Do you have any Zygarde headcanons?
Zygarde can disassemble and re-assemble its cells when advantageous, such as dodging attacks in battle.
Zygarde is almost never seen in its 100% form.
Sometimes cells turn up in Alola. It's customary to release them back into the wilderness so they can continue to protect the environment.
Its patterns can vary wildly depending on what order the cells arrange themselves by.
Zygarde is hypothesized to be millions of years old. It is unclear if there's more than one due to the rarity of ever seeing it completed.

Some things I'm curious about with Legends Z-A (or ZA? How are we supposed to call this?)
Since Mega Evolution's making a return, do you think we'll see new Megas? I know there was a scrapped Mega Jinx so maybe that could happen.
Who will the starters be? Since the first Legends had Oshawott, Rowlett and Cyndaquill as starters rather than the Sinnoh trio. They could do it again, along with giving it a special Kalos regional variant.
Oh! And if they make new Megas, they could give us Megas for the new starter trio! Or maybe give Megas to the og Kalos trio.
Will we be getting Kalos forms of other Pokemon? Would be cool if we did.
Or new Pokemon. Arceus added new Pokemon (Not many, and they were mainly evolutions with the exception of Enamorus)
Will Kalos still be named Kalos? Or will it have a new name entirely?
Is it set in the past? Sure it's Legends but the trailer looked a lot more... futuristic? So who knows.
Will the game start with the MC getting Isekaid again? If so, will it be by Hoopa? It's the only Gen 6 Pokemon that can send people to other places, though idk if it can send characters across time tho.
If the MC gets Isekaid, will someone else be isekaid too? Like Ingo was? Can we play spot the time traveler?
Gameplay wise, how similar will Legends Z-A be to Arceus? Will there be Alphas? Something similar to Nobles? Can we just yeet a Pokeball at a mon without catching it?
Will you need to complete the dex? If that's the case then PLEASE keep the link cable item.
Will Xerneas and Yvetal get new forms?
What role will Zygarde have in this game?
Could we see new Ancestors (or maybe descendants) of previous characters? What roles will they play?
Could Diantha's ancestor be this game's villain? Hope not, the twist worked with Volo but people would expect it if every champion's ancestor wound up being evil.
Will we be kicked out again?

wait, hang on. when i was planning out my Moon/Ultra Moon teams i completely forgot Zygarde is kind of a Gen 7 pokemon, or at least two of its forms are. which means it isn't breaking the arbitrary rule that exists entirely within my own head about using exclusively new pokemon to that gen.
i was gonna use Alolan Exeggutor on my Ultra Moon run but y'know what, fuck it, Zygarde gets the spot. sorry, long boi.

so like… legends arceus gave dialga and palkia (the original sinnoh box legendaries) origin forms to match giratina’s origin form & similar lore to match, right?
do you think legends za will give xerneas and yveltal incomplete and complete forms (a la zygarde’s 10% & 100% form) with their “default” forms being their 50% forms?
i feel like it could be justified: say that we we only saw the 50% forms in X&Y because of their power being drained & channeled into the ultimate weapon or team flare could only control 50% of it or something

This will not happen but imagine a Shadow of the Colossus style battle with Complete Form Zygarde. Only after you manage to break it down to fifty percent (or maybe even ten percent) do you get to fight it in a regular battle.

I can’t believe I didn’t see this  but Zygarde, especially its completed form, really screams Bujin Sword! Now I can’t unsee Keiwa being a Darkrai AND a Zygarde trainer lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i thought of this upon learning that there's another Pokemon Legends Game, centering around Zygarde lol
Well, Zygarde predated Bujin Sword by about ten years, so it's more accurate to say the reverse- Bujin Sword is the one that screams Zygarde
Honestly, if the aesthetics alone are the only thing you consider, I see what you mean... but considering that Zygarde is supposed to represent balance and Bujin Sword is kinda representative of Keiwa being anything but balanced... yeah

Is Z-A Just Zygarde-A?
In my last post, I theorized that the A in "Z-A" is Yggdrasil, or the Tree of Life Pokemon. Sometime during that post, it clicked: none of my theory would change if the "A" Pokemon was also a new, larger configuration of Zygarde. In fact, it would help.
Tumblr media
Source: BBC Bitesized
Bulbapedia theorizes that Zygarde Cells are based on slime molds, which would be pretty cool. But what if they're actually plant cells?
Of course, Zygarde isn't a Grass Pokemon, but can something made of 10-100 cells really be called a "plant" still? Maybe, I don't know. But Zygarde is a Ground Pokemon, so it's close.
Here's my theory: Zygarde was once a huge Grass-type Legendary Pokemon, the Yggdrasil Pokemon that Xerneas and Yveltal centered around, and may have even lived in originally before Team Flare captured them. This Yggdrasil Pokemon protected the balance of the ecosystem, as you might expect a Tree of Life legendary Pokemon to do.
(Zygarde still protects the balance of the land, it's just harder because half of it lives in a cave and the other half are cells. Something clearly happened.)
Then something cataclysmic happened to disrupt the Yggdrasil Pokemon. A Ragnarok, if you will, and the Pokemon was so devastated that it was split into countless cells thrown all over the world, even as far as the distant islands of Alola.
So Zygarde's cells are the cells of the original Yggdrasil Pokemon. Only, like most complex life, there are trillions of them. Zygarde isn't the complete Pokemon. It's much like Kyurem: a part of a fractured Pokemon that isn't around now.
And what would disassociated cells of the Tree of Life do if they were lost and trying to find their form? Well, remember the Tree of Beginning from the movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew?
Tumblr media
Source: Bulbapedia
Well that definitely is a Yggdrasil reference. It's actually made of crystals, much like the Ultimate Weapon/Eternal Flower, and it can spawn ancient Pokemon from its circulatory system, including its own Regis.
This makes sense given the Tree of Life is the origin of all life, all creatures. And it gave me this idea: when these lost disassociated cells try to come together and find a form, they have a memory of all the creatures Yggdrasil created. This is why Zygarde Cells can come together to form a number of different Yggdrasil legends depending on how many cells are recombined.
Perhaps in Pokemon Legends Z-A, our goal will be restore some version of that tree. And to do that, we'll have to find 1000 Zygarde cells throughout Lumiose City. Why 1000? Well, it's only one more collectable than the 999 coins in the Gimmeghoul quest. And like that quest, occasionally we'll find clumps of them: ten here, fifty there, making our quest more bearable.
But more than that, Zygarde does have an attack called Thousand Arrows. Plus, once you do %100, the next cool percentage is %1000.
And once we find 1000 cells, they'll recombine to make Zygarde %1000. Origin Zygarde. Beginning Zygarde. Or just Zygarde-A.

my silly crack theory for Legends Z-A is that Xerneas and Yveltal will get Primal forms. my silly reasoning is this: Primal Reversion is associated with the beginning and the end of life on earth. the origin of life is associated with Kyogre because it occurred in the ocean — the "Primordial Sea". for Groudon, "Desolate Land" is actually an outlier among localizations, which mostly translate more literally as "Land of the End" (this includes the original Japanese).
Primal Reversion is a way that Legendary Pokemon become (or return to) manifestations of nature at the chaotic beginnings or apocalyptic ends of life — so it only makes sense that Xerneas and Yveltal could've had more powerful forms under those conditions, too. also: the title of the game is Legends Z-A, not just Legends Zygarde. they chose to use the last and first letter of the Latin alphabet — just like Greek has Omega and Alpha.
also x2: Dialga and Palkia got new forms in Legends Arceus, borrowing from Giratina's Origin Forme gimmick. Zygarde's Complete Forme gimmick isn't really appropriate for Xerneas and Yveltal, with the XY duo not being made of cells or anything, so if they get new forms, it should be either a totally new gimmick, OR a gimmick from their debut generation. this could absolutely mean Megas, but just personally I think Primals would be cooler for these legendaries in particular.
also x3: last but not least, Xerneas and Yveltal kind of have this "sleep in a tree/cocoon for 1000 years" thing going on that wouldn't line up with the timeline of PLZA, because those games are going to be set way less than 1000 years before Xerneas and Yveltal awaken in modern times. I don't fully know where I'm going here, but basically, it makes sense why GameFreak might want to drop in some new additions to the lore to help explain the discrepancy — idk, maybe either Zygarde or some happening in Lumiose awakened Xerneas and Yveltal off-schedule by allowing them to Primal Revert.

The only ask that I have (aside from more Megas) is to PLEASE LET 50% Zygard be the main one, the "complete forme" is so much less interesting, let the snake crawl, do not give it legs (they can keep the dog forme it's kinda cute)

So, you told me to DM my idea, so here it is!
I believe that Pecharunt wants one thing: Revenge. Essentially, it’s constantly in pain, agony and suffering. However, no one knows about it, one day in the crater, when most of the trees and terapogas’s died, everyone pinned the blame on Pecharunt and exiled it from the crater. Fueled by hatred, it vows to return and destroy the crater and the world. Starting by absorbing
the last Terapogas, but he doesn’t know the location so it seeks after the masks that Eustace made. After waiting for who knows how long, the events of the DLCs happen. The only difference is that the doll at Peachy’s is not there but the shop owner is (Pecharunt placed her under its control). Before Stellar form Terapogas is defeated, Pecharunt comes out and absorbs it. There is a reason why but Pecharunt is not only absorbing Terapogas, but other
legendaries as well. See, I remember BirdKeeperToby making a video about the tree of life and how the last legendaries may relate to it. But for simplicity’s sake, Pecharunt formulated a plan and also wants to absorb Eternamax Eternatus, Ultra Necrozma, Zygarde Complete form, The Tao trio and Mega Rayquaza. VERY SPECIFICALLY in those forms. It’ll have enough power to then take down the creation trio in another timeline. Then it would travel to another
timeline to absorb Arceus before it hatched and become god in that timeline (he did absorb Hoopa Unbound in another timeline) However, it was eventually stopped by the protagonists and the legendaries would be freed. But it was a hollow victory in the end, as before Pecharunt unfused, it was able to use the last of its energy to blast Kieran to another timeline where Pokémon are nothing more than machines, and the Pokemon that were freed did not make a full
recovery as the legendaries were still poisoned even after 8 months. And Kieran is nowhere to be found. Pecharunt would then be deemed too dangerous to capture and train so high tech prison was made specifically just to house it. Making it the first pokemon to be imprisoned. But that’s my idea! Sorry if I rambled on for too long (a bit of my autistic side is here). If you’re confused about Pecharunt absorbing, I think that can happen as Pecharunt may have the
ability to absorb souls, since the third signboard in Kitakami talked about ‘your soul will be forfeit to the ogre’ or something, but I think it’s referring to Pecharunt. Also, I think that Pecharunt would probably rename itself later into something like ‘Dokuwāro’ or something. But again, thanks for listening!
Okay, so while this stuff may fit on my alt, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS IDEA! Dokutaro/Pecharunt being blamed for something wouldn't be off the mark, as it always has seemed kinda mischievous to me. I also kinda am inspired to maybe thing that Dokutaro is the reason like Ogerpon is blamed for a lot of other things than just the situation with the Loyal Three. Dokutaro could be not just upset because it didn't get it's way but for other happenings such as say Eustace not making it a glittery mask to give it power or something else, so Eustace is now cursed by Dokutaro. I was thinking of the idea that maybe Eustace is stuck in the blackish void of it's inside-shell, if that even makes sense, and that being how Dokutaro stores souls.
I know this is a little ooc from what you said but you're giving me ideas to spitball here. Also its name being Pecharunt...it must have been small and weak and frail at one point...what if it took mock-pity on Kieran later on and fed Kieran his power or so? I'm sorry if my answer seems a little broken I have a weird attention-span and can only remember certain things^^ I love this idea tho and I wonder if I could incorporate it into like, the itty bitty bits n' pieces of Project Venus, esp since it somewhat lines up in canon!
