Pregnant Reader Headcannons Part 2 (Aizawa, Shoto, Shinso, and Tamaki)

General info:

Part 1 (Izuku, Bakugo, Kiri, Denki, and Sero)

Aizawa Shota (707 words):

Aizawa always works hard, as we all know.

He not only teaches, but he also works as a pro hero during the night.

He's sleep deprived and very grumpy.. but not to you.

He's sweet and loving, though sometimes tsundere.

He spoils you with gifts and affection whenever he can, trying to slightly make up for the time away from one another.

When he finds out you're pregnant.. he's honestly scared.

He works so much.. how could he ever take care of a child? Not to mention the long and hard nine months you're going to have to face practically alone.

He doesn't show his worry however, he holds you close and kisses your face, reassuring you that everything is going to be okay and that he's happy.

He tries to get paternity leave about four months into your pregnancy, but he didn't actually get it until six months.

And that was from teaching.. he was still working in the middle of the night until you hit eight months.

He was exhausted.

He would wake up at seven, prepare his lesson, make you breakfast, clean up the house, and write you a love letter for you to find. (He secretly placed them in places easy to reach/find).

Afterwards, he goes back to bed and cuddles you until he has to get up again in a few minutes.

Whenever he has to leave you get really sad and it makes him feel so guilty.. especially if you cried or begged him to stay.

He gave you lots and lots of kisses, holding you tightly against him as he apologized, telling you that he would be home before you knew it.

He taught as best as he could even though he hardly got a few hours of sleep, and he graded papers and planned lessons whenever he was on break.

Sometimes he didn't even eat lunch, too busy focussing on his student's papers.

After school he picked you up a gift and wrote you yet another love letter.

He usually returned home with a bouquet of flowers, a treat you've been craving, something to do with one of your hobbies, and a letter full of love.

He'd wrap you in his arms, coddling you with kisses and praise.

The rest of his day was full of you, and only you.

He held you, kissed you, spoiling you in whatever way possible.

He couldn't really sleep well, unable to rest his eyes when you were laying next to him so.. vulnerable.

He usually watched you sleep as he waited for midnight.

When the clock hits midnight he starts to get ready for work, giving you a loving peck every time he passes your sleeping form.

He'll gently shake you awake when it's time for him to leave, telling you that he'll be back in a few hours and that he loved you.

He embraced you tightly, littering kisses up and down your face before giving you a long, proper kiss. Smiling at how you sleepily kissed back.

He left with one more 'I love you', and then he was off to go patrol the streets.

He actually gets off work an hour before he says he does, but he uses that time to get the rest of the papers for his students done.

He gets home about six am, showering before embracing you tightly.

He'll sleep with you for another hour before getting up about an hour later to get everything else done.

All in all he does his very best for you, and absolutely spoils you when he gets paternity leave.

You don't have to do anything but sit there, look pretty, and let your body make that baby.

I'd say he's fairly protective. He doesn't like anyone but 'his' people, and you are the one person who he would do anything for... and maybe Eri, but she comes later.

He intimidates anyone who dares make you uncomfortable.

Though if you're handling well than he'll watch behind you, smirking slightly.

All in all he's a selfless husband. He'd do anything for you, and he doesn't care if that means he gets even less sleep..

(He'll lie about the hours of sleep he's getting so you don't have to worry about him)

Todoroki Shoto (537 words):

Shoto always wanted kids, but he was too afraid to turn out like his dad.

So he never mentioned them, and you didn't either.

Well until you found out you were pregnant.

You were kinda scared to tell him at first, afraid that it would trigger ptsd from his childhood or something.

WEll, luckily for you, he wasn't upset.. at all.

He was nervous, yes. Really nervous, but he was excited and happy.

After a few minutes of staring at the test, thinking about what it meant, he pulled you into a tight embrace, lovingly kissing the apple of your cheek.

He got paternity leave at about five months.

He followed you everywhere, too worried about the 'what ifs' to let you do anything by yourself.

He wouldn't let you carry anything if it was remotely heavy.

Very protective, but in a lot less obvious way.

IF he notices someone looking at you in a lustful way he'll pull you into his chest, placing a hand on your baby bump as if he was screaming at them 'she's taken'.

If it came down to it, he would physically defend you.

But unlike Bakugo, only if he really needed to.

He'll glare and he'll tell them that you're married, but he won't physically harm them unless they started it, or they touched you/got into your space.

He gets really clingy, but he only hovers over you because he's too scared to hurt you and baby.

He'll usually cuddle you if you reassure him that he won't hurt you -or baby-, but he does get really really insecure sometimes and starts to overthink.

Most of the time the only way to pull him out of that is to be upset about it.

If you get really sad/angry he'll hold you against him, apologizing softly.

He'll help you however he can.

But he can't cook..

He literally almost burned the house down... twice.

He tried and tried, but he just can't seem to make anything but cereal.

So instead he hires you a chef.

He massages your feet, shoulders, back, belly bump, anywhere you need it.

You get a daily dose of cuddles and kisses. That isn't negotiable.

One day you were feeling very uncomfortable and didn't want any touch.. you left bed before Shoto and rejected his kisses.

He literally thought that you hated him.

He let you have your space, but he was so freaking sad.

He was angry too, but only at himself.

He started overthinking, thinking that he wasn't good enough, that he worked too hard, and that you deserve someone better.

The thoughts went on and on until he couldn't take it anymore.

HE shyly went over to you, gripping the bottom of his shirt tightly like a child, his head downcast and tears shining in his eyes.

"D-do you.. hate me?" He asked quietly, a tear falling down his cheek.

Your heart broke and you burst into tears, pulling him onto the couch next to you, holding him close as you sobbed, apologizing and telling him how perfect he was and how much you loved him.

He didn't believe you until you repeated it like five times and gave him over three dozen kisses.

He's still partly broken from his past, so even little things like that can make his brain go into overdrive, and he starts to get insecure.

That aside, he's a very sweet, thoughtful, and loving husband.

Shinso Hitoshi (165):

You both already stayed indoors most of the time, but this just cemented it.

He was a protective overthinker. He didn't want anything bad to happen to you.

He doesn't like many people, but when it comes to you he would literally kill for you.. even if that ruins his newly gained reputation.

He got paternity leave about four months into your pregnancy, spoiling you for the long five months afterwards.

He'd glare at anyone who stared at you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders to bring you closer to him.

If it came down to it he would use his quirk to get any creep far away from you.

You usually cuddle all day. It's actually pretty calming.

He takes care of you entirely, cooking, cleaning, the works.

He's amazing at foot massages.

He gets more sleep now because all he does is cuddle you.

He's not very good with helping you with your hormones, but the affection make up for it.

Amajiki Tamaki (430):

Tama is so freaking cute.

He's still shy ofc, but he musters up the courage to protect you.

He will get physical if it comes down to it.

But only if they start to try and touch you.

He's honestly so sweet.

He's so happy and yet so scared.

Out of everyone, he's most definitely the one that over tinks the most.

He worries about everything from him being a terrible parent to his kid getting his anxiety and hating him for the rest of their life because they're being bullied.

He starts to think about birthday parties and prom. What about his child's wedding?! They're father is going to be a mess!

Not to mention labor?!

What if he passes out?

What if you start to hate him?

What if you leave him? What if he fails you and your child?

His thoughts grow darker and darker as he falls into a pit of despair.

He'd probably grow into a depressive and if you don't snap him out of it.

Pull him into your arms, give him a long, proper kiss, and then just cuddle him.

Hold him to your chest, whispering sweet things in his ear.

He'll be better within 5-40 minutes.

Whenever you breakdown because of your hormones he'll break down with you.

He tries to be strong but seeing you cry breaks him.

He'll hold you, trying to reassure you as he's breaking down too.

He'll get your cravings whenever he can.

Even if it's two in the morning, or in broad daylight where he has to deal with a lot of people..

Like Shoto, he thinks you hate him if you get upset with him.

Though unlike Shoto, he won't come to you. He continues to take care of you, but he's obviously reserved.

He won't ask for cuddles, or even move to lay beside you.

He keeps to himself and when he's not taking care of you he's across the room, staring at the floor.

He could go on for weeks if you don't catch him.

He's a sensitive sweetheart, and he does need to be taken care of too.

Oh oh, he's also super good at cooking.

Due to his quirk, he's tried a lot of meals and cooks often.

If you want to try another recipe he'll secretly work on it for days, before shyly giving it to you to try.

He's very very insecure, so he trusts you a lot to let you try new recipes of his.

He loves you a lot, and the one thing he wants is your happiness and love.

PLEASE READ THIS IS ME TRYING FIRST, AS THIS STORY RELIES HEAVILY UPON THE CONTEXT OF TIMT

July 22, 1987

Dear Will,

You know when we were younger and you’d linger behind for a few minutes after Lucas and Dustin left my house? And when we’d have a short little conversation about something other than how we’d just hung out? Like, you’d pull some of your art out of your backpack to give to me, or I’d give you one of the new comic books I’d just finished and needed someone to rave about it with, or we’d schedule a time for us to hang out, just you and me? I think those little moments were the highlight of my childhood. I was so enamored of you, and your talent, and your knowledge, and your sweet personality. I looked forward to those moments even more than hanging out with the rest of the Party. I felt a little guilty sometimes about that, because I didn’t want to rank my friendships, but I just couldn’t help it. You’ve had me wrapped around your finger since the day we met.

We hadn’t had one of those moments in a long time. Mostly because of the fact that we spent the past few years fighting interdimensional monsters, but also because we drifted apart for a while, and then we lived together for months after the Vecnapocalypse, so you didn’t really need to “linger.” Once you moved into your new house (thankfully on this side of town, so you aren’t that far away anymore!), I’d gotten so used to you just going home like the rest of the Party. But that all changed tonight.

You grabbed the handlebars of your bike, just like the others, but then you stood still, mere feet away from me while we watched Lucas, Dustin, Max, and El pedal off into the distance. I looked down and saw you already looking up at me with that shy smile of yours. I wanted to kiss it off your face. I grinned back, and you pushed your kickstand down before taking a few steps closer to me. You reached out and I didn’t know what was happening, so I hesitated as you wrapped your arms around my neck and pulled me into a hug. I hope you didn’t feel me shaking as I hugged you back. But yeah, you told me you had fun tonight and thanked me for having you over. I don’t get why you still thank me for being a decent human being doing the bare minimum for our friendship when you’re the one who has given me a reason to keep going in this life.

You snapped me out of my sentimental thoughts when you said, “God, you got tall. It hasn’t really set in until now.” Honestly, it hadn’t set in for me either. It’s hard to believe I was 5’9” just last year, and now I’m 6’1”. I have an adult height with the mind of a kid. I was like, sorry about that, and you shook your head and told me I looked good. I still don’t see what you mean. But I whined a little bit about looking like a human chopstick, and you just laughed. Then you said something to me that made my vision go blurry, almost like I was going to faint. You said, and I quote, “Well, you’re a very cute chopstick.”

William. You can’t just say shit like that, not unless you want me to pass out and pass away. And I think that was your intention, because you looked so fucking smug after the fact.

I was so caught off guard by the fact that you called me cute that I couldn’t get any words out. You turned around quickly to get your bike and hopped on, giving me a small wave as you left my driveway.

And it hit me then: I love you. I am in love with you. Unabashedly, wholeheartedly, head over my fucking heels in love with you. And believe me, this has been a long time coming, and not just because you complimented me. I think I’ve loved you for a long time. I just didn’t know what it was.

Anyway, I’m gonna go shower and scream into my pillow. Have a good night.

There’s a relaxing/ comforting energy that I’m getting for you collective, now I do feel like things have been feeling stuck/ stagnant for a lot of you. But it’s time to get back to the basics.. back to life and back to reality! Flufftober Day 30: Dear diary

Ship: Saeyoung x F!Reader (yet again)

Warnings: Swear words, Mystic messenger spoilers for 707's route, and all of the warnings that come with this route lol

dear diary theres a bomb in my apartment

Surely MC had a lot of trauma to write about in these times... so why was she writing about him?

Saeyoung knew you had a diary, he had already noticed just by watching the CCTV, knowing the path your life was taking Saeyoung very well thought he knew why.

It looked like it was fairly new as well, so he just assumed it was to cope with the hacker situation and all that. In fact, he even joked that the first page of your diary must have looked like this:

Dear diary, there's a fucking bomb in my apartment.

And everytime he saw you write he replayed that joke in his head, even if he had repeated over and over again that he shouldn't get distracted for even a split second.

He almost wanted to scold you for distracting him by writing so close to him but he didn't quite have it in him; being mean towards you took such a toll on him; besides, he didn't want to keep you from expressing how you felt about the situation in such a healthy manner... it must have helped you so much, he didn't want to take it away from you. Even if that distraction put the both of you in danger.

Yet it seemed like you were really asking to get scolded. Because somehow, your diary always found itself in Saeyoung's vision. Did you really want him to distracted? Did you really want the both of you to die? Well it should never have been that distracting to him.. why was Saeyoung doing this? Luciel didn't understand the reasoning behind his own distractions... damn, he really should have been able to reason himself...

"Should have"

Because he didn't reason himself, but not by shouting at you again, he didn't have enough emotional energy for that, making you sad was so hard... even if Luciel knew the logical solution was to reprimand you he didn't quie have it in him. After seeing you that hurt last time he never would have it in him again.

So instead of acting on his false anger, he acted on his curiosity. A distracting curiosity of course, such a nuisance.

And this wasn't even intruding your privacy actually! Since he already all that was happening... he was just, studying human reactions to danger! Exactly!

But what he found wasn't exactly the traumatic stuff he expected... even without reading it seemed happier. The letters and words weren't sharp and smashed together as he always so, as he thought he would have did if only he could have afforded to leave a trace.

No, instead the letters were all round and bubbly, just like the MC from the messenger.. it was reassuring to find out you weren't that different! But what if this was a trap... no, if he had already made his way there he had to trust you. He wouldn't let his paranoia kick in just yet.

But the words were as nice as the writing, for the most part... each time he reprimanded you, he could see a shift in the diary. And for cause, the diary was about him? What did you find interesting in him... Saeyoung wondered. Wait, you shouldn't even write about him, that's too dangerous! Luciel knew.

However, looking at the diary he was completely caught in your thoughts... you seemed to adore each small thing about him, things he didn't even notice he did...

So while he should've been angry because of the potential danger, your softness caught Saeyoung so off-guard that he... didn't get angry and scream like Luciel planned. Instead he picked up a pen and... answered you. He wrote about all the little things he loved in you, from your habits to your expressions, he had noticed it all.

He knew this was dangerous and that he was risking his life, but what would life be if he didn't manage to be with you like here?

Was what Saeyoung wondered, as a distraction of course.

Imagine playing Animal Crossing with Seven.

You're finally getting to visit his island. He's been hyping it up for a while now and you were admittedly curious how a man like him would decorate his virtual space. You're not sure what you were expecting, but you honestly should have seen this coming. When you get there, it is the craziest hacked town you've ever seen. There's everything from scattered trees bearing every conceivable collectable crafting item to the town hall being submerged in the ocean to every villager being replaced with Zipper T. Bunny. You have a slight suspicion that some of his feature manipulation was done specifically to coax an entertaining reaction from you. You are both astounded and concerned.

"Seven, you can't do that! What if your account gets banned for hacking??"

"Hehehe...they'll never catch me~"

He will hook you up with the best items if you ask nicely.

He is capable of decorating like a sane human being, he just has more fun making you freak out.

After your first visit, he starts sending you cute letters every so often. It never fails to make you smile when you log on and check your mailbox to find one or two short and silly letters from the great 707 himself.

"Baam! It's God 707 coming in to bless you with the spoils of my hard work. No need to thank me, it's all part of my job to provide for my honey~ Hahaha, I sounded a bit like Zen there for a second, didn't I?"

"...Seven, please stop mailing me golden toilets."

You two may even be able to rope Yoosung into joining if you can get him away from LOLOL long enough.

"Lololololol, Y/N, I told Yoosung I'd get him some new armor in LOLOL if he could catch a tarantula...and he just about cried when he missed!"

"But there were so many of them! Seven, you didn't tell me there would be so many! How did you even spawn that many at once??"

"That's beside the point."

Overall, you guys have a lot of fun together. Seven is often pretty busy, so you treasure the nights that he has the time to go fishing or bug hunting with you, the two of you chatting the whole time. It's a time of peace. Or... well, as peaceful as anything can be when you're doing it with Seven. But you wouldn't have it any other way.

happy wincest wednesday to you, and what an interesting question! I have 129 fics actually tagged with the Sam/Dean relationship, so we won't count any of the heavy gencest or whatever. I guess it depends on whether you say least-kudoed or least-hits, which probably has overlap -- let's see --

Which makes sense -- the property's been shelved and it's just going to be us diehards that stick around. (Plus the noobs who appear and watch the whole thing, and then have to go through the same emotional journeys we already did, lol.) That along with how most people prefer to engage with fic, i.e. they prefer not to engage with it, makes sense to me.

For the ones that are less recent but still not popular -- they're all pretty short and pretty non-explicit. Fandom clicks on fucking before they'll click on aaaanything else, regardless of high-minded meta and characterization talk, so if something's just like T rated it's gonna languish in obscurity. I'm a little bummed that the outsider and crimes are ignored out of the A Perfect Circle series, because I really like them as a twofer -- Sam and Dean struggling on either end of s8 is compelling to me, though they're both shorties and no one's dick is out, so. Similarly I prefer not to write first time despite it being by FAR the most popular type of fic, so gentle little established relationship married ficlets really get lost by the wayside in favor of some teen butterfly tummies. A bummer but what can you do. Shrug emoji.

So -- not a surprise! But also not something that's going to change what I like to write. I'll just be depressed about it and try to trudge on regardless, lol.

You stared at the envelope on your nightside table along with the small necklace beside it. You smile to yourself, knowing it was probably something Saeyoung built himself.

The spot beside you in bed was empty when you awoke, only the envelope and whatever it was your boyfriend had made you remained. He was probably out on a mission or something–or perhaps just getting some food, who knows.

You smile, picking his new invention up and opening it. It resembled a locket, but more modern. Inside was a picture of the two of you together. His arms wrapped around you as you kissed his cheek. Feeling all warm inside, you pick up the envelope, open it and read its contents;

My Dear 606,

Happy Valentine’s Day Agent! Another Valentine’s Day together to add to the list, I love it. I hope you like the locket I made. You can store any pictures from your phone on it and change them around whenever you want. I’ll show you how it works once I get back home. the thing is-- I would love to send some asks about saeyoung for the alphabet list, but canon already feeds us so well like... he feels fleshed out and realistic. I can use actual story details to learn more about him... Every time you have a headcanon it makes so much sense, like, of course that would be how he sleeps with mc (IN THE BED) and the nicknames he would have for them. that being said, let's start down the line for the rest of the letters you haven't hit yet! How about b, d , and e for the bunker gang so they don't feel excluded lol.

Canon is very kind to the Choi twins! We have a LOT on them. But headcanons are still fun for the gaps or to see how they interact with different types of MCs, etc etc.

I'm honored you think my headcanons make sense for Saeyoung, though! He is the love of my life >w<

Saeyoung

B: Saeyoung is 100% banned from the kitchen. Saeran actually put up a sign saying "KEEP OUT" with a picture of Saeyoung on it. (He tried "Keep out Saeyoung" but then he insisted his name was Luciel, then 707, then Chilyoung, etc.) Vanderwood thought that wasn't enough and put up another sign in the kitchen itself saying "ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, BRAT." You blow up like, 3 appliances, and suddenly you're a menace to society who can't be trusted to pour a bowl of cereal.

D: Saeyoung is the type who “relaxes” by keeping active. He will pick dates that are adventurous and full of whimsy, if given the option. He'd want to go to a fair, or an amusement park, or an aquarium, or accidentally-on-purpose enter himself and MC into a paintball tournament. He has to lay low at times knowing his father is still a threat, but he can do exciting dates at home, too! Puppet shows with a star projector in the background! Video game tournaments! Cupcake Wars until Vandy catches them and chases them out of the kitchen with a broom!

E: Giving gifts!!! As much as he loves physical touch, he finds himself overstimulated more easily than he's ready to admit. And he loves telling MC how much he adores them, but he gets flustered easily too. However, this man really said "I'm going to build you a cute fire-breathing robot dog, and then a robot cat that's programmed to act like 707 so you never get lonely, and also a penguin robot for my brother that dispenses ice cream, and--" He's a gift giver, but he builds all his gifts. He loves tinkering to make creations that make people happy!

SE Saeran

B: Saeran enjoys baking moreso than cooking, but he cooks plenty! Sometimes following a recipe is a good way to dissociate as you stir and pour and measure for a while. He also knows that if he wants real food (for the first time in his life, tbh), he has to make it himself because Saeyoung is a lost cause in the kitchen. He actually has fun learning to cook simple recipes and testing both his culinary and dietary limits, but he won't admit it.

D: A date? With SE? That's just sitting on opposite sides of the couch, with him and his love interest eating their preferred snack (ice cream for him), and maybe watching TV or reading books or just doing their own thing. He's peak parallel play. Just existing in someone else's presence and not feeling tense and guarded... means the world to him.

E: Quality time. SE is someone who's unfairly accustomed to being alone. He has severe abandonment issues and does not trust easily. So if he's willing to spend time with someone, just being in the presence of another while they read or do chores, that's the ultimate sign that he cares.

Vanderwood

B: Vanderwood is the main reason anyone stays alive in the bunker. You can't survive on HBC and PhD Pepper, Saeyoung!! If Saeyoung's MC can't cook, then Vandy has to step up to the plate. They've been keeping the brat alive for this long, after all. They have a leopard print apron and do a lot of meal prep.

D: Oh lord. If you want Vanderwood to ever be vulnerable enough for anything resembling a date, good luck. They try not to get close to people anymore. Even after the agency is dismantled, Vandy still struggles to build connections, if only because he knows how dangerous it is to care about people. He knows how quickly & easily the people they love can be taken away. (That being said, Vandy would be into casual dates. Just going for walks or watching plays. Maybe hit up a museum. Just enough to feel close but also keep his lover at arm's length.)

E: Acts of service, for sure. They clean Saeyoung's place! They make sure he doesn't die on missions! They negotiate with the boss when Saeyoung is procrastinating! They make sure he eats more than chips and soda! Vanderwood will huff and puff about doing chores or looking out for others, but does it anyway. Do they actually mind, or is it a front? Damn tsundere. We see you let out a resigned sigh and a half-smile as you run errands.

Luna's Review: Collar x Malice

Official Summary:

A dangerous shadow organization launches a campaign of fear and violence in the city of Shinjuku, pushing society to the brink of chaos. As a young police officer tasked with restoring order, you become the target of an attack, and have a poisonous collar attached to your neck. With the situation spiraling out of control and time running out, five mysterious strangers appear to aid you in your quest for the truth.

(Spoiler Free) Luna's Thoughts:

This was the otome game that got me into otome games for the switch. Before CxM, I was pretty much exclusively playing indie vns on itch.io. Which are lovely and often well-written, but usually smaller productions and thus much shorter and done on a smaller budget. CxM was the first full-length otome I played and it made me think, incorrectly it turns out, that all professionally made otomes were as good as this one. As you'll note by my other review (and future ones to come), CxM imposed extremely high standards and it's perhaps unfair to compare other games to it.

It's tightly plotted, has an interesting cast of characters and features beautiful art. The limited color palettes and washed-out backgrounds and coloring style give the game an ominous feel that works very well with its dark murder mystery premise.

This game also does something I really enjoy, which is that it makes the "routes" make sense. Often in otome games, things happen in routes that should, by all means, happen whether you're on the character's route or not. For example, in Mystic Messenger, Zen sprains his ankle in three of the routes, but not in Jumin's route or 707's route. This doesn't really make sense, because why would you cozying up to those characters prevent Zen from spraining his ankle?

But in CxM, you choose the character you want to investigate with, providing a realistic explanation for why you are only dealing with that particular character. This is a small detail but I really appreciated it.

I did think it was a little silly to have numerous random dead ends, but I suppose that sort of thing isn't uncommon in these types of games. I did like that it gives you a chance to see the stars of other routes before you get to properly meet them. It adds to the intrigue.

While it has its flaws, including several editing errors, I ultimately really liked this game. It felt satisfying to solve the mystery and the game actually gives you an opportunity to guess the culprit, letter by letter, which felt nerve-wracking and awesome. The characters were fun and the darkness felt congruent with what I was expecting going in.

I'm looking forward to doing some art of these characters soon.

Please find below my thoughts on each route, in the order I played them.

Takeru Sasazuka Route

Allow me to start by saying this is not my favorite character archetype. I just don't love characters who are openly hostile toward others and continue to be mean even after the MC has earned their affection.

That said, Sasazuka's love for donuts was the gap moe I needed to get on board, if only because he reminded me of L from Death Note.

Sasazuka's route kicks off a trend of largely reasonable decisions in this game. He has a simple but understandable motivation for wanting to solve the X Day incidents, simultaneously jabbing at American gun laws. (We deserve it.)

This route also sees Ichika getting drunk — cute!

I'd rate this route my second favorite out of the game.

Kageyuki Shiraishi Route

This is another character archetype I don't love — the overconfident flirt. That's why I played him second, though I was recommended against it. Technically you should play him fourth, right before the true end route, but I didn't particularly mind the order because I didn't love this route.

I admit he's kind of a fun character, because he's hella suspicious right at the beginning, and kind of suggests he's the traitor, to the point where when he's revealed to, in fact, be the traitor, I was kinda surprised. He also has a cat theme going on, which is very cute.

His backstory is pretty straightforward, but relies on mind manipulation tropes, so it wasn't as convincing as some of the others. I would have been more satisfied with a split personality sort of thing, or even if he was a traitor by his own will. Instead, he seems fully aware of everything that's going on, including his own brainwashing, but doesn't act like he has any internal conflict except at strategic moments in the plot.

It would have been a lot more interesting have him either unaware of his own transgressions until later, or have him willingly be a member of Adonis who becomes conflicted as he grows closer to Ichika.

Maybe this is just a weird, roundabout way of saying I wanted him to suffer more lol.

Shiraishi does get the short end of the stick, as his good ending has him losing his memories. But you know our girl Ichika will set him straight again.

Mineo Enomoto Route

I love me a tsundere, so it's no surprise this was my favorite route in the game. It was fairly lighthearted compared to the others because Mineo is such a goof, but it was a nice break in the darkness and I'm glad I played his route right in the middle.

This character is so cute, and a total idiot with no idea how to talk to girls. He's picked on so much by the other characters in the game and I just wanted to show him some love.

He sucks at thinking, but the best scenes are the ones in which he springs into action, showing his prowess in the field. Typically these meathead athletic characters are not my favorite, but Mineo was undeniably cool jumping off rooftops and such.

I love love love Mineo's relationship with Ichika's little brother. Their friendship was honestly so refreshing and adorable.

There is some silliness at the end where they set up a fake talk show, but ultimately it was done in good spirits with the idea of forgiveness. To top it off, this idiot actually proposes at the end of his route. It was a silly but sweet ending for a sweet character.

Kei Okazaki Route

This was probably my least favorite route in the game, but only because I didn't think they went far enough with the theme.

Okazaki is a listless man who has witnessed tragedy and desires nothing more than a riteous way to die. Which is a horrifying premise, but I was never fully convinced by it. I didn't feel like his relationship with Ichika progressed naturally and I didn't come to care for him in the way I wanted to.

I think this route would have been more impactful if there was more of a disconnect between his goals and his personality. He was a little too bland to make his death wish truly a shock. I felt like he should have been more cheerful to create cognitive dissonance between his persona and his goals. He kind of feels like the outline of a character rather than a character itself.

Not to mention the game lacks a genki character archetype. Wouldn't it be more interesting to have a cheerful character who turns out to be utterly empty and suicidal?

I guess what I'm saying is I wish there was more to Okazaki. To me, he was the least developed character and the least interesting.

Aiji Yanagi Route

I remember something telling me before I played Yanagi's route that it was boring, and they were kinda right lol.

Like, it was fine. There wasn't anything technically wrong with it. He just doesn't have the most interesting backstory. When he was a teen, he protected young Ichika by beating up her kidnapper, and he felt bad for it for the rest of his life and now spends his time trying to atone for it.

My least favorite part of this route was discovering that Ichika had a traumatic event in her past that was not even mentioned in the common or other routes. So it made Yanagi's connection to her seem really sudden.

Yanagi is a reasonable guy. But he lacks that wow factor that you hope for in a main character. There isn't any way to describe him that makes him sound interesting. He could have easily been improved any number of ways. The easiest would have been giving him some sort of anger management issues. Or at least a more extreme personality.

I did like his chats with Ichika on the roof of the police station, and I like that he has doubts about their age gap and gets embarassed calling her by her first name. He's a sweet guy. Just maybe not true end material.

Overall kind of a weak way to end the game, but I didn't hate it. I think he would have been better as a regular route. Shiraishi or Okazaki would have probably been the best choices for true end characters.

The Mandakat Ultimate OC Tournament!

Yeah, I'm actually doing a massive poll of all of my OCs. Yes, I am totally insane.

Here's the basic rundown:

707 OCs enter the battle. Yeah, that's a lot. Truthfully, there's a high chance of more being added before qualifiers are even over. Last minute contestants will be allowed until qualifiers end. After that, we're sticking with who we got.

We're starting with qualifiers, going through every letter of the alphabet (plus any extras added later in their own section). At the end of the qualifying round, the top 300 characters will pass to the next round. This means the winners and runners up of each poll are basically guaranteed to move on. There may be tiebreaker polls to fill the remaining spaces, unlesss there are clear shoe-ins for the spots.

Rules and format of the follow-up rounds will be announced once qualifiers end.

For qualifiers, each OC will only show their name and a headshot. There will not be any more information on them given unless interviewed by the press. (Ask box) Feel free to do some research to narrow down your vote, but if I get a ton of asks, it'll take a while to answer all of them.

Each round, more information on the remaining contestants will be revealed, letting voters get a better feel for who they're cheering for. (This also keeps me from having to write a massive description for everyone in round one)

This contest is going to be a massive time investment and it already has taken quite a bit of time as I'm set on having a reference image for literally every OC featured. That's a lot of drawing. This means I really do appreciate people sharing the posts if they don't mind. (It also means you can use your friends to boost your favorite character's votes)
