so a few months ago, i make a comment on a yt short about placentas (geninely interesting btw, here it is if you wanna watch it: https://youtube.com/shorts/12fvwnAyaxA?si=-CRL_nOu3X7cymWa) using the word "fetus" in it. since i had commented when the short was still new, it became a top comment, however that is not the point of this post. i of course got a bunch of pro-lifers in my replies using increasingly creative ways to tell me that "its a BABY not a FETUS" (which... no. shut the fuck up ok.) and this one reply has me rolling it says

"you are wepaonizing these medical terms to dehumanize a human being. It's like justifying killing a 2 year old by saying it's not a child it's a toddler. Like, it doesn't matter what you call it it's still a human being."

like HUH???

firstly, that is not what my comment was ever about, and the reply that you were replying to was also not about that???? i was just explaining that its a fetus not a baby???? and they are not the same term??

other favorite replies include:

keep in mind that my comment was a silly one-- nothing to do with abortion or anything of the sort, i was simply describing that i was a bit stupid.

Aromanticism is not a subset of asexuality, and should not be grouped under the term asexual as if it is. Doing so erases aromantic allosexual people by making being asexual a barrier to entry to being aromantic.

No, it doesn't matter that's how it's been used in the past. Terminology changes. No, it doesn't matter if you don't mean it that way, people trying to figure out their identity will still see that you're grouping aromantic under asexual and assume they can't be aromantic because they're not asexual (partially why it took me so long to figure out I'm aro).
