I just went on a very fun trip to the pumpkin patch today in preparation for this year's carving, it seems like the perfect timing to share something pumpkin-y. I bought this collection of (mostly) pumpkin themed art at a library sale for the grand total of ten whole cents.

OMG Zine, Please! #1: #AfterCollege
Check, Please! started with a boy named Eric Bittle, a vlog channel, pies that materialized out of nowhere, and a play like no college hockey team has ever seen before—falling to fetal right on the ice at the thought of contact.
And somehow, that all turned into a thriving community of artists, authors, fans ranging from chill to downright feral, hockey butt enthusiasts, and more amazing people than one can count on a baker's dozen of hands.
Check, Please! told the story of Eric Bittle from Day One on the men's hockey team at Samwell University through to a triumphant graduation.
And we here at Zine, Please! were dying to know...what happened after?!?! And a lot of y'all had ideas. So. Many. Ideas.
So, after months of dedicated work from our admin team and our contributors, Zine, Please: #AfterCollege is officially here!
All of us are so thankful for the support and excitement all of you have shown, and we hope that you all love this zine just as much as we do. A special thank you to our contributors, this zine would be nothing without your wonderful art and fics!
Now come see all the chaos that ensues #AFTERCOLLEGE!!!

more reblog friendly version of that korean lgbt resources ask!
the first lgbt korean variety show merry queer just started airing it's a documentary with a small celebrity panel offering commentary. it follows the stories of several diff korean lgbt people and their various experiences with navigating life and coming out it's quite emotional. the panel is hong seokcheon (actor/restauranteur/television personality who is considered the first openly gay celebrity), shin dongyeop (one of korea's national mcs, in the top 5 television personalities in skorea and hong seokcheon's close friend), and hani from exid.
hyperlink press is a korean diaspora and queer curatorial collective based in new york that hosts and curates a lot of cool art projects about queer and korean diasporic identity. their original concept was being inspired by south korean lesbian forums from the early 2000s, which is where they got their name. they had a really cool zine about korean lesbian history that has been discontinued for copyright reasons but my best friend got a copy and i loved it!
there's also a lot of korean queer youtubers nowadays just google 퀴어 and various keywords and u can find some rly good content, not a lot of it has eng subs tho! here's edhi park and her friends' youtube channel! they have lgbt vlogs, short films, discussions, and all sorts of content on there!
last time i was here i went to a cool exhibit event that queer arch or (korean queer archive) was doing i linked their website! i learned a lot about korean lgbt culture and activism from the 70s to now and got to flip through gay and lesbian and trans magazines from the 90s and 2000s it was so cool.
i also rly enjoyed the zine "Queereans: The LGBTQ+ History of Korea" by jkimdraws it was free on gumroad last time i checked!
from @yujacha "coming to you (2021) is a really really lovely doc about two korean moms and their queer children!!" hadn't heard of this one will check it out!!
love this primer on queer korean cinema it offers really good contextualization and discussion as well as a list of recs!

hi sarah! do you or your followers know of any good books/resources geared toward coping w chronic pain? (things that have NOT helped me, predictably, include CBT, acceptance/commitment therapy, and their offshoots). I’m trying to get a feel for ideas for thinking about my pain and surviving it. honestly, even a good memoir or zine recs would help. thank you so much in advance!
I 100% recommend going to #NEISVoid with these questions! The No End in Sight podcast (transcripts avail) is also a really amazing resource. Truly, disability twitter has been the single best way for me to come to terms with my own pain, as someone who acquired chronic pain as an adult.
I also like the Chronically Badass zine a lot. Plus, in this essay, Maia Dolphin-Krute asks important epistemological and phenomenological questions about pain, dependance, responsibility, etc.
Annie Elainey is no longer active on youtube, but their videos/vlogs about disability, chronic pain, and accepting crip life are so, so gentle. Sometimes I watch the old ones, especially the everyday vlogs, and feel so seen and held.
This video (the last in an excellent series by Sins Invalid) also offers amazing insight into living with pain both socially and "within" the bodymind. There's a discussion of spiritual practice (broadly construed) as a mode of contending with pain, fyi if that's something triggering for you.
Lastly, I always recommend the poetry book Bodymap by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha and The Cancer Journals by Audre Lorde.
Opening the floor for others to jump in here, but these were some resources that came to mind for me!

{2022生2月} February Screenshots // Spirit & Strife Zine
I watched Advent Children 5 times between end 2021- beginning 2022 and practiced on his outfit before finally deciding to draw CC Cloud instead. I usually tackle full-bodies for zines, it was a pleasant change to paint a portrait for once~
These are wip-screenshots from both painting and standee I designed (I think they look really cool, I’m happy to share hehe)! This standee is the first piece of merchandise I ever made and it holds a very special place in my heart! Thank you very much for the opportunity ♥ !!
I am currently uploading the timelapse of the painting and I should get to uploading the standee BTS once my package arrives *crosses fingers!* I’ve been keeping for so long, but I’d love to have the entire experience of traditonal-to-digital-to-final_product in one video so I’ll hold for as long as it needs..! ☆ UPDATE FURTHER DOWN, the video is mADE!!
youtube
As a surprise for being here, here’s the little eerie edit I ended up inserting in the timelapse as an add-on
Tumblr media
I had 2 files corrupted while working on this. I don’t remember what happened anymore (let me check discord).
..
right
Tumblr media
I don’t remember mentioning if I lost any work, but I will assume I lost a couple of hours (+2hrs of trying to restart my pc and make it work again 💀).. Gladly this time there was a very pleasant recovery file which I duplicated and feared every time I saved in PS //cries
Unfortunately file corruptions occur more often now, that's my signal that my poor pc needs an upgrade (who can afford one in this economy??? Prolong the lives of your machines, friends!). I'll live in fear and 5 backup files until I decide my hardware hates anything above 5000px+ files and I go smaller (which is not happening, sorry friend, we'll have to keep being fried a little longer.. hang in there..)
[9月2日Update] I have uploaded the second (and final) timelapse with a little assembly video at the end and some extras~
youtube
I have the habbit of working at least x2 bigger in file than what goes into print. First lesson learned was this is unnecessary in merch-making of small sizes (I actually worked x3~4 times bigger and it shows in the video why it was a bad idea //wheeze) especially since my lineart is very thin and it gets lost if shrinked. I’ve watched so many merch-making vlogs in the past years, print-test got drilled in my brain and forced myself to test it at least once (gotta be professional about it, right? ;3) It wasn’t too early on, but it was early enough to change the composition of the piece as it set realistic expectations to what would work out or not (the size was so important, I hadn’t realised it would shrink so much because I obviously read very well and was fully aware of the OG size provided by the lovely mods). From the original design to the final I made a lot of changes and I was too obsessed with the meteor to let go. I cut at least 5mins (already sped-up) of me trying to lineart it and failing miserably so I switched back to PS and did it there. I cannot watch my own timelapse anymore without feeling dread and bored lmao, my convolution makes my skin crawl, so meticulous.. If it’s interesting to anyone I’ll be happy, if not then I am not surprised, I am not either! It made a beautiful base regardless, so it was worth it~ On a final note, no I did not 100% forget what kind of idea I had for the flaming buster sword (the meteor was supposed to reflect-in-tiny over it) and completely ignored my initial sketch to polish something I wasn’t sure what it was. It works out in the end so we’re good ok.
If there’s one thing I am taking from working on this is; don’t experiment when merch-making, it will make your life so much easier to stick to a process but knowing myself this is not happening. It’s just not me lol //runs
I am in denial that the zine is finally wrapping up.. It’s been such a wonderful experience sharing the Cloud love between us (for ~7 months?? time flies ;;;;;;!!) //is emotional.. I am very grateful and honoured to be part of this wonderful project ♥ thank you everyone for your lovely company during this time ;; I will always hold our little chit-chats and cloud-love-sharing dearly in my heart. Mod team, you are STELLAR and I hope one day our roads cross again💫!! ---
Thank you for making it this far 🌦️
Leftover sales will be up soon, so follow @strifezine // Spirit & Strife zine as it’s your last chance of grabbing a copy or merch item if you missed out on the first round!

A facet of growing up that I'm really fascinated by are entertainment niches and how they develop and are perceived over time. What I mean by this is the way that a piece of entertainment technology (eg. The Radio) will be used to fulfill a requirement people have (eg. auditory stimulation), and how the technology will change with time, but the requirement won't.
By following this line of thinking you begin to see the development of entertainment technology become cyclical.
A piece of technology emerges among a small group of people who stumbled into it accidentally. They develop communities around that technology. Art develops within that community, which draws more people to the technology. Eventually, that community reaches critical mass where by it is so popular that those artists can begin to make money. This incentivises big business to invest, and the power of art for that technology is robbed from the artist.
What's interesting as well is the way that these technologies often feel childish or infantalising.
All of this is to say that the things we enjoy today are exactly the same as the things enjoyed 30, 40, 50, 60 years ago. Their form has changed, but the thing they do is the same.
What is the difference between a small Twitch Stream and Independent Talk Radio? Or a Zine? Or Independent Television?
What's the difference between a vlog, or a blog, or a recurring travel segment in a magazine, or a regularly released 8-track which was just someone talking about a trip they went on?
What's the difference between a short film on youtube, a short film at a festival, a radio play, or a light novel?
People use to watch Television the same way people watch Video Essays today, the same way people would listen to the radio before, the same way people would gather in the streets and listen to a crier.

11/19/22
A day of *hopeful* rest.
A simple day, maybe more weary that relaxed but alas I obey do my body. Sometimes things don't go as planned and one feels like everything is just falling out of control, like every progress has been thrown away, my mind loved to think like this but ultimately I only hurt myself.
.
Tomorrow we can always do and be better, if we treat ourselves with tenderness and understanding, even after a misstep we can go right back to the progress and start from there as normal.
🍂 Productivity
Watched a lecture
Sent emails
🍂 Self Care
Started a zine
Made a little vlog
Didn't watch the phone
Started Hannibal (is it self care??)
Wasn't to strict with myself about what I accomplished

New zine review!! Once again I'm sharing work from Beefus von Griefus and Kriegshund Chaos on Instagram, I got a lot of really cool stuff in this bundle. Definitely this is an episode worth checking out!
The Dying Race series are mini zines featuring art and lore in a fantasy setting, that he suggests could be used for the framework of a TTRPG.
Also included was a TTRPG/ paper doll set that could be used for any TTRPG module!
I have both artists' instagram pages listed in my description but I also want to link Beefus' vlog- He talks about his art and also reviews other people's zines.

Omg yayyy you're back in your homeland! I know you've mentioned before how much you miss it and love having a close connection with your culture and I'm really glad you were able to have that experience again! One day I'd like to visit where my family came from but the country has a fascist government and is really anti-trans so idk if I'll ever be able to :/ ANYWHO enough about me, I was just wondering if you have any resources for books and/documentaries about queer Korean culture? I enjoy learning about queer culture from around the world but unfortunately it's hard to find things about it in Korea. But if you don't know of many or just don't want to take the time to list some resources cuz you're busy that's totally fine! Also, I don't know and will not be presumptuous by acting like I know exactly how you feel since I am *Michael Scott voice* a White but I do know how much it can suck to be forced into a situation where you're simultaneously out with your friends and to yourself but closeted with your family and/or in public. I always feel so out of place in women's restrooms or when my family refer to me as their daughter/sister but I can't go against it for fear of something bad happening so I'll have that same like, "am I lying to myself??" sort of feeling and it sucks and I'm really sorry you have to go through that rn.
hello! thank u dear!
the first lgbt korean variety show merry queer just started and it's honestly more of a documentary!! it follows the stories of several diff korean lgbt people and their various experiences it's quite emotional.
