Every Now & Then We Go Through Cycles Where We Outgrow Our Environment — Work, Lifestyle, Partners, Friends, & even Family! These Major Life Changes Signify Your Growth but Don’t Discount the Ways in which They Contributed to It! Change is Like Death but You Must Honor the Stages — Acknowledge & Grieve, Reflect & Accept, Appreciate & Celebrate, & See How It Has Served You in Your Life’s Evolution! The Times When You “Feel Out of Sorts” are typically Signaling Where You’re Mourning a Loss because of a Change in Your Life — Simple as Change in Habits, Routines & Schedule or as Profound as the Loss of a Loved One, Close Pet or Human! And the Holidays often bring up the Melancholy for those who have made several trips through them. Be Gentle with YourSelf! 🤍💛🤍 #stagesofgrief #griefjourney #griefsupport #griefawareness #changeyourthoughts #honoryourself #feelitall #humanbeing #yourfeelingsarevalid #youareworthy #lifecycle #changemaker #inspirationquotes #whenyoufeelalone #yourenotalone (at Clearwater, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmNWwpRMDr_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Self- validation starts with self-validating statements
"My feelings and emotions are real and valid"
"I give myself permission to ..."
"Mistakes help me learn, my mistakes do not define my value"
"I am enough as ia m"
"Crying and expressing is okay"

Your rage is valid and necessary. None of this is normal. My body feels that, and I will honor the fury it holds. . guilt-induced gratitude
yesterday I got the first dose of the covid vaccine. &yes I can confirm I did not turn into a zombie monster alien creature.  but also the experience wasn’t all butterflies&rainbows. I had symptoms (to be expected).  &at the peak of my symptoms, feeling all yuck&blah, I caught myself saying “people wish they could have what I got, so I will suck it up & be grateful”.
yeah, guilt-induced gratitude hitting me hard.
now, more than ever, in my opinion of course, there is so much pressure to feel grateful for health. all around me is pain&suffering, death&grieving.  i should be grateful for my health & the opportunity to be vaccinated, right? my discomfort is temporary & less than the suffering of the ones around me, right? maybe right. but that does not make my situation invalid.  &guilting myself into gratitude is only further invalidating my feelings.
guilt grabs gratitude like weapon to use against me.
my feelings are valid.  I am allowed to feel my feelings.  it is okay to not feel grateful in this moment, I will try again later.

Hurting others is not valid
You are so totally allowed to have feelings, and they are valid - you can’t just change your feelings.
You are allowed to not want to interact with people, to need the silence. You are allowed to need the company.
You are allowed to be angry, sad, confused, anxious - what have you.
But you can not use your feelings as validation to hurt people. When you have come to a point where you don’t care about how others feel when you lash out because of your own internal problems, that is the indicator that things have been left alone too long.
You cannot use others as your doormat simply because you have mental health issues. You cannot blame the condition when you refuse offered and available help.
Your mental health is important, and valid, and deserves attention. This does not give you permission to make it your scapegoat and go about life as you please. We all share this world, we all have our own trauma to deal with, let’s help each other by helping ourselves.

Mental Health Matters
What is mental health?According to the World Health Organization (WHO) : “Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”
In addition to this, the WHO stressed that mental health is “more than just the absence of mental disorders or disabilities.” Peak mental health is not only about avoiding active conditions but also looking after ongoing wellness and happiness. Also, looking after our own mental health can preserve our ability to enjoy life. The organization also emphasized that preserving and restoring mental health is crucial on an individual basis, as well as throughout different communities and societies the world over. Preserving and restoring mental health involves reaching a balance between life activities, responsibilities, and efforts to achieve active psychological resilience.
We all know that mental health is part of our well-being. It refers to our cognitive, behavioral and emotional well-being. It can affect our daily living, relationships and also our physical health. So basically, it includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being and it affects how we think, feel, and act. Here in the Philippines, before, Mental Health was a taboo topic and no one would want to talk about it. Sometimes, those who have mental health issues will be often called: "baliw" or "siraulo" by those people who know nothing about mental health or mental health issues. Nowadays, we now give value to our mental health since more and more people have become more open and accepting in talking about the said issue. Since the pandemic started, people became more encouraging and supportive with the people around them since preserving our mental health in these trying times may really be tpugh especially now that we are all uncertain of when will this pandemic end. In order o fully understand why people experience mental health issues or disorders, let us dig deep into the risk factors that may have caused it:
1. Continuous social and economic pressure
- Having limited financial means or belonging to a marginalized or persecuted ethnic group can increase the risk of mental health disorders.
* Under this are the modifiable factors for mental health disorders include:
-socioeconomic conditions, such whether -work is available in the local area
occupation
-a person’s level of social involvement
education
-housing quality
* Nonmodifiable factors include:
-gender
-age
-ethnicity
2. Biological factors
Having a gene with links to a mental health disorder, such as depression or schizophrenia, does not guarantee that a condition will develop. Likewise, people without related genes or a family history of mental illness can still have mental health issues. Mental health conditions such as stress, depression, and anxiety may develop due to underlying, life-changing physical health problems, such as cancer, diabetes, and chronic pain.
It is also important to be aware of the common mental health disorders.
The most common types of mental illness are as follows:
*anxiety disorders - most common type of mental health disorder
*mood disorders - People with these conditions have significant changes in mood, generally involving either mania, which is a period of high energy and elation, or depression.
*schizophrenia disorders - Mental health authorities are still trying to determine whether schizophrenia is a single disorder or a group of related illnesses. It is a highly complex condition.
Now that you know about the basic mental health disorders, it is also important to notice the early sign of the said mental health disorders so that we may treat it early and find a solution as soon as possible.
-withdrawing from friends, family, and colleagues
-avoiding activities that they would normally enjoy
-sleeping too much or too little
-eating too much or too little
-feeling hopeless
-having consistently low energy
-using mood-altering substances, including alcohol and nicotine, more frequently
-displaying negative emotions
-being confused
-being unable to complete daily tasks, such as getting to work or cooking a meal
-having persistent thoughts or memories that reappear regularly
-thinking of causing physical harm to themselves or others
-hearing voices
-experiencing delusions
Treatment
There are lots and variety of treatment for mental health disorders. However, treatment may vary from people. What works for others, may not work for you and what works for you may not work for others.
Some of the common treatments include:
1. Psycho-therapy or talking therapy
Psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and some primary care physicians carry out this type of treatment.
2. Medication
Note that medication do not cure the mental health problem, it can only improve the symptom and help a person resume normal routine and social interaction while working on their mental health.
3. Self help
A person coping with mental health difficulties will usually need to make changes to their lifestyle to facilitate wellness.Such changes might include reducing alcohol intake, sleeping more, and eating a balanced, nutritious diet. People may need to take time away from work or resolve issues with personal relationships that may be causing damage to their mental health. People with conditions such as an anxiety or depressive disorder may benefit from relaxation techniques, which include deep breathing, meditation, and mindfulness.
Also, having a support system, whether via self-help groups or close friends and family, can also be essential to recovery from mental illness.
Lastly, remember that you are not alone in this, we are all here for you :>
Suicide Prevention:
If you know someone at immediate risk of self-harm, suicide, or hurting another person:
*Ask the tough question: “Are you considering suicide?”
*Listen to the person without judgment.
*Call 911 or the local emergency number.
*Stay with the person until professional help arrives.
*Try to remove any weapons, medications, or other potentially harmful objects.
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, a prevention hotline can help. The National Center for Mental Health Crisis Hotline is available 24/7 at 0966-351-4818
