Andreil Soulmates AU | Part 4 | 03/01
Five minutes later, Andrew was alone.
The cafe was practically barren by now. Only a few students remained, crammed into the back corners with laptops, headphones and coffees that had long since gone cold. It wouldn’t be long before they too would be heading home.
He only had thirty minutes left until he could shower the smell of coffee from his skin, twenty minutes until he could lock the doors, and ten minutes until he could start munching his way through the left-over cake. Time seemed to go faster as he mopped the floor aimlessly, contemplating why on earth he had even bothered to go to college if his criminal justice degree was just going to collect dust under his bed.
After finally coercing the last customer to leave with a free cookie, Andrew was exhausted. It wasn’t as if he even tried to be polite, yet he still found his social battery drained at the end of every shift. The only thing that kept him going till the end was the free desserts, waiting patiently in the case for him to take them home.
Andrew packed up all four slices of leftover chocolate fudge cake into a box to devour for dinner, snatching up his jacket and his set of cafe keys in the process. He switched off the lights and set the alarm, before closing the glass door tight behind him.
It should have been simple. It should have been easy, just like every other time before.
I also heard that talking to those echoes helps a lot. Like, the guys who had imperfect ascensions. I mean, I did. I felt so much more in peace, even though it was also quite a desolate and melancholic experience. Idk why, they mostly either lamented over their failure to let go or admitted that they never wanted to ascend and just liked watching grass grow and time ebb and flow.
Andrew stared back with a near-faultless expression. The knife dug into Nathaniel’s side deeper every second, but he didn’t mind. In fact, he welcomed the pain as a sign that he was alive. It was nothing.
If he was to die at the hands of some five-foot, blonde goalkeeper, he wasn’t good enough to stand by Ichriou’s side.
"Give me a good reason why I shouldn't gut you where you stand," Andrew asked; splotches of hot blood began to form upon Nathaniel's shirt.
Kevin Day was the only thing that prevented Andrew from ending up in a heap on the floor. His shaken persona garnered Nathaniel’s attention as he grasped Andrew’s shirt, careful not to touch his skin. The blonde turned to look at him with fire in his eyes, but apathy in his gaze.
“We grew up together, Andrew. He’s–” Kevin cut himself off, finger running across his stupid cheek tattoo. Nathaniel had been lucky enough to avoid that particular tramp stamp. “Moriyama property."
obviously people steal things from other people it's one of the oldest tricks in the book but it still always surprises me to learn that people plagiarise because my introduction to the concept was basically being told that if i ever plagiarised anything i would be executed by firing squad and my head would be removed and displayed on a spike outside the walls of the hallowed academic institution i was attending as a warning to others
God I just fucking. I am so blown away when I watch any older movie. When they filmed on real sets and built elaborate props because cgi wasn’t an option. “Ohhh but you can tell it’s an animatronic it doesn’t even look reeaaallll” shut the hell your mouth. That is an actual physical thing that the actors could actually see and interact with. It is a billion times more “real” than the endless greenscreen bullshit you love so much.
