i’m gonna cave and say one more thing about demilypyro because it irritates me to no end that people are accusing me of lacking reading comprehension when imo the actual issue is a tremendous lack of historical context and how out of touch people are with how absofuckinglutely devastating christianity has been to the modern world, especially for people of color.

But sure, some christians and weirdos online think trans people are icky so it's not real, probably. lol.

THIS is the part of her post i have tremendous issue with. it’s not her coping with humor. and i hope it’s obvious that i think transphobia is bad.

christians have done SO so much more harm than just thinking that queer people are icky. because before colonization happened, queerness was common and accepted, and in many cultures, even revered.

but then guess what, the roman empire happened. and then after the byzantine empire happened.

and then after that the still very much alive institutionalized catholic church rooted it’s cancer in the world.

and then after that, the british, french, spanish, portugese, german, italian, and yes, dutch (being particularly relevant, demilypyro supposedly being from the netherlands) empires happened.

and of course, we now have america.

and thus through conquest, bloodshed, and genocide, white people spread christianity to literally every corner of the world and with it, christian values of homophobia and transphobia.

as a second generation korean immigrant, first generation american, and the eldest child of a pastor, i am directly impacted and incredibly traumatized from white colonialism.

so yeah, it pissed me off more than a little bit how quick people are to accuse me of lacking reading comprehension and jumping to defend someone who made at best, a carelessly offensive and at worst, horrendously privileged comment.

if you don't have to think at least a little bit everyday how horrendously fucked up things are because of christianity, then that is an immense privilege.

i stand by what i said and i hope that more people seek to actively decolonize themselves instead of reveling in passive ignorance.

Dog trainers have a really nasty habit of dehumanizing disabled people. Disabled people are human beings with human needs who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The way a nonverbal person communicates is worthy of respect.

I'm going to be crystal fucking clear about this: equating disabled people to dogs is ableist and dehumanizing. Disabled human beings are not dogs. Nonverbal human beings are not dogs. Do not use disabled people in your dog training metaphors, do not use them to justify your dog training decisions.

After Season 2 came out there were a bunch of shitty people insisting that Mabel needed to be punished for her "selfishness" and that Weirdmageddeon was her fault and the show was bad for not . . . raking a 12-year-old girl over the coals for being tricked by a superpowered entity. It was stupid. It was exhausting. The only thing that granted me relief was that the show itself LOVED Mabel, and never punished her for the crime of being 12 or held her to a different standard than the men in her family who had made mistakes just as bad.

. . . Aaaaand then Lost Legends came out and one of the stories was about how yeah actually, did you know Mabel *was* selfish and she *was* responsible for the way Bill took advantage of her? And really she needed to Learn Her Lesson?

And I have been exploding it with my mind ever since.

we both adore suni and thea and the whole universe they have crafted with acswy, and it’s true that we’ve drawn some inspo from the way they set up the campbyler blog! however, blogs for fics aren’t a new thing by any means, and saying that we *stole* the concept from them is simply not true by any stretch of the imagination. plenty of people create blogs for fics, and ours is intentionally structured a little differently than theirs - for example, we intend to do multiple fics together both in and outside of the cmwygas universe, so this blog is more of a home base for our brand as co authors than it is a Fic Blog in the way that campbyler is.

additionally, once we start posting the fic you will see that it is Very Very Different to acswy in terms of vibes and content - the only real similarity is that it is also an au. however, if any part of that is going to upset you, you’re more than welcome to stop hiding behind the anon function like a coward so we can block you on all platforms!! reading privileges are for Nice People only 👍

finally, and possibly most importantly: it does not do anyone any good to compare authors and stories to each other. best case scenario you piss people (i.e. ME) off, worst case you intimidate or harass someone into not wanting to share their art! and that is never EVER okay. for anyone that might still be worried, i can assure you that we have the explicit consent of The thea wiseatom in creating this blog, and we would never Ever want to step on her or suni’s toes in any creative endeavors so we take this very seriously. hopefully this clears up any confusion, as we will Not be tolerating shit like this from now on ❤️ the defense rests thank you so much.
