Here is the final thing that we did while in Arkansas. We went to the Mid America Science Museum which had a super cool travelling exhibit. It was called ✨Toytopia✨. I had a great time and was excited to see the display about my kind.

Also I saw my best friend ZOLTAR. I love that man and was so excited to have him read my fortune. Anyways, I had an amazing time.

SPEAKING OF ANIMATRONICS I SAW A ZOLTAR IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION TODAY!!! i couldn't get a photo because his glass was so clean my camera was reflecting really bad but his latex was PERFECT, no rips or wrinkles, and his paint was perfect and his lip syncing was the most accurate ive ever seen it. i don't carry cash so i couldn't get a fortune but he was PRISTINE

Dumb dog dating advice.

In my book dates shouldn't rely on the price point but moreso how many memories can you make?. I've had more memorable dates at a taco bell then some fancy restaurant.

Or the simple pleasure of sharing a bottle of cheap vodka while you take turns making the most fuck shit character in fallout 3

Memories out weight the hight price route tbh.

I still have in my wallet the zoltar speaks fortune from the machine that sat in a rundown pizza place me and my partner of 8 years would frequent for dates.

And now the state fair ticket from the first outside date me and our new partner did together just the two of us.

If the person you're trying to date won't take anything under a 5star tie and suit dinner it ain't worth it chief. Save those for when it's going smooth n steady and it's a birthday or anniversary.

Don't financially and mentally stress yourself out to whoo someone you barely know at the time.

Start small

Know a cozy cafe? Or a lil hole in the wall bar or pizza place? That's a good start.

Know how to cook?(believe it or not culinary knowledge is a major wow factor in dating sometimes. Shows your personality on a plate and you get to share a nice meal)

Focus on building the connection and memories. Not "how much do I have to spend to wow someone I barely know?"

Romcoms gave us the terminal brain rot you need to wine and dine at a fancy place to win a date and I'm here to say it's bullshit.

Friday, August 4th

This morning was a real internal battle, go or not to go. I’m still not feeling great, so I kept thinking that I should just stay in bed. But the curiosity about the Billion Oyster Project, visiting a new place and the idea that I’m at the finishing line, so I JUST NEED TO KEEP GOING wins. Getting on the ferry to Governors Island gives me a familiar feeling and reminds me of home. I’m already feeling happy that I decided to venture out. It takes about 10-15 min to walk to the project, so I look around the island, I like how green and quiet it is, and at the same time feels strangely abandoned, almost forgotten. When I arrived there were many volunteers there already, I sat down, then we did the introductions. I notice that I feel a bit anti-social, I don’t feel like talking much with people. Yes, I’m not well, but also part of me is mentally preparing to go home, so I almost don’t feel the need. Everyone appears enthusiastic and gives a good reason to be there.

They split us into two groups. The first task my group had to do was to sort through a pile of recently delivered empty shells (they get the shells from restaurants). The coordinator, Ashley, said ‘I hope you guys have good stomachs!’. I soon found out what she meant. We had to pick out rubbish from the pile and open the rubbish bags, which thankfully consisted mainly of empty shells. The stench was unbelievable! Thankfully I had a mask, so that helped a little bit and I avoided the nasty business of bag opening. Apart from the terrible smell there were maggots and little flies everywhere, but you know people around were nice ;-) The second task was much more forgiving - sorting through shells, which were loaded onto a conveyor belt (pick out any rubbish such as lost cutlery or tiny tabasco bottles). This turned out however to be a very dusty job. I left after 2 hours, my initial plan to walk around the island was scrapped. All I wanted was to take a shower. I felt really gross. 

Evening was much more fun. Margarita showed me around Coney Island, we walked and talked. It was fascinating hearing her family story, hearing how kindly she spoke about others. Listening about her grandad made me think of mine, whom I miss dearly. It was an enriching and inspiring encounter with another human being, I felt I could be honest, be myself. She took me to Zoltar Speaks, the fortune teller machine and I got my fortune, which was great fun. In fact the fortune card is so good I’m going to frame it as a reminder of this trip!
