His mom leaving and (spoilers!!!) starting a whole new family while he was left to deal with the brunt of his fathers abuse, constantly striving and falling short of his unachievable goals

I feel like this one is pretty self explanatory

I’m not saying he joined the gaang to make up for any inherent darkness inside him, but we’d be kidding ourselves if we didn’t acknowledge that Zuko (especially after becoming fire lord) probably has a deep seated fear of becoming his father in one way or another

Sometimes I hear Zutarians say something along the lines of "it's not that deep, I just think they look cute together. Leave me alone" in response to harassment from Kataangers. Which is completely fine, say what you gotta say to be left alone. But for some of us it is that deep.

Some of us are genuinely passionate about analyzing the narrative cohesion of Zutara. Some of us genuinely felt wronged when it didn't happen. We deserve to be left alone as well. Because even if you disagree, or think our opinion is shit, everyone are entitled to their own opinion and deserve to be treated with respect. Why do I need to say this.

After reading so many posts i've noticed a lot of ppl shit on aang because he doesn't fit ur (western) idea of masculinity & attractiveness uhm

And the facts that they are children it doesn't matter

yes I say this often. it’s also funny bc they rly have to contort zuko to fit that ideal as well. the most egregious example of course being making his scar smaller and less noticeable, but also just in terms of his demeanor and comportment. if anything i respect ppl who lust after iroh because THAT’S a red-blooded ladies’ man who can both destroy and create life. obviously not my cup of tea (sorry), but i nonetheless respect irohfuckers; they know what they want, and i admire that.
