HOWDY~ So is zucchini glitterhaven half unicorn, a transformed unicorn, something else entirely? I looked thru the tag but have seen no answers to my BURNING querys!

He’s a quarter unicorn! One of his moms is half-unicorn, and the other is human. (Which actually reminds me that I’ve had a comic that mentions both his and his cousin Blueberry’s unicorn ancestry in my WIP folder forever so I think I might redraw and finish that sometime)

#garourex #zucchini glitterhaven #his mom kinda looks like a unicorn-styled satyr #but he as a quarter unicorn only has the tail and eyes and rainbow hair & freckles #and he was expected to have incredibly weak unicorn magic as well but his ended up at full unicorn strength #for complex campaign plot reasons that is probably too long of an explanation for tags lol #also for those new to unicorns in this universe they have children by growing plants together under specific conditions #which is how a human and a unicorn had a half-unicorn daughter together #monster of the week #society of the stream

I went through your MotW tag and I love all of it, especially the bit about unicorn/human crosses coming from cultivated plants (I think I read that right). It's such a creative approach!! Is that why all of the unicorns have fruit/veggie names??

Yep! All unicorns in this universe are born from plants grown by their parents under specific conditions (germinated with their tears and fertilized with their blood most significantly), and while some families use other names it’s considered traditional to be named after your birth plant in the Rainbows. 

It’s also considered a display of social status for unicorns to use difficult, rare, or labor-intensive plants for their childrens’ birth plants – my player character Zucchini for example started out a little bit disparaged when he first started living in the Rainbows for his birth plant being a common, easy-to-grow vegetable, whereas his mom came from a pomegranate which required her parents to grow an entire tree just to have her.

#succubusted #the Glitterhavens are actually an aristocratic family so most of them are extremely petty and concerned with social status #so they're very disappointed in Martha for her and her wife growing their son from a /zucchini/ of all plants #his younger sister Rhubarb is a little more acceptable but she's still on thin ice #also Blueberry's birth plant isn't a blueberry bush -- Blueberry is her middle name :) #also thank you!!! #society of the stream
