I visited the exhibition about Adriaen van de Venne at het Zeeuws Museum in Middelburg. The paintings were really lovely and Adriaen added lots of fun details. There were also etchings since he had his own book printing shop. This man did a lot and he isn't as famous as Rembrandt. Some of his work has been lost.

Krulbollen

Krulbollen ist ein alter flämischer Volkssport. Er wird in Zeeuws-Vlandern, vor allem in der Gegend um Gent, in Meetjesland und in der Region Knesselare bis Brügge gespielt. In Frankreich gibt es eine Variante in der Region Anjou und nennt sich dort Boule de Fort. Im Englischen nennt sich das Rolle Bolle oder auch Belgian Bowling. Der englische Wiki-Artikel.

Oh yeah I have a new song out (sort of)

Ridgewood Sun tells the story of two strangers who, amidst the hustle of a busy town, stop to live for a bit. The impact we have on one another, even in those small moments with someone we'll never lay eyes on again, is something truly so special.

I was inspired to write this song after watching a video of Al Stewart and Dave Nachmanoff performing Modern Times, and it became the first song I ever formally released. Last year, I got the chance to perform it with Dave, which was my first time singing an original song for a live, in-person audience. I felt that it was only right to revisit it with Dave as the producer :)

One of the museums in the Netherlands which I want to love but I don't enjoy that much, is het Zeeuws Museum. It's one of the only art and history museum in Zeeland. They do have a gorgeous selection of archeological finds on display but I really get frustrated by the way it's displayed.

My favourite part are the huge wall tapestries and they are magnificent. They are definitely worth a visit. The rest of the museum is quite small and they don't update it that often. I started to notice it visiting after many years and most things looked the same. The museum seem to focus on their modern textile art installations which are usually not my thing.
