Birthday Wishes-Connor Murphy X Reader

Word Count: 1,962

A/N: Hey everyone! It was my birthday a while ago so thats where i got this inspiration for this lol. I just want to say I am in no way trying to take attention away from the Black Lives Matter movement I just thought this would be a nice way for people to take a break and unwind with everything going on in the world right now, but there’s a post on my blog with a link that has information on how you can help so please visit it! You and Connor Murphy had celebrated many birthdays together since your parents were best friends in high school and you and Connor were also best friends. You had been at each other's birthday parties since you were born. You had always given one another thoughtful gifts and wonderful cards with handwritten messages full of love. You would never tell Connor but, you kept all the cards he gave you in a box in the back of your closet.

But this year was different as it was your first birthday when you and Connor were dating. He hadn’t said anything about it so you just assumed that it was going to be a low-key night as usual where the two of you just hung out and watched movies at someones house or something like that, what you didn’t know was that Connor was planning a romantic night for the two of you. Before you even started dating you always talked about wanting to go stargazing with your significant other when they finally came along, so he figured why not do it for your birthday. A couple of days before your birthday when you were busy staying after for some kind of club he went to the store and got fairy lights to hang on the back of his beat up truck and a bunch of your favorite snacks. That night he also made a playlist full of all your favorite songs and found the extra mattress his parents kept in the attic to put in the bed of his truck. As the day got closer and closer he took almost every single blanket and pillow from the Murphy household to make the perfect stargazing fort.

Then the day finally arrived, you were on the phone when the clock struck midnight so he could be the first person to wish you a happy birthday, a few minutes after you hung up and went to bed as you were tired and wanted to be well rested because unfortunately you had to go to school, but luckily it was Friday. After you went to sleep Connor wrote you a long birthday message for you to read once you woke up and then went to sleep himself. Connor got up extra early in order to get you your favorite drink from the local coffee shop before he picked you up, you were over the moon and thought that this would be the extent of the birthday celebration, but boy were you wrong. While you were walking in the halls a few people wished you a happy birthday and you said thank you quietly while blushing.

For lunch Connor took you off campus to your favorite fast food restaurant and gave you the first of many presents, this one was a stuffed animal from Build-A-Bear Workshop which he drenched in his cologne which you loved so much. He told you to press the paw and when you did a recording of Connor saying “I love you Y/N” played and you just about died. Connor swears he saw you start to cry but you fiercely denied it. Much to both your dismays your lunch period was almost over and you had to head back to school. The rest of the day went by fairly fast and you got a few more birthday wishes from your peers and even some teachers. At the end of the day Connor dropped you off home so you could have dinner and celebrate with your family. You wanted him to stay for the festivities but he insisted Cynthia needed him home, but he would see you later.

Your family celebration finished at about 6:45 and Connor came and picked you up at 7:15. You went over to the Murphy residence, when you arrived Cynthia, Larry and Zoe were all sitting at the dinner table talking, they stopped their conversation and wished you a happy birthday. You said thank you while blushing madly, you then practically ran up to Connor’s room to get away from all the attention. Once you got into Connor’s room you plopped down on his bed and threw your arm over your eyes. You heard Connor shuffling around the room but then he stopped suddenly, you removed your arm from your eyes and saw Connor standing at the foot of his bed with a picture frame full of pictures of the two of you. “Oh my gosh Con,” you say while getting up and going over to him. “I love it, so much.” You gave him a gigantic hug and he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head. The two of you stood like that for a moment, just enjoying one another’s presence. After you broke apart you took the frame into your hands and looked at all the pictures, there were some form when the two of you first met in middle school, then some from various dances which you dragged Connor to throughout the years, some from dates, and then some candid ones your friends snuck of you when everyone was hanging out together. Those were your favorites cause you could see how much you and Connor adored each other. After staring at the pictures for a few minutes you and Connor decided to just cuddle, what you didn’t know was that he was just waiting for it to get a bit darker before he took you out for the night's final activity.

You were just about to fall asleep to the sound of Connor’s heartbeat when he pressed a kiss in your head and softly said, “Hey sleepyhead, time to get up.”

“Huh?” you said sitting up, head fogged with fatigue.

“Get up. We’re going somewhere,” he gently cooed.

“Where are we going?” you asked, very confused. You figured the two of you were just going to spend the rest of the night cuddling or something like that.

“Guess you’ll just have to wait and find out,” he said booping your nose while getting out of bed. “Come on you slowpoke,” he said already halfway out his bedroom door. You had finally woken up all the way and were following Connor out the door. By the time you made it down stairs he was already waiting at the door with his shoes on. You hurried to put your shoes on because you didn’t want to keep him waiting any longer than you already had, because of this you lost your balance. “Woah slow down babe!”, Connor said while grabbing your arm to make sure you didn’t fall.

“Sorry I just didn’t want to keep you waiting,” you said, cheeks turning bright red while you finished putting in your second shoe.

“You ready to go, Lovely?” he asked, holding out his hand for you to grab.

“Yes,” you said, happily accepting his hand.

Once you got out to his truck he opened your door and you thanked him with a kiss on the cheek. Once you both got settled in Connor handed you the AUX cord and you put on the playlist the two of you made together for car rides, it was filled with your guys favorite songs and songs that reminded one of you of the other person. There wasn’t much talking during the ride as you were trying to figure out where the heck Connor was taking you but the two of you did hold hands over the center console and he was rubbing small circles on the back of your hand with his thumb. After about 15 minutes of driving you finally arrived at your destination, the old abandoned orchard on the edge of town.

You were very confused as to why Connor took you here. “What are we doing here Murphy?”

“Well you always mentioned how you wanted to go stargazing with your special someone, so I figured I would do it for you on your birthday, I just hope I'm special enough for ya,” he says looking down and blushing when he says that last part. He points to the back of the truck that's all decked out with blankets, pillows and even fairy lights, still not meeting your eyes.

“Connor, honey, look at me,” you say, grabbing his hands in yours to make him look at you. At some point you started to tear up because you're amazed he remembered when you said you wanted to go stargazing and amazed that he cared this much about you to set this all up. “I love this very much just like I love you very much. You are more than special to me Connor Murphy.” Once you were done talking you gave him a kiss on the tip of his nose and then hugged him. He rested his head on top of yours and the two of you just stood there for a little while.

Once you finally pulled apart you went and hopped into the back of his truck and snuggled into all of the blankets. Connor pulled his phone out and took a photo of you, “Oh yeah this is definitely my new lockscreen,” he said with a smirk.

“Hey you asshole! It's still my birthday you can't be mean to me!” You said with a pout like a small child.

“Its cute i swear babe,” he said, still with that stupid smirk on his face.

“Come get in here with me you dummy,” you said reaching out for him with your hands.

“Give me two seconds you big baby,” he said while over dramatically rolling his eyes and scoffing. He went into the front of his truck and plugged his phone into the aux and started playing the playlist he made for the night and getting your final gift of the night.

After what seemed like an eternity Connor came and settled into the truck with you. You laid your head on top of his chest and tangled his legs with yours, two of you just stayed like that for a while and enjoyed the stars along with each other's presence. After a while the two of you sat up and started eating the snacks Connor brought and were just talking. He eventually said “I actually have one more present for you.” He dug around in his pocket for a minute before pulling out a small jewelry box. He handed it over to you and when you opened it up there was a small heart shaped necklace with his initials engraved onto it. “It's a locket so open it, there's something inside,” he said watching your face intently while you looked at the necklace. WIth some struggle you opened the necklace and inside was your favorite picture of Connor and another engraving that said “My love forever and always” and your anniversary date. You fully started to bawl now because this was the best gift someone could ever get you.

“Hey, hey, hey what's wrong lovely?” he asked voice full of genuine concern and internally freaking out because he thought he did something wrong.

“Nothing, it's just… this night is so perfect no ones ever done anything like this for me ever. And I love this necklace so much Con,” you said while wiping at your face.

“Come here baby,” Connor said, opening his arms for you to go in between them. You just cried for a little bit because you felt so loved and whispered thank yous into Connors chest.

Once you calmed down Connor helped you put your locket on and once he finished you settled into his chest and looked back up at the sky and saw a shooting star. “Hey look,” Connor gently whispered, “Make a wish”. You didn’t make a wish though because you already had everything you needed right there

Can you do a hc thing where the reader is taller than Jared and he has to stand on his tiptoes or ask the reader the bend down to kiss him and the squad makes fun of him lol

okay so

jared is a little, uh, sensitive about his height

he’s always been short and he’s been teased about it his whole life

so he always set his sights on people shorter than him

just so he could feel tall, you know?

but you showed up and somehow stole his heart

and he’s pretty sure you like him, too

(at least, zoe and alana both say you do)

he feels stupid, though, because the height thing is really bothering him

it’s not you being tall in general that bothers him, but being tall in relation to him, if that makes any sense

yeah, evan basically called him on some bullshit with that

he finally asks you out

you say yes, obviously

and it’s great

it takes some time, but soon jared comes to not only be okay with you being taller, but he kind of loves it

he highkey loves being the little spoon, and you’re tall enough to spoon him easily

he still insists on you sitting in his lap sometimes, and he loves how you’ll just kiss his forehead, or even the top of his head while he plays video games or something

if you’re the type who likes heels, you may wanna hold off for a little while, but eventually he won’t get huffy over you being even taller than usual

he finds that he kinda likes having to go on his tiptoes to kiss you

zoe has taken many pictures of jared on his tiptoes to kiss you and he cycles through them as his lockscreen

connor’s the only one who pokes fun at him for being such a shortie, but only once jared’s not so sensitive about it

jared just replies with his own snarky comments and the two end up bickering until you bend down and kiss jared to shut him up

deh cell phone/social media headcanons (?)

ok so I like rarely post on this blog but I couldn’t stop thinking about like what they’d all be like using their phones and stuff?? idk im tired this is gonna be shitty but less go

jared:

ok but he would def have an ifunny and have like 1834384 followers (or whatever idk how it works but he’d be popular ya know)

and like brag about it constantly

like “guys I’m like,,, ,, kind of famous not to brag”

connor murphy x reader who meet thanks to a little kid

requested: yOUR EVAN HANSEN DATING HEADCANONS WERE ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE OMG how about some connor murphy ones next? ;o -anon

word count: 1646 i’m sorry i’m so extra

You’d decided to work as a camp counselor this summer because you loved kids and it would be lots of fun and would get you some money

Every day you would take them out to the park around the block from the camp

And every day there would be this boy about your age dressed completely in black lurking in a corner of the park that you thought was connor murphy from school but then he’s never really at school so??

You were usually good at keeping track of all of the kids but one little boy had made you a daisy chain and you were busy admiring it, so you didn’t notice when a little girl wandered over to emo dude

By the time you had satisfied the boy, you realized that Annabelle had run off and started panicking and looking for her

And then you found her crying with emo dude frantically trying to calm her down

it wasn’t working poor guy

So you ran over there and left your friend in charge of the other kids

Poor annabelle was absolutely terrified of him- but who could blame her?? He was towering over her, wearing absolutely no color, and very clearly freaking out

After plenty of hugs and reassurances she finally calmed down enough to relax before promptly falling asleep- you’d been there so long that the other counselors had taken the rest of the kids back to camp to take their naps and apparently annabelle is comeplety in sync with the camp schedule

‘i swear i did nothing, i just turned around and she was there crying’ poor emo dude

‘Connor, right? You go to my school. It’s fine, little kids tend to be scared of people or things they don’t know’

connor is just so shocked because you remembered his name???? he wasn’t just the freak to you??? and also you weren’t immediately blaming him? he’s in love

You realize that you should head back to camp but annabelle looks so peaceful and happy that you just pick her up so she can keep sleeping and start to say goodbye to connor

but he actually likes you and you’ve been nice to him so far? So he kinda wants to spend more time with you

‘Wait, i’ll walk you back. It’s my fault you got left behind anyways’

you try and reassure him that it’s not his fault and you’re fine, it’s just around the block dude but he’s actually kinda cute when he’s not making little kids cry?

You start walking and you’ve barely made it out of the park before he starts freaking out and thinks that you just agreed because you were planning to make fun of him

‘this is all just some fucking set up isn’t it? right around that corner you’ve probably got a bunch of people from school to make fun of me’

you try to tell him that nope, that would take way too much clairvoyance and planning and just generally having your life together but he’s not even listening at this point and you’re worried that he’s gonna wake up annabelle

so you just grab him and start whisper-yelling that ‘oh my god is it that hard for you to accept that somebody doesn’t hate you and thinks you’re kinda cute and wants to get to know you better’

and he’s just so shocked that he stops walking because you think he’s cute???? Tbh he’ld rather go for mysterious and intimidatingly hot but he’ll take it

but you speed up because god four year olds are actually kinda heavy?? And poor con has to run to catch up while waving for you to slow down bc at first he’s so confused because you’re leaving him behind?? But once he realizes that your arms are tired he takes Annabelle from you and shit connor just went from kinda cute to the love of your life how does a little kid make him look so soft and gentle?

it didn’t really make a difference because you were almost there but it was still sweet

You get there and he just hesitates before handing annabelle back to you and you’re not sure why

‘do you maybe want to go for ice cream after you’re done working?’

You’re so shocked because this really cute boy is asking you out?? but he takes your silence as disgust and is just like ‘obviously nobody as cute or nice as you would want to go out with a freak like me i’ll just go’ and he starts walking away

and now you’re even more shocked because he thinks you’re cute and nice!!1! But you realize he’s leaving and he also still has annabelle? Like did he not even notice that she’s still snuggled up to him

so you call after him and get him to come back bc obviously you want to go

‘i get done at three’

His face just completely lights up and he looks so beautiful when he smiles he should do that wAY more often

you kiss his cheek and take Annabelle inside the camp building and he just stands there blushing. connor murphy. Blushing. yep. that boy is whipped lol

You’ld think that he’ld go somewhere else for three hours but nope that boy just sits on a bench across the street and waits for you to come out for all three hours in the hot sun in all black bc he doesn’t want to be late and miss you and make you think he stood you up

when you finally get done you two decide to walk to a la mode because zoe has the murphy car and your family doesn’t have an extra

and once you’ve gotten there and gotten your ice cream- mint chocolate chip for you and rainbow sherbet for him (he secretly loves it fight me)- (which connor insisted on paying for) and have finally sat down and eaten most of your ice cream and really gotten into a deep conversation with connor you suddenly get mauled by a four year old on a sugar high bc apparently annabelle’s mom thought it would be fun to take her out for a treat

She’s really apologetic but says that you’re annabelle’s favorite counselor and she looks up to you so much that you just can’t help but say that it’s totally fine

poor con immediately tenses up and shrinks into himself because he likes you and you’re nice and he doesn’t want to ruin this

but you’re determined so you sit annabelle on your lap so connor doesn’t look so tall and gently introduce her to him

she tries to shake his hand and he’s so nervous

But then she see his hair and reaches over the table to play with it and at first he recoils and is like ‘ew no her hands are so sticky’ but she just smiles at him with her crooked little teeth and he absolutely melts and they’re just so adorable you have to take a photo (which will soon become your lockscreen)

At first he was a little bit uncomfortable but then he relaxes and starts talking to her and actually enjoying her company? until you guys decide to leave so annabelle goes scampering back to her mom and connor is quiet as you walk out but he just looks so proud of himself

he asks you if you want to go back to his house bc his parents and zoe should be out and your date was kinda crashed by an adorable pre-schooler

And of course you agree and at some point on the walk you grab his hand and he blushes again

And once you get to the murphy house he’s really surprised because his parents and zoe are home?? and they of course ambush him the moment he steps into the house asking where he’s been and if he’s been smoking again because you really should be hanging out with other kids and not just pot connor but then you step in behind him and everyone’s really shocked

his parents love you so much even if they’re a bit confused on how you like connor bc they think you might be a good influence

But zoe is just like :O bc you’re the girl that wears cute flowery sundresses and plays with little kids all day and connor’s…. well… him. but she goes with it bc alana’s out of town and she could use someone else to hang out with

connor just pulls you out of there and up into his room and starts complaining about his parents and you just sit on his bed watching him pace back and forth

but he seems to just be working himself up so you grab him and hug him and he just melts into it and all the tension leaves him and it’s really sweet

you two lie on his bed and cuddle and talk till you have to go home

he walks you to your house but you stop before you go in to write your phone number on his arm bc of course he forgot his phone in his room

You’re about to go in but then he asks you to be his girlfriend

He’s really shy about it and tbh he kinda sounds like evan but he’s never felt like this about anyone else and he’s a bit nervous

you just kiss him and he’s so shocked bc somebody wants to kiss him?? but also because it’s just so gentle and sweet and pure and he just never thought he could have anything that soft and precious

you whisper that you’ld love to in his ear and then dart inside

con just stands there touching his fingers to his lips till he comes to his senses and wants to text you

he’s never ran home faster in his life
