Blizzard's long-running insistence on the Horde not being capable of trusting humans gets kind of undercut by the fact that a decent chunk of their membership is just humans but dead. The trust level there has been generally iffy, and the Forsaken don't trust living humans either, but still.
Then there's the pirates...

Mists of Pandaria literally took a dwarf character, previously rightfully depicted as a scumbag villain because he wiped out an entire tribe of tauren whilst citing imperialism and racial superiority, and depicted him as a good guy out to protect the pandaren whilst vilifying the tauren for resisting him!
Not to mention that they retconned nearly the entire orc race as evil in that expansion with countless promising orc characters previously depicted as honorable and likable like Zaela, the entire Kor'kron organization, Bloodhilt, ETC becoming Garrosh clones simply because they were orcs and "orcs are inherently bad".
Or that the tie in novels for Mists of Pandaria like Tides of War literally had Baine freaking out and exiling tauren for resisting human and dwarf colonization of their lands.
Vol'jin, one of the only Poc coded monsters to be depicted in a decnet light in MOP, was literally described by the Alliance player as "Disgusting", "savage", and other terms, with the game even adding flies around Vol'jin for this quest.
Before you say thats just the Alliance player's view, white characters never get this description like say human characters when you're playing Horde.
For reference, Shadowlands demonized Dambala, a revered and famous real world loa worshipped in Haiti and many other parts of the World.
The same expansion almost exclusively had PoC coded monsters in the Hell portions, like Zul'jin was in Hell for protecting his lands against colonists that are so proud of their genocide of trolls, their leaders name themselves after it(Trollbanes) the recent Sylvanas novel even clarified that the humans and High Elves knew that it was the Amani's land when they made their homes there from the stone obelisks decorated with troll holy symbols and writing.
It has also been confirmed in recent novels that the tauren gods are fake whilst the night elf gods are real...
And the tauren's oppressor whom had been frequently terrorizing the earth throughout World of Warcraft's history, Magni Bronzebeard, literally got the role of voice of Azeroth like the true Mighty Whitey he is.
Warcraft III for all its racial coding never had anything like this and Warcraft I and II did not have this much racial coding.
So the Doubling down on the racial coding and the "PoC Coded monsters are evil" stuff was done by the modern writers that go "look at how woke we are, two white women are gay an we retconned another white character to be trans, now lets kill some voodoo worshipping savages in the Jungle together!"
Anyhow, sorry I have strong feelings about this as someone whom isn't white myself.
This is sadly a very extensive list and I have no doubt is only part of the problem. I used to play WoW when I was 13 which was 13 years ago and I didn't speak English then so I didn't really know lore. I came back only recently and the few things I played were some BfA (Kul Tiras side), all of Dragonflight and some Legion and a bit of Shadowlands. I haven't touched the other things aside from the vague knowledge of what is going on. I have to keep an eye on these things as I play on because I didn't know most of it.
Hell they do stupid colonialist tropes even with white-coded races, like I am sure the Drust are supposed to be Celtic coded and yet they also have them portrayed as bad for not wanting the Kul Tirans on their land.
I feel like when they do something good for the non-white coded races, it is always played safe for the general playerbase of the cishet white dudes who want their racist stereotypes intact. They always seem to be pussyfooting around the issue without making any meaningful change. They want to make sure they won't offend their biggest racist consumer base and that is so sad. Blizzard has potent racism 10 years behind everyone else.
Also I am sorry you have to write so much, but thank you for sharing this and I hope more people are made aware of it. It's okay to always vent here for anything, and I will eventually catch up with playing the content.

memento mori (5)
I had so much fun writing this chapter, so I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! :) thanks to all people who left comments and kudos on my work so far, I am really glad someone is enjoying my work :) I am very excited to write where this is going with these two...
some Na'vi words I utilized in this chapter:
utral aymokriya - tree of voices "kehe! ftang nga!" - "no! stop that!" palulukan makto - rider of the Thanator (Neytiri) palulukan - Thanator atokirina - seeds of the tree of souls "aungia lolu, aungia ta Eywa" - "there has been a sign, there was a sign from Eywa"
(3000 words)
-----
Tiya recovered quickly, even better for Quaritch. she was to accompany his squad back into the forest. so they could聽learn.聽her ears were flattened down, as she tried to drown out the聽noise of their聽monstrous machine that they pushed her in. she thought this machine was too loud to safely navigate the skies of her home, an ikran was far safer and better for scouting. as well as in any other aspect. thinking about her ikran made her sad.聽
Zaela聽and her would join the assaults on the sky peoples machines, scouting from above, or shooting the flying machines out of the sky. her ikran must miss her, ever since Tiya hadn't returned that night after they had rescued the children. Tiya surely missed her, the freedom of flying through the sky, past the mountains. not being restrained, threatened or in pain.聽
the machine loudly conversed the skies of her home, and Tiya found herself shifting in her seat to gain a view to the outside. the wind blew in her face, the beads in her hair hit Quaritch in the face, when he grabbed her arm to pull the Na'vi back in her seat.
they were flying to the forest, to the place they had picked her up. the old battlefield.
"let me be absolutely clear, you try anything and we'll shoot you,"聽
the alien -聽Miles聽- told her, as she landed back in he uncomfortable seat, her back hitting the cold material harshly. the Na'vi looked at him, before slightly nodding at his threat. he wasn't聽all聽bad, but the others surrounding him were. the humans back in their weird housing, who had tied her to that awful thing. Tiya still had bad dreams from that incident. she wished to visit聽utral aymokriya, to see her older brother. to ask him for his support. Tsu'tey wouldn't have let this happen, no doubt in her mind.聽
the machine neared the forest ground, and she saw the plants flatten to the ground from the airstream, as the few animals fled, clearly disturbed by the sounds of the machine. the aliens lowered themselves to the ground with ropes, which Tiya was no stranger to. it was just a litte harder with restraints around her hands. this was the reason for her only utilising the rope for a short amount of time, before she let go of it and let herself fall to the forest ground, landing in a crouched position.聽
Tiya slowly rose back up, straightening herself out as she looked defiantly at the aliens.聽
"quite the show,"聽
she stared at Miles.
"It doesn't work with my hands like this," her answer came as a hiss, as she held her bound, blue wrists before him.
"then you have to聽learn," he said mockingly, causing the other aliens to laugh. Tiya stared at them, how they held their cold weapons against their oddly dressed bodies.聽
Quaritch watched her ears, how they flattened down, and the way her tail whipped. it wasn't his goal to anger her, but it was always so easy.聽
"you聽have to learn! you are聽aliens,聽I am Na'vi!"
Tiya snapped, taking a step toward him.聽
"I know, I know, I was just聽joking, sweetheart - here you go," when he pulled his knife, she stepped back again, but not before his alien hand grabbed her forearm and cut through the orange restraints.聽
she hissed quietly, rubbing her sore wrists. he was so聽odd, always trying to make her聽angry,聽yet, he聽wasn't聽so聽bad.聽
"come on now," he then commanded his other aliens, while keeping Tiya at the front with him. he didn't trust her enough, and knew she would test out some shit sooner or later while they were out here.聽
with every step he and his squad took, Tiya clenched her jaw firmer. they were so loud, even children moved quieter than they did. at this rate, the entire forest would soon know that they were here. maybe someone would come to safe her then. it bothered her so much, the way they stomped through the forest, breaking the delicate plants with the things at their feet, disturbing the wild life.聽
"for god's sake, can you stop?!" an annoyed alien barked from behind her, grabbing her tail.聽
"kehe! ftang nga!"聽she聽snapped,聽slapping his hand away from her tail as she聽whirled聽around.
"what's the matter with you two?" Quaritch huffed, pulling Tiya away from Wainfleet, who stared at the man like he had just insulted her entire bloodline.
"no touching!" she snarled at Lyle.聽
"then stop whipping your damn tail into my face!"聽
Tiya scoffed dismissively.
"he's right, boss, she keeps agitating us,"聽
Quaritch raised his eyebrows.聽
"how old are you? four? get it together! what can you expect from someone like her?"聽
he replied, before looking at Tiya.
"you - tell me why you're so on edge,"聽
her ears flicked in confusion.聽on edge.
"what?"
"why are you so nervous? your tail!"聽
he grabbed her roughly by her braid, pulling her closer. she whined, clawing at the hand that held her queue.聽
"you move loud - bad," Tiya hissed.聽
his grip loosened from her tail.
"that is why you're here, to teach!"
"you cannot learn," she hissed stubbornly, backing away when he reached for her braid again, only to bump against another alien who threw her back towards him.
"not like this, you move too loud with these things - you move like sky people, not like us,"
Tiya explained quickly, trying to avoid the pain of having his hands pulling at her queue again, as she 聽gestured at his feet, and curled her lips.聽
"then how do Na'vi move?"聽
"different,"
"you heard the woman, off with the shoes,"聽
he stepped out of the boots and pulled his pant leg up, so did his squad, uttering in dissatisfaction.聽
Tiya looked around, trying to find a way out. there had to be.聽
"come on now, let's walk,"
she hissed when he pushed her forward. the alien watched her, she knew. he would know if she tried to run, and he would shoot. he had done it once already.聽
Quaritch watched how she moved.聽gracefully聽and so different than they did. it was clear that she knew this forest. she was born here, raised here. that was how she walked.聽confident.聽
they led her to a place she knew. the old battlefield. the聽barracks, was how Jake called it. the place felt eerie. she didn't like it. never did. the only good thing was how Neytiri had defeated one of the demons here.聽
palulukan makto.聽
Tiya admired her, she wanted to be like her. she was her mentor, when Tsu'tey couldn't be. Tiya had been on the right path to become a warrior like Neytiri, until the aliens had taken her. they had brought her with their eldest son, to rescue their children. maybe one day, she would become Neteyams mate. though she was a little older than him. Tiya knew that Mo'at liked the idea, so did Neytiri, but she didn't.Tiya wanted to chose her own mate.聽
most importantly, she wanted to be聽free.聽
"again, colonel?" one alien asked.
"yes, take a good look at the place. I will care for our prisoner,"
they stopped where arrows stuck out of a sky people machine. Tiya saw the body in it, her tail moving nervously.聽
"do you know who this is?"聽
"a demon," she snarled.聽
the alien grabbed her braid roughly, causing her to whine.聽
"this is聽me"
he growled in her ear. Tiya stared widely at him, then at the wound she'd given him when they had first captured her.
"I am聽back聽for Jake Sully, you will help me fulfill the mission,"
"no, demon, I will聽kill聽you again,"
she hissed, struggling in his grip. how could he possibly be聽back? this was not Eywa's doing, so whose was it? the sky people's? it frightened her, how Neytiri had killed him and he had still come back.聽
"I like you, you have spirit,"聽
whenever she revealed her fangs, she reminded him of an animal. a cat, a tiger maybe, definitely something feline.聽
Tiya was an animal, like the woman who had killed him. Quaritch could not forget that, even when she had her peaceful moments.聽
a loud roar shook them, causing his hands on her queue to loosen as he stared at the animal that came crashing out of the woods. Tiya gasped, her mouth opened slightly and her ears moving nervously.聽
palulukan.聽
shouting erupted, their loud weapons were aimed at the animal, only making it even more angry. Tiya didn't think twice, she fled. the animal had come for the intruders, it was her chance. the best one she had gotten so far.聽
Miles cursed and hissed, reaching for his rifle. but the beast was fast, its skin impenetrable by his bullets. his squad was scattered, some in the old barrack, some before it. it was chaotic.
"retreat!" he yelled, realizing the rifles were not going to help them with the Thanator, as he sprinted into the forest, going the same direction Tiya had ran off in. the beast was unbelievably fast, he didn't know the territory, and they had nothing. he could hear the monster growling behind him, he heard how it trampled over the forest ground.聽
the Na'vi had ran off. their only way to Jake.聽
Tiya climbed a tree, hiding in the greenery surrounding her. she heard the聽palulukan聽attack the aliens. she heard them fight, and then how they retreated into the forest. spreading out like startled聽聽pa'li. her heart was racing beneath her blue skin, when she laid her hand on her chest, while the other one remained on the tree she had pressed herself against.聽
she shut her eyes, when she heard footsteps beneath her. Miles, the alien who had captured her! lost, like a聽child. helpless, because his alien weapons were of no use against a聽palulukan.聽Tiya knew he didn't know enough about the forest, about the animals to escape. the beast would get him. his spirit would just drift away, and his body refused by the people and the forest.
it filled her with less satisfaction than she had anticipated.
Tiya followed his movement, pinning her ears down. she did not want to see how he died, but she also didn't want to help him. this was the way, how Eywa restored the balance. from the corners of her eyes she saw a glowing seed slowly sink down, towards his direction. she was stiff, when another one landed on her forearm.聽
"atokirina,"聽
no, it couldn't be?聽
Eywa聽wanted聽her to go back. she had sent her a sign. the almighty mother聽always knew. she kept the balance of life.聽
now it was on Tiya to help him, even if she didn't want to. she heard the animal approach him, and saw his weapon pointed at it. if he was to shoot, he'd surely be eaten. the聽palulukan聽was angry, and hungry. most likely he had lost his territory in the night of the sky people's return, like many other animals.聽
Tiya jumped from branch to branch, her tail keeping her balanced until she jumped down besides him.聽
"run, alien!"聽
she yelled, pushing him roughly into the woods. Tiya felt the animal's movement behind her. he was close, too close. even with her bow she stood no chance against a palulukan. no one really did.聽
Quaritch briefly caught a glimpse of her slender body, before she pushed him into the woods, keeping one hand on his back, as they ran through the forest. he had been certain these would be his last moments, but he had planned to take the Thanator with him. now Tiya had a different plan for them.
"faster!"聽
she hissed, almost feeling the animals breath on her back, as it hunted them relentlessly.
"jump on the branch there!" Tiya yelled, when they approached the cliff above the river. a few low hanging branches were a good opportunity to climb on the tree, and from there on further up and move back into the forest above ground.
at least he wasn't entirely helpless in that aspect, his avatar body jumping on the branch without greater issue and climbing further up. the fabric of his pants tore when they got stuck on small, sharp pieces of the wood, his vest was little help, but he managed.聽
Tiya followed him, until they were high enough above the ground, watching as the聽palulukan聽clawed frustratedly at the large tree. Quaritch was impressed by how closely intertwined the tree branches were, it was like a second level above ground. sure it was, it was how Tiya had killed two of his men, by hiding up here. the Na'vi stared at him with her big, yellow eyes, her tail moving from left to right.聽
"I told you I could learn,"
"you climb like a baby, alien,"
Tiya answered harshly.聽
"is everyone okay?" he used his communication device, while Tiya looked around, her hands brushing over the wood of the tree, as she quietly thanked the great mother for getting out alive.聽
"the name is Miles, by the way," Quaritch said, leaning against the thick tree trunk, looking down at the holes on the sides of his cargo pants.聽
"I know.聽you climb like a baby, Miles. use your tail for balance,"聽
her hands reached for his tail, pulling it slightly.聽
"your clothes, they are odd, no good for climbing," Tiya judged, now brushing over her own loincloth. it might have been in need of washing, but it was still far more practical than whatever the aliens wore.聽
"'s that why you wear聽none?" he retorted mockingly, looking down at her traditional Na'vi clothing. what she wore around her chest couldn't even be considered聽clothing, more like a large necklace that she seemed to put a whole lot of trust in, to keep her covered up. However, he highly doubted that Na'vi saw their bodies the same way humans did, if so, they wouldn't walk around聽like this.
Tiya moved her tail in a dismissive manner, and jumped on a tree branch besides them.
"you're still my prisoner," he hissed, trying to grab her.
"your people are聽dead聽or聽wounded, you don't know this forest.聽I am not a prisoner,"聽
she hissed back at him.聽
"get back -"
when he reached for her, she lunged forwards to jump at him, aiming to throw the unthankful alien down the tree.聽
"go away!"
Tiya snarled, as one last warning. his name sounded different with her accent.聽quite beautiful,聽given no one ever called him that.
"don't make me shoot you again," Quaritch said, reaching for his remaining weapon.
but to his surprise her eyes had left his, staring up, somewhere in the air. like she was in trance or something. with her mouth slightly agape and her ears pinned forwards, she stood still as a statue.聽
"atokirina,"聽Tiya whispered, watching the seed sink between them slowly.
"now what the hell is that?" Quaritch scoffed, reaching for whatever flying insect this was, earning quite an intense reaction from Tiya.聽
"kehe! atokirina!"聽
she grabbed his hand,聽leaving whatever聽thing聽that was to slowly land on her hand that held his. he saw her ears move聽slightly, her yellow eyes widened in awe. it must have been one of these odd Na'vi customs or something.
"aungia lolu, aungia ta Eywa,"
Tiya did聽not let go of his hand,聽until the thing flew away, as slowly as it had landed. Quaritch worried he might have contracted some illness from this, he still had no idea what this was all about.聽
"speak English," he huffed at her, and to his surprise, she moved back towards him. her entire body language suddenly a lot less hostile than before.聽
"Colonel?" Quaritch recognized Lyle speaking in his headset.聽
"status, Lyle,"聽
"three injured, two severely, no casualties as far as I can see, but we are - hopelessly lost,"聽
he sighed, and Tiya saw his distress from the way his tail moved.聽
"I have the prisoner at least, stay together and move to an open spot, try to climb the trees,"聽
his command came, as Tiya glanced back up in the sky, remaining besides him, even though she had the chance to flee. no, Eywa had sent a sign,聽twice.
"understood, boss. we have already聽sent an SOS to the base, but I am not sure it went through," Lyle explained.聽
"I聽wouldn't get my hopes up to get out of here before nightfall, do you have any聽equipment at all?"聽
"negative, boss, and that thing - could very well return," 聽
Quaritch looked at Tiya. surely she knew her way around and could have an idea to find the others. the least she could do was聽teach聽him.
"stay safe, climb the trees if necessary, I will work something out,"聽
"understood, boss,"聽
his ears were pinned down, Tiya could tell he was upset. she would, too, if her people were lost in a place they didn't know. even though she hated the aliens, she felt bad. even Eywa had pity with them. him, at least.
"where is everyone?" she asked carefully, looking curiously at him. her now so gentle voice was a nice contrast to their fighting that had been going on for the entire trip. he had barely processed that the Na'vi had actually聽saved his life. technically, she had paid her debt.聽
"I don't know, some are injured badly. they will need medical attention,"聽
Tiya recognized the firmness in his voice, like an Olo'eyktan speaking about his warriors. she tilted her head to the side, hesitating to answer.聽
"I can fly, look for them and bring you there,"聽
she suggested hesitantly.聽
he met her gaze, for once they didn't fight. in the forest she looked a lot more like she聽belonged.聽her blue skin not as pale, and her ears moving attentively. it was where she belonged, was it where聽he聽belonged? Tiya was not bad, she was not like other Na'vi. she had rescued him, when she could have just ran off. now she stood here, too. offering to help him聽find his people, after all they had done to her.聽
"fly?"聽
"my ikran,聽Zaela,"聽
right. the banshees. that was actually not a bad idea.
"why are you helping me? you threatened to kill me barely an hour ago, confused little thing, aren't you?"聽
his hand wrapped around her neck. not firm, but uncomfortable enough. Tiya didn't even flinch, her eyes remained on his face. there was no fear, not even hatred.聽
"Eywa聽wants me to teach you,"聽

I kinda want a list lol. I love seeing what kind of pairings people come up with, my favorites right now are Jaina/Rexxar (who doesn't love massive height differences) and Jaina/Dal'rend (I could see it going from trying to get under Thralls skin to "oh no I have real feelings for her")
you asked for it, so fair warning, it's not Exactly NSFW but I wouldn't exactly call it Good and Wholesome either wheezes
in no particular order, here is the full list (or at least what I can remember) of my preferred warcraft ships that are considered crack, either naturally or made so by time and retcons:
thrall/jaina/garrosh: I have nothing to say for myself. I will not defend myself nor will I apologize for anything. anyway jaina and garrosh being super into thrall but being petty rivals for his affection is extremely fucking funny to me. some points explaining the appeal:
playing legend of zelda and shipping link/zelda/ganon shaped my undeveloped child brain into having a predisposition for triads of good boy/bastard man/bastard girl. yes zelda and jaina are bastard girls do not question me on this
all of them have very Stealable Genders, especially when placed next to each other
thrall and jaina are besties, thrall and garrosh are besties, and jaina and garrosh very very slowly go from barely tolerating each other (mostly for thrall's sake) to realizing that they're kind of both in the same boat in terms of "someone has to watch out for this fucking idiot" (read: thrall) and also in terms of Being The Black Sheep Of The Family, getting shit for Doing Things Too Differently, and going largely unlistened to and unappreciated, even if it's within their field of expertise, so then they begin to grudgingly respect each other and catch feelings that way whoopsie doodle
thrall gives them both support, and hope for the world and what it Could be, and they've basically reached a point of "if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself"
thrall, meanwhile, enjoys whatever attention they'll give him, and uh. probably enjoys them fighting over him wayyy more than he should lmao
thrall/neeru fireblade: I don't know how I landed at the belief "thrall kept neeru fireblade in line by pretending to be a fucking idiot so he'd underestimate him and didn't realize how 99% of orgrimmar and tbh the horde as whole are violently attracted to him, neeru included, so now neeru thinks he's a himbo and thrall doesn't realize he's batting his fucking eyelashes at him but he is and neeru Would Very Much Like To Smash" but here we are
this is entirely onesided on neeru's part and entirely lust-and-pride-based and I do not know why I find it so goddamn fascinating but here we are
thrall/rend blackhand: see above. same basic principle of, "thrall doesn't realize he's attractive to the point of making people fucking insane, rend has never known basic kindness bc the blackrock clan is just Like That and thrall being nice to him one (1) time is enough to make him obsess over the man"
to be fair this is set entirely within the realm of my fel orc AU so they're actually kept the same basic age group, and they've actually like, met, and befriended each other lmao
aggra/zaela: at some point brain went from "I think they actually deserve a chance to be individuals," to "yeah, that, but now Together," because like. idk they deserve to be fiercely independent and to have their accomplishments not be overshadowed by their partners and Aggra Should've Been The World Shaman, Not Thrall, and Zaela Wouldn't Have Stayed With Garrosh during the first siege of orgrimmar if she was the same fucking zaela that overthrew her corrupt chieftain back in the twilight highlands BUT WHAT THE FUCK DO I KNOW, I'VE ONLY BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME FOR FIFTEEN FUCKING YEARS,
ner'zhul/arthas: you know there's only so many times you can say "arthas is ner'zhul's sugar baby and ner'zhul picked him as his champion bc he's a dumb jock fuckboy horse girl and ner'zhul was very very lonely" before it stops being a joke
sylvanas/lana'thel: at first it was strictly in the context of DK AU but now I'm like "okay but what if Lana'thel DID bring the san'layn into the embrace of the horde though" so that's just where I am now, apparently
sylvanas/calia: "haha what if sylvanas just Married calia for lordaeron's throne, that'd fix the problem so fast" was a joke, too, once
sylvanas/nathanos/cromush: something something "all the queen's men." anyway I just want sylvanas to actually have people that give a shit about her and actually see her for who she is, and Cromush remaining in Lordaeron during the legion invasion event and also being on sylvanas' fucking boat during BFA made me have too many thoughts
sylvanas/zul'jin: this is. also within the context of my fel orc au. they're still enemies and sylvanas grudgingly and furiously throws herself at his mercy in order to save silvermoon from arthas and zul'jin thinks an elf asking him for help is about the funniest fucking thing. no they're not romantic yes they can't stand each other. I am here for them making each other insane and being forced to work together shipping is not inherently romantic do not @ me
azshara/anasterian sunstrider: fel orc au but also she's taller than him and also her naga "true form" is kaiju-sized also despite her being in "disguise" anasterian knows who she is at all times and also she wants to make him her sugar baby no I will not explain this yes kael'thas is extremely distressed yes they have a horrible brood of aquatic eldritch horror children
sylvanas/varian: licherally had more chemistry in the entire 30 seconds they looked at each other in the stupid legion announcement cinematic than any other straight pairing WoW has done on purpose ever
anduin/med'an: listen,
tyrande/vol'jin: I read exactly one (1) ficlet of it and have been fascinated by it ever since. consider this:
wombo-combo military and [non-Light-based] religious leaders with a taste for hunting and stalking
they should have a hunter's rivalry. they should have a hunter's rivalry and it should maybe end with them hunting each other. and by hunting I mean one somehow ending up pinning the other on the forest floor, bruised and breathless,
do not @ me
sylvanas/vol'jin: see above
garrosh/varian: I Shipped This As A Joke Once And Then It Wasn't A Joke And Time Made A Fool Of Me
nazgrim/taylor: see above and also taylor should've been a horseman. give them the thassarian/koltira treatment.
gul'dan/khadgar: Rivalry is a form of Orcish Courtship No I Will Not Budge On This
jaina/literally anyone & everyone in the horde: I find it extremely fucking funny that most of jaina's potential beaus in fandom spaces are horde-aligned and I Agree With The Notion Wholeheartedly, You Are Not Immune To Jaina Proudmoore
jaina also has the power of "makes people insane just by Existing near them and Being Nice" but it's only super effective on horde and actually you know what
thrall/literally anyone & everyone in the horde: See Above
talanji/anduin: can't a bitch have thraina 2 electric boogaloo in peace and can't a bitch also have somebody taller than anduin who will Put His Stupid Holier-Than-Thou Ass In His Place
arguably if varian was alive for this and anduin proposed a "but if I married talanji we could have lasting peace between the horde and alliance" it could turn into an ariel littlemermaid "BUT DADDY I LOVE HER," real fucking quick lmao
illidan/maiev: yes they hate each other yes they want to kill each other yes the lust for violence eventually turns to genuine lust I am here to watch the trainwreck of toxicity and mutually assured destruction no I will not apologize or deny this
this is also the appeal of varrosh tbfh
hilariously the best characterizations I've seen of illidan are typically in illidan/maiev fics bc like. his flaws and failures are actually addressed which is more than what can be said of WoW itself lmao
darion mograine/any (& every) DK: I just want him to be bullied. I just want them to bully him. it's what he wants, and it's what they want. they're fine. it's fine.
dia darkwhisper/gurtogg bloodboil/blademaster jubei'thos: it's the triad. it's the triad again. don't look at me.
dia accidentally cementing herself in my fucking head as a cassandra and/or "truth comes out of her well to shame mankind" type personality did not help this at all
and, lastly, apparently:
thrall/jaina. because time has made me booboo the fucking fool, and I am now old enough to see fandom youngins saying that it's Weird And Creepy To Ship Them Because Thrall is married and it's like. what are you, protestant

In my stories Sorrel and Zaela were found by Orgus and an NPC Miraluka Knight (who鈥檚 name I forgot). The Miraluka taught Sorrel how to see since he had an injury that required bandages over his eyes, and that helped since he didn鈥檛 really like showing his Chiss-y eyes around others in the Republic at first.聽 ...Zalea was FULLY open about who he was though! :鈥橠聽 Orgus meant a lot to Sorrel though and he saw him as a father figure frankly.聽

I wonder if there's going to be a sudden increase of Dragonmaws with the new expansion and the side quest that was recently datamined. I've always like the clan and their lore, even though it's pretty fucked up especially Zaela in the book, but was happy to see that one of the npcs is actually remorseful about what he did.
Hopefully others will try to rp in that mindset instead of Old/Dark Horde one.

Zaela Gender: Female Background: Zaela is a Valkirtani/Tannin Hybrid who was born to a small Tannin village that accepted and protected Valkirtani's but then somebody from her village betrayed them and they were raided by a larger kingdom, the village was ransacked and pillaged, friends and neighbors were killed, and Zaela and other Hybrids were taken for enslavement. Zaela got relatively lucky being forced into he position of a servant girl for a wealthy family, it is demeaning work but at least it's not backbreaking or dangerous labor. She has learned to be quick witted and cunning using her position to help save other slaves, obtain information from the family she serves and the families they interact with, and sneaks away to sell this information to rebel groups in exchange for lessons on Valkirtani Magic. She is plotting to start a massive slave revolution and destroy the kingdom from within. Personality: While Zaela is a Hybrid she feels more strongly connected to her Valkirtani heritage through their common experience of suffering at the hands of Tannin who hate them for an outdated grudge and wants to be accepted among a Valkirtani community after taking her freedom. She is quick witted, cunning, and calculated as a good spy should be. While she conceals under a mask of being meek, well mannered, and stoic, her compassion has motivated a tranquil fury in her giving her focus and patience before she lets it become wrath. Strengths: Leadership, Stealth, Magical Knowledge Weaknesses: Resentment, Distrustful, Vengeful Powers: Sound, Valkirtani Magic Stats Elemental Energy: 5/10 Zaela has about average energy Elemental Control: 7/10 While not traditionally trained she has found subtle ways to use her powers over sound hidden in plain view of her oppressors. She can make herself silent or to listen into conversations not meant for her ears Intelligence: 8/10 While not given a traditional education she is very perceptive, and has been receiving secret lessons from the rebel Valkirtani whenever she is able to meet up with them to exchange information. Combat Ability: 4/10 She has not been trained to fight and does not have a lot of time or privacy to practice but she can be crafty and use unorthodox fighting methods Potential to Grow: Zaela is meant to be a rival and counterpart to Pinto. Zaela starts off more advanced in knowledge of Valkirtani Magic having recieved proper training from actual Valkirtani but her elemental abilities are a little bit more limited than Pinto's and while she has not received training like Zaela she has benefited by experimenting and coming up with her own methods. The two of them could both learn from one another.聽

Hey what is Garrosh's love language
acts of service 100%. for garrosh, to love is to serve, as he serves the horde. therefore, as leader and warchief of that horde, he expects to be respected, obeyed, and served in kind. anyone who is willing to go the extra step for him is someone Hellscream's eyes will be upon. and if the acts themselves are particularly useful, he knows that person is trustworthy (see: the player ("you are an honorable [race]... no one could ever deny your service to my people"), malkorok, zaela). most of all, to serve him is to defer to him, his judgment, and his authority. following through is paramount.
reflexively, he answers to no one so you know if he does something for you it's a BIG deal. also he does it to show he can, as a mark of prowess/strength/success etc. he's already accustomed to showing off as often as possible; if this can simultaneously work in currying favor with someone then it's a major win.
if i had to rank them:
acts of service (above)
quality time: enjoys his alone time, but if he expects you to be somewhere then you'd better be there. no distractions, no meandering. your time is committed to him, as he arrives in full presence and attention whenever he is called upon and expects the same.
words of affirmation: only viable when you mean it. orcs are not ones for flowery language and talk, so they despise sycophants, deception, and lies. your word is your honor, and any offered affirmations should reflect that and be true. additionally, one should honor the other's efforts with acknowledgment, as not doing so may be dismissive and disrespectful.
receiving gifts: again, really only viable when it's useful. garrosh doesn't care for "useless trinkets" (see: love is in the air event, "message to garadar" quest ending lantresor's part of the chain) but any gift that could also be received as an act of service is good. i also dont imagine garrosh to be the gift-giving type, save again for one representative as an act of service (e.g. an enemy's head as a trophy of its demise).
physical touch: garrosh has actively repelled any attempts to touch him and expects others to give him an extra wide berth. living the first half of one's life in quarantine will do that to you, i think. giving him space is the bare minimum and shows that you respect him and his authority. the only time anyone is in such close physical proximity to him is during battle; to overstep this physical boundary may as well be a declaration of war. others have said this may be why battle is one of the only ways garrosh could ever really fall in love with anyone (so long as he isn't completely aro/aroace!). to touch him, and be able to be touched by him, would be a very rare event indeed.
thank you for the nice question!

Possible dumb idea but I love it anyway: dragonmaw redemption story through dragonriding
I know as a dragon fan I should automatically dislike the dragonmaw clan, but I thought Zaela was cool, so I'm on board with this.
