I just spent 5-6 hours editing this update, and it probably would be good to go now, but I am feeling pretty tired and I’d like to still double check some things (such as color correcting some minor things) and I’m just not up for that today.

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t think I’d work on this update or get it out today, but here we are.

And some “fun” facts about the video itself:

-This video wasn’t part of my original, initial plan for YTWC’s Black when I started the comic back in 2015. I think I came up with the idea for the video sometime in 2016.

-The outro scene wasn’t originally going to be part of the video, but a separate comic update instead. However, I feel like people easily miss the small in-between updates and because this one was fairly important to the story, I made it part of the video (you can see it was a very late addition: the storyboard for it was made in February 2020, around the time I finished all the other drawings for the video. The other storyboards were done in August 2019)

-If you compare the storyboards with the video, you can see that some shots were altered/removed/added. Also things are a bit out of the order in the first two pages (the numbers show the order of every sequence). Also most of my notes are in Finnish, so here’s them translated (under the cut):

I have all the drawings for the next YTWC’s Black update done and scanned. Now it’s only the matter of kicking some motivation into my lazy ass and edit the whole thing.

And to prevent another “takes over two months to edit when couple weeks would’ve sufficed only because I was lazy“ scenario, I’ve actually set myself a deadline which I very much want to keep. (not going to tell what it is, but it’s pretty near in future)

Also I’ve already started drawing the update after this one because apparently I have no problem with drawing this comic but editing is the worst thing ever.

Me: Okay, maybe I can get this video out today...

My video editor: Oh? You want a crash?

Me: No, I-

My Video Editor: You want a crash while rendering?

Me: Definitely not-

Things I love (?) about working on videos: going after extensive search over the net on a site that uses alphabet system you can’t read just so you can get a high quality version of a CD where the music you want to use is, but the CD is literally a one giant soundfile (that is about one hour and 20 minutes long) so you have to manually find the track you need.

I am not making any of this up, by the way.
