"A cishet person must have made this, no queer person would ever portray queerness in this way."
"This artist must be white."
"No SA victim would ever handle the subject in this way."
"No woman would ever write women like this."
"This creator is obviously neurotypical. Everyone with autism/ADHD/depression understands-"
Nope.
People who make these blanket statements are very frequently proven wrong when the creator comes out as a member of that group. And even when they aren't proven wrong, even in cases where the creator isn't from the group in question, actual members of the group who don't fit whatever arbitrary criteria are being expressed will see these statements and feel excluded and erased.
Not everyone in your group is going to share your experiences. No single individual gets to personally decide what does or doesn't count as a "valid" expression of trauma or being part of a particular group, and creators are also not obligated to out themselves in order to "prove" their validity.
If something doesn't resonate with you, all that means is that it doesn't resonate with you. You don't have to like it. But you don't get to decide what it means to someone else.

i forgot to put this here
i finished Men at Arms. Holy fucking hell, man.
The gun?? Leonard da Quirm (i think that's his name in Eng)??? Everything????
Im just gonna put a few quotes here, scroll if you don't want them
"I almost became just like him" "No sir. You put it down"
"If you /have/ to be on the wrong side if the arrow, pray that the one holding it is evil... A good man will kill you without a word" (plus this tying back to Carrot?????)
"Dogs were also meaner then wolves. Another thing they got from humans"
Not typing the whole thing, but Vimes' boot theory of socioeconomic injustice
"It's better to light a candle then to curse the dark" and latter on "Better to light a flamethrower then to curse the dark"
I apologise if it isn't exactly a quote, again im bot reading in English, feel free to correct me

you know what's making me insane? the thought that vimes used what VETINARI thought him to defuse the mob in night watch and vetinari learned it from watching him defuse that mob. like. that's insane. that's crazy to me. i dont even need to say anything, that's already poetic enough

Magrat: "He will make friends easily" she whispered. It wasn't much, she knew, but it was something she'd never been able to get the hang of.
Nanny Ogg: "A bloody good memory is what he ought to have," she said. "He'll always remember the words."
Granny Weatherwax: "Let him be whoever he thinks he is," she said. "That's all anybody could hope for in this world."

Oh; it was always there and she said six it was trauma Mercy had - Mercy wasn’t actively aware of the situation, but the problem was there. Remember this is a woman who got married at 17 ( to an admittedly wonderful man only 2 years older), but she had some awareness of how weird the world can be. She recognizes predators, it was Mercy who didn’t.
im kind of concerned about P.Briggs, I recently re-read the earlier Mercy Thompson books and, the weird defences of unhealthy relationships, child abuse and men-cant-be-friends-with-women narratives that have come to define how both Mercy and Anna see the world, aren't present. There's even whole dialogues between mercy, honey and ben directly discussing how people who think like that are wrong and it's f-ed up, but you skip back to the current books and it's all, of course my foster dad was sexually attracted to me when I was a child, thats natural and good, all men are like that and girls love it secretly, bull that is, stark comparison. like just, is she ok? what community is she in that these views are normal now? what are the men in her life like?

No, that’s nitrogen, Neutrogena is the blue X-Men character who’s power is teleportation
You know, these new apocalypse prophecies just don't carry a punch. 'Oooo, the illuminati is going to perform a mass human sacrifice under the guise of the eclipse.' Big deal. 'Oooo, the path of the eclipse lines up with the seven cities of Neutrogena and when the sun is covered then everyone that got vaccinated is going to turn into a zombie.' I'm so scared.
Bring back 'huge fucking wolf eats the sun.' That's a classic that never gets old.

This all sounds wonderful and amazing
I wish I could write vampires in a neat, original way but all I can think of is vampires in the Appalachians who feed off The Horrors found in the mountains.
…And maybe bootlegging moonshine? Or being part of That One Family who owns a little shitty ragtag bar that operates as like. A blood bootleg or something.
EDIT: Actually. ACTUALLY. Given the Horrors that live in the Blue Ridge and other parts of the Appalachian chain… This could be a fun way to make my own vampires! Maybe the mystery isn’t “are they vampires” but … “where have all the Horrors Gone”….

Thank you for speaking about this - this is something I haven’t been able to describe the vibe of situation and the drama.
Thinking about how petty some writer's groups can be (re this post and the likelihood of the person being reported to gDocs) and remembering the time I was invited onto a mailing list group that boasted Addison Cain (yes, that Addison Cain) as being one of the people you'd be networking with.
When I tell you, I recoiled. Like on the one hand, cool that Hunger Pangs was doing enough numbers at the time to even get on their radar, but also, no, thank you.
There's enough drama in writers' groups without willingly walking into the mean girl circle of hell.

And that is like a known fact, plus I have a degree in environmental studies, so like, I can say “well, we were wrong about a culture we never studied” far quicker than I can say “we were wrong about a creature who we know on record dies if it swims south of say, Scotland?”
I think if a fairy showed up at my house like yeah they are not real but there is narrative precedent for that. a fairy, if it existed, would show up at a house. i just need to suspend one disbelief everything else tracks. it's a big surprise, but a singular one. i would know how to get with the programm pretty quick.
if a walrus knocked at my door there would be many more fucking questions than one. a walrus showing up at my house? knowing that knocking is the required social etiquette? having reasons to know on my door and somehow the ability to do that despite having no arms? said walrus coming to me of all people?? a walrus being real is the least of my concerns at that point why the fuck does it need my help what kind of problem can I solve that a socially aware and apparently findextrous walrus fucking can't

Also, a walrus would literally die of the heat if tried to come and knock on my door, despite being within five miles of the ocean
