also i'm not sugarcoating this lol. i'm mostly into ck and hsmtmts but i'm gonna do all four because they're all in my bio

hsmtmts: i guess i don't have any qualms or unpopular opinions, the fandom is relatively unproblematic from what i've seen. the whole portwell vs rina ship stuff if stupid, ship and let ship yk. besides we all know the portbowell thruple is the way to go lol. also this isn’t unpopular but they should bring back seb and stop acting like he’s stupid all the time

cobra kai: also, relatively small and unproblematic, as horned up as they may be at any given time lol. i will say that i'm not a fan of the "zacchio" ship (the ship of the real life actors billy zabka and ralph macchio). i like their bromance and the whole joke that they can’t stop touching knees (because it’s true kasdj--) but i think it’s kinda weird to ship real people with thoughts and feelings and families and stuff. it’s one thing if they’re dead or like super problematic (tr*mp x shrek crackfic supremacy...even though shrek can do better lmao). but i was in the dan and phil fandom (i watched cringe things on yt it’s whatever) and that one video dan made for his coming out where he said he got actual ptsd from fans making graphic ship content and harassing him...it makes rpf kinda gross to me. i’m sure (most) fans don’t harass them about it so at least there’s that, but still :/

stranger things: i’ve kinda dipped my toe in the fandom, but all i have to say on it is that it’s obviously very big and mainstream and overwhelming. also in that people are too “anti” this and “pro” that. i, as a person, am not really “pro” or “anti” anything, i’m just vibing. i have my opinions but i’m not gonna be rude to people about them unless they come at me. i dunno, i just kinda poke at the st fandom with a ten-inch pole lol

sanders sides: *sigh*...i guess anything in the “ts crit” is relatively unpopular, there’s only like 4 blogs i’ve seen that even have ts crit, including mine. the fandom clearly has a purity culture issue as well as an issue idolizing thomas. any fan content that attempts to link canon culture turns out worse because i think it’s better to just take the characters and do your own thing with them. i wish the fandom would have a clear indication on what the rating is, because it feels like you shouldn’t post anything not T for Teen at most, but on the other hand, there’s people posting tentacle porn (so much tentacle porn...). i dunno, the whole thing is messy. but i’m not leaving bc nostalgia and i wanna see where the mess goes
