Honestly, I really want to bring up the issue of Laito Yui's obsession. Why can't he admit it, and why can't he notice it? After all, even in Le Kino he said about his obsession with Yui, but she didn’t believe it

One of the reasons is obviously Cordelia. We all know how badly she messed up Laito and his sense of "love" and no matter how much in love with, Laito finds it very hard to accept it. doubting, how it is so different and "sane" than what he was taught. even in DF, he puts up a mask and pushes Yui away, trying to make her hate him by giving various reasons. even Carla was not able to predict perfectly what Laito was thinking, that's how well Laito hides it.

this is why I say, Laito's trauma is really very serious, especially when there was no one to help him as they are vampires and don't have human emotions. he is afraid of taking off his mask and facing the reality. he was truly devastated when he found Karlheinz's journal in DF and saw how everything was planned. and as because of Yui, he can feel emotions now, he broke down. like how was his sufferings planned when he suffered day and night through it???

and as for Yui, see from her point of view it'll really be hard to believe someone is obsessed with you when there are no obvious signs. like we as readers/viewers can see his behaviour with Yui because we can also read their personal monologue, not Yui. so it's totally understandable how it's hard for her accept when Laito always puts on a mask and his behaviour changes everytime.

Laito's trauma is so deep, it can't be healed immediately after Yui entered his life. that's why it took until CL for him to show a very big improvement. It's hard for him to accept such a "pure" and "genuine" love when he was taught something else for centuries. it's like he is fighting with himself internally and understanding what's right and what's wrong. This is why in MB Laito finds it hard to understand and accept Yui's love because it is "different" and this is also the reason why he tries to test her limits because he doesn't understand what love she is talking about.

I don't know if this answer satisfies you, like don't mind sending another ask if you have more doubts as I haven't read Laito's route(s) in long, so I can't give very deep details though I'll get back to it by getting a glimpse of his LE & other routes.

(ok I think I finally cracked the code for dl's lineart colouring!!! i was missing a bit of vibrant natural colour change when the local colour gets lighter... and it was so simple. just gotta turn the lineart layer to hard light blending mode. I had it on normal or multiply and I always felt it was too dark, but yeahhhhhhh just thought i would share my discovery!)

I'm curious, what's your opinion on Yui? She seems to get a lot of hate, many fans claim she's weak or too submissive. I personally like Yui and think she's a nice change of pace from the typical tomboy badass.

Yui is a delightful protagonist, and the vast majority of hate about her character is either misguided, inaccurate, or just plain yikes.

I've had a few discussions on other sites (mainly Wattpad) with people who violently dislike Yui, and every one of their arguments turns into victim-blaming within a couple of exchanges. As in, outright giving reasons why she "deserves" to be raped and abused. Most of the more aggressive haters are also anime-only fans with no idea what DL canon fully entails, or how bad Yui's situation gets. >.>

Personally, I like her well enough. She's a fitting protagonist for the series, her personality is endearing, and her response to the nightmare of a situation she's in is usually well-written. She's far from a self-insert for me, but I enjoy what she brings to the story!

I actually will be doing the kids personalities and possible short stories for all the DL boys x Yui soon, well if that’s what you all would like to read now with Subaru..his kids could possibly have golden eyes since Karl Heinz has golden eyes but the hair color with either be white or platinum, we have no idea what Yui’s parents look like so the genetic play is very limited, I think their kids would have very light colored hair regardless. Their personalities would be very similar to their mothers more likely, however they both do have extreme rage issues/anger issues but only to things that trigger them, they also are very quiet and like to keep to themselves, very sweet kids when unprovoked.

( Before my father’s departure, I used to read a good amount of magazines, and as far as I recall, that style was mentioned in some. )

Eh? You really think so? Ah, but I can’t be so sure of that. I mean, the outfits look undoubtedly cute and feminine, with their pretty bows and ribbons, however… all those frills and laces are maybe a bit too much for me.

( They really seemed good-natured when coming up with that suggestion though… I really don’t want to disappoint them with my answer. )
