Rin lost her hair bun, but replacements are so hard to find nowadays.

I tried my best with the parts I had available to me, but it’s not quite the same, is it?

Laid Back Camp Movie (2022)
Any return to Laid Back Camp is an absolute delight. Newcomers to the anime could watch this film and also have a lovely time, you'll just be slightly more invested in the characters if you already know them from the show.
They introduced a higher stakes project than I expected to be the focus of the film (they could have just made a feature length episode of the show and I would have been completely happy). Something that I also appreciated was how the realities of adult responsibilities and work was allowed to make a mark on things. Though of course there is little deviation from the lovely, comfy tone of the show.
Definitely watch this film if you enjoy the show and I highly recommend Laid Back Camp in any form to people looking for something charming, chilled out and comfy.

Yumiri Hanamori | Thursday, 09.29.2022
If there's one cute anime role that I like about Yumiri Hanamori on her birthday today is Nadeshiko Kagamihara from Laid-Back Camp, a comical camping anime now streaming on Crunchyroll!

Just finished watching the Yuru Camp movie.
There's barely any conflict, and what conflict is there is easily overcome. About 75% of it is just the characters hanging out and having a fun time together. It's a bold cinematic choice, and the only one they could've made if they wanted to truly make it a Yuru Camp movie. Loved it.

I just finished the Yuru Camp movie! And let me tell you, my body was NOT ready for the movie to begin with a time skip.
I’ve rambled before about how slice of life stories often depict characters falling into a comfortable routine over the course of the series, then when outside circumstances forcibly change (or maybe even end) that routine... THAT’S the moment that a seemingly simple story grabs your heart and squeezes.
Considering Yuru Camp is a high school anime, I was anticipating that the aforementioned outside circumstances would be the girls graduating. But no! My heart wasn’t even given the chance to prepare itself to witness the end of that era of their lives. The story instead takes an unexpected leap forward into their adult lives. I legit had a hard time believing it at first. I was thinking that the scene of Rin going to work would be some sort of bit. Like we would see a flash-forward in her life as the setup to a joke.
But it wasn’t a joke. The world of the movie really is several years ahead of when we last saw the girls in season 2. And I gotta say, the exposition into this familiar but different world is executed in a super clever way. Because the audience wants to know what’s changed, and guess what? It’s been a hot minute since these girls have seen each other so they are ALSO dying to know what everyone has been up to! As they catch up with each other, so too does the audience get familiar with the new status quo.
I find it fascinating that the Yuru Camp series (to date) covers like 10+ years of the lives of the main characters. That’s not something I (personally) see much of, and I’m very curious what point in their lives season 3 will pick up from.
