I managed to compare the Satou family to a piece of Italy's greatest literature (this is where billions of years of evolution led us to)
The literature in question is La Divina Commedia (The Divine Comedy) by Dante Alighieri and I'm not exactly sure it makes sense but.
The specific part I'm referring to is in Inferno, Canto XXXIII, where betrayers of the country reside. The Canto's protagonist is Count Ugolino della Gherardesca, his punishment consists of being stuck waist/chest-deep in ice alongside the one who betrayed him, Archbishop Ruggeri (like Gashu is forever tied to Asu-Naro, the ones who ruined his life).
Count Ugolino's great focus on politics, his job, ended up being what caused him the greatest pain he damns in the Comedy ("Ah! obdurate earth, wherefore didst thou not open?") (like Gashu's devotion ultimately took everything away from him) .
Lots of political stuff happened that I personally don't remember and don't find important to describe in detail, just know that Count Ugolino was punished with a death sentence, but not him alone. He was locked in a tower with his sons and grandsons (for metric reasons, Dante claimed they were all sons), forced to starve to death. During his obliged stay in the tower, he had to witness his sons and grandkids begging for help, in utter despair, to the point of begging for him to kill and eat them to free them from the pain. (like Gashu had to accept what was going to happen to his sons, knowing that there was nothing he could do that wouldn't only further harm them and knowing that it's his fault) After about six days, he was the only one still alive, limping among the corpses, calling out their names either in hopes for at least one of them to answer or out of pain/hunger-induced madness. (like Gashu created Ranger is Sei's image and went low-key insane after the assassin trial)
Then hunger won over pain. (like Gashu's devotion to AS goal brought him to kill the replica of his son)
I don't know if this makes sense, I'm really sleepy and also sick,, I just wanted to talk about The Divine Comedy
DAY 157 fun halloween prank! dress as your neighbor's dead best friend!(steal the clothes from their corpse for more accuracy!) the look on their face will be priceless!
