I knew Xu Bin from Stay With Me looked vaguely familiar! Turns out he was on Youth With You 3. He got eliminated in the first round of eliminations ranking 92nd out of 118 trainees which means he didn't get much screentime. No wonder I don't have much of an impression of him, good or bad. 😅

I feel like China or at lest chinese media is much more accepting of gender expression variance? If that makes sense. I was just watching the intro songs for all the produce shows and China was the only one to have girls that didn’t fit the standard. like they let them have short hair have a much more boyish appearance and let them were shorts instead of skirts… and then in ywy3 the guys had a lot more variance in how they looked as well. none of them were especially feminine but lot of them had very long hair, there was a bald guy, and someone with facial hair (the bar is in hell I’m aware) but yeah you just would not see these types of contestants in Japan or Korea at all. ….
