So I've been watching my Decked Out vids with @/capriciouswriter207's maps of the dungeon open in other windows, trying to follow along and learn the layout. And at the moment, I'm mainly watching Hypno and Etho, which makes for an interesting comparison of their play styles.

Hypno's runs are SO much easier to follow than Etho's. Partly because Etho will sometimes edit out a few seconds here and there, and the clips can be a little confusing, but mostly because Etho just goes SO FAST all the time. No hesitation, almost no sneaking, he just blitzes the dungeon every single time.

Hypno is a much more cerebral player, with which nets him a lot of wins because of how he's able to think three steps ahead. He's playing Tango/the dungeonmaster as much as he's playing the dungeon itself, and he's constantly looking for new details and possible secrets. He's a thorough player -- and for someone trying to follow along, his detailed narration and methodical method (like how he always, always goes straight/right out of the gate and never left) make it easy to track.

Etho is way harder to follow. He strafes a lot more, he spins and dodges and starts one way and ducks another at the last second... But in the end, he ends up coming out on top because he's so able to think on his feet. If something takes Hypno by surprise, he has a tendency to think too much and freeze up for the critical half second it takes for him to get ravagered. Etho is just so good at reacting -- he has hair-trigger instincts and can reevaluate a situation faster than most people can even realize it's happening.

But boy does it make him hard to follow along with, lol.
