Dear Fellow Traveler Under the Moon [Chrom & Anankos]
Hic Sunt Dracones - or, in layman’s terms: Here Be Dragons. But where the warning inscribed on the monument at the center of town typically indicates dangerous or unexplored territories, it would appear in this case to prove literal. The creature swoops into town, spewing foul breath and roaring defiance. The Knight steps forth ere weapons can be brought to bear, pleading for the townspeople not to hurt it. But will you listen, or stand your ground? Either way, whether you defeat it, drive it out, or something else entirely, you find yourself at the beginning of the story all over again… [Grants Any Weapon +1]

His footsteps echoed quietly against the town stones as he strode around the village. A sweet and quiet village, just like how Valla had used to be. Oh... he missed those days. When everything had been perfect and... his voice still seemed to whisper in his ears, reminding him of how wonderful everything back then had been. So distracted by imaginary sweet nothings, he didn’t even realize that he had stumbled into the main square of the town until he saw the dragon perched atop of the tower. A stifiled scream nearly escaped his lips as he stared at it, unsure of what he was supposed to be doing.
Ana... don’t just stand there. Do something! His feet moved before his mind could respond to him. He wanted to scream, but that would surely be improper. Before he could get any closer to the beast however, he found himself collided against the shoulder of a young man. Blue hair... not the same shade of blue, but...
“Ah... I’m sorry. I just-” His words were cut off by the loud roaring of the dragon, and his mind flashed to something that he didn’t even remember. Who... was he?
“What is that damn thing doing?! It’s going to hurt the villagers!”

-- PWT: After The Storm
The rain outside was a grim reminder of what had transpired only a few hours prior. It stung. It really did now that she thought about it. She knew why they had done all this but... No. No time to dwell on it now. The distinct beeping of medical equipment drowsed her out of her bed, now fully awake, the smell of salve on the air. An all too familiar feeling. It was just after dealing with four deadly demons and Ashe... well, she was drained. Drained and tired and she knew they had to get back to Saffron City for Leon’s match against a person named Zain.
Gaze sweeping over the room; Leon knocked out and still asleep from undergoing a healing process that her Delphox had put him under, and four pokemon who were in need of rest and time to recover; Lucky, ever loyal Empatheon, Mononoke, staring her enemies in the eye and not giving two fucks, Mirage, angry and bitter over losing so easily, and the dire of all, Miyagi, who had still not awoken from his current state nearby. Ashe found her way to her feet, bandaged and limping to her pokemon first.
She could dwell on the memories of what had brought her here, but she had spent too much time doing so already.
( In a nutshell, a certain Delphox had heard on the multiverse grapevine that the Pokemon World Tournament -- not as grand in their world -- as picking up people from the multiverse for one big tournament in another. Why not give it a shot? Leon and Ashe had expressed interest -- Leon moreso -- and while Kianga could have... he decided against it... for now... and so Leon and Ashe had undergone... something. Something that had allowed them to be in their world presently but travel to another through consciousness undetected mostly in this one, but the cost was a slight physical and mental strain being overseen by a certain legendary pokemon in their own universe. )
Sitting herself down beside a growling Absol who refused to rest, Ashe sighed. “You can’t put it back on yet, Mirage.” She chided lightly, the Absol eyeing her prosthetic which had cracked in the fight like a hawk. [I just want to make sure it’s in one piece! That damned demon--] “Leave it.” Like Ashe would chide a dog, the Absol gave pause but finally laid still. “Thank you.” She petted her friend and sighed. She was tired. Too tired to count. The mental and physical strain was catching up -- stress and all... she didn’t have much time left here likely before their friend would pull her out forcefully.
Her gaze drifted to the ‘mons briefly before she looked to where Leon rested. “... He should be waking up soon, right?” She muttered to herself. Getting to her feet and heading over to him, she took a seat beside him and her hand found his. He was alive, breathing... that was what counted. She recalled their journey here if only briefly; him, excited at facing opponents again in the Paldean Elite Four members Rika and Larry, bonding with Rika as a friend... and for Ashe, she had discovered a deeper bond with her pokemon over fighting the people Giovanni, Nivalis, and Alistair. She had been in shock to win the last one -- didn’t think she’d make it this far. Her pokemon had been her priority in training, learning, and spending time with them, but also taking the time to enjoy the odd events of Saffron City as well as meet a few odd people here and there.
Leon had been more of the social butterfly... up until the sky started burning and boredom had struck -- but even then a few people had stopped by. Ashe recalled only being sick. Heh. How ironic now everyone apparently might have radiation poisoning and faced genetic... something. She hadn’t been paying attention when she and Leon were carried away. Only that she had been woken up here after Kianga had ‘insisted’ he be the one to tend to them. Come to think of it, the last she had seen Kianga was just after her match with Alistair when people had panicked and Kianga had found her after she had shot off alone to face him. Her brother had told her Leon had gone to face demons in Viridian Forest. This wasn’t apart of the plan when they had signed up for this but... well, she had gone after the ‘hero’ and ended up facing the electric and rock-type demon -- her three injured pokemon paying the price for her stupidity in not thinking things through.
Legendary pokemon, paradox pokemon, revarooms that were just straight up cars of destruction... that had been what had been going on around her... but not her priority. One by one each of the demons fell until the ghost and fire one remained. Her anger had surged knowing that’s where Leon had been seen last and where Bahamut (Charizard) and Tala (Leafeon) were fighting on their trainer’s behalf while he laid out unconscious with his Miyagi (Urshifu) laid beside him -- likely having taken the brunt of an attack. In her anger and rage, Ashe remembered little except Saoirise, her Primarina, and the one who had been the one to push her the most in this tournament had appeared. In a display of utter fae energy leaking through time continuum as Ashe thought it had been... but could have been wrong... let out a song that shook the forest to its core, taking down the last demon and a cherry blossom tree was summoned forth in its wake.
What remained was a forest blooming and people and pokemon crumbled to dust. Kianga had found them with Lavender (Espeon)’s help, and with the pokemon still in one piece returning to their pokeballs, they were carried back to Pallet Town -- Ashe passing out somewhere along the way--
A hand gripped her own and Ashe rose her head to find Leon waking up slowly. “... Hey. Take it easy.” She did her best to soothe him, moving to stand up and sit down beside him on the bed. The look in his eyes was one she didn’t think she’d see -- fear, and before she knew it, she was enveloped in his arms, being pulled down tight... and she didn’t fight it. She held onto him and felt tears sting her eyes. She could feel warmth of tears of his own as well. His mask breaking and fading in that moment. They had played friends and kept a guise up... but no more. No more.
With her help, Leon sat up straight and a kiss was exchanged, her hand on his cheek and his hands resting on hers, foreheads touching. “-- Don’t run off like that again on me--” “-- That’s my line--”
‘-- Alright lovebirds, mind toning it down?’
Both turned their heads to see Merlin, Ashe’s Delphox smiling at them. Ashe had a feeling but she had hoped he wouldn’t come. He couldn’t participate and with no registered trainer... well, people would question... so for now, he had to pretend to be a dumb ‘mon under Kianga’s care. Oh well.
‘Did you sort out your miscommunication?’ “Ah--” Both looked at one another then. “... Well, I thought you had gone to play hero with your win streak on your mind--” “-- I went to fight in my next match actually--” “-- Did you win?” “-- Surprisingly yes.” “-- That means you might have a shot at the semifinals!” Leon enveloped her in a hug and while Ashe wanted to scold him, she found she couldn’t. Instead, she could only hug him in return until she felt the prying eyes of her brother on them. Clearing her throat, she patted Leon and the man pulled away, smiling up at Kianga then. “You knew?” “I did.” Kianga hummed. “You just did not want to hear it.” He was in the midst of cleaning his hands then. With a sigh, he looked at Merlin and then at them. “We are almost out of time. REDACTED says if we want to finish this... we need to play our cards carefully. Use what time we have left sparingly. Say our goodbyes.”
Ashe sighed to herself. “I’ve got no ties. I’m going to see how far I can get and then that’s that, but...” She looked at Leon. “What about Rika and the others?” Leon seemed down about that. “... It is what it is.” That was a line Ashe had said too often and she sighed deeply at that much to their amusement.
“... So what’s going on outside?” “Chaos. People are injured. Radiation poisoning I hear and genetic assembly is going on. I have had to have our friend back home input a code to have me not show myself as I would to keep myself in one piece.” Kianga admits, his arms falling to his sides. “... Any news on us and the pokemon?” Leon looked over at his Urshifu in particular, sighing. ‘No radiation poisoning. These forms are injured however so take caution. Miyagi will have to take to the battlefield as he is, but to be sure Lavender will do what she can to heal him as will I. Plus our friend put some extra healing on his pokeball to speed up his recovery process.’ “I see... thank you.” Leon seemed detached for a moment but Ashe gently prodded his cheek. “Hey. You have to get your head in the game. One more match. Win or lose the Life and Death Champions will be chosen today. The rest doesn’t matter.” Ashe pointed out. She knew she was talking out her ass on that one but...
“... Yeah. Let’s just get everyone back to Saffron City with what we can then.” Leon gave a nod to Kianga who dipped his head and with that, it was decided jointly they would all head back to Saffron City under the nose of everyone. They had matches to see too and people to avoid for the moment. Ashe thankfully wouldn’t have to ask too much of her team for the moment, so she could keep an eye instead on Leon and his team -- but through it all, Merlin was keeping an eye on something attached to his wrist -- something that each trainer and pokemon wore and kept hidden somewhere on them to track their parameters... and the number was dangerously close to being at zero... some more then others...

SPARKLEZ!
You wouldn't believe the things I've seen. Or maybe you would. What do I know?
Worlds upon worlds of wonder have embraced my many selves. I'm living a thousand lives at once. And those are just the lives I'm aware of. For instance, in a place called Middle Earth I am reborn a beautiful elf queen. And under the ice shield of a moon called Europa I am a strand of plankton. And in a world we both know well, I'm a bunch of little girls who look just like me, and maybe other things too... Anyway, my umbrella consciousness has reformed for just a moment; my caretaker, in his mercy, has allowed me to show you these things.
But you definitely won't believe the most amazing thing I've seen. Lately I've been looking through a window... A window into bygone years. A man sits in front of a screen, speaking his soul to the world while playing a game. I think I know who he is!
I see this man forming friendships with those who also speak to the world. I know who they are too. They project themselves as tiny box figures into a world made of boxes. It's so much less detailed than the world where the man and his friends sit. I would not have known Ruxomar and it's sister dimensions to be so childlike in appearance except by this contrast!
The days go on as the friends play. The boxlike world is ruled by two gods. Of course I know who they are. The man is faced with a choice between the two. His life is riddled with choices! And like the stubborn idealist he is, he carves out a middle path. He'll take neither god. He'll have a goddess all to his own.
He created me.
A man named Jordan Maron created the goddess Ianite in a world beyond worlds. And Jordan Maron looks just like you. He is one of your countless alternate selves. He looks so much less boxy! I think that if I did not already know you and Spark so well, I would call him my favorite version.
Now I grasp the truth I have been seeking all my life. I have see what is above gods. It is ____________.
My umbrella consciousness won't hold much longer. Let me say a few choice words before the final goodbye between this version of you and this version of me. Thank you for choosing to create me. I believe that had the other you not made that choice in that far off world, none of my present selves would exist. In a strange sense, you are my god. Thank you for believing in your creation enough to make it real. Thank you for continuing to love me and make choices for my wellbeing. I hope another you loves another me in another world soon.
If Jordan looks out the window one of these days, he might be able to see me.
Not even creeping. Just fyi.
Forever Your Lady
