So if you've been following my #throwbackthursday posts you'd know i started picking up new skills in the mixing and production realm. But what i didn't mention was this man @deekeimixes . He actually helped me mix and master my last project I released Psychological Warfare. This man is a genius when it comes to mixing/mastering music, and just being in the studio with him Ive learned so much from how to approach a song and what to listen for. I look up to him and his knowledge so much that i now listen to his podcast on youtube every week, taking notes, and I learn something new every time. lol Oh and btw the way we met was from a friend a met on facebook @maikon801_. We chatted years ago, just about each others music and just networking... maybe like 5-6 years ago and kept in touch ever since. When I moved to Los Angeles we actually met for the first time and from there I was introduced to Deekei. So don't overlook internet connections. Ive met the realest people through the internet haha. Throwback to when I attended SXSW in Austin Texas. I was still developing my sound at this time, trying to network and find new opportunities that the industry provided. I remember clearly that this girl was going around interviewing artists, and asked if I would want a quick interview. Chopped it up for a minute talking about what brought me down there.. the year before this I went under a different alias “Mic Mar”. I found myself at a party talking to this artist about branding, he asked me a bunch of questions that I didn’t know the answer to. The next day is when I thought of the name Young Lit Hippy.
