I re-read tda and now am very sure that Cortana has absorbed the powers of the Black Volume and the Mortal Sword

Annabel swung again, and Emma raised Cortana, cutting on the upstroke, pushing closer, slamming her sword against Annabel's with all the force in her body, bringing the blades together with a massive, echoing clang. And the Mortal Sword shattered. It cracked jaggedly along the blade, the top half shearing away. Annabel shrieked and stumbled backward, and black fluid spilled from the broken sword like sap from a felled tree. Emma collapsed to her knees. It was as if the hand that held Cortana had been struck by lightening. Her wrist was humming and a ringing sound all the way up her bones, making her body shake. She grabbed for Cortana's hilt with her right hand, panicking, desperate not to drop it. -Lord of Shadows

Zara was fighting like a wild thing. Emma had remembered Zara as a mediocre warrior, and she was, but from the moment their two blades had touched, Zara had been electrified. She swung her blade as of she meant to hack down a tree with it; she flung herself at Emma over and over, sloppily leaving her defenses completely open. As if she didn't care if she lived or if she died. -Queen of Air and Darkness

How else can you justify Zara's behavior? Nobody else that Emma fought later behaves that way; but at the same time Zara is the only shadowhunter to face the wrath of Cortana. This makes sense in the context that the Mortal Sword works only on Nephilim.

Emma was also able to slay Fal -a Rider of Manan- with Cortana. At that point it had already consumed the powers of the Black Volume.

A list of things I would kill to see in TWP

- Clace kids/Sizzy kids/Malec kids growing up

- Clary and Julian bonding over art and Emma and Jace bonding over weapons

- A reverse of the Lady midnight knife scene between Kit and Ty

- The Kit, Ty, Livvy trio back together again

- Angst free Blackstairs extremely in love to the point where other Blackthorn kids are lightheartedly cringing at them (but really are very happy for them)

- Tessa reading Mina the beautiful Cordelia and telling her more about James and Lucie

- Mina and Kit having sibling momments. Maybe watching Disney movies, with Jem and Tessa around too ofc

- Jem playing Tessa songs he composes for her

- Kit making fun of Jem and his lack of pop culture knowledge

- Kit being a Taylor Swift stan

- Emma and Jem spending time together and Jem telling her about Cordelia, Alastair and other Carstairs

- Tavvy, Rafe, Max and Mina forming their own little friend group

- Alec and Diego reforming the clave as Consul and Inquisitor

- Zara and Manuel dying or getting their marks stripped
