would cause. A faunus in the Atlas military. An Ace operative killed and injured a bunch of innocent people. Humans and faunuses mind you. Not only would that cause division amongest the people of Mantle but the school and the soldiers.
Ironwood: He’s right. We have faunases who attend this school and are apart our units.
Jaune: It’ll be chaos. Racism and Hatred in the air. And with that much negativity the grimm attacks would be sky rocketing to the masses. Screw trying to get Amity Arena up we might as well have focused our time on containment. Hell that would been a better reason to initiate Martial law. Something I think Robyn would agree to. Considering Fiona is a faunus and her teammate.
Ironwood: So basically framing Penny was-
Jaune: A stupid idea? ABSO-FREAKEN-LUTLY!! Who ever made this plan had to be dumb as bricks.
Watts: *sneezes*
Jaune: I’m mean now I might as well ask this question. Has anyone ever disagreed with Penny’s creation?
Ironwood: I mean-… ... actually... yes we had a few people who disagreed.
Jaune: Also if you have a file for Tyrian, then what about Cinder, Emerald, Mercury or Hazel?
Ironwood: Why yes we---- Hold up. You all saw Hazel?
Jaune: Yeah.
Ironwood: And you survived?
Nora: Yes. Though with our tails between our legs. How do you know him?
Ironwood: How do you think I lost half of my body?
Jaune: Damn. And I thought Ren and Qrow had it worse. How powerful is he?
Ironwood: He crippled Ozpin.
Oscar: (And he said he stood a chance. He could’ve killed us both.)
Jaune: (We’ll most definitely need to jump him.) An-anyways, back on topic. So, who out all the other people were against the Penny project? Simply put who hates Pietro the most?
Ironwood: Well… there was Professor Watts.
Jaune: Professor Watts?
Ironwood: He was an inventor as well. He was even to soul creator of the Atlas robots you’re associated with. However he died in accident.
Jaune: How long ago?
Ironwood: Months ago?
Jaune: Okay now that’s weird.
Weiss: So what Jaune? He died.
Winter: Yes but I understand why Mr.Arc is suspicious. In Cinder’s file, after committing four first degree murders she disappeared.
Jaune: Then she suddenly appears back at Beacon with a way to hack the military.
Clover: Tyrian was captured but then escaped and he disappeared as well.
Qrow: Then he came out nowhere and tried to capture Ruby.
Ironwood: Hazel disappeared once too.
Oscar: And then I saw him on my way to Mistral.
Jaune: Is any of this making sense?
Ironwood: Yes. Clover I need you to follow up on some the victims of the previous crimes. And Winter I need you look into Watt’s case. Lets make sure he’s dead. If not we need evidence.
Winter: Yes sir.
Ironwood: Well, Mr. Arc it seem I underestimated your intelligence. I will not call in Martial law.
Jaune: No-no. Keep it in mind.
Nora: SAY WHAT?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE TRYING TO AVOID IT!!
Jaune: I am. But Robyn could still cause trouble for us down the road. We need to be ready when she could take things too far.
Nora: But-
Ironwood: It’s only if she continues to be an obstacle.
Nora: *silent*
Ironwood: Alright. Everyone back to work. Keep an eye out for Tyrian. And if you learn anything you report to me immediately.
Ace-ops: Yes sir.
Ren: Yes sir.
*JNPR Dorm Room*
Nora: Jaune, I can’t believe you sided with Ironwood.
Ren: Nora, it is a constitutions plan. It’s not going to happen.
Nora: I’m just saying the people of Mantle are already having a hard time.
Ren: I understand but-
Nora: But what? That getting Amity Arena up is more important than helping the people.
Ren: What about the world? What about all of Remnant?
Nora: How can help the world if we can’t help a country?!
Ren: We can’t always focus on the small things Nora. We need to consider the bigger picture.
Nora: So after all we’ve been through before you want to throw that away?
Ren That not what I’m saying. I-
Jaune: ENOUGH!!
Jaune: Please. Stop arguing.
Ren: Jaune, look I want to say-
Jaune: Stop. Sit. Both of you.
Nara and Ren: *sit separately from each other*
Jaune: Look, Nora, I understand. I know Mantle going through hard times. Due to the trading routes and transportation being limited, people are starting to struggle to get in and out of city. Stores and companies are closed so people are having trouble finding work. And without work, they can’t make money. And without money they can’t pay rent nor provide for their families. Basically majority of those people might as well not have homes soon.
Nora: Then you know why Martial law can’t happen. It will make things worse.
Jaune: Yes. That is why I would rather keep it as a last resort. However, with Mantle’s lack of funding and resources, I almost can’t blame Robyn for what’s she’s doing. However, two wrongs don’t make a right.
Nora: Hmm.
Ren: Well said Jaune.
Jaune: And you. Don’t think I’m openly siding with Ironwood. I only did that because I need everyone on the same page.
Ren: Jaune.
Jaune: At Beacon, Amber, Ozpin and Pyrrha died. Then the world got divide. Mistral, we almost died.
Nora: We survived.
Jaune: Through the skin of our teeth Nora! We got lucky! And Hazel, Emerald and Mercury stilled escaped!
Nora: *hates when he’s right*
Jaune: Now Tyrian is here. And even if my theory on Watts is correct, we still don’t know what they’re up to. Not to mention, we’re keeping secrets too. Especially, about Salem., who may have sent them here to retrieve the lamp. And worse, kill Oscar.
Nora and Ren: … … …
Jaune: Look… … Basically what I’m saying we need to be careful. We are no longer students. We are hunters. Every move we make could jeopardize what we are trying to accomplish. Even the people we trust could be a problem if we’re not careful.
Nora: So you don’t trust Ruby?
Jaune: Yeah. But keeping these secrets could get us in trouble, or most likely, have a gun to our heads. And Ironwood has plenty of them compared to us.
Ren: So what should we do?
Jaune: We do what we started this journey for. We search for answers.

OK this one's going out to @redfurrycat specifically. I just finished watching this movie, so I'm on a high, so bear with me....
"Sleepless in Seattle" IceMav AU
Bradley Bradshaw is eight years old. His biological father, Nick Bradshaw, passed away a year ago, leaving Bradley to be raised by his partner, Pete Mitchell.
Ever since Nick passed away, Pete has basically been a recluse. He raises Bradley the best he can, and goes to work, but he doesn't spend time with friends very much, and he definitely doesn't date.
Bradley is worried about his Uncle Pete, and believes he should move on and start dating again. But he doesn't know how to help his uncle get past his loneliness, so he does what he thinks is the most logical thing - and calls in to a psychiatrist's radio show for advice.
Tom Kazansky is halfway across the country, driving to his fiance's parents house for Christmas, when he hears Bradley calling in to Dr. Penny Benjamin's show on satellite radio. He is instantly charmed (and saddened) by this young child who wants so badly for his guardian to get out there and meet someone new, so he won't be lonely anymore.
After Bradley talks to Dr. Penny for a few minutes, Penny asks Bradley if he can put his uncle on the phone. Tom is floored by the cajones on this woman, and as he listens, he discovers that Pete Mitchell is too. The guy definitely doesn't sound appreciative of being asked about his personal life, on a radio show, by a complete stranger. But after a couple of minutes, Pete starts to open up about Nick, and how much he and Bradley miss him, and how much he loved him - and how these days, the best he can do is tell himself to get out of bed, and remind himself how to breathe, and hope that not all days will be as difficult as these ones have been.
Tom is in tears by the end of the segment. He is so moved by Pete and Bradley, and somehow so drawn to Pete, even though he'd only heard his voice. He doesn't know what he looks like, he doesn't know anything about him, except that he's recently widowed (why do they call it widowed if you're a widower? They should call it widowered, shouldn't they?), and that he's raising what sounds like really great kid.
In the days that follow the radio show, Pete receives thousands of letters and emails from people who want to date him. He thinks the whole idea is nuts and refuses to look at any of them, but Bradley pours through them, intent on finding a new love for Pete, and a new step-parent for himself.
Tom tries to go on with his regular life - his fiance, his job, his friends - but he cannot get Pete Mitchell out of his mind. Which is RIDICULOUS, because he lives hundreds of miles away, and damnit TOM IS ENGAGED!
...But somehow that doesn't stop Tom from looking up all he can about Pete Mitchell. He considers even going to his home address to meet him (you can find anything on the internet now...if you hack a few databases, it's so creepy!).
...In the end, despite his location, and his fiance, and the fact that everything could crash and burn in one foul swoop, Tom decides to send a letter.
He's inspired by his favourite romantic movie, An Affair to Remember. And after he tell Pete a few things about himself, he writes that he would love to meet him on top of the Empire State Building in New York City, on Valentine's Day.
A few days later, in Pete and Bradley's house, Bradley rushes into Pete's bedroom holding Tom's letter.
"This one!" Bradley exclaims. "Tom's the one I like!"

Yandere Arven head cannons (AU), credits to @weirdthinkingdragon for the idea. Possessive behavior, mentions of violence of course, slow corruption:
Arven has never had another person care for him as much as you. He loves how you always pay attention to him, and act like you belong to him.
This process would go as a pure heart to slow corruption. Just simple flirting with you from any classmates (from being Champion) first only annoy him. They’re not doing anything wrong… right? Until it gets to the point where he wants to bash their skulls into the wall, keeping them there as warnings for all others to approach you.
Arven realizes his treasure all along from the assignment of the Treasure Hunt was you. You are your upperclassman’s treasure… isn’t that sweet…?
When you’re with Nemona or Penny, even praising their skills of hacking and battling… he feels an urge to pull you away. He’ll find any excuse, from Nemona apparently teaching you a way to “cheat,” or accusing Penny of wasting your time. He doesn’t get as violent with him, as Arven knows you’d be saddened if something were to happen to your friends.
He’s quite possessive. A common phrase whenever you’re in a busy conversation with classmates is “Sorry, I’m going to have to take my stuff,” and leave by dragging you across the room.
Cuddles. Arven loves feeling the warmth of the one he treasures the most (in this au at least). He might occasionally pull you into an embrace, only to rest his head on your shoulder.
Naive mind. One thing that Arven doesn’t know, is that this behavior isn’t normal for friends. He thinks this is normal for any friend. He thinks wanting to silence others just for only attention of that certain friend is normal. He thinks it’s normal wanting to have a habit of constant obsession with friend.
Nemona and Penny don’t realize Arven’s behaviors right away. But slowly, as the middle of the year comes by… they question why some classmates, some who interact with you, ignore you. They watch, fear settling in their chest as Arven can be seen looking at those who even get near you. Near his treasure.
If Nemona or Penny realize this behavior soon enough, they might try to leave Arven behind. That means excluding him from your life, exiting in large groups, or having their Rotom phones record on.
Arven may realize what they’re doing. He will find a way to silence them from telling any teacher or Director Clavell. He will attack them if he needs to.
Question of the Day: Want me to make a Yandere Arven x Reader fic? Self insert for someone? An audience?

xf rewatch: ghost in the machine
This one was interesting to watch in light, obviously, of the current AI moment. Like, Deep Throat goes "how much do you know about ''''artificial intelligence''''?" and Mulder says "I thought it was only theoretical." You did? And then a minute later DT describes "a learning machine….a computer that actually THINKS." like hold up there fella! There's quite the gulf between THOSE two things but I suppose we don't really know that yet back now. Even Mulder saying "could someone have ''''''''hacked'''''''' into the system?" like this is the most out-there idea of all time, and instead of going, duh yes, hacking into the system is indeed something that someone could most certainly have done, Brad says "not your average phone phreak, that's for sure." remember phone phreaking?? neither do I because I'm old but I'm not THAT old. I heard an interesting podcast ep about it semi-recently though. Like you could make a noise with your VOICE that was the same pitch as some note the phone plays and it tricks it into connecting you to a long-distance line or something. neat stuff. anyway.
The computer stuff wasn't AS ridiculous as I remembered, but I also wonder if the farther we get from the time period the more I'm like, sure that seems like it could have been true back then I guess. At least, it seemed to more or less follow from a story perspective (but maybe that's what makes it so unrealistic in a tech way). Things that DID stick out to me included the following:
1. all those security cameras seem so RICKETY. They're all just stickin out there servo-ing jerkily around out in the air, just hit that shit down with a shovel and be done with it. Mulder dramatically covers one with a cloth and I was like, great now you only have to do that 9,000 more times in this building.
2. the superintelligent AI is courteous enough to jingle Scully up on her landline at 1:31 am to screech modem noises at her in order to give her a heads up that it's hacking into her computer at that moment (for what purpose? how is reading her reports on Mulder any help to it…ehh whatever).
3. Gordon/Gansa really running through the scifi "homages" with Conduit being very heavily Contact-by-Sagan-based and this one developing a voice solely so it could say things like "program……. EXECUTED GET IT" and "sorry Dave Brad, I can't do that."
4. I did certainly feel that the computer was "thinking" QUITE a lot more outside the box than seemed even marginally realistic (and per what I have read about machine learning, not that I am remotely close to being an expert on any of that). It sure got a LOT of info from filming people with its analog(?) security cameras and like, extrapolating from what it observed. The way it halted the elevator so Scully would call security and identify herself when she did so, so that it could learn her name and start googling (forgive me) her? I mean now that is some high-level strategizing. I feel Janelle Shane would not approve.
Other notes from my "notes":
Penny Northern as the lady congratulating Jerry on his profile that he stole from Mulder.
Scully's hair is slowly getting unfortunate. That swingy little Deep Throat floofy bob remains my favorite so far.
Nancy Spiller forensics instructor at the academy, "we used to call her the iron maiden!" Every time Scully mentions or interacts with a professor now I wonder if she fucked them. Heheh (EDIT: I just realized Penny Northern IS Nancy Spiller. !!! Still wonder if Scully fucked her)
This ep contains the iconique moment of Scully emphatically circling something on a computer monitor with a physical writing implement. (Also that whole mapping the voices together situation was very goofy and also pointless — if the system had a voice why wouldn't it be Brad's voice; he invented it.)
This is the first ep thus far that I've found Scully's Scullying kind of irritating. It seems very obvious that Brad did not do it so her being like "mulder I'm sorry you're so sad about your shitty friend dying that you can't think straight" feels condescending instead of sympathetic. "maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if you talked to someone." "you're probably right." *leaves* "where are you going?" "to talk to someone." yeah you deserved that, sculls.
Failed mulderisms: "open sesame." I'm not offended by it or anything it's just so weak as to barely rise to the level of joke. Also, it has ALWAYS and I mean since the 90s grated on me that he scoffs "a politically correct elevator" because the elevator is being so outrageously, offensively woke as to… announce the floor numbers??? ok boomer!!! lord
Scully's got this book in bed with her. analyze as you will.
Pretty impressive how Mulder knows how to whip open a car hood and immediately rip the correct wire to get the horn to shut up.
Greatly enjoyed the This echo of them climbing stairs and yelling out numbers while doing so. Also, they are so young and athletic; sure they can go up 30 flights of stairs and then Scully is totally game to be hoisted into a ceiling vent and crawl around up there. J. Edgar's finest, at the top of their physical game!
I got so mad when Mulder goes "he apologized. in his own way" about Jerry. he literally did not even come close to apologizing! he said fuck you I stole your notes because you were gonna help me anyway so who cares, shut up, and then he stomped off. In no universe is that an apology of even the worst sort. Jerry sucks.
this house:
Tumblr media
(literal photo of tv taken from couch, too lazy to even get up)
is ugly as shit, and I was making fun of it saying that it looked like a suburban convention center and bar mitzvah venue instead of a rich tech guy's sleek futuristic mansion and wondering if they filmed it at like, a Days Inn, but I was informed it was actually the home of a star Canucks player?? well he had terrible taste.
Finally, I remain FASCINATED with watching Mulder and Scully Work In An Office and interact with other people in the office and do office things like eat pastries off a cart! and hang out in what looks like the FBI archives! This set:
Tumblr media
is so endearingly normcore-office to me. The library cart with archive boxes and also some other loose crap on it. All the haphazardly sized shelves from Staples with random mugs that no one wants so someone just sticks them on a bookshelf. Stacks of copy paper. A whole bunch of plants, some of which are dead, and also featuring at least 2 empty vases. The industrial tissue box. Someone did a very good job with this set dec is what I'm saying. Ok, the "INVOICES" folder is a little funny.
This is almost a workplace drama at this point in its life and I am a little bit obsessed with that. What is Fran gonna say about M&S smashing up that car. Smh.

Vee-Vee Power! A Penny Analysis
Just a heads up I'll probably be revisiting this analysis once we get the Scarlet/Violet DLC because likely there will be more insights to Penny's character.
Tumblr media
Alright so Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has probably introduced the most beloved friend group series that the franchise by the fandom standards in Penny, Arven, and Nemona. Both Arven and Nemona have had analysis on them but there's not that much going around for Penny who is my personal favorite of the three.
Let's start with Penny's name. Or names I should say since she ends up going by two different monikers. There's her given name Penny and her pseudonym Cassiopeia when she was the mysterious shadow head for Team Star. Penny comes from Peony and she's funnily the third character in the franchise to have her name based on this flower. Peonies symbolize many things such as shame, bashfulness, honor, and bravery. All of these apply to Penny to at some point during her story. One of the first things we realize about her is that she's quite bashful and quiet as a person. She even mentions at one point that's she's not used to speaking so much and that her throat hurts. While Team Star is huge source of pride for her, it also brings a bit of her shame as she feels that the group has gotten out of control and she feels bad that her friends may get expelled. She's also rather honorable in trying to take the fall for her friends once the initial fallout with the confrontation of the bullies takes place. And she's even willing to admit to hacking the LP system (which in and of itself isn't honorable but owning up to it is). And she demonstrates an immense amount of bravery in taking the fall for her friends, learning to come out of her shell and face the player to dissolve Team Star and then going down into Area Zero.
But then she has another name she goes by…Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia is the name of a major constellation named after a prominent figure in Greek Mythology. Cassiopeia was a nymph who boasted too much about her and her daughter's beauty which invoked the wrath of Poseidon who threatened to destroy the kingdom of Ethiopia (accounts vary as to whether he vowed to flood it or use the monster Cetus to destroy it). Cassiopeia, realizing that she messed up, consults the oracle who tells her she needs to sacrifice her daughter. Andromeda was chained to a rock but ultimately saved by Perseus. The gods, still not satisfied decide to put Cassiopeia into the heavens as the constellation as further punishment (and the names of 5 major stars that make up the constellation Cassiopeia are the same names of the Team Star bases)
Now what does ANY of that have to do with our resident Eeveelution enthusiast? Well if you strip both the Cassiopeia Myth and Penny's story down to the bare essentials, they're both about women who have to sacrifice something they love in order to save a greater population of people and end up getting punished harsher. Penny attempts to disband (therefore sacrifice) Team Star in order to protect all of the other Team star members (both admins and grunts). And out of all of those involved she had to be sent away to Galar, and then had some extra community service for her hacking of the league.
Alright now let's get down to her team makeup. She's notable in being the only single trainer in the canon to use all Eeveelutions (the Kimono sisters of Johto and the Eevee trainers of Alola are a collection of trainers who use one Eeveelution a piece but not a whole set). This certainly shows that she really likes the Eevee Line, but there's more to it. The eeveelution family is at this point synonymous to the idea of having multiple paths ahead of you (as we've seen in the anime with Chloe). So that implies Penny has a lot of paths still open for her and that's she changing. Indeed she does a change quite a bit through the story, albeit subtly.
One thing that stood out to me was that three out of her six Pokemon actually correspond to three of the types of the Team Star bases: fire, dark, and fairy. What's more when you look at who runs those bases (Mela, Giacomo and Ortega) you realize that Penny actually calls those three by nicknames (Mellie, Momo, and Ortie) suggesting potential closeness to those three in particular.
It's also notable that her first and last Pokemon, Umbreon and Sylveon evolve by friendship (at night) and high affection (with a fairy type move). It shows that's she's a very caring trainer and most likely a night owl who also likes cute things (which is very confirmed with an entire team off eeveelutions who all happen to know Baby-Doll eyes and Quick attack). She also clearly values friendship which explains how 1/3 of her team is comprised of Pokemon who happen to evolve by actually liking their trainer.
Now onto Penny in the story. We first meet her, ironically being harassed by her own grunts with them none the wiser that the girl they were pushing to join Team Star was their enigmatic leader. This is a major scene as it establishes Penny as a shy girl who struggles to stand up for herself. But also this proves to be a major catalyst for her wanting to disband Team Star. After all, Team Star was meant to protect kids from bullies, but now they were acting like the very people they despised. Now granted as we know in flashbacks from later on in the game there was already heat on Team Star from the school admin so the idea of trying to save her friends by disbanding the team was already on her mind. But feeling the effects of Team Star firsthand (seeing how at least the grunt level, they had lost their way) and seeing the player defeat them gives her the idea of how to dissolve the team.
We learn later that Team Star had created a code that prevented anyone from ordering each other around. Which makes a lot a sense given that Giacomo (the one who helped to create the code) had experienced the negative affects of having the power to order others around. But also it reflects the reality of how in grade school, certain cliques tend to have one person order others around which can be a perfect breeding ground for bullying to start. Since Team Star was founded on the concept of anti-bullying it makes sense that the members would try to avoid any situation where bullying could take place. The fact that Penny respects this code and seeks to use that to get Team Star to disband rather than just outright ordering them or some other method of forcing them shows how much they mean to her and how honorable she is deep down
"Team Star is a group of troublemakers formed by some academy students a while back… They cause headaches for the school and try to bring other students down to their level. And I refuse to sit idly by and let them get away with it!"
This is an interesting line when you look back the Starfall Street Story-line because it initially makes you think that the rumors are right about Team Star, especially after you see them harassing Penny earlier. That they are a bunch of bullies. Perhaps at that moment Penny was feeling a bit (rightfully) upset at how her group had changed since she was gone for those eighteen months. Or perhaps she was really just trying to play up the rumor side in order to get the player to agree. Either way when you see how she talks about Team Star later on it's actually a bit jarring to think about this line early on in the game where she seems to hold the same opinions of Team Star that the rest of the student body and administration do.
One thing to note when we're introduced to Penny as Cassiopeia we noticed a slight change in her dialogue. She sounds far more confident, she's able to talk for longer times than she does when we meet her as the supply rep. It makes sense as a lot of people who are quiet in real life tend to be better able to communicate behind the screen (or in Penny's case, hack your Rotom Phone).
Also, both Cassiopeia's first entrance and "supply rep" Penny both mention hacking upon introducing themselves which is nice foreshadowing to the fact that they are indeed the same person.
When you meet Penny as the supply rep for the first time she thanks you for helping her out back at the stairs to which you can reply that you remember or that you don't. And she says a really sad line if you mention that you don't
"That figures. I never leave an impression on people…"
That really broke my heart. It's unfortunately a common feeling for people who have been bullied. Yeah they're targets they're often made to feel invisible when they are not being made fun of.
As we meet up with Clive we start to see Penny's suspicion of this "student" that wants to join. I know there are people who don't care for Penny and cite that she is a little mean, her early treatment of Clive being one example people point out. To be honest, I personally do not see this as her being mean. Rather's she being rightly cautious about who she let's on. Yes, she wants to bring down Team Star, but she still cares for them and she knows how much of the school dislikes them. She couldn't ascertain if Clive had been one of the bullies' friends who just wanted to seek revenge. This is different from the player who doesn't have the same long term knowledge of them team therefore a little bit more trustworthy. And over time she does truly begin to trust Clive and apologizes for the early wariness
As we go through Operation Starfall, we get some really nice insight into Penny's character both as herself and as Cassiopeia. As we approach each base we get really detailed info on the boss from Cassiopeia which at first with just the knowledge of her hacking skills you could assume this just her getting information from social media. That is until you beat the boss and she sounds like she's mourning their defeat to which she always mentions she's caught up in her thoughts. This shows that there's far more to this story than meets the eye which should be raising your suspicion of Cassiopeia. Indeed Clive even asks the player how much you trust them.
Things really come to ahead by the fourth base the player defeats where we learn this
"…As you know, Team Star was formed by a group of students who were being bullied at school. Shortly after forming the team, these students—none other than the squad bosses themselves—confronted their bullies head on. The outcome was a resounding victory for Team Star… Though you could hardly call it a contest. The bullies didn't even put up a fight. They all bolted from battle the first chance they got. Scared spitless of Team Star, the bullies then dropped out of school, one after another… And Team Star ended up the villains of the story. …But that's neither here nor there. Forget I mentioned it."
This quote not only sheds light on what really happened with Team Star (which was being confirmed anyways by the bosses that have been defeated) but it's also meant to bring into question why is Cassiopeia so determined to bring them down knowing that Team Star weren't the ones in the wrong.
Meanwhile as we continue to meet Penny as the supply rep we notice that Koraidon/Miraidon continues to pop out of it's ball to greet her with an affectionate lick. Something we don't see the dragon do with either Arven or Nemona. Given the suspicion that should be surrounding her by the time we get to the big reveal it makes sense why we see this take place. To let us know that deep down Penny is still a good person based on the dragon showing instant affection to her. That and perhaps the dragon sees itself in Penny as we learn in the Area Zero content that Koraidon/Miraidon itself are also struggling to stand up much like Penny is struggling to stand up to be her authentic self.
When we get to the final reveal in the schoolyard we're treated to this quote
""Heh. This must be quite a shock for you. The big boss… Cassiopeia… They were both me all along. When I saw you make quick work of those Team Star lackeys outside school that time, the idea for Operation Starfall suddenly came to me. My skills let me get hold of as much LP as I want, so I decided to use that to tempt you to helping me out. After the operation started, I kept an eye on you as a member of the "supply unit"… And I had you battle the bosses on my behalf. All for the goal of defeating me and putting an end to Team Star once and for all. But still…there's a part of me that wants Team Star to live on! I can't just roll over and let you win without putting up a fight! This is the final showdown. Are you ready?"
This is another point where people bring up Penny being a bad person because she was manipulative in her own goal. And yes to be fair she was underhanded but it's understandable given her backstory as to why she goes for more indirect confrontation methods. Like this is someone who doesn't like the spotlight and has struggled with confrontation. Plus she's really torn about this whole plot because the Team Star admins are her friends. She even says she doesn't really want to disband them. But she feels she has to in order to save her friends
After all, we see in the flashback once the Operation Star was a success that she tried to get them to disband to avoid further punishment. To which the others decided not to. At that point we see that she ends up taking the blame onto herself to protect her friends. This is why I don't necessarily get why people call her selfish. That's pretty unselfish to take on the blame and be willing to be sent of for a whole 18 months.
"I'm the big boss of Team Star. The name's Cassiopeia—No…Penny!"
This is another major quote that I think is underrated. You can see that she's now fighting between the two identities she holds. Cassiopeia, the enigmatic leader of Team Star and Penny her true self she's not been able to show authentically
"Time to Terastallize! Shine bright like the starry sky and become who you really want to be!"
Again this further supports the idea that after Operation Starfall, she's really wanting to be her most authentic self
The reunion (and truly first meeting) between her and the Team Star Admin is really touching to see. Her finally meeting them face to face, and them forgiving her after what she did. They realized that despite the underhanded method, she was really just trying to look out for them.
After the final showdown we see Penny own up to more of her crimes. Which she didn't have to do, but it shows that deep down she's an honorable person whose done some questionable things. And again this directly contrasts the idea that she's selfish as she could've just not owned up to hacking the LP system. Some people dislike the fact that she seems to get off easy but to be fair she already had been sent away for 18 months previously. And as much as Operation Starfall street was a lesson for Penny, it was also a lesson for Clive/Clavell who was about to straight up expel everyone involve with him learning to be more observant before taking drastic measures.
We meet Penny again in Area Zero and this is where a lot of people kind of find her interactions with Nemona and Arven to be mean-spirited. Now true she is snarky here but you can see it as a way of keeping her guard up which is something many people who have been bullied may do. Not to mention both Nemona and Arven come off strong with Nemona being a little too extroverted and not reading the room and Arven actually starts in on her first by calling her pipsqueak which would actually send her onto the defensive. I think people forget that there are three socially awkward kids meeting for the first time going into an incredibly dangerous and off-limits area. That wasn't going to be just a smooth nice interaction and again Nemona and Arven had some not-so-great moments down there as well.
To her credit Penny actually does apologize to Arven (and Arven does the same) and she has a bit more situation awareness of what was going on with Koraidon/Miraidon when they meet their very aggressive counterpart. She even actually tries to give Arven some words of sympathy once we know the true fate of the professor.
People also give her flak for her calling her father annoying for checking in on her and giving her an embarassing nickname (Pen-Pen). Yes she doesn't have it nearly as bad as Nemona or Arven, but she is a teenager. Most teenagers tend to find their parents annoying. So it's a very realistic remark from her even if she doesn't familial problems on the scale of others.
In the post-game we see her checking up on the former Team Star admins as they work to reintegrate themselves back into academy which acts as one final bit of growth for Penny. She's concerned given the reputation of Team Star and the fact that the admins are like her rather awkward. However her worries a little misplaced as despite their awkwardness, the admins are able to make a name for themselves outside of Team Star. She recognizes this herself and she ultimately stops tailing her friends knowing they'll be alright
Penny isn't perfect, but she's trying her best to change for the better. The narrative acknowledges this and that's why I really appreciate her as a character.

this was prompted by my darling Maeve!!! (seriously, I have absolutely no fucking clue what I would do without Maeve in my life. a literal angel.)
also yes I have a backlog of prompts that I should fill, but YES I am always taking more prompts if you have them!!
----------
“Penelope, do you really need a bag that big?”
She hugged her arms around her tote bag. “Yes!” she said. “I have nine peoples’ worth of snacks in here.”
Dave locked his car doors. “Well, everyone had better finish all their snacks before they get back in my car after this, because there’s no eating allowed,” he announced.
“Yeah, we know, Grandpa,” Emily said. He rolled his eyes.
“I’ll just ride back in James’s car, he’ll let us eat,” Derek said.
“Good luck prying the Wonder Twins and their baby out of there,” Emily said. “Trust me, I’ve tried. I keep telling them I can squish into the backseat middle, but they keep saying that there’s no room for me.”
JJ blew a bubble and snapped her gum. “I just hope they don't ask to check your bag when we get in there,” she said. “You’re not supposed to bring in outside food and drinks to a movie theater.”
Penelope’s mouth dropped open. “They won’t get me in trouble, will they?” she said. “I’m just a little girl with a few pieces of candy.”
“You have the entire Willy Wonka factory in there, Penny,” Dave said.
She stood in the middle of the parking lot as they walked away. “Guys, I won’t get in trouble, right?” she called. “Guys?”
“Come on, Pen, you’re standing in the middle of the road.”
She hurried to catch up; the other half of the group was waiting on the sidewalk. “There you guys are,” James said. “Whoa, Penny. That’s…that's a big bag.”
“It’s not that noticeable, is it?” she said.
“Spencer could use that as a sleeping bag,” Aaron said dryly.
Spencer made a face. “I’m not that little,” he said.
“We should probably go if we want to get popcorn before the movie,” Alex said.
“Are we going to need any?” JJ said. “With all the stuff Penelope is sneaking in for us?”
“Oh, definitely,” Derek said.
Penelope’s heart was beating so loudly she was sure the theater employees could hear it. Maybe she had a glowing neon sign above her head- ask me about the illegal candy in my bag!
“Penny, stop looking so guilty,” Dave whispered.
“But I am guilty,” she whispered back.
“It was your idea to bring all this candy.”
“Stop talking about it!”
“Well, then stop looking so guilty!”
She hugged the bag to her chest and hid herself behind Derek. He shook his head, grinning, and handed her ticket to the bored employee along with his.
Once they were safely into the theater she exhaled loudly. “I was not cut out for a life of crime,” she said.
“I don’t think that counts as a crime,” JJ said. “Besides…haven’t you gotten in trouble like a million times for hacking computers?”
“That’s different,” Penelope said. “I’m going to go sit in the theater. Can somebody come with me?”
“Yeah, yeah, I will,” Emily said. “I’ll be your fall guy if they catch you. I’d do better in prison than you would.” Penelope’s eyes widened. “They’re not going to send you to prison, Pen, it’s a joke.”
Still, she didn’t feel completely secure until she was safely seated in the theater, her bag of contraband settled on her lap. She waited for the rest of the kids to make their way to their seats with their popcorn, half watching the preshow on the screen and half scanning for theater employees.
“Dave, I think you have more butter than popcorn,” Aaron said.
“What’s the point of getting movie theater popcorn if you don’t dump a ton of extra movie theater butter on it?” Dave protested.
“It’s not really butter, most theaters use a coconut oil blend,” Spencer said.
“Yeah, well, it’s still delicious.”
Alex sat down, and Spencer immediately plunked down in the seat beside her, nudging James out of his way. “Uh…could I sit next to Alex, please?” he said.
“No, thank you, I’d like to sit here,” Spencer said.
Penelope bit back a giggle at the look of tragic desperation on his face. “Do you want to sit on her other side, so you can be between the twins?” James suggested.
“Yeah, you can sit over here, Bug,” Aaron said.
“No, thank you,” Spencer said.
Alex covered Spencer’s ears. “Don’t worry, babe, he’ll fall asleep twenty minutes into the movie and then I can give him to Aaron,” she whispered.
Spencer squirmed around and frowned at her. “What did you say?”
“Nothing, darling.”
Penelope opened up her bag. “All right, I think we’re safe,” she said. “I think I have everything. I’ve got Milk Duds for Derek-“
JJ made a face. “I think we need to start calling you Grandpa instead of Dave.”
“Hey!” Derek protested.
“Thank god,” Dave said.
“Junior Mints for JJ-“
“Ew, that’s like eating chocolate covered toothpaste,” Derek said.
“Milk Duds are basically chocolate covered cement, so who’s the real loser here?”
Penelope kept digging around in her bag. “Black licorice for Emily…”
Dave, JJ, and Derek stared at her. She shrugged. “It’ll turn my mouth black,” she said.
“I’ve got a single can of ginger ale for Hotch, which…that’s just very sad,” Penelope said. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Aaron said.
“His tummy hurts and he’s being very brave about it,” Alex said. He huffed in annoyance.
Penelope held up two packets of candy. “Skittles for Spencer and M&Ms for James,” she said.
“Thanks, Pen,” James said as he ripped it open and poured it into his popcorn.
Spencer’s eyes went wide. “You can do that?” he said.
“Yeah, Bug, you want to try it?” James asked. He held it out and Spencer took a small handful.
Penelope pulled out her bag of Hi-Chews and set her tote on the empty seat next to her. “So since you guys have terrible taste in candy, I have backups,” she said. “I have starbursts, sour patch kids, Hershey kisses, Reese’s cups-“
Derek shook his empty Milk Duds box. “Can you toss me something?” he said. “I finished mine.”
“Already? The previews haven’t even started!”

Introducing my super cool RWBY rewrite that is definitely better than literally anything
Hey guys, this is my RWBY fanfiction universe. All ideas are mine, I just think... I dunno, RWBY kinda sucks so I'm making my own, better version. I'll call it... RWBY: Rescued or some other vaguely pretentious title, idk. Hey, John and Jane RWBYson! Thanks for subscribing to my project! Or anonymously stalking it? It's hard to tell sometimes.
Now I know I already introduced Team RWBY, and everyone loves them, I'm happy! I'm just gonna add a little dude here, no it's fine! He's like a side character, nothing more. Like an ally, Ruby's first friend, he leads the other team, it'll be really cool I promise. His name is Jaune btw, no, NO big deal. Just trust me on this. I'm the superior writer, remember?
...
Um... sorry guys. Over the weekend I just got a really big spark of inspiration, like... the Muses struck me from the heavens above. So I'm sorry, but... I'm going to make a quarter of the first Volume entirely focused on Jaune, the Volume that is crucially formative to the cast and entire series, which will cause a ripple effect so bad that a consistently large number of fans dislike him in my series 10 years later, but also find it hard to imagine the story without him at this point, like a lukewarm relationship you don't know how to feel about.
But it's fine! The show is still called RWBY and I plan to deliver on that, not like those hacks at Rooster Teeth stepping on Monty's vision. That's the rhetoric I'm supposed to use, right? To make you hate me? To make me into an easy strawman to hate and dismiss? GOT IT, just making sure, lol
I'm going to voice act as him too, btw. No big deal, I'm sure this won't affect my treatment of him whatsoever. Oh, but here's Neptune. He's voiced by the other dude writing this, and we're gonna write a love triangle between the characters we voice and Weiss, one of the main leads. That counts as a character arc for her, right? Right, glad you understand. Oh, Neptune? You actually liked him and wanted him around? What are you, fucking sexist? God. Make sure to tell your friends how cool my story is
Next, I'm going to have Pyrrha's entire screentime devoted around Jaune, and even after she dies, only Jaune is allowed to process his emotions regarding her death while Ren, an Asian dude, and Nora, another girl, prop him up. I'm also going to bring her death up every two years like 2-3 times to really milk that man pain. What does Ruby the main character feel about this? Oh don't worry, she'll talk about it with another character I'll add in. I'll even have her say Keep Moving Forward™ to really sell the audience's Ruby's pain and really stoke and stir your anguish. Her anguish. Moving on.
Eh, something feels off, there's not enough conflict... Let's have Cinder run Weiss through with a spear, for funsies ig, because I have this post-it note on my monitor saying Jaune's Semblance and this is the perfect moment. I'm also gonna give Jaune this whole ass emotional outburst, 1-on-1 fight and confrontation with Cinder since she killed Pyrrha and awakened all his angst.
Ruby? Uh... yeah, she can stand there I guess. I need to remind the goddamn audience that YES, I still remember silver eyes exist, gawd. I have to do it every few Volumes or I can sometimes forget the protagonist in my female-led story exists - man what a pain, I bet I'm gonna be pressured into creating an old lady to teach her or some shit in the Volume right after this one. Whatever, I'll have her disappear in 2 years, they'll never know she left. Anyway OOPS Emerald knocked Ruby out, thank god she's out of the way so I can squeeze in a shot of Cinder stepping on Jaune and really rub that pain in. God, Jaune really needed this, so glad I did that
Fuck it, Jaune kills Penny too. I dunno, it just feels right, y'know? Nah... I don't think Ruby or anyone is the right person for this, and I don't think we've really, one hundred percent explored just how deeply Jaune can angst over dead women; women who could have grown into full, complex people with rich arcs and relationships using all the screentime I parasitically extracted from them via sudden, unwarranted death. Penny, like, she really needs to fuckin' die for this. Her death is worth having to retread this same tired fucking emotional arc if it's for my boy, know what I'm sayin'? Good, glad you understand
Alright, it's the Volume finale. Team RWBY and Neo are falling into the next story arc. Great, people really wanted this - an entire Volume just focused on the title characters together. The fans have been on my ass asking for this since Volume fucking Four. It's alright, I GOT THIS. I FUCKING GOT THIS! It's simple! This is perfect. But... I mean, I shouldn't... but I really... SDGDSGDED FUCK IT, fuck you, Jaune falls in with them too
John and Jane RWBYson: "God, this is why I hate rewriters who think they can write a good story with RWBY. They love making white men the focus of their self insert fantasies while shoving female characters into the fridge and off to the side, all while using Monty's name to rile people into brainlessly supporting it. I hope they fucking disappear"
Wait. John. Jane. Did I say my RWBY fanfiction universe?
Oh. Oh god.

Ride the Cyclone Kids Playing Overwatch (again)
the thrilling sequel to this
After some time, Noel decides to pick Cassidy, Bastion, and Mercy as his mains! His aim is still garbage, but at least he isn’t switching characters every single time he dies.
Cassidy is a bit tricky for him because of the aim thing, but Cassidy is a pretty-looking man, so he likes him.
Bastion’s turret form is the way he gets the most kills. He’s such an annoying player that will just MELT through the other team’s defenses.
And then he healbots as Mercy lmao
What can he say? He likes the bimbo!
Oh, he also tries his hand at Lifeweaver from time to time!
But then… The Incident happened…
IT WAS AN ACCIDENT! He saw that Ricky was low on health and surrounded by the enemy team, so he Life Gripped him to get him out of harm’s way!
Right as Ricky used his ult.
Instead of Wrecking Ball’s mines deploying all around the enemy team and blowing up, they deploy where absolutely no one is fighting, effectively wasting the ult.
Ricky just kinda stared at Noel. Noel was getting leered at by a hamster.
Noel: i’m so sorry
Not seen: Mischa and Penny laughing their asses off
Ocean, coming back by from spawn: why are Ricky’s mines where no one is??
Noel: I DIDNT MEAN TO
Ricky assured him that it was fine, though! Accidents happen! He wasn’t mad!
Another advancement! Ocean picks up Brigitte as her main!
She still loves Tracer, and she still plays her all the time, but Brigitte doesn’t require aiming because she uses a flail. So she just presses down on the primary attack button and Does Not Stop.
Constance also picks up Ana! She likes playing her a lot!
Penny likes to go invisible and spam “Boop” around the enemy team. It’s so funny to watch them spin in a circle to try and find where she is.
The MINUTE someone says ANYTHING toxic, Penny and Mischa are targeting them and them alone.
The other team is lucky that Mischa plays on console because if he had access to a keyboard, he would be BRUTAL in the game chat
Only if the other team is toxic, though
You know who DOES have access to a keyboard, though?
Ricky
So the others tell Ricky to type stuff for them
Also Ocean!
Cause she plays on her laptop because never in a million years would her parents buy her a console
So she also types stuff
Or sometimes they’ll hear the aggressive clicking of a joystick as Penny writes a message out on the Xbox keyboard
After a game, Penny has exactly fifteen seconds to try and type out the world’s most vile roast with her Xbox controller
Constance, an Ana, watching a nanobladed Genji hurtle toward her with the speed and strength of a collapsing star (she missed her sleep dart, there’s nothing she can do to save herself now)
Ricky, a Wrecking Ball, watching Constance get sliced to pieces by a nanoed Genji that’s going at 363kph after missing her sleep dart (he knows he’s next)
Penny, a Sombra, sprinting across the map, shouting “I’LL HACK HIM, I’LL HACK HIM!” (she gets killed the moment she gets there)
Noel, a Mercy, thinking it’s a good idea to try and rez Constance when the nanoed Genji is 0.6 inches away from him (the sword is put straight through his throat)
Mischa, a Winston, watching in horror as all of his friends are slaughtered in cold blood (he had died 4 seconds by the enemy D.Va before all hell broke loose and could only helplessly spectate the massacre)
Ocean, a Tracer, jumping off the edge of the map to keep the enemies from getting a team kill
The amount of times both teams have seen Ocean Blink off of a map as Tracer
And more than half the time, when she tries to throw her Pulse Bomb, she ends up getting caught in the blast and dying
Ocean: why does my OWN BOMB hurt me??
Ricky: you’re not ready to hear what real bombs do
Everyone hates push, which is fair, because push fucking SUCKS
ESPECIALLY COLOSSEO
FUCK COLOSSEO
ALL MY HOMIES HATE COLOSSEO
Noel doesn’t know how to use Deadeye At All
Like, Mischa will flip through the POVs after dying, watching his friends fighting for their lives, and then this dummy is prowling around in some random hallway with a tumbleweed clipping into Cassidy’s foot, absolutely nowhere near any enemies
Noel: i don’t know what i’m doing
Mischa: i can tell
Constance gets possessed by some kind of bloodlust when she faces another Orisa in a match
She doesn’t know what comes over her, but she’s always beefing with the other horse
Ricky: where is Constance??
Constance, in some random building, fighting for dominance against another Orisa:
One time Ocean accidentally said she “unshelled” a D.Va, and the gang has been saying that since then whenever D.Va’s mech breaks
Penny is the CEO of yelling “GET THE BABY” whenever D.Va’s out of her mech
Ocean gets lost on the maps So Easily
Mischa, spectating Ocean after dying: Ocean, where the fuck are you going??
Ocean, somehow at the enemy spawn instead of the payload: I DONT KNOW WHERE I AM
Ocean is the designated “payload princess”
While everyone else is off fighting for their lives, she’s sitting on the payload while the other team is distracted
*In Blizzard World, on defense*
Noel, guarding the point, watching Ocean, who is also guarding the point, hide behind a wooden post that is definitely not big enough to conceal Tracer’s body: you look awful
Ocean, crouching on these hay bales that are on the point: how do i look now?
Noel: fucking stupid 😭
Also as the exact opposite of Constance: Ocean HATES fighting other Tracer’s
And they’re SO HARD TO HIT
And they’re usually way better than she is 😅
Ramattra used his ult one time, and Ricky and Penny IMMEDIATELY reversed right back into spawn
When the opposite team ults, the general reaction is either A) “SCATTER” or B) “HIDE”
Whenever they hear “FIRE IN THE HOLE,” Mischa is instantly like “SPREAD OUT SPREAD OUT”
“It’s high noon” they are hiding behind the closest object and staying there
When D.Ava ults, Ocean uses ALL of her Blinks as Tracer trying to flee the general area
Most of the time, she hits a wall and just accept her fate 😭
They once got matched against someone they already played with three times, and that bitch LEFT
That one time Ocean, as Tracer, snuck around the Entire Team in Eichenwalde and captured the point with no interference because they were all distracted with everyone else
One of her best moments
They got our asses handed to them after that, but that’s not the point
Constance: they got a Widowmaker!
Noel, immediately getting sniped: i know
“Revoke gay rights” -Mischa, being killed by a Tracer
“God, please put your balls on me” -Penny, trying to get healing from Constance, who was playing Zenyatta
“We’re gonna have to gaze into her hole so many times” -Ocean, having misheard what Moira says during her ult

The Keeper of Tomes(Original Work WIP)
Work In Progress Summary: In another world and time in the 24th century, science and logic have long outpaced religion or anything Fantastical. But when a tome is uncovered, an accident occurs, causing secrets long forgotten and hidden in other realms to start unraveling, uncovering Earth's magical past and possibly its Future,
Notes: So these guys started out tied to a fandom as Original Characters, however I saw an opportunity for them to become their own thing, I just needed to rework it a bit, and begin to develop an original idea which isn't easy, this is very early development, the name Cleo is a place holder as I am still doing a lot of research.
The inspiration based on one line: what if one took the magic of Owl House collided it with my life as a Teenage robot but with the sprinkle of insanity of Loud House's huge numbers of kids.
Legitimately, I do not know how chaotic this is going to get in the best way, but I hope people join on this ride,
Here's a sneak peak,
----------------------------------------------
Her eyes opened sluggishly, trying to take in her surroundings before she heard the loud,
"Cleo!," said girl gave a groan trying to toss a pillow over her head, not noticing her younger sister poking her head down from the top bunk, dark black curls bouncing "Come on Cleo, first day of Junior year! And my first one of Highschool!"
"Yayyyy" She sighed, before giving an oof as Drusilla swung down, landing on her before scrambling off, making a beeline for the bathroom
The girl following the others lead finally swung her legs down, yawning again as she tried to get herself up,
"Oh right, you'd figure after 17 years I would learn." She reached behind, unplugging the cord from her port instantly, perking up,"That's better!"
She lept up again, following her excited sibling, she about got bowled over as she went out the door of their room tying her hair back into a high ponytail, she blinked registering that it had been Chloe and strangely Violet who'd darted past,
"Be careful Chloe did something and Violet is hopping mad" came the delayed airy warning of Penny making Cleo snort
"I think you were a bit late on that Pen"
The other just smiled, before wandering off, probably to do some cleaning,
"Hey! Watch it you two!" Came the indignant Yelp of Rebecca
Cleo just ignored it, heading to the bathroom, the yelling and the continued thudding of angered footsteps chasing someone around were silenced as she closed the door,
Drusilla had to be in the other bathroom, Cleo could only imagine how the youngest would primp herself up for the day, she herself went for a high ponytail and no makeup, one learns its a chore after 2 years and she did not feel up to it today,
This time poking her head out, checking that the coast was clear before she made a beeline back to her and Drus room to get dressed,
Mir smirked as he heard thudding from above him as he sipped from his coffee,
"Kids are awake," Koa kissed him on the cheek putting a plate of toast in front of him,
The man looked up with a playful twinkle to his green eyes,
"And whatever my dear, would give you that idea?"
The two laughed as another thud echoed followed by a very angry scream of "Chloe!!!" from their eldest,
"I will go make sure they are at least getting around" he sat his coffee down, his husband leaning down to snatch a quick kiss before stepping back to allow the other to turn and make his way out,
"Jesus, what in the world did she do?" Rebecca sat on the railing of the stairwell, Cleo standing beside watching their two oldest siblings fight,
"She hacked Violets phone and now two boys are very interested," came the voice of Simone, she stood there wrapped in a plush robe a cup of coffee in her hand looking quite smug,
Most of the elders were out of school, trying to figure themselves out, but having a difficult time with life, not to mention the families' strange nature
Androids in the year 2426 were still as lifeless as their 21st-century counterparts. It was baffling to all in the scientific community how the Quinton 16 were all so sentient and aware,

any child with an interest in anything even remotely science-related had colress’s attention, but penny was more than just a geeky little teenager with an affinity for hacking.
at least, she was probably more than that. colress unfortunately didn’t know her very well as of yet. all he knew was what was stated previously, and that… he found himself a bit JEALOUS of her—JEALOUS of her STRENGTH that she had used to overcome the hardships she had faced in school.
colress had no such strength during his school years. it probably didn’t do him any good that he was a teenager attending a college full of highly intelligent and rather belligerent adults, but… it wasn’t a decision that was in his hands in the first place.
perhaps instead of venting to a child about his school troubles, he’d ought to get his point across in a blunt and concise manner—and so, in the letter he wrote to her, colress was sure to make it clear that he was PROUD of penny.
he wrote out all of these feelings in an uncharacteristically heartfelt letter to the young lady, before signing off with some of his best wishes, and encouraging her to reach out to him via the email and phone number he had given her at the end of the letter. maybe, just maybe… she would allow him to act as a mentor figure of sorts to her. maybe, if his gift was a kind enough offering, she would be willing to give this ex-convict the light of day.
alongside the letter that was neatly tucked inside a cutely wrapped box with a sylveon bow & ribbon to match, there was a set of very intricate and carefully crafted miniature figurines of the eevee family. not one eeveelution was missing, and eevee was not missing, either. that eevee bag that penny ran around with—colress found it quite cute, indeed! he could only assume that, after having seen her walking around with a sylveon at her side, penny had quite the affinity for the eeveelutions.

over the past few years, there are many things that have happened in penny's life that, if you told her were going to happen before they did, she'd call you crazy. at this point, well ... she's learned to expect practically anything. yet when there's a notification on her phone alerting her to a package that's been delivered for her ⸻ weird, she doesn't remember ordering anything recently ⸻ she has no idea what waits for her. penny cuts her idle coding practice short to go down &&. collect it before she forgets, adjusting her glasses a bit so she can squint at the box. it's not too big, but definitely moreso than she was expecting ... okay, sure. it's addressed to her, so she figures it must be a gift from her dad's company or something. penny shoves it into her bag &&. takes it back to her dorm so she can open it up. it's placed on her desk, keyboard moved to the side for adequate room as her playlist shuffles quietly in the background ⸻ the first thing she sees is the letter, carefully opening it up as to not rip the paper ; oh, that's ... definitely not from her father's company. it's long &&. strangely heartfelt, from ... colress ? gray eyes narrow in thought momentarily before she remembers that she's met him before ⸻ that's the super smart scientist that caught her trying to get into his files. he had been impressed with her abilities &&. kind enough to let her go without repercussions ; penny had supposed that would've been the end of their interactions, but ... no. he's proud of her, he says, for her talent, the strength she's displayed ... oh, god. penny doesn't even realize there's a few droplets escaping her eyes until one lands on the paper, prompting her to swiftly move her arm upwards to wipe them. jeez, one person says they're proud of you &&. now you're crying over it ? ... but she hasn't heard it in a long time, &&. it's strangely comforting at how much colress seems to mean it. she takes this opportunity to put it down &&. get to the present itself, which leaves her mouth agape with shock once she actually takes a proper look at it ⸻ an entire set ?! penny's seen this set a few times before, but she had been holding off on buying it until her first collection from a different brand had been completed. they were even more beautiful in person ... penny doesn't dare touch the figures themselves yet of course, as though she were afraid of breaking them in the midst of her hands shaking from multiple emotions at once. instead, she picks up the letter again to put the phone number into her contacts ( &&. email address into her notes for later, ) pressing a button so she could leave him a voicemail.
❝ hi, this is penny rose ... i got your delivery. it's ... jeez, it's great, really. i kinda feel like a jerk now that i don't have anything in return, but uh ... maybe this will count ? i dunno. anyway, i'll probably send you an email too in case your phone eats this voicemail or something, but whenever you get the chance to call me back, i'd be happy to talk. ❞ a pause as penny takes a moment to collect her thoughts. ❝ what i've got in strength you've got in smarts, right ? maybe if we combined those, we'd be unstoppable, heh. well ... happy holidays. talk to you soon, i hope. ❞ ( if colress were to go into his computerized notes at any point after her voicemail, he would find a small smiley face next to a star emoji placed at the end of one of its pages. )

“alphakuriboh: To be fair, her design isn’t great and she’s a chairman character after two straight generations of the chairman being the main villain. So. That’s a thing. Plus her ace is mostly prevalent in the late game limited access area, which is a bit of a Hmm. I don’t personally trust her myself lol.”
Isn’t it technically three?  I guess Lysandre wasn’t really a chairman specifically, but major company owner.  It fits.  I do love that they set up the idea that Geeta found her Glimmora down in Area Zero, though.  I want a bit more of that, but I’m not quite sold on it being an antagonist thing, so much as...Geeta’s been down here.  The only even implied connecting point is that the professor mentions securing funding from someone and doesn’t really specify who.
“megazardx2: I think it stems from her 1) having Glimmora as her ace, and 2) not having much of a character, and the one key trait she does have (which is that she’s kind of a slave driver) makes many of her colleagues hate her. Plus, her design feels very…ethereal, in a way?  I’m not 100% on board the “Geeta is gonna be the antagonist for the DLC” train myself, but I wouldn’t be surprised.”
And to be entirely fair, I wouldn’t mind.  It’d be more interesting than how she is, by a mile.  But when I mean she’s vilified, I don’t mean as in, people think she’s secretly an antagonist.  I mean people kinda ascribe negative traits to her that don’t...track with anything?
Like, the slave driver one is a good example.  Head of a company, always going to be a component of that, but the only two that ever indicate there’s anything significant to that are Larry and Penny.  In the case of Larry, we have things like his general put-upon nature and known tendency to work tons of overtime and crunch, but also the order to use a different type while acting as an Elite Four member.  But after his rematch, he does express that there was some validity to the idea of switching up your usual every now and again, and that his boss told him to stop taking so much overtime, and that he’s taking the rest of the day as a result.  That...isn’t strictly the mentality of a task-master, and is honestly a pretty positive quality that implies Geeta’s looking out for her people, and doesn’t want them overworking themselves, or becoming too stuck in routine and depressed.
As for Penny...the only reason Penny’s working for Geeta at all is because Geeta didn’t pursue legal action for hacking their system and stealing funds.  Geeta offers a job instead, looking to cultivate what Penny’s good at for something that isn’t criminal activity.  The only time Geeta’s ever extreme is honestly my favorite scene of hers, where she just kinda brightly pushes “Thanks in advance” on Penny’s attempted refusal.  Which isn’t really a bad thing, in my book.  Like, Penny, sweetie, you do in fact owe her.  When she tells you that it’s time to start on that job she hired you for, the answer is, decisively, “Yes ma’am,” not attempting to complain that you wanted to just watch anime all day.  That’s not even Geeta being a task-master, that’s just having a job.
The only other character I remember expressive dislike of her was Ryme, which was really more about feeling disrespected that Geeta sent you instead of coming herself as initially promised.
And I dunno, I think people latched onto the idea of Larry being depressed as Geeta’s fault because she’s the direct superior?  Despite having proof from Larry himself that she at least tries to make him take time off?  And it feels like it’s extended outward, because I saw a take that Geeta’s just using Nemona for her talents and would toss her away at the first chance, as if Geeta hasn’t been hopeful that you’ll keep up with Nemona solely for Nemona’s sake and is like...actively happy for the kid and helps cultivate a really meaningful memory with the whole “pick a good battle stage” thing?  Geeta...really doesn’t ping as a bad person.  And I feel like some of the takes starting to go around about her just don’t mesh with how she’s been shown to be in really odd ways.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet hurt me in ways I didn’t expect so now I have too many ideas for an au
Spoilers ahead:
Honestly had only one bug in the entire game (an unclaimable pokeball item in the lake of false dragon titan), so my gameplay was great and I loved the story, looks like Pokémon is now leaning hard on the friendship zones more than having to catch them all or become champion or what not
I really like Area Zero’s soundtrack, gives me those mystical vibes like something powerful lurks here beyond one’s comprehension. Also love that we have our friends with us, more to share the trauma!
Poor Arven with his parent, but like I think the AI managed to traumatise everyone individually, because there’s nothing worse than realising you can’t do anything even with our preparations (nemona can’t battle, which is pretty damn bad when your opponent is known to have killed and possibly will kill again, and penny can’t hack us out of the situation)
Our poor protag too, can you imagine going like “ah we’re gonna help this famous professor, wanna come” and then thirty minutes later going “I have just killed all of us, we’re gonna be like the professor, no one will know we died and our bodies are gonna rot here forever or be pokemon food” like holy shit the AI battles were nightmare fuel like professor chucking master balls with barely contained Pokémon within from a height and then our poke balls being locked too
The whole game gives me Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz vibes for some reason, like we’re Dorothy, and all of our friends are a mix of the scarecrow, tin man, and lion (penny is def lion, but I can’t quite agree on nemona and arven being which one), and the whole time we go through a journey to find a treasure and head to Area Zero (the land of Oz), only to find that the wizard isn’t real
But anyways bad AU idea time, hear me out
Look we know that there were a bunch ofscientists before Sada/Turn took over the whole thing alone (and with themself as an AI) studying terastalizing including clavell and others
And we also know that the crystal is what powers the AI and why they cannot leave etc.
So all I’m saying is that the likelihood that the other initial researchers weren’t almost as brilliant as Sada/Turo is low
Which brings me to the concept of our protagonist being sort of an AI
I already said this was a shit idea don’t hate me
Okay but like let’s just say that our protagonist (who is 12-16, look nemona and arven are def older and in that range, plus no ten year old masterminds an operation to stop bullying), so it’s still possible that we can have the protag’s dad working with the professor
And now our protag has a serious illness (say cancer in the brain touch wood) that is in its late stages, so by the time the dad is no longer working with the professor he’s trying to look for another solution to save his child
to the point of obsession
biomedicine has failed him, and so he turns to a little souvenir that he brought along with him from the paldea
and actually creates a solution
it’s not a hundred percent perfect (unlike a certain AI-powered robot), but he manages to craft a mechanical brain powered with the crystals that can analyse situations and respond accordingly
And one night he takes the kid and does the transplant (he’s working at a pharmaceutical facility or hospital, either one)
Our protag lives! Sort of
See the thing is these sorts of projects cost money, money he doesn’t have
So he embezzles funds from his company to fund this project, and on this night the police are staking him out
And when they come out to catch him, it looks worse for him than it ever is
His child is in a coma, there’s blood everywhere, and the dude is covered in blood
He gets sent to jail, the real truth of what they saw is covered up (ie only the embezzlement is covered), and the mom looks after the protag who is in a coma
So at the start of the game this is why there’s no mention of the dad at all, partially because of the crime, partially because the protag’s mom knows that whatever he did might have potentially saved the protag’s life, so it’s a very touchy subject
But before that, when our protag wakes up, they don’t know that they’re an AI, instead it’s just feeling empty and numb. This is coupled with a great overprotectiveness from their mom. But word spread about the very ill child suddenly making a recovery after the dad’s arrest, and eventually the mom takes the flight back to Paldea just to shield the protag from the rumors
Which is when the game starts, when the mom finally is willing to let the protag explore their surroundings a bit
But as the story progresses, the protag learns about being human, learning to feel again, and friendship :D
Also this is a bit random but due to the AI, the protag doesn’t have the ability to terastalize. This is partially because I hardly did during my gameplay, and also because I feel like terastalizing is a bit similar to mega evolution, so for an individual to terastalize a pokémon they need to be in sync with their pokémon, same with wild pokémon terastalizations, either they cannot control it or they’ve just become very in sync with themselves. Instead, the protagonist gets a really bad headache when they try (the crystals syncing with their skull is not fun)
As for what happens to Area Zero, I have plans

Simp energy aside, Arven my precious. Penny giggling and Nemona with that fierce yet energetic expression. Miraidon being the pet. (Yes that is my MC, Vee)
I feel like this really shows the dynamic everyone has together, and that cutscene after you leave Zero? Perfection. Nemona I thank you for that wonderful idea to cheer up Arven, and Penny for telling him his dad/mom would have a great adventure in the future/past.
This really shows that Arven did end up trying to leave those feelings behind of utter hatred for his dead parent behind. The dialogue shows that he did know they died but didn’t want to accept it. Plus before we even helped, Mabostiff was on the brink of dying. The only one who’s been there for him.

Penny: I’m starting to think Arven’s a dog…
Nemona and Y/N: What makes you think that?
Penny (points at Y/N): He stares at you like a lovesick puppy, almost how Mabosstiff looks at Arven when he wants food.
(Y/N sputters Spanish rapidly under their breath)
Arven: (Literally in the other room hearing them, his face could rival a Cheri berry’s color of red)

Is it possible to make a yandare arven but kinda fluffy? Sometimes I wish the main character/reader can accept the yandare-ness (especially arven cause he been through a lot) idk so fluffy yandare arven please? 🥺
Yandere Arven, but fluff fic? Challenge accepted my friend!
Reader x Arven, of course . Slight possessive behavior, but much fluff and cuddles too!
You scrolled through your Rotom phone, absolutely tired from today. As nice as it was to have Battle Studies, the amount of training one had to go through to satisfy Dendra was energy draining. The only thing that made it really worth it was the amount of Experience Points that could level up any team easily.
Luckily, this period was language. Mr. Salvatore had mercy on class (no pun intended) and let a little of free time before class. So you decided it would be best to see what kinds of battle items would help your team in the Ace tournament.
“Leftovers would be good… but perhaps the Lucky Egg could level my team up faster?”
You questioned your decisions, torn between power or levels.
“Or maybe-”
Suddenly, there is a rush of footsteps, before your vision is covered. You drop your Rotom phone in surprise, the device landing with a loud CLACK! on your desk.
“Who is it?”
An energetic tone emitted from the question. You chuckle to yourself, before putting your own hands over the large warm ones.
“Hmm… I don’t know? Who’s very good at cooking, the soon-to-be famous chef?” You smile.
“I wonder?” The voice had a hint of amusement too.
“Arven, eres bien canijo!”
A giggle escaped your upperclassman’s mouth, as he uncovered his hands from your eyes. Arven bent down to hug you from your sitting position, burying his face into your neck.
“We’re best buds, of course you know who I am!”
“Why wouldn’t I? Arven, your voice is so soft just like that caring soul. Plus, those hands are rough from all that adventuring,” you tease lightly.
There was definitely a smile going on, because you could feel his lips curving upwards.
“I shouldn’t expect any less, that’s coming from a Champion,” Arven said. He looked up from his position, now resting his chin on your shoulder. “Que estás viendo?”
“Battle items. The Ace tournament is a lot harder, Nemona’s been training hard.”
Arven hummed, one of his hands traveling up to your hair. He ruffled it slightly, fingers gently caressing the strands.
“She’s not empujando te to do something, is she?” He asked.
Your stomach felt like jittery jello hearing those few words. Nemona had asked you to train with her but…
“No, of course not! She may be eager and happy someone is her rival, but it doesn’t mean she goes to those lengths! It’s nothing to worry about,” you manage to muster.
Arven pondered about the answer for a minute or two, before taking himself off you.
“Well, class is starting. Gotta go to my seat, see you later bud!”
He waves at you with a happy aura painting him. You smile to yourself: Arven reminded you of a joyful puppy.
A puppy that hadn’t seen light in a decade or so, ever since Turo died. Ever since Mabosstiff got injured.
You didn’t mind the way he held you especially close. After all, he had suffered through so much, the least you could do was stay by his side… right?
Well, that joy only lasted for so long. You froze as you heard the seat right beside you creak, someone sitting in it. They placed their items near yours, giving you a slightly warm smile.

My #1 post of 2022
Here’s for you Arven simps. Don’t think I don’t see you, I am one myself. Come out of the shadows my friend.
Arven didn’t want to think about the embarrassing situation Mr. Saguaro had gotten him into. He could hear the whispered remarks about him, saying “Oh, I thought he’d be a bit more on the studious side” or “Thought he had his father in him.”
Frankly it was nothing thankfully, as the students had quickly gotten silenced by one statement of his friend. Y/N.
“Escuchen, porque sólo digo esto una vez. Leave him alone, he can be his own person, not just a professor’s son!”
They ran for it, and judging by the bell, were scrambling to make it to lunch. Safely, where the teachers were.
“Cobardes.” Y/N muttered under their breath. “Arven, you alright?”
Their upperclassman looked at them with a silent gaze, only to shake his head. “I’m fine… they’re not even worth it.”
Y/N stared at Arven for a few moments, before breaking into a pure smile. “Glad to see you’re taking steps!”
“Cállate,” Arven gently nudged them in the ribs with his elbow, to which Y/N playfully did the same back. He couldn’t stay sad for long: this bundle of energy would find a way to cheer him up either way.
“I hope Nemona is there early for our table, I am star-ving!” Y/N laid heavy emphasis on their last words.
Arven slightly frowned. He wasn’t used to the battle-loving girl yet, who would used to defeat him and Mabostiff nonstop…
“Yeah. Hope she is,” he said flatly.
He didn’t say anything else as they arrived to the lunchroom, before Y/N practically ran over to Nemona, who jumped out of her seat to hug them. Arven awkwardly sat on the opposite side of both of them, as Nemona squeezed the air out of Y/N. Literally.
“Ahhh Y/N I missed you! We haven’t seen each other as much as we should beeee!”
“Me too- Could you let go a little?”
“Only a little!” Nemona pouted as she had her face right against Y/N’s. “We shall never separate as much again!” She announced.
Arven rolled his eyes, resting his hands against his face, elbows on the table.
“You make it sound like you’re dating almost,” he chuckled.
“Arceus no! Y/N is just a friend I really need,” Nemona responded as she hugged them tightly. “How’d it go in classes?”
Arven’s face heated a little, before promptly looking away. He could only stare at the lights again for so long. “Alright, I guess.”
“Oh! Mr. Saguaro mentioned about a ‘boy’ who’s really into culinary arts and then asked me for a correct answer on how to make meals tastier. But after I got the correct answer, he slipped Arven’s name in.” Y/N piped up.
Nemona and Arven looked at Y/N.
“…”
Nemona bit her lower lip, lowering her face. Her entire body was shaking, before a small giggle came out of her mouth.
“You can’t be serious-“
“Y/N! Bud, I told you not to mention anything-!” Arven half yelled, standing up as he said.
Oh.
Oh boy was that a mistake. Arven could only hear the silence filling the room at this statement, dozens of students looking at him.
He quickly sat back down.
Only to hear Nemona burst into a fit of laughter, and hear participation from others too.

Long review of my time with Pokemon Violet
Scarlet/Violet spoilers down below
I love the game. These sets of games are on the same wavelength as Pokemon BW/BW2 in terms of the characters and their motives.
I want to say hats off to Dir. Clavell. Director Clavell is a great ‘how you do fellow kids?’ old character in the game, actually, because he is one who just wants to see their pupils flourish and be great at studying in the academy. And when he heard about the whole Team Star and what went awry with them, instead of blatantly expelling them for their mishaps, he took what he heard about Team Star, what’s up with Penny and her friends, and, in in the best and most constructive way, gave them the opportunity to actually make the Academy a much more awesome place by turning their bases into training grounds for any student who wants to be the very best like no one ever was. He wants to keep up with the younger generation by having a chat about what their passions are. The whole Treasure Hunt thing was amazing. You’re doing great, Director. 10/10 such a chill old man (plus that disguise he had was so kickass lemme tell ya). We need to see more IRL people be like Director Clavell someday.
For the Pokemon League side of the games. The Gyms leaders are, as usual, mostly not interesting, BUT!!! Larry is interesting. He’s such a normal guy, but not in the usual kind of normal guy way. He has a PhD in Accounting. He has a thing for Normal-types. He has a thing for birds (me too Larry, me too). He knows how many Normal/Flying types Pokemon are out hence the reason Larry’s a Normal-Type Gym Leader AND a Flying-Type ELITE FOUR MEMBER. He’s got an office job that must’ve got some really good salary. He pays his taxes like the good civilian he is. He yeets his pokeball in a baseball-like manner; has he played baseball before? He truly is The Exceptional Everyman, and I understand why some parts of Tumblr is appointing him as a Tumblr Sexyman candidate. Also I think Ryme being a Ghost-Type Gym Leader, Grandma Rapper, and a Teacher at The Academy is really great too.
What about Nemona? Pretty much like Hugh, she wants to see us grow strong and powerful with her bc she knew how much potential we’ve got. But at the same time she needs to learn where to set her boundaries. She’s a little too fun. There’s Penny. She’s an introvert computer hacker who has a thing for Eeveelutions. She has an assortment of anime that she wants to binge-watch. She got promoted to fixing the LP security system bc she hacked into them in the first place. Wow what a great person actually. :)
All I can about Arven is that he should be besties with N :)
But what the hell was going on about Arven’s Mom/Dad?
Oh my god. The idea of an AI being really aware that they’re insanely programmed by the original Sada/Turo to protect the Time Machine from going haywire, the fact that the AI Sada/Turo has little control over whatever insane program it’s been prompted with, it’s all so.... auuuughghuhghghghhh... gives me ‘Do Computers Dream of Electric Sheep?’ vibes honestly. That AI has passed the Turing Test in so many ways... but why?
The AI Sada/Turo knew how much damage that the Time Machine may cause to Paldea’s ecosystem, and that they needed someone powerful enough to shut the machine down, but at the same time the AI knew that they're aware that they are programmed to protect instead, and that if they ceased to operate, the Time Machine would cause damage to the ecosystem beyond Area Zero. So pretty like how N farewelled us before leaving for distant travels and leaving us emotionally broken, the AI has chosen to go to the Time of The Dinosaurs/The Time of Future via the Time Machine, leaving us sad and Arven too. Arven was devastated when he realized all of this, and I feel so bad for him, but not just him. I feel bad for the AI that has been programmed to protect the thing that causing a paradox, knowing that they’ve got no control over it. I feel bad for the Professors because they had to sacrifice their quality family time to build an AI clone of themselves as some form of way to keep Arven company and to give a program that the AI has accepted, everything about the program basically, even knowing the risks that the program carries. The real Sada/Turo recklessly sacrificed themselves to the territorial Paradox Legendaries secretly in order to protect what they’ve love the most from the worst kind of dangers, that being their own Kuraidon/Miraidon, their Arven, and his goodest boi Mashiff. The AI knew the truth, and had to accept  everything about it.
Oh....

Arriving at Alterna, Lutarna and co got the drill digging as signals from down below were being picked up.
“So this is Alterna,” Lulu spoke, awe by the place, “the idea that humans lived here once.”
“It is interesting. More of it is underground though given time I bet some of it has collapsed,” Lutarna spoked.
“COMMANDER! WE’RE IN!!!” a sanitized shouted.
Following the guards, Lutarna and Lulu hopped into the ink rails as they led down further into Alterna.
Arriving into Grizz’s labs, broken weapons’ parts were scattered around,  there were old salmonid parts and eggs lying about as it gave the place a old rotten musty smell; both girls scrunched their noses up. As guards set up hacking equipment, others set up generators to power this portion of Alterna. Once ready, the scientist went to work getting into the system.
Passing the time by playing table turf, Lulu and Lutarna were on even wins when the guards came up.
“We’re in the system Commander,” the sanitized guard spoke.
“About time,” Lulu remarked as she got up with Lutarna.
Moving over to the desk set up with a laptop, Lutarna got on as she went hunting for things.
“So what exactly are we looking for?” Lulu asked.
“The layout and formula for the hairy ooze,” Lutarna replied, “We need to find it so we can understand how it’s made to refine it.”
“Why does it need to be refined?” Lulu then asked, “And what are you planning to do with it?”
“It needs to be refined because as it, it will kill a sanitized by over simulating their lungs and mind when being “revived,”“ Lutarna explained as she continued to look.
“Revived?? The shell are you planning with this stuff?” Lulu questioned puzzled and concerned.
“When the time comes I’ll show you,” Lutarna replied with a smirk.
Making noise on screen, the girls looked at the laptop as Lutarna finally found what she was looking for.
“Is that the formula and process?” Lulu questioned with a raised eyebrow, “I’ve seen the sanitize process and it’s not...that complicated?”
“This is a mess. It’s a surprise it even works. I understand what is going on but there is way too many extra steps,” Lutarna huff in annoyance at seeing Grizz’s work, “Also his short hand is awful as well as his hand writting.”
Once all data was collected, everybody met back up at the top as the last of the lights down below were shut off.
“Tomorrow, get Neiko and a team together and start exploring the old cities here. I want to see if any remains survived as well as any documents and other things. I’m sure Ao would pay a pretty penny for them,” Lutarna chuckled.
“So, why do you want to keep O.R.C.A off line anyway?” Lulu asked as she pulled Lutarna to the side.
“...because I think it’s running off an older version of my engine,” Lutarna replied.
Lulu had to blink.
“So you think it’s you????” Lulu questioned concern.
“Not exactly. More so built off the same system built for my creation and there is only one person I can think of that would have done it,” Lutarna huffed.
Lulu looked confused.
“Professor Obo Hamifuji was the other professor who worked on me. As Daisy built me and trained me, Professor Hamifuji tested me. To be honest, I never liked him. Too...in his ways and ideals. I think he had a thing for Daisy but I could never be sure. O.R.C.A’s thoughts and speech patterns follow too much of my older ones. I wouldn’t be surprised if the professor made a copy of my systems before they were to shut me down,” Lutarna explained.
“That’s crazy. So you think he survived?” Lulu questioned.
“Long enough to help build this place, yes. Whether he got on the Polaris, I don’t know. And honestly, I could care less,” Lutarna replied, “If I had purpose for that AI, I would download it and move it to the Metro, but it’s space wasting by doing that.”
Pouting as Lutarna began to walk back to the aircraft, Lulu sighed as she followed

Still farming relaxing surroundings while 9S games. Aiming for 2B’s hang-at-a-lot-for-8-hours-whim. 9S wants to be romantic with 2B but she’s practicing yoga at the moment so I’ll set him to do things elsewhere...until I remember that it’s not just a yoga session but the whole actual practice yoga bit so I then had her and 9S spar. 2B then said some romantic words to 9S so you know what time it is?

Proposal time. If you think these two would have a wedding event, think again. They elope immediately. 2B is just not one for ceremony. (Would head to the courts if I had Wedding Stories but I don’t) 2B’s next whim is to mourn and so I go to where I think there is a grave. Oakenstead, what was the initial home for my file but is now a wedding venue...and where a grave of one of my lost sims is at. Grave is there but alas, no mourn option. Instead I switch tracks to fish. 2B does actually like to fish so let’s do that for a bit. And with it, she became emotionally mindful. Managed to get the centered emotion this time.
But enough about 2B? What about 9S? Whim is to...be disliked by Penny Pizzaz. Welp. Let’s head on over to her apartment and pester her. Which we do so. Oh hey, her boyfriend Don Lothario introduced himself to 9S. Nice. Chat’s were kinda eh and not going anywhere so let’s head home to play some chess with 2B. Next whim is going on a date so let’s head out to a park around Mt. Komorebi? Why there? Because after we fulfil the date requirements, we can go fishing in the stream nearby! 2B does like that fishing. And they gained the Comfortably Compatible lifestyles. Nice. 2B headed home but 9S had a whim to get a collectable so let’s go pick up a Simmi from a vending machine. Then he wants to solve hard problems and then...debate with geeks some more. We’ll go visit Liberty Lee and in doing so check-

Raiden Bello in the Bello household is now a Scuba Instructor in the Diver career.
Aoi Saito in the Saito household has died. Aoi thought she could conquer a mountain, but the mountain conquered her.
RIP the repair lady!
Right, let’s continue on. We’ll have that debate with Liberty and then game a bit with her. After said game, we’re returning immedately home. 9S just wants to stay by 2B thanks to his jealous nature. And so he goes and gets all cuddly with 2B. Romance socials is fine but I’m a little bored with the two just doing that, so I had 2B instruct 9S to try some yoga. Within her close proximity of course. Whim’s finally done so 9S is going to play some chess and 2B will once again farm relaxing interactions.
Miko Ojo decided to drop in! A chess opponent for 9S! Might as well also introduce her to 2B, seeing as Miko is a moderately famous politician around San Myshuho. And karaoke singer, that as well. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand he’s immediately jealous of 2B when she even spoke with Miko. Jesus game. There’s jealous and then there’s overbearing. But hey! 2B finished the Inner Peace aspiration! Now she can do...this!

A huge positive buff to keep negative moods away! -tiny horn toot- Next thing’s next...hmm. I guess we’ll go fishing. Might want to move homes for this. Even if you can fish from the ocean side in San Myshuno, might still be a more fun idea to just go out and find somewhere else to fish. Somewhere more natural.
9S is going to go hack again and- well, I was going to go spar with the fitness machine but I forgot what time it is. It’s past 10PM. It’s disturbing your neighbors by working out at night time. And her whim is to spar at the gym but I want 9S to finish off his hacks before I leave total control to 2B. So some yoga and meditate to help finish off the wellness skill she hasn’t capped yet.
