Sunflower! Au Tails makes friends with a lot of Normal (tm) people. Specifically, there's at least Iggy, Zooey, and Barry. And by Normal (tm), I mean the people who aren't interested in becoming adventurers or heroes and would actually rather not have anything to do with it at all.

And I have no idea why I'm giving Tails this tendency... I guess all of those people are his friends in various adaptations already, so I just brought them into the au.

Iggy... ok yeah they're also a child genius, and technically Tails's sidekick sorta. But they're not buit for adventuring and aren't really interested in it and would only go out if they absolutely have to. They do admire Tails for being a hero though and think it makes him cool, and they do learn some self-defense tricks (their weapon of choice is a boomering, but they also keep a blaster on them just in case) down the line, which is more than the other two can say for themselves. I guess you could say they're adventurer-adjacent

Zooey... Zooey is like. Just an ordinary kid in this au? She also has a friendgroup (who are my ocs and not other boom characters, alas. But I love them though I'm still working on them). I thought it would be fun to see Tails interacting with some regular kids so that's why I used them like that in the au. She's not very developed in boom, so I tried to make her a bit more kooky for the au? She's just a really chill and patient person, who's always willing to go with the flow (taken to a comedic degree). She's kind of a rock amongst her friends. But she's not very interested in adventures or heroes or anything like that. She just thinks Tails is cool to hang out with, and he likes how non judgemental she is. (Her being a fox adds another dimension to this.) I imagine in this au she and Tails met through some fandom stuff, like one of them was selling merch or they were at a con together. She mods his TailsTube channel.

Barry. Ok we all know them. They keep in touch with Tails and enjoy his company but are also worried that it might get them involved in another adventure.

I guess I just like to see how Tails responds to different and atypical situations through this au, and also it makes him come off as the most experienced and competent person when it comes to saving the world and such. (Though Tails himself is obviously not friends with those people because it makes him look good)

And Tails being friends with people who aren't adventures, it kinda goes back to one of the themes of his character, everyone is unique and special in their own way. (And also that's why we should all help each other)
