Snippet from you make me brave, a Longbee (Longshot x Smellerbee) work I'm working on based on the song "Ruin" by The Amazing Devil. This is more just proof that I am, in fact, still writing actual things still and not just posting stuff I wrote a year or more ago.

For the first time she can remember…her world is peaceful. One of the kids flashes down a zipline, yelling crazily, and she can hear Pipsqueak’s laughter somewhere in the distance. She kicks her legs back and forth, staring into the trees below her. They’re so high up, higher than she’s ever been before, and she can’t help but look down. Longshot nudges her, and for a split second she thinks she’s about to go down, her stomach lurching - and then Smellerbee catches herself. She glares up at him - he just raises his eyebrows, lip tilting up as he nods downward. Dare you to jump, he’s saying. (She’s never been quite sure how she knew what he was saying, without needing words. But she was.) Smellerbee snorts.” Jackass. You jump. With your shoulders you could probably fly.” Longshot glances down - then immediately shakes his head. She snorts, punches his shoulder - and as she meets his eyes, feels her cheeks flush, and she ducks her head. (There’s no way he didn’t see it. But does she care anymore?) Smellerbee takes a deep breath - then stiffens, as Longshot’s arm slowly settles around her back. She glances up at him; his face is just as red as she imagines hers to be. She takes a breath, and tilts her head over onto his shoulder, and for a moment, just for a moment, it’s like the world stops. And everything’s all right. (They’ve always been close, since the moment he tried to steal her dinner and she’d put his face into the dirt, almost four years ago. But now they’re attached. Funny how that worked out. They beat the crap out of each other, and here they are.) (If she could spend the rest of her life like this…well. Smellerbee wouldn’t mind that at all.)

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #yu ziyuan #Please allow me to make it clear how important I think the hug between YZY and JC is in regards to several aspects of their characters #For one - it is the resolution and reveal that behind all the harsh words and bitterness...She really did love her son. #A hug is a soft gesture that you would never expect from someone like YZY and the fact she shows JC this affection now - #-Tells us how she knows that this upcoming battle is a death sentence for her. #Her giving away Zidan is honestly overkill but another sign of her truly showing him how she loves him and wants him to survive. #The dread of knowing she's walking back to a fight without zidian and trying to keep up brave face one last time...chilling. #Zidian represents legacy and promises. And this is going to both save and destroy Jiang Cheng as he carries this weight alone. #Heartbreaking stuff! Didn't draw it in the comic because I wanted to draw a silly worm on a string! #WWX tried to help JC out of the knot but got stuck in it. #Those worm on a string tricks are harder than they look! #Also; it's been about a year since the last boat joke - but indeed this is the 11th boat of pd-mdzs. No need to do the math.

Poppy for N2 au, it took me so long to make her design cuz I didn't really know what I wanted to do only because I feel like her design is pretty perfect.

But then I just thought about fun outfits to give her or outfits that I would find comfortable if I was wearing them and it all came together.

Poppy here is pretty much the same as here movie counterpart, as nothing really changes on her end of things other than having more insight on Branch through his brothers, and through Lief. Shes also a bit more understanding a bit earlier on because of it but it doesnt do much to change her own character arc I would say.

Named after the Protea flower which part of her design is based off :D

In the context of this Au Protea was the one who conceptualized the tunnels while her son, King Peppy, was the one to follow through after her death

same age padawans au where they’ve been in a weird wired frenemies thing for ages but now that they’re both mature adults (all of 24/25 years old) they’re more friends than enemies….

And it’s Obi-Wan that Anakin tells when he’s decided he’s going to leave the Order, not anyone else. He has a wife. There was a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago and it made her want their relationship to stop being a secret so they could really have kids. He has to leave the Order. Doesn’t Obi-Wan understand?

Obi-Wan, who has been a little in love with Anakin since they were younglings, does not understand. Not one bit. Instead of wishing him well and helping him pack, he goes to the Council and requests a mission in the Outer Rim….perhaps a month long or more…perhaps undercover? No contact with anyone on Coruscant. And maybe they could assign Anakin Skywalker as his back up? He can help with the undercover aspect.

And at first, Anakin is pissed because he was planning to resign from the Order in the next few days, but Obi-Wan convinces him to go on this mission with him….one last mission as a Jedi. To say goodbye to the Jedi life.

Obviously, Obi-Wan sort of wants to go on one last mission with Anakin because in his dreams, he wants the mission to go so perfectly that Anakin stays with him the Order. But realistically, he mostly wants to go on this mission to say goodbye to Anakin and then let him go, soaking up all his warmth and light, memorizing every casual touch bestowed on him because he knows they’re ticking down to the last handful of seconds together.

But then obviously the mission works TOO well and Anakin falls in love with Obi-Wan but doesn’t admit to it even to himself before they’re on the ship about to head back to Coruscant and Anakin realizes he doesn’t want to leave this planet because he doesn’t want to leave Obi-Wan if it could always be like this so he crashes the ship during take off so they can stay longer because he’s 24 and doesn’t know how to handle the immensity of his love except through destruction

You know, I really like how Raph's anxiety is portrayed in ROTTMNT.

A lot of the time characters who have anxiety tend to be introverted and quiet and more on the passive side. And some people with anxiety are like that, and that's fine! However, when the majority of characters with anxiety are portrayed like this, you tend to get the sense that anxiety is synonymous with these traits, which isn't true.

Which is why I think Raph being a character with anxiety is so important. He's extroverted and he's loud and at times he's hotheaded. He's assertive and (initially) a leader, he's not afraid to speak his mind. AND he also becomes overwhelmed and worried rather easily, he panics when he's left alone for even short periods of time, he gets nervous under pressure very quickly, he has to take deep breaths to calm himself down on multiple occasions.

These aspects of his character don't contradict themselves, they're all just parts of who he is, and are treated as such! It's SO refreshing to see an anxious character who's allowed to be strong and brazen and outgoing, who takes care of others and who others look up to, who's anxious traits aren't boiled down to "shy" and "doesn't like people".

Happy Little Accidents

The last thing Eddie Diaz expects to come out of his trip to Buckley’s Plant Nursery & Landscaping with his son, is to develop an honest to god schoolgirl crush on the guy who owns the place (and not notice that that is what’s happening for an embarrassingly long time).  

The plan is simple. Get in, have Christopher pick out a couple of succulents or whatever he needs for his school project, and get out without infesting any of the gorgeous plants in the shop with his bad plant karma. 

But then, the first thing he’s greeted with is a hunk of a man, carrying two heavy packs of soil on his broad shoulders. Eddie swears he can see a drop of sweat running down the man’s face in slow motion. His t-shirt looks like it’s one strategic muscle flex away from bursting at the seams and Eddie—Eddie feels nervous all of the sudden. And he’s gaping like a fish. 

“Hey,” Hunk-man says as he hoists the soil on the counter next to him with a grunt, “What can I help you with?”

At least Eddie has enough self-awareness to close his mouth.

Or: the one where Buck owns a plant nursery and Eddie stumbles through his crush (and has no game during all of it)—oh and also, there are a lot of Bob Ross references.
