if ur a yg reader u already have the base context of skin change mechanics and yg!grian's backstory and whatnot. however if u r not theres a lot of context necessary for this one but for a basic tldr: grian gets dragon features from his extended time with the watchers. he had long hair before being taken but lost most of his identifying features during that time, and once he’s in the safety of hermitcraft he has a mini breakdown and cuts all of his hair off, leaving him mostly unrecognizable from the person he was before

either way this comic can be taken as a commentary on the dissociative aftermath of trauma, and not being able to recognize urself in the mirror. or it could be about knowing your friend is struggling and feeling helpless to assist in any meaningful way. or it could be about how tumblr completely chewed up the crispness of the images. but this comic is just as much about mumbo as it is about grian
