A rare supercell storm in Texas, USA
In a oh-so-flat open space like Texas a storm like this really is more ominous.
On the thunderstorm spectrum, supercells are the least common type of thunderstorm, but they have a high propensity to produce severe weather, including damaging winds, very large hail, and sometimes weak to violent tornadoes.
What makes a supercell unique from all other thunderstorm types is that it contains a deep and persistent rotating updraft called a mesocyclone.

A Glimpse of the Sky
The night sky seen through the Cyclops Arch in the Alabama Hills. The arch is a double arch, and this view from from the "rear". Looking from the "front" it does resemble a cyclops eye, but from that view it is hard to see both arches. This view is looking Northeast. I assume the green is "airglow". It seems to show up when I am filming towards the darkest part of the sky.
