Okay so I finally done I watched all the body swap episodes. My favorite trope in all media so im an expert so this is the true ranking of them anyone else opinon is WRONG. (Also sorry so bad at words)

King-Ohger Episode 28. Shuffle kings

this THIS RIGHT HERE is a MASTER PIECE OF BODY SWAP EPISODES full team no voice swaps and FULL of chaos. I love everything about it. I love that Gira Jeremy Hymeno and Kaguragi learned a lesson and Yanma and Rita just want to kill eachother. 100/10 episode ART in its purist form.

2. GOGO V Episode 37. The Beauty is a Saima Beast!?

I'm honestly very surprised that I loved this episode as much as I do like I don't even remember it from watching Gogo I remember the season being very serious but honestly forgot how funny it could be. I love that this monster didnt even plan to do body swap and him going on the marriage interveiw and acting all weird but the fact he did that in Tsugumi body and the parents didnt react make me think shes just like that normally. Tsugumi is such a girl boss as well true QUEEN. 10/10 episode

3. Magiranger Episode 39. Inverse Brother and Sister and Episode 40. The Gorgon's Garden

Honestly though this was gonna be my number 1 when I started this episode was one my favorites when I watched Magiranger (despite forgoring its a 2 parter) though RIP to Houka 15 man harem. And Kai sick burning his sister. this some great mid 2000s sentai. though it being a 2 parter kinda un imporant it could been done in one so the episode be counted as 1 and together their a 10/10

4. Gokaiger Episode 27. An Unusual Gokai Change.

This another one I forgor but its a great episode and choosing Doc an Luca for it was perfect. some great sentai body swap shannies in it with doc running around from guys who think want to attack luka and being scared to hurt her body pure boi. 10/10 love Gokai so much

5. Go-Onger Episode 12. Sosuke Banki!?

I just love Go on its one my favorite seasons and this episode some the best of how wacky this season is. even with a voice swap I actually genially love this episode. and the fact the monster couldnt even spend 10 mintunes with the team because their just to insane that they couldnt even tell that Sosuke was switched. only one bad thing its set before miu so for no miu I have to give it - 100 points so its a -90/10

6. Abaranger Episode 27. AbaRed is AbareBlue

Another favorite season and this episode is not a low point honestly love that most of it just Yukito trying to be a dad and failing like dont let this man take care of kids again. like I think the only thing that bring this episode down is the voice swap again. 10/10 episode

7. Lupat Episode 16.Because You're A Friend

Another BANGER. Choosing Touma to be the body swap for this as AMAZING dont think the comedy could been better with anyone else. and the fact the Patoranger saw the monster in Touma body and basically though he some kind of play boy peek comedy. and the way they trick the monster to switch back really good. 10/10

8.Zenkaiger Episode 32. kai! Sakasama Gets Angry! Is That a Monkey?

I want to start with that the sub I watched the name the epiosde was freaky friday or is it monkey monday and like THAT WHAT IT SHOULD BE! this episode pretty alright I like Kaito running around Tojitendo Palace and completely failing at pretending to be stacy loud boy in quite boy body peek comedy. also love we get t see Flint do the Twokaizer dance even if its a body swap. 10/10 Episode

9. Dekaranger Episode 19. Fake Blue

Alright this where my real opinion shine. I LOVE Dekarangr its one my top 10 seasons BUT this episode where it was good... WAS SO BORING compared to what I was watching like I like the epiosde but for what I was making thi slist for its just not that good. 6/10

10. Toqger Episode. 21. The Runaway Bride

Another season I love but this episode so MEH. like honestly this did not have to have the boys body swap it just seemed really unessary and didnt really effect anything. The Gritta stuff was really sweet though I always felt bad for her in the show she deserved better. 5/10

11. Kyoryuger Episode 37. Revenge! The Ghost Deboth Army

Honestly this episode so boring I could barely pay attention like this one 100% did NOT need to be a body swap epiosode like did that even effect anything. 4/10

12. Fiveman Episode 36. Super Twin Strategy

I wont really reveiw this one like I did watch it and its alright but I've never seen Fiveman so I feel like maybe when I do eventually watch it i'll have an actual opinon ?/10

13. Kiramager Episode 19. Partner

I'll start with saying the Juru and Fire stuff this episode ADORABLE I love that... but I CAN NEVER purely enjoy this episode because MACH IN IT IS FUCKING DIGUSTING. like the fact whoever wrote this thogh that was comedy A SHAME makes sense the same guy who wrote episode 11 of Lupat the worse epiosde of ANY sentai I hate this episode it makes me so uncomfortable even thinkig about it. fuck mach. -1000000000000000000000000000/10

an now here at the end I'll talk about my FAVORITE swap episode and episode in general that I just couldnt rank with this since I dont 100% think it counts but I love it so we talking about it.

Shinkenger Episode 27, Switched Lives

I LOVE this episode its so funny and crazy. like taking the switch body trope but with furniture is so good. and the fact Genta turned into sushi and was almost eaten actually turned into an epiosde where he couldnt morph because he was to scared is so funny. and also Ryuunosuke the show punching bag of course gotta turn into little piss baby statue since thats what he is. this episode just great like honestly this one I feel like you can watch without even seeing the rest of shinkenger (Though why would you its the BEST SEASON) and the fact its a Chaiki and Kotaha episode just makes it even better. 10000000000000/10

Hi! I've been interested in tokusatsu shows for a while now, but I don't know which to start with, or how to watch them.

Could you help me?

GRINS SO WIDE summarized quick answer: where to start: my go-to answer is kamen rider ryuki, it's my absolute favorite and you can find it for free on tubi :-) tubi is a streaming service only available in the us, so if you don't live there you'd have to use a vpn to use it (that's what i do!) how to watch: tubi has a few other titles from kamen rider, sentai and ultraman, so feel free to look around if any others interest you! tsuburaya also has an official youtube channel with a bunch of content, icnluding the currently airing season with subs in multiple languages and an english dub! there's a lot of shows with no official international releases, for which you'd have to use.. other means

if interested, there's a longer (very long... sorry), more detailed answer under the cut!

as for where to start, it's completely up to you! :-) look around and if a show catches your interest, go for it! in kamen rider and super sentai at least, the shows are self-contained and separate from each other so you can jump in with any show you want at all!

some reccs of mine for the big three are as follow:

kamen rider: my personal favorite so far of the big three :-) the seasons can vary a lot in tone and setting, pretty much the only consistent thing is that there's a guy with a bike. oftentimes the guy looks like a bug. sometimes there's even more than one (!!) guy with a bike

for kamen rider, i recommend:

kamen rider ryuki: my absolute favorite tokusatsu show, and one of my favorite shows period!!! it's the 2002 installment of kamen rider. in this series, a silly journalist guy happens to discover a mysterious card deck while investigating for a story. with this, he accidentally becomes involved in a conflict between kamen riders. as the series advances, the reasons for this conflict become more clear out of the shows i've watched, this is one of the heavier ones in tone. however, it's also really funny. the show jumps from grim conflict to looney toones sitcom situations and then back again and its so awesome this was actually the show i began with, and it kickstarted my interest in tokusatsu!! i don't want to say much so as to not give anything away, but there's compelling, unforgettable characters that are so so dear to me, a pulling story with unfolding mysteries, and beautiful suit design!

some other shows i can mention are kamen rider fourze (show from 2011, generally much lighter in tone, very funny and sweet, space-themed kamen rider show about a delinquent-esque highschooler who wants to become friends with everyone) and kamen rider w (i think this one is commonly recommended to beginners! it's very fun, it's about a pair of young detectives who investigate mysteries and fight monsters. the main trio from this show are so dear to me). there's also a bunch of other shows i loved like ooo and kuuga (my second favorite!) but if i started listing them all out we'd be here all day...! if you wanted to start from the currently airing season, gotchard is on episode 16 right now. it's been cute so far!

super sentai: this is the series power ranger adaptations are made out of! there's a team of color-color coded heroes fighting villains and they have a giant robot etc etc

for super sentai, i started with kikai sentai zenkaiger! very cute and silly show, made me laugh out loud multiple times :-) a guy and his robot buddies hang out and have sooooo much fun

another recommendation would be tokumei sentai gobusters! probably one of the most solid tokus i've watched. it's a techy-themed season which is a plus for me :-) i heart computers. this one has a smaller core team than the usual sentai show, composed of three members. the characters are great and the antagonists are unforgettable!

i also loved toqger and i've had a lot of fun with gokaiger so far :-)

ultraman: ... i know far less about this one SORRY. there's a giant alien guy who fights giant monsters. lots of creatures in this one. peace and love on earth and also the entire universe...!!! like i said, i'm less knowledgeable about this one but from what i've seen the special effects tend to be breathtaking! miniature sets the world...

so far, the only ultraman show i've watched is ultraman orb, it was very nice! with around 20 episodes, it's shorter than the other shows i've recommended, which average 50 episodes

the currently airing ultraman show is ultraman blazar, which... i've unfortunately fallen back on a little! i have no idea if it's still airing or if it finished HELP. anyway i've loved it so far! there's a nice, slow-pace feel to it, gorgeous effects, and very memorable episodes! it's available worldwide on youtube for free, with an english dub and subtitles in multiple languages!! getting to watch it live is suchhh a nice experience there's also plenty of shows outside of those three franchises, but i'm not knowledgeable about them and i don't have reccs for those! i definitely want to venture out at some point.. i hope this helped! again, these are just some general reccs of shows i've liked! look around and see if any show catches your interest :-) if you have a certain tone, setting, etc etc in mind and want more specific recommendations i can also help with that!! thank you for letting me ramble about toku for a while ^__^

Reading Zox Goldtweaker and the Zenkai x Twokai Alliance in a Close Inspection of Episode 23: Three Great Combinations, the Biggest Battle on Earth!

I may have written an essay. It happens.

Prologue: The beginning

So as some of you may know, I am a Zox Goldtweaker stan. Look at him. A singing dancing fruity amoral pirate. It’s like they made this character for me specifically.

In fact, Zox was my entire reason for checking out Zenkaiger- well, Zox and because I was already watching Donbrothers and wanted to see what Kaito was like originally, but Zox was what pushed me to watch it ultimately, and boy, he did not disappoint. I was instantly enamored and from then on kind of had a tunnel vision that focused mostly on the Goldtweaker family, and that’s something I can admit.

Now, having a Zox-focused view meant that I spent most of the series seeing the events from his point of view, and naturally I have a lot of thoughts and opinions about him (as can be seen from the multiple fanfics I wrote that feature him).

I occasionally post my takes on twitter, and my friend, seeing a post I made about how gay episode 23 is (Three Great Combinations, the Biggest Battle on Earth!), spurred me on to write an essay on episode 23, so here I am. (Sorry, didn’t really go into the gay part this time, I’m afraid.)

Let’s talk about episode 23, then. Specifically Zox’s character in episode 23, how he displays his first true act of selflessness in the entire series, and how it’s the turning point of the relationship between the Zenkaigers and the Goldtweakers.

Part 0.5: Zox Goldtweaker

For those of you not completely obsessed with Zox Goldtweaker (though I’m not sure why you’d read this post if you weren’t), here are the few things I consider to be key to understanding his character:

His eldest sibling syndrome.

His pride.

His pursuit for freedom.

Zox’s theme FLAG ~Kaizoku no Bigaku~ actually does a pretty good job at condensing his character, so check that out sometime.

I’d break them down one by one, but then this would just become a Zox Goldtweaker analysis, so I’m only going to focus on the parts that are relevant to my topic today.

So let’s take a closer look at “Pride”, shall we?

Part 1: Zox Goldtweaker’s Pride

When I say “Zox’s pride”, there are actually quite a few aspects involved. There’s his pride as the head of the family, there’s his pride as a fighter, and there’s his pride as a pirate. A world pirate, to be exact. And what exactly does that ensue? (Again, seriously, check out Kaizoku no Bigaku)

If I may remind you of the verse of Kaizoku no Uta he sings during his debut back in episode 8 (Going Door to Door to Another World?!):

俺は��賊　お宝求めて　海から海へ

俺は界賊　自由求めて　世界から世界へ

必ず手に入れるぜ

そしたら　気分痛快　ヨホホイ！

I am a World Pirate. In pursuit of treasure, I go from sea to sea!

I am a pirate. In pursuit of freedom, I travel from world to world!

I'll get my hands on it no matter what!

And then I'll get a feeling that's two good! Yo-ho-hoy!

Zox makes it pretty clear before he even speaks a single line of dialogue. He’s a world pirate, he travels from sea to sea for treasure. He’s a world pirate, he travels from world to world as an act of freedom. And he will do what it takes to get to his goals. Simple.

That’s how he presents himself to strangers, as well as the audience, and note how he does this through a song and dance. Zenkaiger is not a musical (though I wish we had a musical episode), so the singing and dancing is not commonplace either. This entrance is how he establishes his image as a pirate: fun-loving, lawless, and unrestrainable.

And being a pirate, Zox certainly isn’t the shining golden hero like the Zenkaigers are (even if his suit is gold). He doesn’t care about the safety of regular civilians (episodes 10, 13, 22), he uses the Zenkaigers as his shields in battle (episode 19), he blackmails Stacey, a villain into helping the heroes (episode 16).

Zox is not heroic. He acts for his own goals without regard to others around him. In episode 10, he reveals that his entire motive is to reverse the curse put upon his little brothers, saying that unlike the Zenkaigers, who prioritizes civilians, his family is “not in a position to worry about what happens to other people.”

We see him, and the other Goldtweaker siblings demonstrate this again and again: the pirate family only helps fight the Tojitendo because they happen to be a common enemy. They don’t do heroic things unless they can get something out of it. They rarely even work with the Zenkaigers. In episode 12, Flint strategizes with the Zenkaigers only so she can save her brother. In episode 19, Flint helps make the Zenkaijuugear, but not without making another one for her brother too. In episode 21, Zox helps break Kaito out of jail so he could help take down their copies. (And I do have much more to say about the Copy World episode, but again, not the focus this time.)

Part 2: What about that one time he did something nice?

Prior to episode 23, the only times that we could say Zox (and the Goldtweaker family by extension) doing nice things without asking for repayment are in episodes 14 and 20.

In episode 14 (Duel! Zenkai vs. Twokai!), the Goldtweakers join forces with the Zenkaigers to trick Stacey, who offers to bring the Goldtweakers to Tojitendo Palace if they kill Zenkaiser. Instead of killing Zenkaiser for real, Zox pretends to kill Zenkaiser, to see if he could con Stacey into taking them anyway. However Stacey planned on killing Twokaiser as well all along, so the backstabbing turns out to be the right choice.

But anyway, the Goldtweakers teaming up with the Zenkaigers instead of Stacey, while it looks like a reflection of the pirate family growing closer to the Zenkaigers, it’s also just a more effortless way of doing things. If they can get to Tojitendo palace without needing to make the effort to kill Zenkaiser, why not? (Well there’s that and also that Zox is gay but we’ll leave that for later.) In the end, it’s still a quite self-serving move.

In episode 20 (Swordsman and World Pirate, a Brother's Promise.), Zox gives Shindai Ryouga’s wonder ride book back to him, as well as the kamen rider gears made by his sister to the Zenkaigers, both without expecting anything in return. These instances I must say, are pretty selfless of him. However, Zox kind of has to return Ryouga’s henshin gadget back to him, seeing as this isn’t his series, and he needs to go back to his own show, and we’re running out of the crossover episode runtime. So I would chalk that up as more of a “compelled by real life restrictions” situation. The other one, giving out kamen rider gears, while also a generous act, I can’t credit it to him as a character either. The kamen rider gears are purely for marketing purposes, and they never appear ever again. There are three of them (because those three riders are the three riders that appear in Super Hero Senki, the crossover movie that the Saber x Zenkaiger crossover episodes are hyping up for), so naturally to display all three at the same time, they would need to be given to the main team. This one I would call “compelled by marketing strategy”. Again, not a “true” act of selflessness.

Part 3: Episode 23, Three Great Combinations, the Biggest Battle on Earth!

Roughly a thousand words later we finally reach the main point of this essay. What is it about episode 23, then? What’s so special about episode 23? Episode 23 isn’t even about Zox! It’s about Kaito steeling himself to take on Stacey! Correct. Episode 23 is not about Zox at all. And that’s why it’s important to his character. Let me explain.

Despite being in an episodic format, where things mostly wrap up within one episode, episode 23 is a rare case of being directly continued from episode 22. In episode 22, Stacey shows up in his new robot, Battle Caesar Robo II, to challenge Zenkaiser into a duel. They fight, Stacey in his Battle Caesar Robo II, and Kaito in ZenkaijuuOh, which is a fusion between himself and Super Twokaiser. In episode 23, Kaito stops the fight, and promises to continue the following day. And what does any of this have to do with Zox? Nothing.

It’s literally nothing.

It’s none of his business! This is a personal duel between Kaito and Stacey, and beating Stacey isn’t going to bring him any closer to his goal of breaking his brothers’ curse. Zox doesn’t have anything to do with this. Yet he’s involved anyway, because he is half of ZenkaijuuOh. Front row seats to the drama of it all. Oh boy.

So Kaito and Stacey are going to duel again tomorrow, Flint patches up TwokaiOh so it’s in perfect condition, go have fun out there kicking robot ass brother dear, et cetera. Except Zox isn’t going. His logical side notices that Kaito’s duel is none of his business. His emotional side notices that Kaito is hesitant about fighting with Stacey, and it grinds on his gears (pun unintended).

Side note about ZenkaijuuOh, it’s implied that being in ZenkaijuuOh to some degree syncs the users’ emotional states, which makes sense because that’s generally how duo-pilot mechs are portrayed, but we’re putting that aside for now.

Anyway Zox is moping, and talking about how tomorrow’s fight is up to Kaito alone. And at this point his biggest complaint is that he thinks Kaito hasn’t made up his mind about taking Stacey down yet.

But Zox is also in love with Kaito so all of this is so hard for him. This is a man who’s likely never had friends before and he’s awkward about it. He’s mad at Kaito but he’s not really mad at Kaito because he’s more mad at Kaito’s actions, namely Kaito not being as enthusiastic as himself when it comes to beating the crap out of Stacey. Like I said, he’s just moping here. It’s not that serious. And he must’ve come to some sort of realization that night because he’s a changed man when we see him again.

We cut to the duel the next day, the Zenkaigers are fighting, all going the way it usually goes. Kaito and Stacey are fighting, Kaito talks about making up his mind to end the fight, and this is where Zox makes his entrance. You bet he was up in the clouds in his little space pirate ship and listening so closely to what’s happening underneath, just looking for an excuse to join the battle, and he gets his excuse here. So he merrily joins the fray, good for him.

Then the battle escalates, and Stacey gets out his shiny new robot. Kaito, naturally, needs to respond with his own, and I’d like to point out that though the last few episodes, the default robot has become ZenkaijuuOh, this is not the case in this episode.

Kaito first simply uses the giant version of Super Zenkaiser, and when that’s not enough, it’s also the other members of the Zenkaigers to back him up. He combines with Zyuran, which is pretty significant because Zyuran is his first recruit, and was the one to give him advice the night before the fight. It’s a nice moment.

Zox helps out when he turns into Super TwokaiOh to take down the spare Kudaitest, a supporting role. Then, when Super ZenkaiOh Zyuran couldn’t handle it, this is where Zox joins the main fight. If I may bring attention to the specific wording here, Zox says,

“Kaito! Ore wo tsukae!”

In a completely literal translation, this line means, “Kaito! Use me!” Notice the language here. Zox is offering himself, as a tool, or an add-on. Zox, the protagonist of life, is yielding control.

And wouldn’t you know it! This is exactly what he was talking about the night before! It is all up to Kaito. This is Kaito’s duel. Zox is here not as a co-protagonist, but as support.

This is demonstrated further later in the fight, where both Kaito and Stacey get close-up shots, but not Zox, even though he is an active participant in the fight, being half of ZenkaijuuOh.

Because this is Kaito’s duel, not Zox’s. Zox is not the point of this fight, nor this episode.

And even though he has no reason to be here, even though this is none of his business, even though he gets nothing from beating Stacey, Zox is here, as a strictly supporting role. And if that’s not selfless, I don’t know what is.

This is the real turning point of the Zenkai Twokai alliance. This is when they become true allies, instead of just “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Episode 23 is more than just the story of Kaito and Stacey settling the score. It’s also the story of Zox opening up to the Zenkaigers. Specifically Kaito, but you know, package deal.

Conclusion: So what?

Episode 23 has escaped my attention for so long, as a Zox fan. I’d easily brushed it off as “the one where Zox mopes” and left it as that, because it’s not a particularly fun Zenkaiger episode, and the focus is on Kaito and Stacey’s duel, instead of the Goldtweakers. And I regret not taking a closer look earlier.

I’m sure there are others like me out there, who watched episode 23, and only really saw the Kaito v.s Stacey fight, which is completely fair, because that was what the episode is mainly about. However, I’m taking this opportunity to shed light on the other more subtle story going on in the background. This is a very crucial episode for Zox, too.

So I sat down and typed nonstop for three hours in a burst of passion. In the middle I may have trailed off at some parts, but I think it really shows my enthusiasm for the topic, so I’m keeping them. (Also, I’m not a big fan of editing, shh.)

And if even one person stops to read through this entire essay, then that’s already a victory for me.

Rewatch Zenkaiger sometime, folks, and try to pay attention to something different this time. It might make your head explode.

FINALLY BACK IN SABER!!!

PrFor the past... two months?.... I’ve been taking a break from watching Saber. Mostly due to personal reasons but also because I hate it when a very dumb and small misunderstanding (especially when the cause is from a new outsider character that totally has evil intentions. looking at you Sabela +-+) ruins such good friendships and bonds. Anyway, I decided to get back into it ‘cause I was SUPER curious at what was going on AND and kinda had a feeling that the misunderstanding situation was about to end soon. and omgosh I’m so glad I took a break! If I had gone through with watching each ep every week, I would have gone crazy with stress! There’s so much going on!!! yet I’m also glad that Toei FINALLY calmed us down with the pacing! I’m gonna try to talk about everything regarding episode 16 up to 25 so please bare with me. I think I might end up talking about the Zi-o VS Decade and Zenkaiger stuff too after this post~

1. When I say that I hate it when a stupid misunderstanding causes friends to turn on each other, I mean it. I absolutely hate it when a story goes down this path. especially after an episode that basically sealed a strong bond between all the characters. But... honestly, after watching it in Saber.... it has a sort of beauty to it, if that makes any sense. Kind of like Mono No Aware. I honestly feel like this situation really fit well with the plot and we got to see our swordsmen struggle with their own logic and feelings. Especially Rintaro. Poor baby didn’t know what to do, and yet still believed in Touma. Omgosh that rooftop scene with him and Mei! <3 That was probably one of the best scenes this series ever produced! I also loved how we got to see Touma personally struggle about the whole situation instead of just being mad at his friends for attacking him and not trusting him. Which is what I originally thought would happen tbh which is why I was scared to watch this batch of episodes. I’m so glad I was wrong!!!

2. Yuri! I honestly believe that Yuri is such a great addition to the cast! He’s logical, curious, and yet has a good open mind about things. Instead of going with what he USED to know, he’s willing to listen and learn from Touma. Which I really like! Plus, the comic relief he adds is so awesome! Every episode so far I’m also looking forward to what Yuri will do just out of his own curiosity or blunt attitude.

3. speaking of attitude, I feel like Touma is showing more personality now than compared to the first few episodes. Which is a huge relief! He was starting off as a kind of boring main rider and seemed flat. He’s still got ways to go, but I think his personality is getting better. Plus, I’m really interested in his past. If Luna is really the one that got him into reading, then is he really from Wonderworld like we’re told? Just who is he really? Is his last name really Kamiyama? What happened to him after he lost his memories? Did he get adopted? There has to be a reason why Rekka and the wonder ridebooks keep chosing him. ugh! I’m so curious!!!!!

4. I can’t remember her name right now, so I’ll just call her Sabela. But omgosh I don’t know whether to hate her or pity her. I feel like she can work as an awesome villain, but just like other posts I’ve seen, it’d be such a shame if she ended up like Yaiba Yua. And, I honestly don’t want her to randomly become a hero like Amatsu Gai. Toei please just keep her as an awesome villain!

5. Rintaro and Mei! omgosh Toei BETTER get them a kiss scene or something because they’re TOTALLY falling in love and I wanna see a proper kiss scene!! If Takamichi Cristalia can kiss a pink ranger, the the secondary rider can kiss the main rider girl!! No joke though, sometimes I can’t help but feel like Touma has feelings for Mei..... which I know probably is just me overthinking, but that’d be a really interesting addition to the plot. Has there ever been a love triangle between the main rider, secondary rider and main rider girl before? hmm....

6. Primitive Dragon!!!!!!! holy crap!!!!!!! I don’t know if I’ve ever said this before, but I FRICKIN’ LOVE BERSERK FORMS!!!!!!! I don’t know why, but the idea of the main character obtaining a power that choses him and yet he has no way of controlling said power, just interests the heck out of me! I feel like Touma REALLY needed one too! Like I said before, his character has been really flat from the start, so when he obtained this strange, ancient power that he can’t control at all, so much more is added to his character! Fear of the unknown, fear of being the one that hurts his friends, an intent to find out what’s behind the power, curiosity of why it chose him. Just so much can be added! I haven’t been this excited since Metal Cluster hopper was introduced! XD

7. The master of logos... or master logos? is it? he kind of gives off final boss vibes. But he could also be the sort of ‘misunderstood guy that’s just trying to do good things in a very... seemingly evil way’. if that makes any sense. I’m really looking forward to his involvement with everything. Especially if he’s like, Touma’s long-lost-brother or uncle. Low-key hoping that he’s related to Touma. (like I said, I REALLY wanna know more about Touma’s past)

8. Ren like always is being a brat. But I did like how he’s actually giving what Ogami said to him some thought. Ever since watching his episode of the swordsmen biographies, I honestly thought that Ren might just end up going off with Dissast and betraying everyone. But now, especially with Kento’s return, I feel like Ren might learn and mature a bit. Heck, he might even start looking up to Touma for all we know. (that’s just a theory)

9. Storious so far is my favorite of the three Megido. I don’t know if it’s because he’s played by Robin or what, but I’m always looking forward to his scenes. The Megido also make me curious about their backstories. Just why are they looking for more power? why do they want to rewrite the world? I’m so excited to learn more about them!

10. And finally!!! Kento’s back!!!!!! I know that he must be under some kind of influence via Kurayami ( or not considering what he’s had to go through) and probably isn’t all THAT back. but still! he’s back! Now Toei, put him back in the opening and ending credits! I had already theorized that he’d be the new Caliber, but now that I see it, I just want him to be Espada again. Poor baby. Though, considering that Sabela is the one that took Kurayami, does this mean that he’s under her influence and working for her? hmmm.... This is gonna get interesting~
