MANIFESTATION, GOALS, INTENTIONS AND GRATITUDE AND MOREEEEEE
This is my guide to how I do my daily self work to bring some joy and happiness and better things closer to me.  Everything I do listed below is written down in the same place - a generic leftover half used spiral notebook next to my bed.
I have a little anxiety and uncertainty and a little moop (a word for when you’ve got sad mood that’s kinda blah but it doesn’t have as quite of a severe connotation as depression does imo) when it comes thinking about the future.  To get super real for a second here, it can be so so bleak sometime to look ahead and look at where I am now and where I could be like if only if only.  Coming out of an unhealthy and toxic relationship and being on the mend from that also has me looking for ways of actively reviving my worth and my joy and I’m glad to report that what I’ve outline below has helped me personally and by sharing, I hope I can help others :) :)
Also just as a note: I use the Universe instead of God, Goddess, Spirit, etc bc that’s my preference.  Mentally sub that for whatever works for you <3
Contents: sorry this is a hella long post but here’s the break down - Manifestation (what I used to do) - Goals (what I do/how I altered manifestation to make it work for me) - Intentions (goals are long term, but here’s the daily) - Gratitude (how it puts things into perspective) - Meditation (an on and off again relationship/the one that always gets away) - How the fuck do I fit all this into my daily routine ?
Manifestation: So when I first started this routine I used kinda generic manifestation and threw literally everything I wanted at the Universe like here this is what I want and it’s your problem now.  That’s the idea I got from the very minimal reading I did on manifestation and law of attraction type shtuff.  I reallllllly hesitate to call what I currently do manifestation but it’s like a cousin and is closer to setting goals.  I’m not going to go into manifestation further but the “manifestation work” I do is like everything written here collectively.
Goals: This is the branching out I did for manifestation.  It’s more accessible language too.  A goal is something I want and it’s something attainable.  Transitioning from manifestation to goals was kinda necessary to me because when I was doing manifestation was me throwing every tiny little want and need at the Universe.  Goals was that but with filters and then elaboration.  I went from asking for like 8 or 10 things that would change often to asking for 3 consistently.
Here’s a working example.  One of my old “manifestation” items was “a sense of confidence in my body.”  Let’s pull this apart a bit.  This isn’t a bad thing to ask for at all; it’s definitely something that can happen.  But like does the Universe really need to bestow that onto me or is that something I could do on my own.  It’s too specific and exclusive as well.  The perception of my own physical health comes from my personal relationship with myself, mentally and emotionally.  My body confidence won’t change unless I work at how I talk to myself or unless I start to praise my own appearance.
I use a different, but related version of this older item currently in my goal statements that aims to “improve the relationship I have with myself for myself through positive self talk, self care, and recognizing the joy that comes through exploring my relationship with myself.”  This is longer, but it’s bigger picture.  It encompasses mental, physical, and emotional health.  It also emphasizes my part in it, which was the biggest issue I had with what I was calling “manifestation.”  I think it’s ok to ask for things, but personally asking and waiting passively for something to drop into your lap just on the merits of asking for it felt unrealistic.  I think my biggest personal distinction between goals and manifestation was introducing accountability, thus empowering myself to make the changes in my life that I wanted to see.
Intentions In addition to writing my goal statements, I write my intentions.  The goals are more specific to the season or a couple month to a year long period, whereas the intentions are a couple of ways I want my day to go.  Again, this is kinda me empowering myself to take action and decide how my day will unfold.  It’s just a couple of brief statements about things I want to happen, but less of a tangible to do list and more like what’s the vibe today boysss
So for example on a to do list I had this week: chem for mon, wed, fri, bio lecture notes from thursday, final revisions on whatever weekly essay it was lmao rip, and then a couple emails.  This was a to do list from Monday and I have work and class and meetings and bathroom break and have to take care of the dogs and make food and eat the food and drink water and maybe squeeze in a workout from 9am to 3:30pm on top of the to do list, which is usually just classwork.  My intention for the day was to “be productive enough to prepare for tomorrow.”  This is a way to say do the bare minimum and feel better about it.  Another intention I had was to “recognize and when I need a break and give myself the rest time I need to be productive.”  Another way of justifying slacking off occaisionally but giving it an elevated purpose through the wording.  It also makes me feel like shameful about not getting everything I planned to do in one day because I carried out my intentions.
Gratitude! This is my absolute favorite part of my routine!  It brings everything home for me and I can really draw attention to all the mundane disguised positivity in my life that might go unnoticed or underappreciated otherwise.  This one is so simple.  I start by writing “I’m grateful:” and then just list whatever comes to mind easily.
If it’s hard at first, make sure you’re not overthinking.  When I introduced this into my routine I would almost talk myself out of the stupid things, but I think that’s where a lot of my small, daily joy comes from.  Yesterday was cold and rainy and that’s my favorite weather so I wrote “rainy and cold” on my list and I think I put sweatpants on their too.  Don’t overthink it and don’t force it and just start doing it.
Here’s some research for the benefits if you don’t want to listen to me, please listen to the science, more of the science and a little more.  If these links don’t work- sorry but they’re random articles I found from google scholar after searching gratitude journaling.  SO much evidence out there
Meditation This is my long lost love.  I feel like I never have the time and I’m fighting to put her back into my routine.  It makes me feel great and settles me into my body.  More posts to come if when I get back at it.  If anyone has techniques or guided mediation recommendations omg let me know.  I use a couple podcasts, one is purely guided mediations because they’re like 5 or 10 mins each and I’m short on time a lot.  The other is called nothing much happens and it’s just like bedtime stories about mundane routines and not strict mediation, but I love them.
My daily routine and how I make this work for me and don’t give up: My first rule is that if I’m not in the mood, I simply do NOT.  Like days where shit sucks is different from days where you feel like you’re breaking down and it physically hurts to think about the future or your goals because everything is so hard.  I get that and I treat myself like an adult and know that not doing it one day won’t be an issue as long as I make sure I do it the next day.
In the morning, I think about my schedule.  What is today and what is the best way to approach what I have going on?  What is the best way to direct my energy?  This is intention time :) And then this is where I’m trying to add meditation back in but I really suck at morning time management and I’m trying to use the time to work out before my day gets started.  We’ll see lol I’ll prob add it in at the end of my day to help me get to sleep feeling a little more settled and comfy in my own body and mind.
I try to keep my intentions in mind during the day.  Sometimes it happens, sometimes not.  It’s ok because I did them and I thought about it at least one time during the day for it’s own special, dedicated amount of time.
After I’m completely done for the day, I go what the fuck am I doing on this planet, how can I improve my existence, what do I see happening for myself? Under my intentions, I write my big three goalssss.  Something for my own healthy, something for my career and academics, and something to kinda talk about my meant to be, forever home of person that I’m trying to attract.  Self-career-social kinda triangle of goals.
Under my goals, I zoom in on everything that went great.  The last thing I write down for the day is gratitude so that even if I get a little stressed about not following my intentions too well or not making a lot of progress towards my big picture goals, I can look at today and go I had a great cup of hot chocolate and binged AHS though and I don’t regret it because it made me so happy that I wrote it down.
The end thanks for reading this incredibly long post.  I love these long posts where I can just go on about what I do :) I really hope this helps someone who doesn’t vibe with what they’re seeing in their skimming over of law of attraction and manifestation stuff.  Fuck that and do you.  Sending so much love to y’all <3 L :)

My Big Fat Hot Take on Daily Draws
Hi hi hi idk why I always start my posts by saying hello but it feels wrong or rude if I don’t so that’s why I do.
This is a post on daily tarot draws.  And my opinion on them and I want y’all to know it’s really just an opinion based on my experiences as a beginner tarot reader and I really could rant about this because I have strong opinions towards daily draws, but I’m gonna try and keep it organized like my other posts
Theory Behind Daily Draws Across the posts and websites and youtube channels and videos and instagram posts or videos I looked at and still look at (because the learning never stops yo) one of the most common pieces of advice given to beginner tarot readers is to draw a card once a day every day.  There’s a couple reasons why this is a suggestion which I’m going to cover below.
This helps you gain familiarity with your new deck and the cards themselves in the most pure sense of the word familiarity.  Based on probability, you should be able to shuffle your deck each day and draw a new card for a solid amount of days in a row.  You’ll be able to feel the way the deck feels and you’ll be able to see what the artwork looks like on a good variety of the cards in your deck.
Drawing a daily card can also be used to pin down an intention for your day.  It might be something to meditate on or a mindset to take on as you move forwards temporally.  This meditation on the daily draw could offer another dimension of spirituality to your tarot practice.
Instead of meditating on the daily draw, tumblr user hillbilly oracle suggested using the daily draw as a prediction for one sure fire thing that will happen in the day.  This is used to associate more concrete meanings behind the cards that your particular deck spits out at you each day.
Discussion: Benefits, Negatives, Opinions, the Whole Enchilada Based on the overview of the theory of daily draws, you can probably draw a few conclusions for yourself, but I’m also writing this to give a big picture of where I stand with this particular technique.
The upside is that it’s exposure to the cards and it gets you into a habit of using your cards for like at least five minutes everyday.  It can also serve as an expansion of other practices like meditation or intention setting or just general divination.  And tarot cards are literally like for divination so if this is your starting technique or if doing daily draws is your gateway into tarot or your learning method, not only are you learning, but you’re also actually doing the thing and I’m so proud of you :)
Ok that being said, I did this for a solid month.  Every day I drew a card and started by using it as like a “What’s the vibe today?” kind of drawing.  Somewhere along the lines of meditation or intention setting, but farther away from pure divination or prediction, if we want to categorize.  My general impression was that it was good to get time with my deck everyday, but I didn’t really connect with what they were trying to tell me.  This is when I reached out to hillybilly oracle and readjusted to try to predict.  Again I didn’t really vibe with it.
HERE’S WHY THOUGH: I didn’t vibe with it because it felt very shallow and surface level.  It also felt like it was taking too long to learn.  I was touching the deck and it was there and I was there and it was like here’s today and I was like k cool but is that it?  Like every day I felt like it was the same card and I decided I kinda hated the monotony.  At this point I had a couple of 5, 7, 11 card full on readings under my belt and the intuition and ease I experienced in my multi-card spreads was absent in my daily draws.  I didn’t feel like I was learning and it felt like a waste of time, but I thought I would be an absolute shit reader if I didn’t do daily draws because almost every resource advocated for them.
The Real Real and Conclusion Even though everyone said to do daily draws, they didn’t work for me.  That’s ok though because I had large spreads.  I also realized the dynamic through which my deck and I best collaborate.  Please try any method you come across to see if it works for you, and definitely take the liberty to adjust as you go!  Daily single card readings didn’t work for me at all 0/10, and three card daily readings also were like a 2/10 and I really do work better with larger spreads because it helps me understand the big picture and the connections and relationships at play.
I heavily suggest trying daily draws for a month because you really don’t know until you try but I’m writing this and I’m here to tell you that daily draws are not the only way to learn and they might not work and if they don’t work for you, it doesn’t invalidate any of the experience or potential you have a tarot reader.
Let me know what y’all think.  Lots of love to everybody and extra to anyone who needs it <3
L :)

HERE’S A HOT TAKE:
YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO DAILY DRAWS IF YOU’RE STARTING TO LEARN HOW TO READ TAROT LIKE YOU REALLY DON’T ESPECIALLY IF YOU SIMPLY ~DO NOT VIBE~ WITH THEM

Day in my life :)
Hi I’m in midterm season and like deep into the semester right now, but I have plans to ramp up my activity soon.
In the mean time I wanted to make an outline of my daily routine and practices that I try to include every day, more for myself just so that maybe I can look back on this and see what worked and didn’t or see how things change and progress.  In italics I put the parts that are more relevant to my spiritual health.
Morning I usually have to work or be logged on by 830 or 9 every morning so I try to wake up around 7 or 730.  Depending on the day and like my mental/emotional state the order of events changes but here we go :)
I start with a workout three or four days a week, but if I really don’t feel like it then I don’t push it too much.  I’m really trying to be more gentle and accepting with myself because I don’t want to add stress to my already tentatively balanced work-college-tarot life, even if working out calms my body and mind down for the day.  If I don’t workout, I stay in bed for a little bit and check in with myself and do like a quick meditation either from bed or the shower.  I eat breakfast and then get everything set up for the day so that I don’t have to try to rush to log on to everything at the last minute.  I also make a big cup of tea and put it in a travel mug for my commute upstairs and I make it super duper hot.  I love tea because it just feels kinda witchy and I can’t handle my caffeine so coffee is kinda out of the question.
After I eat and set up, I hop in the shower and get dressed pretty quickly because my time management skills still need a little work.  Work is usually slow for the first half hour so I write down like three or so intentions for the day.  These are just brief statements about how I want my day to go or things I want out of the day.
Late Morning/Afternoon Work, classes, more work it’s fine it’s that online remote learning mid day rush, so I try to pack my schedule and be as productive as I can in the work day.  I make sure that I ground myself by taking the time to breathe while I cook lunch and half listen to my class.
Evening By this time my parents are home from work, so I usually pick 3 or 4 assignments to do downstairs that don’t take up all my attention.  Social health is lackingggg big time but I get it where I can right now.  I make sure that I eat without my phone or laptop around so that food and meal time remains something that’s more grounding than other events in my day.  After dinner I stay downstairs and work through the assignments the best I can.
Night I usually go back upstairs around 9 and finish up a couple more assignments.  By 11 at the latest I get ready for bed.  In the same notebook that I write my intentions for the day I make a list of things I’m grateful for underneath the intentions to kind of close out the day.  Then I decide to be the worst and get on instagram for a half hour or so. BUT then if I feel like I need it, I do another short meditation or breathing exercise, which has been happening a little more frequently than usual because mental health is like under siege a little and I’m doing what I can to mitigate :)
Take aways/summary/feelingssss Soooo thanks for reading but the main strategy and mindset I have going into constructing my daily routine is like doing what is helpful but not too much effort.  If something isn’t helpful then I know I won’t stick to it because I love instant gratification.  Also I have a lot on my plate and I don’t want stress to come from things that are supposed to alleviate stress from my daily life.
Lastly, I’m in a place where I feel like my routine is where I want it so I’m going to start adding readings in, so stay tuned for that.  The reason I kinda dropped off of doing readings was because it was taking time and effort (mental/emotional) away from other aspects of my life that needed it wayyy more and I’m glad I recognized that but I’m ready to get going again.  Also to end on a real but depressing note (a downerrrrr lol sorry not sorry this is important) I recently went through a period in the past week and a half where I lost a major support person in my life and realized that I want to be the source of my own stability in my life and I think I’ve got my health-conducive routine down and I love reading tarot because it’s empowering for me and I love helping people where I can.  Lmao I’m rambling but essentially, I’m ready to step forward and step into myself :)
Sending so much love and good vibes to everybody <3 L

My local Michael’s has Christmas stuff out, which like why?? But it also means that they have all their fall decorations marked down by 40% and I definitely wasted spent like 2 hours there yesterday just soaking in the almost half price fall decor and I bought some lovely fake sunflowers :)

I started doing a little bit of manifestation work and gratitude before bed every night and it’s been really good for me and I’ve been seeing things more positively through out my day.  It’s like 10 mins of my day that’s full of intent and purpose and hope and self love and it’s been easier to stick to than meditation :) been considering doing a post on it but it might be kinda brief

howdy everybody I’ve been the absolute worst recently on updating, but here’s one :)
I’m changing my name from hhreadings to tarot28 it is just a name change so it’s kinda minor but I’m also changing the colors because I found something that resonates with me a little more.
I’m not going to use instagram it is too much work for me right now.  I’m a full time student and work 20 hours a week on top of that and I need to balance my life between enjoyment and stress abt not having posted for so long.  I like the community a lot better on tumblr anyway and that whole algorithm change got me a little hesitant to continue using instagram.
I’m going to start getting back into reading again and more regularly because I genuinely love it and love to meet and help people :) I’m also going to try and post somewhat consistently but in the next few days I’m just going to ease into things.
That’s all the updates, and really not much is changing.  My asks are always open and my dms and soon I’ll have a new email and a new form link for readings so stay tuned
Lots of love and excitement <3 L

WHY I LOVE MAKING SPREADS AND HOW I DO IT :)
One of my favorite parts of learning how to read tarots is the creativity and flexibility in the spread like you can have 1 card or so so many and then where you put them matters and holds significance and I just think it’s so beautiful.  I found that designing spreads is really calming and kinda meditative in some sense.  I’d like to thank @hillbillyoracle bc I read through so many of their resources and they’re amazing and I use their compass kinda looking method and anyway here’s a run down of how I make spreads :)
Summarize down the prompt/situation/question What’s the big question or situation?  Like what’s really going on and by the end of the reading if there’s one thing you want to really know what would that be?
This shouldn’t be the hardest part of the process at all.  I start classes tomorrow for the fall semester so I’m using my beginning of semester spread as an example through out the post.  My main question is what is the semester going to look like.  If we want to be more specific then I’d rephrase this to “how can I have the best semester possible?”
Break it down and chunk it up We have the big picture - a successful semester summary.  What contributes to that?  In my sophomore year of high school, I took AP US History and my teacher always looked at argument planning as a stool.  Like the seat is the big picture but the legs that hold it up and contribute to its stability are the details or smaller, integral pieces.
In most of my spreads I include like a general outlook.  I’m also gonna include one in this spread.  This is my first card and is like the vibe of the semester.  My own personal beliefs here are that the semester is gonna fall between x and y degrees of success, so I have control but it’s limited by the best I can do and the worst I can do and other external factors.  So this is a loose interpretation of the whole fall semester and will read as a vague negative or positive.  This card is usually helpful to ease my deck and myself into the reading - like a warm up.
My first thought when I break down my question in this case is what would stop me from having a good semester.  Then how would I get over it?  Right there are gonna be two cards in my reading - a challenge card and an approach to a solution card.  I prefer to define this solution card as an approach to a solution because in most cases, it’s not a quick fix, so I want my reading to reflect that.
Next, I know that personally, the habits, routines, or behaviors I have heavily influence my semester.  Last fall I had a horrible semester, like mostly C’s and D’s, but this past spring semester and in the class I took for summer session were all A’s.  I know that the difference wasn’t in the classes I took, but more in my habits and the people I surrounded myself with.  In short these are all things I had control over.  My next three cards are things I should leave behind/that won’t be helpful this semester, things that are working for me and will help, and then anything that I should add in that will benefit me.  This is a release, keep, drop drawing in short.
This 6 card reading feels like enough.  Sometimes I throw in a general advice card, but I think those last 3 cards are advice enough.
Compass kinda looking method This is the post that really made spreads make sense to me!  If you read through it, there’s an basic XY axis you’ll see in any math class and they aspects are assigned to the extremes of each axis.  This gives you a framework to hang the cards on, and it makes literally so much sense and is one of those mind blowing things that is just so simple when you really look at it.
I keep track of all my spreads in a google doc because they save automatically and I’m very forgetful.  I add a new section for a spread in my doc, name the spread and then open the drawing tool.  I use it because it’s easy to move things around and change whatever I think needs to be changed before and after my reading.  I’d been sleeping on the drawing tool for so long, so I took a realllllly blurry screenshot of where it is in docs:
Tumblr media
I start with a text box on the right side and list the different cards I’m using in each spread.  I don’t really touch the layout of the cards too much until I’ve come up with all the cards I want.  Then I make a text box that looks like a little card and number them and then lay them where I want.  As I’m doing this, I kinda keep the compass in mind for the situation I’m currently reading for and lay out the cards in a way that makes sense according to the compass but in a way that also has like good flow to it.
Tumblr media
So this is the spread I ended up with.  Again, my list/key of the cards in my spread is on the right and my diagram is on the left.  If we were to ascribe a strict axis to this spread, the farther up the y axis you go, the less control I have over my semester.  I explained this earlier, but this is my outlook card.  I have limited control but it’s not out of my hands.  The more negative you go on the y axis, the more control.  I put my keep card here because I’m already doing this and it’s good for me and helpful, so I’ve got whatever this aspect is like completely under wrap.  The farther left you go on the x axis, the farther in the past we go.  This is what to drop for a successful semester.  I wanna leave whatever that sucker is behind!  The card for the challenge is next because I’m encountering it with the intent to overcome and leave it behind me.  In the future leaning cards are the solution approach and the what to add card.  The solution approach is gonna push me into the future and is going to maybe leave me with useful skills for later in life.  What to add is in a similar vein.  This is gonna really have long term positive impacts for my semester ideally.
The end! That was so long, but I think it was worth doing and I’m really proud of it and myself :)  Again, so much props to @hillbillyoracle !!! Amazing resources and one of the first people I started following on here :)

Hi hi hi I do have my weekly spread posted on my instagram (hh.tarot) and I thought I’d give the rundown here too since there’s more room to explain what’s all crammed into my post :)
The general outlook card for this week was the Six of Wands.  This is a great great thing!  He’s telling you that you have what you need to move forward and that any forward progress you make this week will be visible or you’ll be able to feel it.  This means that you should also be super happy and proud with whatever you’re able to accomplish!  Show it off and talk about it and hype yourself up!
The things that could go right this week was the King of Pentacles reversed.  Even though it usually stands for disorganization and poor management when reversed, it really feels like you’re sorting things out and coming out of a stage of disorganization.  If you really want to put your mind and effort towards things, you have the potential to be in great shape and produce those results that the Six of Wands is hinting at.
Things that could go wrong this week deal with decisions and accountability.  I pulled Justice for this.  If you had to make some decisions in the past, there could be consequences catching up with you.  Come to terms with what you’ve chosen and remember that this was a choice you made and that at the end of the day, we’re all held accountable for our decisions.  If you have to make a decision soon though, make sure you think in the short and long term about what could result from the choice you make.  These decisions have to be made and you really can’t get out of them, but you can take responsibility for them and chose things with active consciousness of all the ramifications that these options have.  With the Justice card, it may seem harsh and it’s certainly unavoidable, but it’s not always black/white or good thing/bad thing.
The fourth card in my weekly reading is for things that we don’t fully clearly see or that are hidden.  This was the Five of Pentacles reversed and it really vibed with the Six of Wands.  You’re definitely on the up and up and moving ahead and can literally feel the progress.  This is definitely the momentum you want to carry ahead.  You still have things that need to shift or fall into place before we can charge forwards and it’s important to look at all the small details now.  Small things have their place and if they’re overlooked, they can add up and result in a big block later.  Just take a second and move forward with awareness that though you feel so so good, you still might be shaking off the dust or letting things settle if you went through a bit of a rough patch.
The final card in the spread for this week was the 5 of Cups reversed.  This, in accordance with the Justice card, points to the need to understand how your past plays into your present and that to move forward, you can’t dwell.  You’re being called to see and acknowledge the past for what it really was and understand how your choices got you to where you are.  Come to terms with anything that you need to and apologize/forgive whatever you need to then let it go and move forward.  Our past sets up our future, but it’s the past and we can’t move to where we want to be if we’re stuck at where we were or stuck on who we were or what we did.
In summary, it looks like this could be a great productive week.  If at first it feels like you’re not moving forwards as fast as you feel like you should, see if there’s any decisions you need to make or anything from the past that’s still hanging you up and handle it!  The King of Pentacles being reversed could speak to our achievements being small this week, but being big enough to set us up for our future, so really make sure you’re celebrating or at least recognizing even the smallest of your accomplishments :)

FUN STATISTIC TAROT THINGS :)
I’m a little bit of a nerd and I get excited about interesting things like the role of statistics in tarot readings and so here’s a little bit of stat for you!
In my last weekly forecast spread, I used a 5 card spread.  The first 4 cards were pentacles and I think it’s visually significant when this happens, but I wanted to take a basic statistic approach to what the odds really are of going 4 for 4.
Basic Breakdown of a Standard Tarot Deck A standard deck has 78 cards 22 Major Arcana (22/78 or 28.21%) 56 Minor Arcana (56/78 or 71.79%) 14 cards per suit (14/78 or 17.95%)
Dependent vs Independent Events The easiest and most cut and dry way to explain this in context is the difference between using a spread and drawing a bunch of single cards to answer yes or no questions.
If you shuffle your tarot deck and want to pull a single card to answer a simple yes or no question, the chances of drawing any given card are the same: 1/78 or 1.28%.  You come up with another yes/no question and put the first card back in the deck, shuffle, and prepare to draw your second card.  The odds of drawing any given card don’t change and all 78 cards are still there so there’s a 1.28% chance of drawing any card.  If you draw one card at a time then put it back before drawing a second card, the first card will never change what the second card is, making each drawing an independent event.
In the event of my weekly forecast spread, I shuffle and then draw 5 cards one after the other without putting them back in the deck.  Each time a card is drawn, the odds change because the total number of cards in the deck changes from 78 to 77, and all the percentages adjust accordingly.  This means that each drawing is dependent on the one that come before it.
The Math is Different for Each Situation Too!!!  For independent events you multiple the percentage of the event outcome you want by itself for the number of drawings since the percentage doesn’t change.
For dependent events, the procedure is essentially the same, but the percentage changes each time
So What are the Odds of Drawing 4 Pentacles in a Row??? Before we even get our feet wet with any math, the odds are gonna be higher for drawing 4 pentacles in a row if the events are independent of each other.  The odds are remaining the same for each drawing rather than decreasing (as they do when each drawing is dependent on the one before it).
Pentacles are a single suit, so as stated in the breakdown, any single suit has 14 cards in a standard tarot deck and makes up 17.95% of the deck.
In an independent context, we use 17.95% each time a card is drawn since there will always be 14 pentacles in the deck.  We’re drawing 4 cards, so we multiply 0.1795 by itself 4 times:
0.1795 x 0.1795 x 0.1795 x 0.1795 = 0.1795^4 = 0.001038
0.1038% is just over a tenth of a percent which is already a small chance.
In a dependent context, or in the context of my weekly spread, we start with 14 pentacles and each time we draw a card, we lose a card in the deck as a whole and a pentacle card.  It’s easier to show as an actual fraction.  So each time we draw, we’re subtracting 1 from the numerator and denominator and multiplying them together.
(14/78) x (13/77) x (12/76) x (11/75) = 0.1795 x 0.1688 x 0.1579 x 0.1467 = 0.0007019
This is 0.07019% and is tiny tiny tiny.
Wrap Up :) So not only is having 80% of my weekly spread visually significant and kinda baffling to look at but there’s a 0.07018% chance of it happening in terms of basic statistics alone.
I think when a certain number or suit shows up in a reading over and over like this, it adds to validity of tarot readings in general because like what are the odds :)

Hi it’s monday and I did a weekly spread and here it is!!
Tumblr media
And here are the cards that I drew in order: 5 of pentacles (reversed), 10 of pentacles (reversed), nine of pentacles, page of pentacles, and knight of swords (reversed)
HERE’S THE BREAKDOWN OK OK OK
First I want to say that I’ve been having this thing where my monthly spread and then the daily card that I drew for today and then this weekly spread that I did have all really relate to me and my life so I’m a little worried that they’re not applicable to other people.  I post and read with the intent of reading for others more than reading for myself so I would love a little feedback on like how much it makes sense to other people.
I got a little weird when I was pulling cards because it was pentacles after pentacles after pentacles and like yikes weird coincidence.  It was a really cool moment especially like when you think about it statistically a little bit anywayyyyy
Pentacles are focused on the material world and business, which means the week is heavily based in career and financial matters, rather than emotion or logic though both are components.  Overall the outlook is positive, though there’s so many reversed cards.  The 5 of Pentacles (reversed) draws attention to the fact that you’re on the up and up.  You might have recently faced a rough patch or dry spell in your career or finances, leading you to be dependent on others.  Recently though, this has begun to come to close and you’re beginning to become more hopeful.  Additionally, the 10 of Pentacles (reversed) highlights the positive aspects of the difficulties that you’ve begun to overcome.  It gave you time to figure out what you want.  As you’re building your future you’re able to distinguish between what feels good from what is good for you.
Negative aspects of this week are represented by the 9 of pentacles.  You’re on the rise, and looking forward to being independent.  Though it might be tempting and seem satisfying to do things yourself and try to pull yourself up, you still need the people around you and the opportunities that they can offer.  Be cautious about being blinded by your growing independence to the point that you become ignorant to the people and environment around you.  They could bring you more success than what you could bring yourself.
The Page of Pentacles also highlights the potential and success that you could find.  This week, you might be focused so much on the outcomes and your dreams and goals and the end result that you could be forgetting the details.  It’s time to look practically at where you have the potential to go and lay down foundations and ways that could get you to where you wish to be.  The Knight of Swords (reversed) affirms this and your potential to make progress.  You have a lot of energy and want to get going on all your ambitions.  Right now, you need to slow down and figure out exactly what you need and what steps you take. You’re being called to a slower and more technical approach to your future and success and that is the most efficient use of your energy.  Once you lay the foundations and gather all that you need, you’ll be moving forward by leaps and bounds.
Let me know what y’all thought!! I really like the spread and I think it’s kinda cute and weather themed :)

MONTHLY FORECAST FOR AUGUST 2020
I’M SO EXCITED!! Also this is posted on my instagram (hh.tarot) in a more condensed form.  Like it’s not a big chunky paragraph like we’ve got going on down below.
Tumblr media
for better quality, enlarge the pics or check out instagram :)
HERE WE GO!!
What cards went where bc the pic is so small :) 1. King of Pentacles 2. 2 of Swords, reversed 3. 7 of Pentacles 4. Death, reversed 5. Justice, reversed 6. 8 of Swords 7. 8 of Pentacles, reversed 8. Page of cups, reversed
The theme card, King of Pentacles, seems at odds with the rest of the reading at first glance because he’s usually recognized as a harbinger of financial success and security and the rest of the cards read mainly about self work and development.  However by working on yourself, you can achieve more tangible success and increase your self confidence to a point that more important and daunting matters seem less so and you’re able to handle things with increased ease.  As things become easier to deal with (due to you being more equipped), you can move your focus to matters that can bring you happiness and success.
During the month of August, the Two of Swords (reversed) highlights the sense of stagnation or the feeling that you’re plateauing.  You may be able to see where you want to be and it might feel very far away, but by viewing things in a big picture sense, you can set our sights on the long term and notice that you’re putting in the time and hours now in order to receive those payoffs and benefits later.  Maybe by looking at the bigger picture, you’ll be able to notice a detail or aspect of your approach that is neglected or has been receiving too much attention. The Seven of Pentacles calls us to look large and appreciate that you’ve been working through the contributing details and tending to what needs tending in order to get to where you want to go.
In July, you might have been noticing attachments that didn’t feel as fulfilling or useful as they have in the past.  Death (reversed) calls us to embrace this change and let things go. Anything that you’re clinging to could hold back the growth and development that needs to happen for you to be successful.  This change might feel like a lot or it might seem highly personal, but it has the potential to be incredibly transformative.  Justice (reversed) also indicates that you might be reluctant to let go of those things, thoughts, feelings, relationships, or people.  You might know that their time has come to be released but you might not be letting yourself let them go.  You’re accountable for your happiness and more aspects of your life than those attachments are.
At the beginning of this month, Justice and the Eight of Pentacles call for you to really take a step back from yourself and look without emotion on your situation.  Be honest with what is holding you back and needs to leave.  It’s hard and it’s scary, but lying to yourself and holding on to things that no longer serve you can be far more detrimental to your future.  The Eight of Pentacles also calls for you to find a balance between what you think would make you happy and what could actually make you happy.  In your journey to find happiness, make sure you’re finding balance and moderation between what is happiness and what is perfection.  If you’re seeking perfection because you think it will make us happy, it could result in your detriment or stagnation rather than forward progress.
Once you reevaluate what will make you happy and how you can get there, the second half of August is the time for action.  During the last two weeks of August, The Page of Cups (reversed) urges you to be more comfortable, confident and open with your creative side and your intuition.  This is the time to work through any doubt and start to phase out the self critic in your head.  Begin to release old habits that don’t serve you or contribute to your success.  Implement behaviors like positive self talk and notice the difference that it makes.  The Eight of Swords is telling you that forward progress will come easy once you become open to creating and setting in motion positive change in your life.
End scene lol that was long but I felt like it was thorough which is what I wanted.  Please lmk if you have any feedback or questions! I was super impressed with how accurate it seemed to me and I hope everyone else feels the same way
