My favorite thing about the Shadow and Bone original trilogy is that there are 3 love interests for Alina, and we all just kind of decided that all 3 men are kind of uncomfortably attracted to each other??? Like what happened to the original plot of the movie???? It’s so valid though, the subtext is there and screaming.

Some random Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom headcanons

Because I’m just feeling it, and why not?

1) After Alys gives birth, Wylan goes to visit her and meet his baby sibling, and Jesper goes with him. They arrive to find that the baby is in fact half-Kerch, half-Suli and Alys is borderline tearful about Wylan knowing this; Wylan is trying to convince her that he would never judge her for cheating on his father because of the situation she was in, and Jesper has doubled over laughing because this is the funniest thing he’s experienced in his life. Jesper begs to be allowed to tell Van Eck that the baby isn’t his. As the kiddo grows up Wylan still acts as a brotherly figure, he visits at least twice a month and brings them the best presents, and he also gives great advice. His boyfriend gives less great advice that the kiddo has to be steered away from.

2) Ok I’m not sure if this one counts as a headcanon because I don’t actually remember the details of how this would fit in with the timeline between crooked kingdom and king of scars, but I have this idea of Nina going back to the Little Palace and Zoya and Genya being seriously concerned about her and originally not letting her go to Fjerda because she’s emotionally unstable, vulnerable, and (because of her death-related powers) having auditory and visual hallucinations of Matthias. Obviously we see her talk to Matthias in her head in King of Scars, basically I’ve been wondering what if that was the most controlled version and before that she would often fall into hallucinations where he was present or even to the extreme of forgetting he was dead until suddenly remembering what happened and continually reliving her pain. For example, waking up in the morning convinced he’s in the other side of the bed; she has a conversation with him, they tease each other, then she rolls over to kiss him and the bed is empty. I’ve actually been thinking about maybe writing a little fic of this so lemme know if you’d like it, I know there are fellow Helnik-angst fans out there.

3) Cornelius Smeet’s wife is brunette and nothing short of a counter argument from the queen Leigh Bardugo herself will ever change my mind.

4) When Inej starts going after slavers, she builds herself up before taking down Heleen but she doesn’t have an attitude of ‘leaving her until last’ because she’s seen what that’s done to Kaz. She knows that Kaz will never have the satisfaction he’s searching for - I could write essays, he’s in many ways an addict - and so instead of finding the individuals who hurt her and taking them down one by one until only Heleen remains, as Kaz has done by murdering the boy who acted as the roper and by the implied murder of Saskia and Margit as well as many others, Inej doesn’t focus her efforts on directly tracking down the people who hurt her individually. Her focus is far more in the individuals who are being hurt right now. She will go after Heleen when she is good and ready, but it will be by no means the last act she takes in her journey because the purpose of this journey is not revenge on Heleen; the purpose is the act of taking the journey as her healing process and saving not only the thousands of children being hurt right now, but the thousands more that would continue to be hurt by the people she takes down for so long.

Where were you? I didn't know where you were... I didn't know if you... I don't need a weak link in my crew.

The words still lingered in her mind. The worried almost, crack of his rasp and the coldness that followed. It had settled in the mid of her stomach and coiled itself tight. A tension Inej was able to ignore until now. Until the Neshyenyer had placed it's final cut, slicing the shadows and driving them out.

Sankta Alina was safe. The Darkling was dead. Zoya and Nina stood by her side. That was all that mattered. They had won and despite the waryness in her bones and the safety of the blade against her back the coil in her stomach tightened as she walked alongside her comrades back to the palace grounds. Back to where they had left Wylan, Jesper... and Kaz.

Inej wasn't one to linger on words that were used to inflict pain. She'd had enough pain to last more then several life times. Her heart was set on making good on the promise she'd whispered to the Saints before departing on this journey.

Every abducted child, woman or man, all the people and indentures kept against their will would have a Wraith. She would retrace her steps, go and find her brother, then, together they would hunt down the slavers that took them from their family and their home.

When their small group finally reached the top of the hill and began their descent the acrobat caught sight of a familiar silouhette. Long, crisply tailored coat, straight stance, hand on his cane. Sharp lines and tailored edges. The coil inside her drew tighter as she watched him turn and stopped in his movement when their eyes met. It was gone before she could form thoughts about it. Inej turned away from him, stopping next to Sankta Ali... Alina to pass the Neshyenyer blade on to it's rightful owner. She felt almost naked without the swords weight against her back, but it had never belonged to her. It was fit for a Saint, not a Wraith.

After all words were spoken and all the promises exchanged, there was only one place left to go.

Inej made her way to her friends, past the rubble of a horrible battle, past fallen soldiers, past the survivors. She looked up to see Kaz looking at her glacier grey eyes warming to an almost cerulean, like sun hitting water and chasing away a storn. The coil inside her unraveled. She was home, with the people she called family, the boy she had so foolishly come to care for right there. Her lips called into a smile. They deserved a win.

In honor of the Shadow and Bone Season 2 teaser dropping, here's some dumb headcanons about Grishaverse characters (mostly the crows), including ideas of how they'd do in modern day:

- Wylan is generally an upstanding citizen post CK but never seems to notice the massive amounts of smuggled Jurda being secretly transported on his ships by the dregs

- Jesper becomes a lot more fond of his fabrikator abilities once he realizes that he can make his clothes even flashier and standout

- Kaz could absolutely solve a Rubik's cube in 12 seconds

- Inej has a knife engraved with a pattern of wild geraniums

- Nina would make Matthias watch Frozen with her and spend the whole time cackling at his expression

- Inej introduces Jesper to Suli fashion and now he wears a bunch of silk patterns, which delights Inej

- Kaz has way more Suli proverbs memorized than he would ever admit out loud

- Jesper's father and Inej's parents get along splendidly

- Alys and Bajon absolutely end up together

- Kaz is always aware of where Rollins is, and when he wants to disrupt his life a bit, he sends a letter to wherever Rollins is living

- Wylan and Nikolai keep in contact and talk about engineering together

- Inej's family meets Zoya and she visits them when they're in the area

- Nikolai makes pointless, overly complex inventions, like the ones in YouTube videos that go for 20 minutes just to knock something over and pour lemonade into a glass

- Zoya actively messes up Nikolai's hair with the wind, and he can tell when she's around from the change in air pressure

- Matthias would absolutely join Inej in feeding the crows, and Matthias named one after Trassel

- Zoya has a thermal travel cup like we have in modern day, because Nikolai didn't want her to be cold during long trips and decided to invent a solution

- Inej allows Kaz to braid her hair as a form of physical affection because it's less difficult than skin to skin contact

- Matthias is an excellent cook, only because he wanted to make Nina amazing waffles

- Wylan composes love songs for Jesper

- Wylan wears one of Jesper's jackets to a meeting with the merchant council and they are absolutely scandalized by the presence of color in his outfit

- Matthias and Inej occasionally pray together, even though they worship different deities

- Inej becoming basically a pirate has given Kaz so many new options to tease her with - "Are you going to make me walk the plank?" and such in his usual sarcastic tone.

- Zoya occasionally carries Nikolai around in dragon form and he absolutely loves it

abrir a loja não estava sendo fácil, nem por isso Zoya estava desanimada, muito pelo contrário, se encontrava até mais empolgada que o normal. tinha até mesmo alugado uma caminhonete para pegar o carregamento de produtos que passou boa parte daquele mês produzindo e ensinando alguns nativos locais à produzir, de modo que tivessem de onde tirar seu sustento. também tinha passado no aeroporto para pegar as mudas que faltavam para a estufa. com a caminhonete estacionada em frente á loja, ela fazia o trabalho de formiguinha, pegando uma caixa por vez da traseira da caminhonete e levando para dentro. em algum momento acabou pegando uma caixa mais pesada e se desequilibrando momentaneamente, quase esbarrando em muse que passava por ali. “opa, desculpa, deveria ter colocado uma placa informando que estou descarregando algumas coisas, né?” soprou a mexa que havia caído sobre o olho e sorriu para muse, apoiando a caixa de volta na traseira do veículo.
